Are Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis still together? Are they over? Are they sort of together and working it out for the kids? Have they both moved on to other partners? I really don’t know the answers to any of those questions. People Magazine claimed months ago that Johnny and Vanessa were totally over, but Johnny said last month that the split rumors weren’t true. Johnny and Vanessa are sometimes in the same city, but they do seem to be separated by geography most of the time this year. Plus, Johnny can’t go a month without rumors spreading about his various, alleged hookups. Eva Green… Ashley Olsen… and Amber Heard. Personally, if Johnny was going to fool around I hoped it would be with Eva Green, who is a sexy bitch. But it really seems like Amber Heard is the one alleged mistress who is sticking around. The tabloids have been claiming off and on for months that Depp and Heard had an affair, and that they continue to see each other. Here’s something recent:
Among the more complicated celebrity relationships may be the one involving Johnny Depp and longtime love Vanessa Paradis.
In the wake of reports the “Dark Shadows” star and the French singer had split after 14 years and two children, the couple put out the word they are not kaput, even though they have not been seen together in public for more than a year.
There were indications that a fling between Depp and his “The Rum Diary” co-star Amber Heard may have led Paradis to pull the plug, but that was denied by them, even as “Diary” insiders claim it was true. Making it all even more complicated: Heard recently admitted she is bisexual and is involved with artist and photographer Tasya van Ree.
Yet, there also have been recent sightings of Heard and Depp — though the privacy-obsessed Depp has been able to avoid being photographed with Heard, at least so far.
Last month there were also rumors that Amber and Johnny had a hot Las Vegas hookup, and Amber was even photographed getting onto Johnny’s private plane. I don’t even know. My guess is that Amber is bisexual, not full-on lesbian, and that she and Johnny did have something going, on and off, no strong commitments. Of course, I also think Johnny is in the midst of a full-blown midlife crisis, so I’ll believe pretty much anything.
In the meantime, Johnny continues to film The Lone Ranger, which has gone incredibly over-budget and weeks behind schedule. You can read more about it here – it sounds like Johnny is having some issues.

I googled pics of Tasya Van Re (her girlfriend) and there are several photos of her and Amber looking very much in love. I don’t think she was with Johnny, but I do buy the Askey Olsen rumors (she seems like his type-waifish and Kate Moss-like).

A large part of a MLC is a change in normal behaviours and tastes.
Depression exacerbated by hormone fluctuations and, usually, unresolved childhood issues/trama leaves the person trying all kinds of things to make themselves feel better at this time in their life.
Drinking, drugs, affairs and spending money are common, and the person they choose to have a affair with is often a surprise to those who know them well. They usually call it an affair-down.
In Depp’s case Heard is obviously very attractive but certainly not the type he usually has relationships with.

What’s going on with Ruffalo and RDJ? I’m not sure if you want to know anything juicy (there isn’t — they are, at least as far as I know, these deliciously sexy husbands to two very lucky women). Or about any new movies. If it’s the latter…RDJ started filming Iron Man 3 and Ruffalo finished filming “Now You See Me” (with Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher).
I compared RDJ to Johnny Depp because until very recently Depp was the epitome of “celebrity perfection” and Downey, well…you know. Now it’s like the opposite (minus the drug use — I don’t think Depp still uses it, or at least, not as much as Downey did in the past).

Agreed. I first saw her in The Informers (if its on Netflix, catch it. Its a terrible film, but…) and she was topless probably 60% of the film and in only a thong maybe 30% of the time. Anyway, female nudity is kind of meh to me most of the time, but Good Lord, even a straight girl like me had to take notice of her. Her body is ridiculous. And she actually looks like she might have a full meal every now and then.
And agreed on Depp, too. Smelly and “free” is only attractive for the first decade or so, then it just gets lazy.

Although I think affairs are sh*tty and want to believe Johnny would not cheat on Vanessa, I have to say, Eva Green is one sexy b*tch. If he did cheat, I hope it would be with her too. She is stunning whereas Amber Heard looks kind of cheap. I loved Dark Shadows (I know, I am one of the few people who did) and I thought Eva was fantastic in it. Nah, I don’t feel bad for Vanessa. She seems like a strong and self assured woman. If he did cheat, then he just helped her make the decision to split up that much easier.

By and large, I agree with you, but I really do believe Johnny and VP are over, but are keeping things amicable for their kids. A lot of people split up like that. I don’t think Johnny (or any other real father) would want their kids to see them tom-catting around. Just think how embarassed and hurt they would be! But I also don’t believe this Amber Heard business and I thought that one was over a long time ago. I hope Johnny is happy and finds a new lover and I hope the same for his ex.

Perhaps there is a method to the madness; I can see Heard’s people wanting to distance her from full-on lesbianism and perhaps want to make her more accessible to the bridge and tunnel crowds. Having her swing both ways allows her to have her cake and eat it too; men can fantasize about her, women can be jealous of her man-catchin’ ways and perhaps she extends her career a little longer.
The not-being-able-to-act problem; well no amount of gossip will save her from that!

First off, love this site! I have a question Kaiser…why do you think Amber Heard is bisexual? She came out as a lesbian, right? I just ask because you’ve mentioned her being with Jonny Depp in several articles. Just wondering if you’ve heard something. I can see someone hiding their bisexuality by saying they’re straight, but I have a hard time visualizing a situation where a bisexual person would come out as gay. It just seems a little disrespectful to the gay community to talk about her being bisexual without anything to back it up. There’s a subtext there of “she’s too hot to be gay.” If I’m wrong I would love for you to write about why you think she would be hooking up with a man!

I remember YEARS ago the rumours of him & Christina Ricci during filming of Sleepy Hallow. Publically he declared her too young for him (despite being with Vanessa) yet the hot gossip on set was that he very much cheated on her. People complained the film lacked chemistry between the couple, but I think there was so much gossip they toned it right down to nothing!
He didn’t marry Vanessa, so probably still thinks of himself as more or less single.
I can’t imagine any man, let alone a handsome much sought after film star, going without nookie for months on end which is basically what they are saying happens if Vanessa is in one country & Johnny is filming abroad. She doesn’t even turn up to his premieres anymore.
