Miley Cyrus wrote & performed a mournful song for her dead blowfish

I hate goodbyes 💔😿💔😿

A photo posted by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on

Three months ago, Miley Cyrus Instarammed this photo of one of pets, Pablow the blowfish. The caption, “I hate goodbyes,” indicated that poor Pablow was no longer of this Earth. Miley has more pets than I can count, but she loves all of them deeply. When Miley lost her favorite dog, Floyd, last year, she tweeted her sadness and pain for months.

With the loss of Pablow, Miley wrote a heart-wrenching song as part of her new Backyard Sessions for the Happy Hippie Foundation. Miley donned a unicorn onesie as she sang a mournful tune penned in Pablow’s honor. You really have to hear the song to understand the depths of Miley’s emotion.

People transcribed the song’s lyrics, which look a little odd on paper. But Miley’s delivery is so sad, and she’s genuinely crying over her fish. Who are these friends who ate sushi in front of her after Pablow died? How rude. Miley also got a tattoo of Pablow after his death. He was a sweet looking fish.

In general I don’t like her (she irritates the hell out of me), but the way she loves her animals makes me like her just a little bit. I feel like if she loves her animals and treats them well, deep down she must be an ok person, albeit a bit nuts.
    Does that even make sense?

    • Indira says:

You know, I used to think like this about my ex. Who btw began our relationship when I was 17 and he was 25. Do those numbers sound familiar? Learned the hard way that his deep love for animals did not make him a good person in other respects.

      • wonderwoman21 says:

Wow i struggled the same. I was in a “relationship” with a man who completely disrespected me, treated me like I was an object, cheated on me, lied to, etc. But he was so kind to his dogs and animals, it made me think he was good deep down. But no, he sas an abusive, manipulative, selfish person through and through.

*not implying any of this applies to Mikey.

    • qwerty says:

Yeah, you’re not much of an animal lover if you walk around dressed in leather. She loves HER animals, I’ll give her that.

      • Liv says:

Yeah, she loves them so much that two of her dogs died. Seriously, she’s not an responsible petowner and I doubt very much that she knows what love is.

      • Sarah says:

So if you have a pet that dies, it’s your fault?

  2. Kiddo says:

There’s something oddly endearing about her, for me.

    • Shambles says:

She just has such a big heart, man. She’s way too much approximately 90% of the time, but you just can’t help but love her. She feels a lot, and IMO that’s one of the qualities that makes a good artist. I think the song is really sweet.

      • aang says:

I agree. She comes across as sweet. I can forgive the antics because she seems harmless enough. Plus she was pretty great in Hannah Montana.

      • Lady D says:

I like her too. She gets such a hard time from so many, I really feel for her.

  3. LetItB! says:

That is so sad. RIP Pablow

  4. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

That was so ridiculous, and silly, and sad and endearing and moving. It made me have tears in my eyes. Wearing a unicorn onesie and singing about a dead fish is something only a person who has loved and lost a pet can understand. I loved her for it. I’m sure she will get on my nerves again, but I wanted to hug her just now.

    • Shambles says:

I started tearing up as soon as she started to sing about how Pablow didn’t know what a cloud is. I’ll add one to the Miley group hug. Fare thee well in the great coral reef in the sky, Pablow.

    • MyCatLoves TV says:

I so agree! Miley was so vulnerable and sad. I generally don’t like her antics but seeing this made me feel like she is really a child and is going to have antics. This made me cry. Like she said….damn.

“Who are these friends who ate sushi in front of her after Pablow died? How rude.”

Agreed. Some people just don’t make the connection at all, but others are so cruel they can’t possibly be ignorant about the consequences.

Rabbit meat is getting more popular right now, and fur is somehow okay in many circles too… and as the owner of two beloved rescued rabbits, I hear horrible comments on a regular basis about my pets being “delicious”. Even cashiers suggest that I should prepare a rabbit dish with my parsley and cilantro, rather than feeding my parsley and cilantro to my PET RABBITS. Why?! Would someone say that about a cat or dog?! They roam free in my home and come when I call them and snuggle and jump for joy and burst with unique little personalities. Their lives are more valuable than a few “delicious” meals. (Incidentally, I feel the same way about pigs and cows and chickens and all animals… but when it’s a family member and they’re joking about slaughtering it, it’s a whole new level of cruelty.)

In fact… my friend lost her rabbit suddenly, and when she told a family member, this was their reaction: “Ooooh, are you going to turn him into a coat now?!”

    HUMANS SUCK.

  6. Willa says:

    Gawd…

  7. Viv says:

“But watching my friends eat my friend ruined my appetite.”

The Bob Dylan of her generation….

  8. Celebitchy says:

OMG that made me cry! How can a song about a dead blowfish be so affecting?! That was incredible and heartfelt.

  9. lala says:

    I laughed and cried….lol.smh..

  10. Renee says:

I am sorry. I am vegan and I am laughing at this. I have been broken when pets have died but I can’t with this. I am sorry. It’s a cute song and has a catchy melody but…

    • Lady D says:

Fish aren’t my idea of a pet either. As far as I’m concerned, they rank right down there with birds. I personally prefer a pet you can walk. Miley, however, feels genuine grief over the loss of her pet. #Respectthepain.

      • Ange says:

I haven’t really owned fish but friends of mine have and if you spend a little time watching them in action they really do come through and show off quite the little personalities.

    • Renee says:

Oh, I wasn’t suggesting that fish aren’t real pets. She seems to be really into her animal companions and I suspect that her emotions are genuine. The song just seems like a Saturday Night Live parody or something.

  11. Soporificat says:

Objectively it is a pretty bad song, but then again, it made me cry for real, so maybe it was a pretty great song.

  12. L says:

I have hermit crabs and can relate to this song. I have had a few die and I have cried for each one. I Know I am in control of their habitat and feel souly responsible in providing a ideal living environment. I saw one crab struggle for its life after a big move across country. The crab could not handle it. It lies on it’s side for over a week, out of its shell, breathing was shallow and slow. When I would come near it, the crab would start to panic. It knew it was in a vulnerable state. It’s breathing would pick up and he would try to move but could not…it died soon after.

    • Soporificat says:

I’m so sorry, L. That’s really sad. It’s painful to lose a friend, even if that friend is a crab. It’s even worse if you felt you failed the friend in some way, or if you saw them suffering and there was nothing you could do to help.

I felt the same way when my cat died. It’s been 8 years and it is still painful to think about too much.

  13. Jenna says:

    This is so sad?!

  14. Magpie says:

It sounded like a Regina Spector song and the lyrics were great. I like Miley. She is way more talented than riri, katy or Taylor imo and she’ ll go on to reinvent herself again and again as she gets older.

  15. The Original Original says:

Are you guys serious? She is completely out of her mind or on something.
I am a huge animal lover and have cried over the loss of a fish before….
This is bat sh*t crazy though.

    • QQ says:

God, Thank you.. I thought i was Losing My Mind or the thread dropped acid LOL and I say this as a CRAZY dog Lady I’m sitting here with the biggest BAROO? Face there is

    • LisD says:

      ^^^This x10000000

  16. Hateonit. says:

It’s cute. I can’t stand her but the song is pretty cute.

  17. Nymeria says:

She comes across in this video as someone with genuine psychological problems. Given her upbringing and past behaviour, I suspect this to be the case. People who collect pets like this have usually been starved for affection as children. Something to think about.

Who was taking care of Pablow? Was it she, was it a staffer? Saltwater tanks are very delicate environments, and it takes a lot of care, a lot of effort, and even a little math to keep a saltwater tank healthy. I’m really curious to see the size of the tank, the specific gravity of the water, the temperature, the co-inhabitants (if any), and so forth.

  18. Um… this is hysterical. I have been reading this site for time and enjoy some of the clever comments, but I’m officially rolling my eyes and giggling. Really? I mean, really? If this is not a joke her unicorn onesie was seriously out of line. I thought the thread was going to be so , so different. It honestly makes me rethink some of the audience. Not to be redundant, but seriously? For **** sake, it’s Miley cyrus, in a uni onsie, singing about a dead fish. Anyone???? Love, a super entertained, but equally mortified 26 year vegetarian. (Btw- this site should have like/dislike capability)

  19. serena says:

She has a good voice, who can sing such an emotional song about a blowfish pet? I like her, because I think she’s a good person under her stunt antics. If only her songs were less about being naked and with more contents..

  20. mytbean says:

    This can’t be serious.
