  1. Her glaring lack of talent finally caught up w/ her. You can only go so far by marketing your big fat ass.

  2. Can we now call her J’Over?

  3. I saw “El Cantante” clips and interviews on the making of it w/ Lopez and thought it looked terrible. The interview was shallow and self important. Looks like the film about an abusive alcoholic entertainer and the woman who loves him. How many times have we seen this tired theme? What’s the point? You can be a total dick and still have someone love you because you’re famous?
Jennifer is not much of a singer, but she is insanely pretty.

  4. Poor poor Jen from the block, is she still Jen from the block? She is a survivor, she will cope. First find a man Jenny.

  6. Yup. When your talent is questionable at best, it isn’t a good idea to get too big for your britches. I think she just assumed that since she is Latina and still sort of famous, that she would automatically have a hit with a Spanish language album. Then, she wouldn’t promote the album in Spanish chains like Ritmo Latino? I do believe that’s called shooting yourself in the foot.

She was always a flash in the pan, the last spark of the “Latin Explosion”.

  7. She’s about as much as much a Puerto Rican woman as I am an Irish woman.

But on that subject, are we to understand from her comments that being Puerto Rican boils down to being self-centered and having a big ass? Bet that’s news to a lot of actual Puerto Ricans.

She was a decent actress at first, but she made a mess of her career, as if she were way more interested in being a celebrity more than a performer.

  9. I tried to post earlier that Puerto Ricans must be so thrilled but it wouldn’t take. So -
Puerto Ricans must be so thrilled with their new representative!

  10. I’m a Puerto Rican, born and bred, and trust me she is NOT a representative of our people. My ears singe everytime I hear someone calling her an “actress” or a “singer”.

Her husband Marc is superfamous in PR and he is revered as a Salsa god over there, but personally everyone thinks he’s a bit of a prick. He hasn’t really come out with much lately, and because they had such success when they dueted the first time on “No Me Ames”, he thinks their love will attract enough publicity to sell their rubbish movie “El Cantante”.

I think Jenny is letting herself be influenced by her hubby’s rubbish career advice and needs to get back with Benny medina pronto.

Btw–has anyone seen that horrible movie “The Substitute” that they play on HBO late at night when they run out of Tales from the Crypt episodes to run? I’m more scared by the horrible acting in the baddie role Marc played in that movie than the puppet on the horror show.

  11. Guess everyone finally caught on that she has no acting or singing talent, and that her ass is pretty ordinary for a Latin woman.

  12. I am so glad to see people actually being honest at last about her lack of talent. Yes, she is pretty, but there is nothing else, and Marc gives me the creeps.

  13. Salma Hayek was right: That woman is not Puerto Rican, but American. If you’re going to claim you’re Latin heritage your Spanish better not be insulting and please do not be a goddamn mess (Is she fooling anyone?). Rosalyn Sanchez, now she’s Puerto Riquena.

  17. After attempting to read some of the posts off this story, obviously the only people that care about her are illiterate. Guess what - I couldn’t give a rat’s ass whether anybody has money or not. If you do? Get a job and earn some instead of sitting around talking about it. The only people that focus on money are people who don’t have any.

  18. The reason that all these celebrities today try so hard to be in the media and in the public eye for what ever it takes, such Jennifer Lopez with her many lovers, one after the other, that she seems that she changes her boyfriends and husband more often as she changes underwear because she seems terrified to be alone .Paris Hilton with her sex tapes and police bust ups, Britney Spears with her horrifying and bizarre behavior or Angelina Jolie with her adultery and adoption scandals. Is because they know that their small talents would not be enough for a long carrier and so they create all this scandals because they obsessed with being the center of attention to feed their big egos and also gives them opportunities to squeeze more money from the public (form magazine sales, interviews and photo shoots etc.) so they can keep up with their large spending habit. A perfect example is Madonna, she has created a long carrier not because of her great talents and amazing voice, BECAUSE SHE HAS NO TALENTS WHAT SO EVER, but because she has a habit on creating this reticules scandals that draw attention to herself that makes her even more popular. Most of the celebrities out there have no talent , no education yet they are far more richer then a doctor or a scientist which is ridicules. I do not mind them getting a lot of many from making movies or music because thats how the business works and if particularly they are very gifted actors or artist but not because who sells the most gossip magazines. I used to like Britney Spears in her early days when she concentrated on being a good performer and an artist but now its amazing to thing that after everything she did in front of the media just to create attention to herself she is expecting the public to hand her enough money in order to bay her next crappy CD. AND THE SILLY THING IS THAT MOST OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WILL.

  19. I can’t get over all you haters and bigots who have nothing better to do but insult and discredit 2 NY Ricans that are trying to bring back a lil salsa spirit to the general public. There are lessons to be learned from a movie about a successful and talented star like Hector who tragically ended his life too soon due to addiction and tragedies. Stop being such haters and applaud Jennifer and Marc for standing up to the white bigoted media who’s trying to keep this movie down before it even hits theatres. Sigue Palante Jennifer & Marc!!
