Jennie Garth’s daughter saw her dad Peter Facinelli on dating app Raya

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have been divorced since 2013. They’re friendly now, but it was a long road to get there. In 2015, Jennie got remarried to Dave Abrams. Peter has been engaged to actress Lily Anne Harrison since 2020 and they have a two-year-old son. Prior to getting with Lily Anne in 2016, Peter tried his hand at Raya, the exclusive dating app for influencers, rich people and celebrities. How do we know Peter was on Raya? Well, according to a story Jennie told on her podcast, “I Do, Pt 2” last week, he popped up in their oldest daughter Luca’s feed! If this were a text message, this is where we’d insert the facepalm emoji.

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth’s daughter swiped left on this cringe dating app moment.

After all, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum revealed her and the Twilight star’s oldest daughter Luca, 27, had a very awkward interaction involving her dad on a dating app.

“My ex-husband Peter, I was told, was on Raya,” Jennie shared on the I Do, Pt. 2 podcast June 12. “And his age range that he was looking for, was also the age range of his oldest daughter. So, she came across him on her thing.”

However, Peter’s swiping days are in the past as the 51-year-old—who also shares daughters Lola, 22, and Fiona, 18, with Jennie—announced his engagement to Lily Anne Harrison, 36, in 2020. (The duo are parents to 2-year-old Jack.)

[From E! News Online]

Oh. My. God. I would have died of cringe if I came across my father on a dating app because he selected my age range. Let’s be generous and assume this story happened just before Peter and Lily Anne got together in 2016. Doing the math, Peter was likely 42, Lily Anne was 27, and Luca would have been 18 or 19. I’m not a prude. I know some men look for women 20 years younger on dating apps, but I would have at least set it to be a little bit older than my oldest daughter’s age! I can imagine the way that conversation went, haha. I wonder if she messaged him through Raya to be like, “Oh hey, Dad!” or if she immediately closed the app in horror and then said something in person. So cringey.

Oh, and I had never heard of “I Do, Pt. 2,” so I did some research. Apparently, it’s executive produced by Jennie, Jana Kramer, Amy Robach, and T.J. Holmes. It started in September 2024 and it’s all about finding love after divorce. All four producers have appeared on it, although they rotate as hosts now. They also have a lot of different celebrity guests to help them talk about finding love again, as well as topics like co-parenting, infidelity (Amy and T.J. are not on that ep), dating through menopause, and more. It’s an interesting premise. You can check it out here.

His daughter would have been 18 if this happened in 2016, right? That was 9 years ago. And he was in his 40s. Yikes.

    • Rosie says:

Hahahaha yes. Obviously, I should have used a calculator and not head math. Thank you! Also, how was 2016 nine years ago already?

      • AB says:

😂 I actually did use a calculator because I could not believe 2016 was that long ago!

  2. Torontoe says:

If Luca is 27 now and this happened in 2016, then she was 18 at the time. Gross.

  3. Mere says:

Does this not also mean she was looking at guys his age?

    • Persephone says:

      It does indeed.
This is concerning to me too.
Why are you on Raya at 18/19 years old?

      • NikkiK says:

She shouldn’t even have been eligible for Raya. Her parents are relatively famous, she is not. More than likely he selected all ages are did all ages up to his own age. Jenni Garth was actually a few years older than him.

    • Arpeggi says:

He wouldn’t be the 1st man to lie about his age on a dating app in hopes to bypass the age filter put by women

      • smcollins says:

@arpeggi that’s a really good point, it never even occurred to me that he (or even his daughter) were being truthful about their ages.

      • Robert Wright says:

He would not have been able to lie about his age on Raya, it is a very strict application process because of who it is geared towards. People have to be verified to get on the app, and not just an id. You have to have a referral from a member and then your application is reviewed by a committee. This isn’t like Tinder or Plenty of Fish. This site has a real and daunting application process.

    • smcollins says:

Exactly what I was thinking, too. She was a teenager open to dating men her father’s age. Neither is a good look.

    • It Really Is You, Not Me says:

I’ve never been on a dating app. Can anyone message you even if they’re outside your range? I guess I’m asking if you’re sure that she had to set her range for her dad’s age as well?

    • CeeGee says:

I mean, I’m not the daughter of celebs, but if I got on Raya I’d be keeping it as open as possible to see who was on there! Like, she may not be interested in dating men her dad’s age, but it would sure be interesting (to me anyways) to see profiles of famous people. *shrug*

  4. Elizabeth K. Mahon says:

He certainly doesn’t let any grass grow under his feet, does he? He started dating Jaimie Alexander soon after he and Jenny Garth separated, and they broke off their engagement a few months before he started dating Lily Anne Harrison.

    • ORLY says:

      Unpopular opinion, but:

Jennie shouldn’t be putting her daughter’s and ex-husband’s business out to millions of people like that.
Whether he was right or wrong, he was single and it wasn’t her story to tell.
People just share everything publicly, like it’s totally ok.

      • Elle says:

Isn’t the whole point of Raya that it is supposedly more discreet? Not that it is, but wasn’t that how it was initially marketed? Like Fight Club (The first rule of fight club is we don’t talk about fight club), but for wealthy / famous people on a dating app?

Either way, I agree with you ORLY.

  5. olliesmom says:

That man is a dog. That is all I have to say.

  6. Boxy Lady says:

Why was his daughter on Raya? I thought was a more exclusive app? Like, you have to pay a bunch of money to be on there, or you can only join if you already know a member of Raya and they vouch for you.

    • CeeGee says:

She’s the daughter of two celebs, and an (aspiring? 30k followers) influencer. In those circles it probably is very easy to get an invite to that app. She would have grown up around fame + money.
