Gerard Butler is annoyed. He’s annoyed by the constant speculation about who he’s dating, who he’s sleeping with, and who he’s just occasionally feeling up. Sidenote: If he really felt that strongly about it, why pose for arm-in-arm pictures with Jennifer Aniston, hm? This all comes from an interview Gerard gave to People, I suspect to promote The Ugly Truth. But he just ended up answering questions about Jennifer Aniston and the film the two of them are currently working on. Gerard calls Jennifer a “classy lady”. Of course, he also calls her “easy”, but I’m sure he meant “easy-going”. Bless his heart, the man loves his hyperbole – earlier this week he called Katherine Heigl “the sexiest, smartest, sassiest, funniest actress out there.”
The Bounty Hunter costars Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are making headlines with speculation over their off-screen romance – but a usually humorous Butler sets the record straight on one thing he doesn’t find funny.
“That is just annoying. People say I’m always dating so and so, and sometimes it’s three people in one day,” says the actor, 39.
“I’m trying to make movies, work hard and do my best. Then this kind of thing happens and people start to associate me more with that. It gets ridiculous.”
Aside from those pesky rumors, Butler – who also stars with Katherine Heigl in The Ugly Truth, opening July 24 – has nothing to complain about when it comes to his current gig.
“She is one classy lady,” he says of Aniston. “Everyday I go to work with her I’m always surprised about how cool, easy and down to earth and real she is.”
He adds, “I’m in New York right now filming and I’m in heaven. I can’t always say that about movies, but to be filming this romantic comedy with Jennifer and a story that made my side split when I read it – I’m lucky. I’m happy as a pig in s—, as they say.”
As far as Aniston’s current love life goes – a source close to the actress, 40, says she’s still happily talking to Bradley Cooper. But when it comes to working with Butler, “They get along really well, but Jen only likes him as a friend,” says a source. “She can’t see herself dating him.”

Aniston can’t see herself dating Gerard? What the…? I don’t get the spastic coverage of Jennifer’s love life lately, I really don’t. I get that many tabloids are just making stuff up, especially about the uncool Bermuda Triangle, but I’d appreciate a little consistency in the quotes from unnamed sources. Is the current tabloid version that Jennifer is just going to sit around and let men chase her? That might explain this unnamed source’s comment about how Aniston just sees Gerard as a friend. Or, Gerard shot Jennifer down and now she’s backtracking in the press? I have no idea. Part of me really believes that Gerard and Jennifer are hittin’ it, while another part of me thinks that Gerard maybe gets a bad rap as a womanizer, that perhaps he’s too professional to sleep with a costar. Of course, there’s another possibility: Gerard Butler is holding out for me! That must be it.

Another possibility: It is a romantic relationship, but they are both claiming they are “just friends.” That’s what she did with Vince Vaughn while filming “The Breakup.”

Or, Gerard Butler is not into tabloid romances and is telling Jen’s PR team to back off! He doesn’t want to be used for PR like Brad 1, Vaughn, Mayer, Brad 2, etc. If so, I have way more respect for him.

Have you noticed the last month how many rumors there have been of her, back to pitt, cooper, back with pitt again, now butler and then you have the countless other rumors about friends, family etc.
I just think the media just has to leave her alone, it is getting crazy

I really don’t think they’re hooking up. I think that for whatever reason whoever Jennifer Aniston dates is a huge media story so whenever she’s working w/ a semi-hot guy the media does anything to make a story of it. Also, it doesn’t hurt that Gerard Butler has a rep as a womanizer so it makes for double the drama. However, the key word in all this is tabloid. There’s more than a 60% chance that all these stories are fabricated.

The best thing that ever happened to Aniston’s career was the Pitt/Jolie hook-up, the divorce and rumors of hook-ups in the tabloids. Her career is banking on those. Without them, she’d have no career.
She certainly has to know her acting abilities are extremely limited. The part she only knows how to play well is that of “victim”.

I agree G! I really think the reason Jen is not dating anyone who isn’t famous is because she can’t exploit the relationship. It speaks volumes that Vince Vaughn is marrying someone NOT famous and out of the spotlight. Keeping herself in the tabloids IS Aniston’s career strategy. It’s certainly NOT playing new and interesting characters.

I think she ran after men too and no, i don’t think that it qualifies any woman who does as being of easy virtues. Some are comfortable enough to ask a man out (Victoria Beckham did it and used to chase Beckham even to the boy’s changing closet after soccer games and asked him out) some just don’t.
As for the total package, to each is own, but for many people, it includes a certain amount of intellect and intelligence, something that is lacking in Jen’s

Mr. Butler, in my opinion is well on his way to becoming a Scottish version of Colin Farrell. He obviously doesn’t need a hook-up with Anniston for a career boost.
He reminds of a down-graded version of an early (un-married) Hugh Jackman. What? Jackman won’t take those roles anymore? Okay then, I’ll take them!

Gerard’s comments are really stupid. He sets up a photo-op with Jennifer where they can’t keep their hands off of each other and he’s baffled as to why tabs say they are dating? Although it seems like he doesn’t party as much as he used to, in the past Gerard was always pictured leaving a bar or club drunk with a bunch of girls. That’s why he’s perceived as a womanizer and dating every woman he meets.

“Can’t take their hands off each other”???? They are costars in a film. When you act or do a performance with other people and you get along well, you have a natural coziness with them. I took an acting class in college with about 15 other people and in the process we all became very physically affectionate with one another. If anyone saw our group, I would have been dating 8 different guys and at least two girls.
Being affectionate does not equal romance by any stretch of the imagination; especially between two actors on set who have to trust each other a lot in order to make a scene work.

I have to agree with nnn. Running after man-hos/boys like Vaughn and Mayer (even after Mayer dumps her!) shows Aniston has no standards. She’ll take any available famous male. Of course, Gerard may feel differently, but that’s never mattered to her or her PR team.

There are lots of negative snarky comments about Angie on this site ALL THE TIME.. and you never scream Jennifer’s PR team is at work.. Plz. Jen wishes she was dating him. I saw those pics with her hands around him, looking up at him. Her look screams, “date me! Please!” He was looking away. It reminds me of that pic when she and Mayer were making out, she was snoggin him, while he was staring at the pap taking their pic. Something this woman does completely turns off men–even D-listers. She’s no prize.
