These are photos from the Chanel pre-Oscars dinner last night in LA. They got a good turnout, with everyone in Chanel. Brie Larson, who is definitely going to win Best Actress tonight, was in this strapless Chanel black metallic top and skirt combo. This is a separate top and skirt as I see the skirt in the photos from the pre-fall 2016 runway. The skirt is hot and I like the look overall, but the top is like a slightly different shade of black. I think this is the top she’s wearing. It’s like it’s supposed to go with a different skirt, but that’s a minor complaint. I love how she looks completely different when she switches up her styling.
Brie also wore Chanel to the Spirit Awards, so it makes me wonder if she’ll be in Chanel tonight too, as Kaiser mentioned earlier.
Ellie Bamber (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) is wearing this crazy ruffled blue and pink metallic dress which we just saw on Amy Adams on the cover of Marie Claire. This is of course Chanel, this dress is crazy and there’s something very theatrical about it.
Lily Collins played it much safer in a navy crop top with short sleeves and a long flowing skirt. This isn’t bad and it’s somewhat forgettable but at least it looks comfortable.
Dakota Fanning was in a very cute little black strapless dress in a rich fabric. She paired it with a lace embellished jacket. This is lovely.
Julie Delpy was like Mrs. Roper meets couture in this voluminous tiered gown. I like the drama of this gown. It looks so bizarre but there’s also something awesome about it.
Her style is so very 90s, but not in a good way. Rachel from Frineds would have worn that.
Apart from Lily and Dakota, everyone else looks awful.
She has a killer body for sure! Everything looks good on her!
Trashy look but Brie pulls it off, very confidently! Julie Delpy gave up, she’s wearing a moo moo. I just watched the whole “Before the… ” trilogy last night and she was sooo delightful in it, love her even in this outfit.
With Brie it just seems like she never owns her look. I don’t know much about her and it looks to me that she is just wearing the cloths that her stylist has picked for her. As I said I don’t know much about her personality. It looks like they are trying to figure out what works for her; and very few of the cloths she has worn this season reflect her.
This has been really a boring Awards Season. Lots of hits and misses; but nothing really memorable. I can’t get excited by seeing any of the nominees on the RC. No one is bringing any excitement or anticipation. There have been so many events and they all just seem to run together. I don’t see the Oscar Red Carpet being any different.

I don’t mind Brie’s, the skirt is a bit Hefty plastic, but she looks good.

The 90s are back, it’s official. When I’m looking at mainstream clothing stores like old navy and I see the silky spaghetti strap dresses and daisy and sunflower prints of my elementary school days, it’s official. Sigh.
Also, with Brie Larsen, I always think of Charlie Sheens girlfriend, wasn’t she Brie Olsen? Close enough.
Brie looks so boring in everything she wears because she’s just so vanilla to me.
I’m obsessed with Lily’s outfit and hair here. I think it’s simple and fun. I mean she’s not up for any awards so she doesn’t need to shine.
Brie is one of these actresses that just doesn’t stand out to me for some reason. I find her so very bland. Her outfits are usually a miss for me. This skirt is fugly, it looks like an ill fitted garbage bag. Lily is the only one I like here.
I cannot believe people pay so much money for these. Like i wouldnt buy most of these in sale at the local mall.

Larson’s outfit looks very cheap. Bad shiny material. The other outfits are hideous, too.
Does anyone know who makes the LilyCollins outfit??? Or a similar knockoff?
I feel like Brie Larson is out of focus and could possibly come into focus with brown hair and brown eyebrows, and makeup and clothes going with her colouring.
I Just can’t bring myself to care for her one way or another. Not seeing her x-factor. She should Work on a way to stand out or even her oscar won’t make people care. * Huge shrug.

Delpy’s dress reminds me of Bob Mackey Wearable Art (btw, I own the one that looks like this that I found at a thrift store and I love it)
