Prince William & Kate confirm that they are keen to move to London full-time

wenn30747059

In the wake of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s bad decision to spend the entire Christmas holiday with the Middleton family, they were facing a load of bad press. That bad decision was of course compounded by William and Kate’s always-low end-of-year work numbers, which were still struggling for 2016. So what did Will and Kate and Poor Jason do? They schemed! They schemed to draw out the speculation about 2017 being the year that they FINALLY moved to London and really got keen about royal work. The Middletons’ Christmas dinner was barely digested when the British papers got the tip-off that the Cambridges would likely be moving to London full-time in the spring or summer. A few weeks later, there was another reminder. And since those planted stories were now officially on everyone’s radar, Kensington Palace issued a formal statement about it:

Basically, everything that we’ve already heard already is true, only now William is getting slightly terse about it, which makes sense because I think he gets his royal panties in a wad whenever anyone “expects” anything of him. Now people expect him to move to London full-time… because that was what his press secretary leaked as damage control after Christmas. Also: “…are keen to continue to increase their official work…” Poor Jason just can’t help himself. Will and Kate are always so keen about everything. No, that’s not true. They’re only keen about people reporting that they’re keen.

Also: what I’ve been saying still holds. William will probably be done with the EAAA in March/April and their now-official move to London won’t happen until late summer/early fall. They aren’t going to be keen to work in 2017, not when they’re enjoying their lengthy spring and summer holidays before they really “gear up” to work in the fall, right?

The word “keen” is starting to become one of those nonsense words to me where you read it too often and it stops making sense.

    SO KEEN

    • Ashamed 2 b a Fl girl says:

      bigly

    • Sixer says:

I think Kaiser should put KEEN in the title of every article about these two to troll them (I suspect she might have been doing this already a little bit).

And we should all have a competition to write the best KEEN tongue twister.

      • Amelia says:

Keen Katie Bucket Kicked the Bucket Full of Hem Weights Careening Down the Crooked Stairs.

        A starting point :3

      • Digital Unicorn (aKa Betti) says:

Keen Katie was Keen about Keeness but Keen Katie just couldn’t bring the keeness when the keeness mattered keenly

      • Sixer says:

Katie Keen kaught a kiddie king. Keeping keen kept Katie Keen keen to kontinue keeping keen. Kause keeping keen is Katie Keen’s LAZY ARSED FEEDBACK LOOP.

        Or something!

      • frisbee says:

Katie can’t come Kleen about being Keen, She bemuses with Keen, She confuses with Keen without Keen (oh Sod this) SHE’D HAVE TO PAY HER OWN EFFING BILLS.
This tongue twisters stuffs tricky innit?

      • bluhare says:

I’m Killing myself with your Komedy! Katie’s Kredit Kards will be KonfisKated!!

    • INeedANap says:

I hope there is an English drag queen going by the name Duchess Keenerine of Cambridge.

    • Cee says:

      Duke and Duchess of Keen.

    • Potato Chip says:

The Duke and Duchess of Keenbridge, I presume?

    • Paula says:

The royal family have made sensible changes to the early life of royals. The Queen has said often that being unable to be in her children’s lives as much as they needed is a regret. Princess Diana said being pushed into full time royal life straight away was hard. They have had 5 years part time royal work while William was still in the forces and then air ambulance pilot a role that is not being filled because of lack of qualified pilots. Now they are turning full time something William said would happen as he said when he became air ambulance pilot that the job would only last one year two at the most. So they are moving full time to London George has been enrolled into a school that has 3 sites letting him go to the same school from 4 to 18. His father said he didn’t like boarding school and now William has shown he wants his son to go to a day school. Charlotte has been enrolled into a nursery school in London.

      • graymatters says:

        Not exactly a correction, but…
The Queen parented at a time of 6-month long royal tours, not the occasional week or two away as is currently the case. Diana seemed eager to get to work when she first married, and refused the advice HM provided in the form of particular Ladies in Waiting. The complaining came out during the War of the Waleses when Di was going for the sympathy vote. It’s not so much a lack of qualified pilots as funding that affects the air ambulance. One thing about a military drawdown, you do end up with a lot of qualified pilots looking for work. Charles hated Gordonstone in Scotland. And.. Cheams.. I think… in the days when bullying was seen as healthy boys-being boys behavior. He would likely have been happier at Eton. The Cambridges haven’t publicly commented on the boarding school question. I wouldn’t be surprised if G&C went to day schools, but I expect they’ll board. The Middleton 3 all went and did well enough.

  2. MunichGirl says:

I think Kate and Wills didn’t have one positive article on the Daily Mail this year. Every single one of them was a “let’s throw them under the bus” article.

    • Sarah says:

I can’t believe Jason is stupid enough to actually use the word “keen” anymore. He has to know that it has been mocked worldwide, doesn’t he??

  3. Mrs.Curious says:

“They’re only keen about people reporting that they’re keen.” – You hit the nail right on the head, Kaiser.

    • Megan says:

Given what she spent on clothes last year, Kate is no doubt keen to be moving to London. Far better shopping than in Norfolk.

  4. Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Coincidence that this was quietly dropped on Inauguration day, not! Duke and Duchess Pissyness of Keen are clearly not happy about having to do more work.

Plus what’s with all the Middleton wedding nonsense that’s in in the Fail – am really not interested in wedding photos of them in Uncle Gary’s wedding party. The Fail and Cambridge PR team are really really trying to make Pippa and the rest of the Middleton Mafia happen aren’t they. Sigh, the more work the Dolittles do the more the Middletons will get shoved in our faces. I wonder if Queen Carole will be moving to KP to ‘help’ Kate run her household – you just know that’s coming. That could be what the snit was over xmas – Carole moving into KP was refused.

Jason you need to update your thesaurus – there are other words than ‘keen’.

    • amy says:

This PR article about Uncle Gary’s wedding was so stupid but hey, Mama Middleton just don’t want us to forget that Pippa will marry in May.

    • Wait&See says:

What surprised me is that some people really think it wasn’t Carole who gave the old footage about Uncle Gary’s wedding to the DM.

    • TheOtherOne says:

Yeah it was on People and US Weekly too. As an American I was trying to live through the inauguration when the article popped up. I’m like really??? Who the eff cares when this walking disaster is taking office.

Off topic- the Daily Fail has pics of MM at Mumbai airport. She spent five days there completing her charity commitment with World Vision. Correct me if I am wrong, but does this mean she has done more work than KM already??!! If so, keep it up MM.

    • Megan says:

I think Christmas was about William having some sort of spat with his father.

    • Tessiecat says:

Tired of being stunned by how stunning everyone looks too…

  5. Becky says:

Now they’re getting negative press they are keen? Right.

  6. Ellie says:

If they hate to be out in public and to work, what’s the upside to moving to London for them? Just wondering. Wouldn’t that just increase their visibility and make it even more obvious how little they work?

  7. alfaQ says:

Every time William attends a royal dutie, I imagine how he threw a tantrum before they forced him to go to “work”.

  8. Ever bloom says:

I have side aches from laughing too much because of the DM comments, apparently some Middleton seems to have leaked out an old footage of uncle Gary’s wedding.

  9. jmo says:

“Poor” PW – all he wants to be is full-time Bill Middleton.

  10. Citresse says:

    No more children it seems.
I didn’t get to view Kate’s latest attempt at public speaking. It is nice to see her trying at least.

  11. Karen says:

It says their home will continue to be Norfolk, and they will increase their time in London. So, what does that mean? Weekend helicopters to Norfolk? Is George in boarding school? It’s an odd way to write a release, as if they’re not actually moving to London.

    • Deedee says:

You have a “keen” eye. My guess is they’re not really moving to London. They are just saying they will spend more time in London. As in a few hours more in London. They’ll have a handful of extra engagements and Waity will spend a few more hours at Wimbledon.

      • Chrissy says:

Oh, I think Keen Katie and the Monstrous Midds will be camping out at Wimbledon for the whole two weeks. She’ll spend millions on new outfits for every day and then say, “see, I work so so hard!”

  12. Lainey says:

There’ll be a pregnancy announcement around august September. She’ll be pregnant so she won’t be able increase her numbers.
The wordings really interesting. They won’t become full time working royals just increasing numbers- same with London. My guess is numbers won’t go above 200

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

If they go into treble digits it won’t be by much plus the won’t be full time royals unless they are forced to i.e. he becomes Prince of Wales where he will have no other choice to be a full time work royal supporting his father.

And yes there will be another pregnancy by the end of the year which will be the reason why she spends a lot of time in Amner while he does whatever he likes in London.

    • HappyMom says:

      This!

    • bluhare says:

I noticed the very careful wording as well. It sounds like they won’t be living there full time for a while.

  13. Hope says:

How times have changed .. From Prince William to Bill Middleton. Sad.

  14. Khaleesi says:

The third pic, what a smug face William has there.

    • Citresse says:

I thought so too. He made that face a lot around 6 months of age after filling a diaper, I suspect.

  15. LucyHoneychurch says:

Let’s face it. She’s going to get pregnant this year (probably right after Pippa’s wedding, if I had to guess) and then there won’t be any work for the rest of the year. They might even try to spin it as a “surprise” pregnancy and decide to delay the move to London over it.

    • Ravine says:

You know, I wouldn’t be so sure about her getting pregnant again. My unverifiable gut feeling is that Will doesn’t want more kids. He doesn’t seem emotionally mature enough to accept him & his wife being “outnumbered” by children.

  16. Karli says:

I wonder if Carole M. is aware of Kate and William’s unpopularity. I mean her goal was that her daughter will be Queen Consort one day but she definitely won’t be a popular one.

  17. EO1 says:

Stupid question but do you guys think PW is faithful?

    • Ever bloom says:

I think he isn’t. Waity doesn’t care, it all comes with territory or something like that.

      • Mamunia says:

No. He’s been bored with her since before they married. She accepts it’s part of the deal. “Do you want me to be the first Prince of Wales without a mistress?” said Charles to Diana.

    • Cerys says:

I think he probably is. Not because of any great love for Waity but because he is too lazy.

    • Lorelai says:

I think he is, but grudgingly. It would be too easy to get caught these days.

    • Chrissy says:

      Who would want him?

    • Yolanda says:

Like Lorelai said, it’s so easy for him to get caught. I think he’s faithful, at least for now.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

A man is only as faithful as his options. Bill Middleton probably does not have that many options (as he is lacking in looks, personality, and humour), and even then he has to know that he is far likelier to get caught in this day and age. So my guess is that he is faithful currently, but that is always open to change.

      • graymatters says:

If he’s willing to be more generous (in terms of gifts, jewelry, etc.) with his mistress than with his wife, he’ll probably get more options for fkbuddies.

  18. IlsaLund says:

Sorry, I know this is totally off topic. But can our British Celebitchies provide an update on George Michael? I’m a huge fan and was wondering if there’s been a memorial service for him? I can’t find any information here in the States. Thanks.

    • @IlsaLund says:

I think there are no new news, except that a lot of stupid ex partners start talking to the DM etc.

  19. Cerys says:

I’ll believe it when i see it. They have been “keen” to do more “work” for years but it has never happened. The excuses will soon flow.

  20. PHAKSI says:

W+K act as if people will be able to squish their noses against the windows of their London home.

  21. Kitty says:

I have accepted the fact that when The Queen passes, all bets are off and there must be a miracle for the monarchy to be okay once The Queen passes. Really after The Queen we have Charles and William? Okay….

    • Citresse says:

Then, if George takes after dad and grandpa Middleton, we’ll have King George Middleton spending his off time at Buckleberry Castle playing rounds of golf and smoking cigars with cousin Goldsmith.

  22. Tan says:

Was looking some old posts on will and kate and celebitchy has always been consistent about Kate and her workshy nature and how her most important job was getting to marry will.

But readers then were optimistic and now no more

I found it a true testament of this wb and its observation power

    • tracy says:

well she stalked the wrong guy, she wanted a life of no work, staff, endless shopping sprees, and hallo how is that working for her, she has failed miserably, she should just leave, I am sure she will be paid handsomely!!

  23. bitchy says:

Kate and William: more work? You aren’t deceiving anybody. Those two will always try to get away with doing a despicable minimum of work.

Not enough shops and shopping centres for Kate in Norfolk, I suppose? Missing London’s clubs and shops? Now that sister Pippa has married that Terribly Rich James Matthews guy I suppose there will be more family fun in London? Dear brother Terribly Poor James Middleton is based in / close to London, too.

  24. Susan says:

All I can think about is the millions of pounds that were poured into Anmer Hall to make it to the tastes of Kate and Will, for them to live it in a total of three years maybe?

  25. Amelie says:

Oh my god, these two need to purchase a Thesaurus. They have buried keen deep into a hole in the ground, let it die already!! Appropriate substitutes: eager, excited, looking forward to, interested in, enthusiastic, willing, amenable to, inclined… keen has been banned from their press releases!!!!

    • MoonTheLoon says:

That’s the “clever” thing. “Keen” implies that the thought is there, but it’s out of their hands and they can only do so much. Whereas every other synonym implies thought + intent, thus giving the impression that they’re taking control of their destinies and thus will do everything possible to make it thus. WK are hellbent on riding that “poor us, we’re just royals with no control over anything” narrative until after its smouldering carcass begs repeatedly for mercy.

    • carolind says:

Googled this. Taxpayer paid for Kensington Palace and the royals privately for Amner Hall. Thats the official split.

      • Tina says:

£4 million for an apartment at KP that they barely use? They don’t do any bloody work. I couldn’t give a toss about the “official split.”

  26. Hanka says:

Maybe they just wanted to work less and spend more time with their kids the first few years of their life.

    • LAK says:

Fair enough. And what excuse for their (non working) life before the kids?

    • Tina says:

And if they were paying for it, that would be fine. But we are paying for it. 99% of British people don’t have that luxury, why should we pay for them to do so?

  27. my3cents says:

Wow the bar is set so low with these two, there is no pretense of starting to work or even talking about work- the big conversation is where will they live now?

  28. Skippy says:

    Those two are sooooo LAZY!!!

  29. Skippy says:

Question: Can’t the Queen step in and tell those two that they must be full time working royals?

  30. CrystalBall says:

Kate couldn’t be keener carefully calculating clothing costs to cuckold the (in-)credulous taxpayer while consoling her ‘caring’ keen self. #can’tcarecambridge

  31. Zombie Shortcake says:

Well I’m grateful that in such uncertain, crazy times we can count on these two to remain the same.

  32. Ravine says:

Someone needs to update the KP style manual. http://smartquotesforsmartpeople.com/

    • Lucrezia says:

In his defense, I wonder if he use straight quotation marks because it’s a press release (being sent to multiple media outlets) and smart quotes can get screwed up if you try to simply copy-paste them onto a website.

Straight quotes follow a universal coding rule. Fancy quotes do not. That means any HTML package will recognise basic straight quotes and be able to make them as fancy as you like. But if you start with a fancy quote from X-company and copy-paste that onto a website that’s using Y-company software you might end up with the wrong symbol (like a @ or ?).

That said, if he was going for the most user-friendly formatting, he shouldn’t have indented the paragraphs. Indents don’t translate easily either.

      • Ravine says:

It’s possible that they sent it out as a press release, but they also posted it to their Twitter account as an image — they could have cleaned up the quotation marks before doing that. (OK, I’m picky, but still — you’re a palace! Be classier!)

  33. Duchess of Nothingbridge says:

I read this statement as “we love our country home and will make it our main residence as long as we possibly can, but realize our children cannot receive the majority or even a large chunk of their schooling in this environment, because we are Royal and above the local peons”.

Even if W&K are not “full-time” royals, which we know they won’t be, you have to spend the majority of your year, where your children are in school, which means until the children are in boarding school, they have to move back to London. IMO, they have just turned the necessary move for their children’s education, into a “keenness” to work more for the BRF. In other words – they had no choice but to move to London, but they are pretending it is a huge sacrifice which shows us their commitment to the UK.

I never say this, but for once I give Jason PR points, because while we know there is no “keenness”, we are at least discussing this as if it weren’t completely necessary and in line with the timeline of educating someone in line to the thrown.

  34. tracy says:

I hope kate never becomes queen, i travel around the world, and no one is interested, or talks good about her, shes unpopular, common looking, shes no royal material period

  35. Megan says:

They need to be seen to be doing more. The Royals only continue to exist because they are popular at home in the UK and abroad. If they stop being popular, there really is no point to them. If the people don’t want millions of £’s in tax funding the lifestyles of people randomly born into privilege then the Royals cease to have a purpose. Yes they ‘represent’ the country, but that’s more the monarch, the Queen herself, not the rest of the family who are basically just hangers on until they can inherit the title (if they ever do). It’s an iffy system which the public are getting more and more bored with. So Wills and Kate need to show the British public that they are workers, or else face the peasant’s revolt.
