Here are more photos of Katie Holmes glowing at the Dead Accounts photocall; she’s pictures with Theresa Rebeck and Norbert Leo Butz, and if you’re thinking that Norbert (despite his name) might be a decent post-Tom fling for Katie, well, that won’t be happening, but I’ll get to that in a moment. First, some quick tying of loose ends. Katie is still taking the subway (I really like her purse), and Us Weekly has a cute photo of Suri making friends with a little boy in Battery Park. This would have never happened (that is, associating with non-CO$ children) when Tom Cruise was in charge.
Back to Katie and her prospective love life now. I’m really interested to see what type of guy she dates next even though she insists that she’s not jumping back into the game anytime soon, but when she does, it should be interesting to watch from afar. So far, we know that Katie doesn’t plan on getting with an “old geezer” like Tom again, and she definitely doesn’t want Tom himself back either. That’s a no-brainer. However, there’s now a new twist — which puts Joshua Jackson out of the running too — Katie doesn’t want to date a fellow actor ever again. Presumably, that would include not only film and television actors but also anyone she happens to encounter during her upcoming Broadway travels as well. Hmm, so who would she like to date? Radar claims to have the scoop:
While Katie Holmes isn’t ready to date just yet – she’s told pals that when she does it won’t be with any actors, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The former “Dawson’s Creek” star has sworn off thesps and is instead being introduced to artists by her fashion business partner, Jeanne Yang. However, Katie, 33, is in no hurry to be tied down and is enjoying the single life right now.
“Katie doesn’t want to tie herself down just yet, but she says she’s done going out with actors,” a source revealed. “Her previous relationships with Joshua (Jackson), Chris (Klein) and Tom (Cruise) didn’t work out, so she thinks she should look away from her own profession.
“Jeanne Yang, her business partner for the Holmes & Yang fashion label, has taken Katie to some art gallery openings recently and she’s met tons of interesting artists. “She’s been saying now that if she does date anyone, it could be someone who works in the arts world. Katie’s more interested in the quiet life now and an unassuming artist would fit the bill perfectly for when she’s ready,” the source revealed.

I don’t know. Artists are pretty overrated, right? As in, anyone can claim to be one. Maybe Katie will limit herself to someone very established (Banksy? only kidding) or even go for a curator type. But I definitely understand Katie wanting to live a quieter, more unassuming life in the future. Tom is exhausting enough to witness, so I cannot even come close to imagining what it’s like to deal with him for days on end. Katie needs to find herself a nice, easygoing dude or at least someone who knows how to unwind. I also think she might end up dating sooner than she thinks, but give her time.

I could never date an actor either. They are arrogant, always gone and around beautiful women plus make a living pretending to be someone else all the time. You can’t tell me those skills aren’t carried over into relationships too.

That would be skeevy since Lenny lived with, was engaged to, possibly impregnated Nicole after tom left her.
While dating Lenny did wonders for Nicole’s wardrobe, I think Katie would dress much MUCH much worse than she currently does, if she were to date a Kravitz

Yeah because the artist types are way less complicated.
She seems like the type who would date a lawyer or something. No offense to lawyers, my mother is a lawyer; but it’s the perceived stability that she seems like she would go for rather than an artist’s temperament and/or income.

I was thinking the exact same thing! 1) Artists are batshit crazy. Quiet life my ass. 2) She is way too boring to keep an artists attention. Lawyers would lap that shit up because she could fawn over their ‘intelligence’ and she can bring them home to Daddy.

I actually could see her with a low key stage actor or someone behind the scenes like a director/producer/writer…I actually see older (though not as old as Tom) but really unassuming and laidback…I wander if she’ll have more kids?

She shouldn’t be dating anyone. She should find something that she’s good at (maybe not acting or “designing”) and grow up a little. She always comes off as such an unintelligent, unsophisticated, insecure person. She should work on herself so that she can pick someone that matches her and is good to her, not someone who she sees as better than her.

I agree but lets face it that’s not an interesting enough story. I mean you can’t be alone in Hollywood and enjoy it especially if you’re a woman. I really don’t see Katie dating anyone for a while because really everyone will ask how this affects Suri etc.
She’s not going to do anything that will have people perceive her as a bad mom.
