Shia LaBeouf kicked out of ‘Cabaret’ & arrested, threw homophobic slur at cop

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf couldn’t cut it on Broadway last year, and now he’s trashing other people’s shows. This is an Instagrammed picture that shows Shia getting cuffed and arrested outside Studio 54. He was there to watch the latest Cabaret revival, and he got a little rowdy. Very rowdy.

It all started with Shia smoking in the theater, which isn’t allowed. Then he started smacking his fellow audience members’ butts and heads (what the…?). Then cops showed up to arrest Shia, who tried to run but … fell on his face. He was cuffed and dragged away. Before it was all over, Shia was threatening to end careers, hurling homophobic insults and spitting on the cops. They had to put him in a face mask! This douche:

Actor Shia LaBeouf was hauled off in handcuffs for acting like an aggressive jerk at a Broadway play – and then put in a face mask at a Manhattan police precinct when he wouldn’t stop spitting, sources told The Post.

The actor was busted at about 9:30 p.m. during a performance of Cabaret at Studio 54 in Midtown.

Sources said that the N-mphomaniac actor was annoying other theater goers by slapping random people on the behind and on the back of the head. He was also smoking.

When cops approached him, he tried to quickly walk away, but fell, so he was taken off in handcuffs as a crowed of shocked patrons looked on.

At the Midtown North precinct he got belligerent with officers, telling cops who were about to remove his hand cuffs: “F— you. I’ll f— you up,” sources said.

Cops decided to not take the cuffs off and he started spitting, prompting officers to put him in a face mask.

While being fingerprinted LaBeouf told one cop “I have millions and millions of dollars and attorneys and I’m going to ruin your career.” He then used a homophobic epithet at the officer doing the fingerprinting, calling him a “f-g.”

He’s been charged with criminal trespass, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to law enforcement sources.

After the bust one actor in the play reportedly joked about it on social media.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs. Yep, that just happened,” cast member Danny Burstein wrote on Facebook, according to the web site Just Jared.

[From Page Six]

Shia’s a complete menace. He doesn’t want to be famous, fine. But when he’s prone to getting his butt kicked for harassing drunk women and hopping into bar fights, he attracts all sorts of attention. Nobody got hurt last night unless you count the spitting. How disgusting. He can’t even act human long enough to not spit on policemen? This guy has some serious anger and reality issues.

Of course Shia threw in a homophobic slur for good measure. Do you think we’ll be getting another celebrity apology soon? My guess would be “no.” Shia doesn’t care (I could be wrong — he might care enough to plariarize one). I’m with Michael K. on this one: No one interrupts a dancing Alan Cumming and gets away with it. I don’t want to look at any photos of Shia right now, so here are some lovely backstage snaps from Alan’s Twitter. Auf wiedersehen! A bientot!

i assume a plagiarized apology is coming soon? what a douche.

    • Mmhmm says:

Can’t stand the guy at all. And I don’t think he has a mental illness, he’s a jerk and an attention whore who has grown up having everything given to him. I hope those Fury reshoots are happening to replace his scenes.

      • JessMa says:

I don’t know MM. I am beginning to think he may be mentally ill and is perhaps taking drugs. I feel like his behavior is going from douche to bizarre. With Brittany and Amanda they went from nice to strange. He could just be an asshole that is now experiencing mental illness.

      • Sacred And Profane says:

I didn’t know anything about this guy until I came on here. From what I’ve read, he’s a prize wanker.

      • Jo says:

I agree that he may be mentally ill. There’s pics of him harassing a homeless man on the Daily Mail. He thought the man stole his hat but he hadn’t. Anyway he was leaping about the guy acting like a complete loon.

    • Kiddo says:

      This is f*kin’ hilarious:

Two women in the audience thought that his outburst was an act, they told WABC.
“He was brilliant,” one said. “I thought he was working on a role or something.”

      from CNN:http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/26/showbiz/shia-labeouf-charged/

      Best performance, ever, by Shia?

      • Lindy79 says:

It really is, I think if I was there and saw it first hand I would have been howling with laughter at him.

      • Ag says:

        weird. haha

      • Kiddo says:

I think it’s a bit weird how the audience was drawn into it and that they called him ‘brilliant’. It says a lot about what passes for brilliance, no? Although maybe he’s very good at acting while drunk, but I would tend to doubt it since he fell on his face shortly after.

      • Kiddo says:

Maybe they thought he was the playing the role of a drunk guy.

    • LadyMacbeth ex Hiddles F. says:

Another one bites the dust… What a douche of universal dimension…. Glad they arrested him!

  2. lizzy says:

I mean, being a dick to police officers and trying to ruin a performance for fellow actors and spectators is truly a douche move.

But I find it hilarious that he tried to “walk quickly” and fell on his face in front off all those people while getting dragged away. HAHAHAHA!

  3. lower-case deb says:

i hope the Fury reshoots that’s happening soon is to take new scenes to replace the ones he’s in. as much as possible.

i really don’t want to see him on my big screen. no amount of Lerman-Pena sandwich is going to help me swallow that one.

    • doofus says:

what did I say yesterday?! I must have ESP…lol…

      • kri says:

Aaaaand….cue the Shia. Wow, re-appearing in spectacular fashion, impressing the universe with his class and awesomeness. Hey, Rob K, here is your chance to get out-call Shia up and arrange a trade-off. Kris Jenner could make trillions off this fool, and Rob could get some much-needed help. On second thought, I’m guessing Shia also needs to be on lockdown somewhere padded and quiet.

      • lower-case deb says:

        indeed you did!
i hope they Cut Him Out Permanently off the picture….

so what good deeds must i do to make this happen? *calls the volunteering club*.

  4. Kiddo says:

I recently saw Cabaret, the film with Liza Minnelli, a few weeks back on PBS. That was a fantastic movie, now I really get the Liza-love. Alan Cumming is a phenomenal actor and I think he is the perfect fit for Joel Grey’s role.

Anyway, maybe Shia is snorting the Gibson dust? Seriously, though, in light of his recent history, it seems he has some really troubling underlying mental health and/or addiction issues.

    • Sarah says:

And what’s awesome (continuing to focus on Cumming instead of LaBeouf) is that this is Alan Cumming’s third time in the role over several decades. He was recently interviewed on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, talking about what it’s like to perform the same character at different ages. The podcast is still available. It was a great interview. He’s supremely talented & such a mensch. Their discussion about bisexuality and his marriage to a man was also fascinating and insightful. Good stuff.

  5. elo says:

Love Alan Cumming! But aside, I suspect that La Douche has some serious addiction or mental issues. This isn’t just douche behavior, it’s unstable behavior. I hope he gets treatment for his issues and then disappears for a good long while. Another child actor bites the dust.

    • Luca26 says:

I agree it sounds like the behavior of someone with mental problems.

      • Kimble says:

        This^^^^

I think the people who are mocking this behaviour will end up eating their words – drug/alcohol/mental issues – Britney/Amanda/Shia anyone?

  6. mkyarwood says:

Jeez, with that kind of talk, somebody is looking for a time out.

  7. db says:

I think he’s mentally ill and perhaps suicidal.

  8. The Original Mia says:

Man, this sounds like an old ep of Las Vegas Jail. La Douche is a douche. Wonder what’s going to happen with Fury promotion. Will they hide him or pair him with Brad to keep his ass in line.

    • Kiki says:

Isn’t Brad Pitt looking for more oscar success in the acting department than last year as a producer. Because if he does, he and his production team will have some serious stuff to do with this incident.

But anyway, I knew this will come to this at sooner paste than never. That little brat got what he deserve. And he will have to give a serious apology, cause this plagiarizing this whatever is not going to fly with no one and no one messes with Alan Cummings, and I know that will fly with Neil Patrick Harris.

  9. Tig says:

It is getting scary- he really seems to be in the throes of some sort of breakdown. I hope his friends/family can convince him to get help.

    • Jaderu says:

Yeah, I think it’s gone way beyond paper bags and plagiarism or good old-fashioned douchyness. Unfortunately, it always seems that no one around these celebrities does anything to help. He doesn’t seem willing/or even able to help himself.

  10. Mia4S says:

Yikes, there are so many possibilities here. Mental illness? Hard drugs? Sheer douchiness? Two of those deserve sympathy and help (particularly the first), so I’m torn.

Hollywood forgives a lot, as long as you can work and work well. However it’s telling that he has nothing lined up and was replaced in a movie recently. Folks are jumping ship. The press tour for Fury could be…interesting.

    • Marianne says:

Yeah but look at RDJ. No one thought he would make a comeback.

      • Tippy says:

RDJ was essentially shunned by everyone in Hollywood and most assumed he’d end up in an early grave.

Fortunately for Downey, he still had at least one devoted friend in Jennifer Aniston.

FRIENDS star Jennifer Aniston has shown ROBERT DOWNEY JR. some much needed affection by secretly visiting the troubled actor in California’s toughest jail. Robert, who’s in jail serving a three- year-sentence for violating probation on a 1996 drug charge, had been brutally beaten up by violent inmates and almost choked to death. Despite being anti-drugs, the Friends stunner spent two hours offering comfort, support and hope to Robert who is in CORCORAN JAIL. After her visit Downey said, “Jennifer was there for me when other so-called friends turned their backs. Thanks to her, I have hope, a way out… Before there was none. I’d even thought of doing myself a favor by ending it all”. The CHAPLIN star spoke of his gratitude to Jennifer in a conversation with his former agent and lifelong friend Jerry Goldstein who went to see him in prison on his 35th birthday. Goldstein says, “He’s like a frightened rabbit. Overtures were made to several Hollywood stars to go to see him. Only Jennifer Aniston did and it’s just about saved Downey’s life. God bless you, Jennifer.”

      • Valois says:

Didn’t Mel Gibson and Gwyneth Paltrow visit him, too?

    • Lucy2 says:

MTE- it may be a combo of the 3. Dude needs help, whatever is going on, someone is going to end up hurt.
He’s burning a lot of bridges, but someday if someone has faith in him and he gets his life together, maybe a comeback.

  11. bammer says:

    Drugs?

  12. Marlene says:

Shia LaDouche needs help, he obviously has issues.

  13. Sixer says:

Well, at least we got some Alan Cumming. I love that man.

  14. Lindy79 says:

Its my life’s mission to see Alan Cumming in that role.

Oh yeah, and Shia is an a-hole, no shock there.

  15. Kimmy says:

Is that Michelle Williams in that group pic that Alan posted???

    • AG-UK says:

Yes that is Michelle Williams, she never smiles in most photos but it’s her

    • Heh says:

Yes, it is. Cabaret with Cumming and Williams is a very hot show in NYC now, and priced accordingly. LaBeouf not only showed incredible rudeness to the actors, but ruined the night for probably many people who saved up at least a bit to get to go to a show where tickets can be $200/person.

I’m not sure he’s mentally ill – I don’t know but neither does anyone else. I think it’s addiction, very bad character and possibly, maybe, borderline personality disorder. Some people are just worthless pieces of shit and I think he’s one of them. He’s used racist language against others for years now, plagiarizes, has made many sexist comments and is arrogant. I don’t feel sorry for him at all.

  16. AG-UK says:

He’s gross on all levels, mediocre actor to boot. Just go away far far away and take your crazy with you. Was he a Disney kid too??

  17. in_theory says:

“No one interrupts a dancing Alan Cumming and gets away with it.” Exactly.

  18. Francis says:

Studio 54. Always a place of a lot of action. 🙂

  19. Tippy says:

Spitting on a cop or anyone else is now usually considered Assault by Means of Bodily Fluid.

I assume that the facemask was similar to the one worn by Anthony Hopkins in “Silence of the Lambs”.

Hopefully TMZ can get some good video.

  20. Faye says:

If he’s homophobic, what was he doing at Cabaret? Wrong show, no? Just saying.

  21. Adrien says:

Don’t care about Shia Beowulfwhatever. There’s Alan Cumming to brighten up our day.

  22. FLORC says:

Can someone explain to me why it’s called a “homophobic” slur?
If someone says something terrible commenting about someone’s sexuality is it just assumed to be said out of fear? That word makes little sense to me. Hate and fear are not the same and Shia is likely saying this more out of hate than fear.

Or is that just a way people turn the slur back on those who use it? You’re saying something insulting so we’ll say you’ve only used it because you fear them.

That’s what little sense I can make of it. It seems to be incorrectly used.
And Shia’s awful so this is no shock. AC is awesome. Always.

    • Faye says:

It’s just the term that’s come into use – linguistically inaccurate, yes, but so much of English technically is. Nobody’s trying to diminish how bad it is, or excuse hatred masquerading as fear.

    • Tippy says:

“Homophobia” was introduced by gay activists in the late 80’s as a substitute for the phrase “Gay Bashing”

It’s intent was to characterize those who speak out or commit offenses against homosexuals as mentally defective.

      • FLORC says:

That’s too bad. They sort of sunk to their level. Not the physical violence, but hurting with words that aren’t used accurately.
        Thanks Faye andKiddo too!
        Appreciated the explanations.

    • Kiddo says:

I could see the fear being an element in the hate. Some groups hate homosexuality because they fear it will overtake them like a virus would.

  23. eliza says:

I don’t know why people say he has mental health issues? There are people in this world who are simply awful human beings and mental health has nothing to do with it

He is an attention seeking loser who has always felt he was a better actor than he actually is. I never saw what people thought was so terrific about him. He is ugly inside and out, unprofessional, egotistical and an asshole. Nothing good about him at all.

I hope he becomes a pariah in Hollywood as never having to see his face or hear his name again would delight me.

    • Tig says:

My feeling it’s some sort of mental illness is due to the escalation of bizarre behavoir. Goodness knows I’m no diagnostician, but clearly there’s a ratcheting up of the outbursts. I hope it doesn’t come to him harming himself.

      • eliza says:

In my opinion, it is less about mental illness and more about being a supreme prick and attention needy. Like you, I am no diagnostician, but I just think he is simply awful as a human being.Lol.

      • Jayna says:

Exactly, Tig. It is escalating and he has destroyed his career.

    • Kristin says:

I agree with you Eliza. I get a little weary with the constant jump to concluding that mental illness is a factor when someone behaves like this. He’s a dick. He’s always been a dick. Plus he has a long history of alcohol abuse. I think that alcohol abuse, more than any underlying mental illness, may be a contributing factor here. But overall, he’s just a dick.

  24. Talie says:

He has no respect. To come into a performance of other actors and ruin it — what a terrible person he is.

  25. blueb says:

If this is how he acts in public, imagine what he’s like in private….

  26. Jayna says:

People are dissing him like this is normal behavior. It’s not and never was for him. The point is something is drastically wrong with him. This isn’t the normal Shia from years ago. The paper bag over his head at a press conference or wherever it was, on and on, very abnormal behavior getting progressively worse the past year and a half. It’s disturbing. I suspect it’s mental illness when him self-medicating with drugs and alcohol. I hope it’ not schizophrenia. It’s very sad and I’m sure his family is so worried. It’s past doucheness. He has literally ruined his career with bizarre behavior.

    • lisa2 says:

      ITAWY..

we have seen this time and time. Brittney Spears, Amanda Bynes, Mariah Carrey (to some degree) and yep even Kanye West.

These things start out as WTF moments then get worst. I think he is having some serious mental break. Not funny to me.

and notice like the people I mentioned some of them are always by themselves. I have seen him with his girlfriend, but never with Male friends. I don’t know who will be able to intervene.

    • Tiffany :) says:

But it IS regular behavior for him. He has been in numerous bar fights over the years. He tried to beat up Tom Hardy on the moonshine movie they made. He has had outbursts and violent tendancies for a long time now, usually when he is drunk.

    • Mr. Stinky FishFace says:

I fully agree with you. This seems beyond normal, far far far beyond normal. I really hope someone steps in and tries to pull him back to reality before he hurts himself or someone else.

  27. GIRLFACE says:

Poor guy. I think he’s just delusional and drug-addled. At least he’s not trying to bank on it.

  28. Decloo says:

He needs to be cast immediately in London’s ‘Speed the Plow.’

  29. Izzy says:

I hope they gave the little pr!ck a cavity search when they arrested him.

  30. M says:

Why is it that when people act stupid at times, some say they have a mental illness. Some people do have mental illness, but people can also be idiots. Shia just sounds like an a hole and there are also plenty of them in the world. I have a feeling he was also drunk.

  31. Bubulle says:

Either he is trying to emulate or should I say plagiarize Joaquin Phoenix’ I’m still there or he is just plain crazy.

  32. Bread and Circuses says:

Eek. It’s funny, and it’s not funny. I honestly don’t think he’s quite right, mentally, and wealth buys insulation — even from necessary interventions.

  33. Tig says:

Oh no-the “rest of the story” aspect is starting to hit the air.

  34. Marianne says:

I think this is less likely to be shia being a douche and more likely, that he has some sort of drug problem.

  35. Cora says:

It turns out Shia had been drinking all day and he terrorized a poor homeless man before he went to Studio 54. Chased the poor man through the streets. There are photos of it. It could be Shia has a straight up alcohol problem. He drinks and he gets aggressive.

  36. MrsBPitt says:

He must have been wasted…a drunken fool…didn’t I read that his father had alcohol issues?

  37. Kim says:

Two years ago I said Amanda was mentally ill.Shia is mentally Ill and violent. He is worse than Amanda he is dangerous to others.

  38. maxine7 says:

He is ill and probably has a drug problem. The news stations here in NY are reporting he was smoking pot and physically assaulting other audience members.

  39. aquarius64 says:

LaBoeuf showed himself to be a slug when he stated in an interview he slept with Megan Fox while she was separated from her husband Brian Austin Green. Even if it were true it was a low move.

    • GIRLFACE says:

^Yeah. Grossest couple ever? Remember when she said she was the next Angelina Jolie? LoL.

  40. Chris says:

For some people having too much money and too much spare time is a recipe for going around the twist.

  41. Liz says:

He’s a douche with a drug problem. He’s chosen to cope with life by drinking and/ doing drugs.

  42. Zooyork says:

Just on a superficial note, I do find Shia is hot.
