Liam Gallagher ‘refused to privately settle’ child support for his NY love child

Last week, we spent some time discussing the paternity drama surrounding Liam Gallagher and a “love child” he allegedly fathered with an American journalist. Apparently, the American woman gave birth to a daughter earlier this year and there’s a lot of wild speculation about exactly who knew what and who demanded what amount of money. The whole “controversy” began when the woman sued Liam for child support – she wants $3 million. Which sounds perfectly reasonable to me, especially if it’s a one-time payment and the mother doesn’t want him to be involved at all. The problem seems to be that Liam is currently married and his marriage is now in crisis because of the controversy, and that he’s trying to cheap out on paying anything to this American woman.

Liam Gallagher refused to privately settle an out-of-court deal for child support with his New York baby mama, Liza Ghorbani.

Sources tell us after their daughter, Gemma, was born, the former Oasis frontman and his lawyers started “stonewalling” Ghorbani, refusing to reach a secret out-of-court child-support settlement. She was eventually forced to file a lawsuit because Gallagher wouldn’t negotiate, we’re told.

Gemma is now 5 months old, and we hear freelancer Ghorbani is “broke.” Meanwhile, “Wonderwall” singer Gallagher, 40, has been partying like a rock star in Ibiza.

A source tells us, “Before the child was born, Liam’s attorneys verbally made a very low offer of child support — a figure expected from a regular dad, not a rock star — which was refused. After the baby was born, Liza kept asking Liam to negotiate with her. She had hoped this could have been settled quietly and out of court, but she was completely stonewalled. In the end, she had no choice but to file a suit with the Manhattan Family Court.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that the case is being heard in Manhattan under the names Anonymous v. Anonymous. Top matrimonial attorneys Bill Beslow, for Ghorbani, and Raoul Felder, representing Gallagher, have both declined to comment.

But another source tells us that Beslow — who recently represented Linda Evangelista in her public child-support battle against François-Henri Pinault and helped her win a record-breaking settlement — is prepared to take Gallagher to a public trial if he doesn’t come to a child-support agreement.

The source said, “Liza isn’t after millions, she is just looking for appropriate child support.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that Gallagher started an affair with Ghorbani after she interviewed him for The New York Times in 2010, for a story appropriately titled, “A Night Out With Liam Gallagher.” The singer was this week spotted partying poolside in Ibiza, where he is performing with his new band, Beady Eye.

[From Page Six]

The original reporting of this story made it sound like Liza Ghorbani was the one unwilling to negotiate and hellbent on “revealing” Liam’s love child and destroying his marriage. Which… doesn’t sound legit. I think this current theory from Page Six is probably closer to the truth – she wanted more money and Liam wouldn’t negotiate, so she felt she had no choice but to sue.

Meanwhile, the UK papers have a lot of stories about Liam and Nicole and what’s happening in their marriage. She’s been spotted without her wedding ring. Sources say Liam broke the news to her on the phone. Liam’s management team fired his pretty, young personal assistant after claims that they were boning. Liam has been claiming that Liza’s daughter isn’t his and that his marriage is just fine, though. So, it’s a huge mess.

Ugh, he just screams sleazy to me. Nut up, Liam!

  2. Eleonor says:

If you can’t keep it in your pants, there’s always the condom. You know Liam??

  3. HappyMom says:

    What a creep.

    • Cazzee says:

Really have no words for this behavior:

“Liam Gallagher’s favourite trick is to jingle the dog leads in the corridor of the Hampstead home he shares with wife Nicole Appleton and croon ‘Walkies, walkies’ to his two dachshunds and labrador, before sitting back down in his chair.

That this usually sends the dogs into a frenzy of wild barking and frustration amuses him. ‘I like winding me dogs up,’ he shrugs.

He adds: ‘I like winding me kids up, I like winding me mum up, I like winding me missus up.”

Someone who cruelly taunts his dogs, the most trusting and loyal of domestic animals (and I say that as a cat person) can be counted on to do cruel things to the other helpless, loving, dependent creatures in his life – animal or human.

      • EscapedConvent says:

Wow. Anyone who would do that is a sick twist indeed.

He seems to have the personality of a nasty little 3-year-old.

I’ve never understood how this prick could get any women to have anything to do with him. Oh, that’s right, he’s in a band.

      • Lady D says:

        What a prick.

  4. Tony says:

Good for him. Maybe now she’ll find some incentive to get a job instead of looking for a payday.

    • Laura says:

I’m realising that your’re all kinds of awesome. Your right that lazy b*tch/s*ut/w*ore trying to get money to support the kid that she just magically pulled out her vagina all by her lonesome, how dear she!

    • nuzzybear says:

Yeah, cuz real men don’t support their kids – especially when they’re multi-millionaires.

      • Tapioca says:

A real man should pay support for his child, but then a “real woman” shouldn’t sleep with a married man and bring a baby into this world for a paycheck. Imagine growing up knowing that you exist solely to provide your mother with a certain lifestyle!

They’re both horrible human beings who, ironically, totally deserve one another. The poor kid deserves better.

      • nuzzybear says:

You’re assuming a lot about her motivations. What she’s asking for breaks down over 18 years to about $170K per year. If you factor in education, healthcare, child care, rent, clothing, and other expenses, asking for $3M is not a gold mine – especially in New York. She’ll still have to support herself – that money won’t set her up for life.

      • Sabrine says:

It seems men would rather forgo taking the time to put on a condom rather than deny themselves that little bit of extra pleasure they might get by not wearing one. Wow, does it really boil down to something this basic?

      • bluhare says:

She’s asking for the up front cash PLUS child support.

      • nuzzybear says:

bluhare: what’s your source? I don’t see an additional child support arrangement in any of the links…

      • bluhare says:

Nuzzy: I’ve read several articles about this and it’s mentioned in them. Usually lost after the up front cash demand

    • Shannon says:

It’s HIS kid. He needs to pay up. The guy is a known dick head so I’m not surprised at all by this. The fact he cheated in his wife and now won’t pay for his bastard child is typical.

    • fabgrrl says:

I get the feeling this chick is a gold digger and looking for a pay out. However, I feel that if someone is stupid and/or arrogant enough to get stuck in a gold digger’s honey pot then he needs to pay up and shut up.

    • Tony says:

“Liza isn’t after millions, she is just looking for appropriate child support.”

      “She wants 3 million.”

      Lmfao.

      • WonderBar says:

She’s asking for approx. $14K per a month for 18 years.

For New York, she’ll have to work if she wants to enroll the child into a top notch private school and not live in a one bedroom closet.

    • Ginger says:

Irregardless of the circumstances of the conception and birth or the motivations behind it…there is a child that needs to be supported by mum and dad period. I’m not surprised she had to sue him. Liam is a jerk. but ITA about her sharing blame for an affair.

    • Meredith says:

If you play, you pay – rich or poor, it doesn’t matter. I don’t know anything about this woman but if Liam doesn’t want to get caught by an alleged gold digger, then he should stop sleeping around like the skanky manwhore he is and/or start using condoms. No sympathy for Liam here. Pay up, moron. And she’s not getting off easy either – she has to raise the child for the next 20 years while Liam is “partying like a rock star in Ibiza”.

    • MoxyLady007 says:

Please. The baby is the gold digger. Wanting love and food and shelter. Ugh. Liam just wants the baby to get over it already!

    • Bridget says:

Child support is a legal obligation in the states, and is based upon how much money the non-custodial parent makes. Legal obligation. So if he didn’t want to pay, he should have kept it in his pants.

      • Meredith says:

+1. Nobody put a gun to his head and said “Have unprotected sex with her or you die!”. Really, why doesn’t he just pay up and then get back to ignoring his moral obligation to care about his child?

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      @tony
We are talking about an innocent child here. Regardless of the mother’s motives, he participated willingly in the event that created a child, a human being. He has an obligation to support that child. That’s the chance he took. If he’s not willing to accept responsibility for his own child, he could maybe be more selective in his sexual activities. It’s not about punishing the mother.

  5. brin says:

    What a prize.

    • Little Darling says:

Right? He’s so slimy, arrogant, douchy and stuck on himself. I remember stories if this asshat from growing up in the 90’s and there is nothing appealing about him whatsoever.

He’s a complete prick to his brother, band mates and clearly can’t keep any of his prick where it belongs…

  6. blue marie says:

he’s always comes across as a douche to me, so I could see him refusing to pay.

was the 3 mil to be hush money or how did she come up with that number when he’s worth substantially more? I dunno, I’d like to think if I were in the situation I’d rather him have to pay monthly so at least he has to think of his child a few moments per month.

  7. Cazzee says:

I can’t believe I am citing the Daily Mail, but the DM article I read said that the baby’s mother was looking for a lump sum $3 million plus monthly child support payments.

The article also described Liam Gallagher as a ‘4×4’ – the name for a man who’s had four children with four different women…made me chuckle.

    • L says:

DM was also saying that he’s reporting that his marriage is over.

Good on his wife if that’s the case.

    • LAK says:

4 x 4 is a term coined in the 2008 originally as an insult for a celebrity, Ulrika Jonsson, who had 4 children by 4 different men. It’s now common usage in Britain for any one who has children by different people. The number changes eg 2 x 2 or 3 x 3. Kate Winslet is now frequently described as 3 x 3.

  8. Shelley says:

He should own up to his responsiblities. Liam is such a see u next tuesday. Don’t make babies you are not prepared to support. I hope she gets more than that $3 million.

  9. Tania says:

He has always come across as a rude person that is undeserving of his success. Why would anyone ever want to sleep with such an awful person?

  10. highclassbooker says:

OMG, I had such a crush on Liam back in his Oasis heyday when I was like 16. Yikes, how embarrassing. That leopard shirt is inexcusable.

  11. Leah says:

He is so unattractive, boorish and his music sucks.

  12. doofus says:

I’ve always considered BOTH Gallagher brothers to be TOTAL douches, so this is not surprising to me at all.

    • Poppy says:

Noel isn’t so bad – earlier this yaer he curated a series of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust.

    • Rhea says:

I think Noel is better than Liam. At least I never heard any story about him in a messy situation like this.

    • Adrien says:

Noel is ok. His “High Flying Birds” band are miles better than Oasis.

    • Gabriella says:

Noel actually matured somewhere along the way. He comes off as a very decent man these days. Liam on the other hand just doesn’t seem to learn, does he? What a d*ckhead!

  13. fabgrrl says:

    What a pig.

  14. Lucy2 says:

Just look at that leopard shirt photo- how could any woman resist? (Sarcasm)

Does he have that kind of money? I kind of doubt it. But she’s right to file a suit, he should have to support his child.

  15. notpretentious says:

I don’t believe that anybody, feels the way I do about you now, Liam.

  16. DanaG says:

So 4 kids to 4 different mothers and 2 of them are from affairs. Liam has cheated on every girl he has been with it’s why his first marriage broke up. His wife can’t be too smart I doubt this is the first time he has strayed. I think she should get 3 mill just for sleeping with him. Gross and he is a pig with no talent.

  17. Sixer says:

Once an obnoxious idiot, always an obnoxious idiot. That is all.

  18. PrincessMe says:

I thought it was impossible to truly “waive” CS in favor of a one-off sum. I may be wrong, but I heard that even if the two parents made a “one-off” deal, if circumstances changed later on and the mother sued for CS, she could get it anyway. Anyone know if that’s true?

    • Tig says:

Typically, that’s true- the thinking is that child support is for the child-and if mom agreed to “x” dollars as lump sum and that’s it- and then mon either blew money and/or child had need of additional support later- not equitable to deprive child of support on account of what mom agreed to when child was months old, as is case here.

What I find ironic is per this article, she dismissed “normal” (??) child support payments. It’s not as if she ever lived with this guy, or the child did, so it’s not one of those situations where the lifestyle would change for the worse w/o support. On the other hand, monthly payments would require her or state to go after him if he failed to pay- and internationals are the worse to track down, as usually don!t have assets or paychecks in US.

That being said- can’t imagine sleeping with this guy! What a piece of work!

  19. Tulip says:

The child should be supported and he should pay that support. BUT. I find that I can’t stand the fact that this woman is a freelance writer getting paid to push out and raise a kid. She’s not forced to endure a crappy 9-5 job like most people-she’s a freelance journalist who
interviewed him and she comes across as, well, gold digging. It’s a shame the kid is stuck with these two as parents.

    • Evyn says:

I agree. I’m curious about how she was planning on supporting her baby if her baby daddy worked a minimum wage job.

      • Meredith says:

Non-custodial parents (usually dads) pay a % of their income. So if dad made minimum wage, she’d be getting a % of not much. Plus no matter what the income level (high or low), I’ve never met anyone (man or woman) who felt they were paying a “fair” amount. Everyone thinks it’s too high – as if children magically raise themselves with no money at all.

  20. Sadie says:

I hung out with oasis in particular Liam & his crew back in the 2000’s. At the time he was with Nicole & there was similar a scandal with an Italian lady who claimed she was preggers with his baby. It didn’t stop him from partying with us & hitting on my friend…but we did have to keep our voices down when Nicole called. He’s still living the dream I suppose…

  21. CC says:

    He’s disgusting

  22. lisa says:

    he’s way fug

maybe he wants people to know he still gets some

  23. Jennifer12 says:

Someone at work once said kids suffer because of selfish men and stupid women. All these kids by all these women and he’s a crap dad and human being, and there are so many people out there like him. And the mom is no prize- why do women insist on getting pregnant by men who have made no real commitment to them? Don’t expect any sympathy for sleeping with a married guy and then getting pregnant with his child. Could someone give Liam a vasectomy? And the ones who suffer are these poor kids: they have all these half siblings all over the place by women and men they don’t know, and the parents are always engaged in drama.

  24. endoplasmic_ridculum says:

    That Wonderwall – it’s called a condom.

  25. Cait says:

When did he morph into Gargamel?

  26. Rhea says:

I’m sure Liam is happy that the Royal Baby is almost here. That way all the attention would be no longer on him.

  27. gg says:

This guy has long been known as a pig. Don’t sleep with pigs, have their babies and expect them not to continue to be pigs. This paycheck was never gonna work.

  28. Kaboom says:

The Galagher brothers have their own premium line of douchebags. ’nuff said.

  29. Adrien says:

Why did the music journo even sleep with Liam? Why oh why? If it was Damon Albarn or Jarvis Cocker, I’ll understand. But Liam? Not even in the 90s.

  30. aang says:

I so wish this blind item had turned out to be Chris Martin instead. Who cares about this guy anymore?

  31. irishserra says:

Poor Gemma, born to two trashy nitwits.

  32. JFerber says:

I’d actually like to add to the wish of a love child for Chris Martin. I’d love to see how Goop played it, but Chris is probably smart enough to wear a condom with his strange.

  33. bluhare says:

Here’s my beef with all this (other than Liam Gallagher almost makes Charles Saatchi look normal). What the hell happened to birth control? With all the options available today, there’s no reason anyone should be pregnant if they don’t want to be. And that includes him. He’s already got four kids; why not a vasectomy?

    • doofus says:

      not to mention STDs.

some of those are FOREVER, and at least one can mean a death sentence if not properly treated.

and with the way celebs seem to sleep around on each other, I wouldn’t touch ANY famous person (truth be told, ANY PERSON AT ALL) without a condom.

  34. Michelle Skinnider says:

Why dis Liam when no one know the truth, she shouldn’t have been a slapper in the first place. If its put on a plate any mans gonna take it, if it is Liam’s child she probably meant to fall pregnant just for the money. Get the test done first before anyone judges him ffs

    • Ravensdaughter says:

May I ask what century you are writing this rubbish from? It has to be at best the 19th, although the sentiments expressed could go back to pre-recorded history…
Besides, it’s not he/she-it’s CHILD SUPPORT! We’re talking about money that goes to providing a comfortable and appropriate lifestyle to the child of a very wealthy rock star.
Obviously it’s his, or his attorneys wouldn’t have been milling around all this time trying to settle. I am quite sure the paternity of this child, who is several months old, is well established.

  35. Ravensdaughter says:

Stupid, arrogant twit. I hope the attorney’s fees-the mother’s attorneys will ask for them and likely prevail-eat him alive.
Printable words cannot express the extent to which this rich, spoiled, irresponsible douchebag disgusts me.
Btw, isn’t “love child” kind of passe, especially since male rock star types feel it is their duty to spread their extraordinary seed?. Example-One wonders how many children Mick Jagger REALLY has…
Lump sum settlement plus fees, definitely!!!!
