Susan Boyle to appear on Oprah with Simon Cowell on Monday

We’re finally going to get to hear Scottish wonder Susan Boyle sing again. The 48 year-old “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant wowed the world nearly a month ago with a haunting version of “I Dreamed a Dream” that went on to become the most viewed video clip on the Internet of all time. Susan has appeared in interviews broadcast all over the world, but apart from a quick A cappella version of “My Heart Will Go On” on Larry King Live she hasn’t performed anything other than “I Dreamed a Dream” for reporters.

All of that may change on The Oprah Winfrey show on Monday. Susan will give cameras a tour of her modest home, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she sings a new song on the show. Simon Cowell will also premiere other new talent in that episode:

The singing sensation Susan Boyle and the man who judges her on “Britain’s Got Talent,” Simon Cowell, are coming on Oprah Winfrey’s show for a special episode.

In an episode titled “The Oprah Winfrey Show: The World’s Got Talent,” Simon will address the rumors of him leaving “American Idol,” while Susan welcomes cameras into her home in Scotland for her debut appearance on Oprah’s program.

In addition to Susan, Simon will also debut artists from around the world that he calls “the next big thing.”
The musical episode of Oprah will air Monday, May 11.

Susan hasn’t won “Britain’s Got Talent” and still needs to go on to compete in the next round. There is such massive interest in her that clips are sure to hit the Internet as soon as she makes a follow up appearance. I can’t wait to hear what she sings on Oprah and to see another interview with her. Susan has captured my interest with her compelling story and marvelous voice. I know a lot of you have tired of her but I find her so inspiring that I would run a new Susan Boyle story every day if I thought we could get away with it. This woman is poised to become just as successful, if not more so, than the British singer she mentioned in her audition, Elaine Paige.

Susan Boyle is shown outside her house on 5/4/09 and 5/6/09. Her zipper is half undone, but who among us hasn’t had that happen? Credit: BARM/Fame Pictures

I really, really hope she succeeds, and I give her props for updating her look, but did you have to post photos of her with her shirt gaping and her fly open?

  2. ash says:

OH NO! Why post those pictures!? And why didn’t the photographer tell her something! That’s terrible. Oh that Susan, gotta love her.

  3. Patrice says:

This s*&# makes me sick! What’s she going to go on and talk about? How ONE TIME she went on a ridiculous talent show and sang a song (mediocrely) and everyone was super impressed because she isn’t very attractive? God, talk about stretching out 2 minutes of fame. Don’t any of us have anything better to do? At least the “Octomom” story had legs.

  4. BWeaves says:

Patrice: I’ve heard her sing more than once, and her voice is truly amazing. Susan has true talent, unlike Octomom who is just a fame whore. I have no idea what she’s going to talk about on Oprah, but if Oprah wants you, you don’t turn her down, I guess.

i love her! keep her coming!

edit for: OH MY GOD, somebody should have said something!! bad shirt + bad pants = 🙁

  6. Ashley says:

How did Nicole Richie get involved in this?

  7. JohnnieR says:

Nicole Richie and Susan Boyle are rumoured to be an item.

    Bwahahahahahaha!

Seriously, though, I’m afraid that I too think this whole Boyle thing is completely overrated. One song sung, and, I agree, the whole world goes bonkers because the poor woman is nobody’s idea of conventional beauty.

I suspect the more people hear her sing the less impressed they will be. She was AWFUL singing “Memory” this week; if she’d sung that in the first round we wouldn’t be sitting her talking about her today. The other two tracks that are posted on YouTube don’t exactly show any sparkling talent, either. She’s an above-average church choir/Broadway musical-style singer just like many thousands of others around the world. Without the back-story and the manufactured controversy, she wouldn’t have even been broadcast.
