Good news! Prince Harry will be outside this week! Even better news: he announced his planned trip to Canada just as his brother arrived in Rio de Janeiro for his week-long Earthshot bore-athon. To be fair, and all of the legit reporting is taking pains to point this out, Harry has been planning this trip to Toronto for many months. He’s also not in charge of when some of these events were scheduled. Still, it’s funny as hell.
Prince Harry is heading to Canada for Remembrance Day events at the same time Prince William is in Brazil for the fifth cycle of his Earthshot Prize. On Nov. 3, the Duke of Sussex’s office announced that Prince Harry, 41, will travel to Toronto, Canada, for a series of events ahead of Remembrance Day. Remembrance is the British equivalent of Veteran’s Day in the U.S. and a solemn occasion that members of the British royal family have commemorated for generations.
The dates overlap with William’s trip to Rio de Janeiro, where the Prince of Wales, 43, arrived on Nov. 3 for a busy week of activities tied to the prestigious prize he founded in 2020 to inspire solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The highlight will be the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony on Nov. 5, the same day Harry is scheduled to step out in Canada.
PEOPLE understands that the events the Duke of Sussex is attending were planned nearly a year ago, and the timing of the main event is established by the charity, not Prince Harry. Royal communications teams were informed of the plans.
Regarding the timing of the announcement, PEOPLE understands that since the Duke of Sussex no longer holds the same level of security as working members of the royal family, the window for publicizing his engagements is much narrower, and announcements are made in line with guidance from his private security advisors and the event’s security team.
On Nov. 5, the Duke of Sussex will participate in a series of events to support the Canadian Armed Forces and veteran community, before heading to a private lunch hosted by True Patriot Love to discuss international veterans’ issues.
That night, he will head to a private fundraiser for The HALO Trust, the landmine-clearing charity that he follows his late mother, Princess Diana, in supporting.
On Nov. 6, Prince Harry will visit the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The hub is one of Canada’s largest care facilities for veterans and provides long term, complex hospital care to over 150 veterans from World War II and the Korean War.
In the evening, King Charles’ younger son will attend the 17th annual True Patriot Love National Tribute Dinner. The event is the charity’s flagship fundraiser and Canada’s largest celebration for military members, veterans and their families. The dinner will be attended by members of the Canadian Armed Forces, veterans, government representatives, and business leaders — paying tribute ahead of Canada’s Remembrance Day on Nov. 11.
I would absolutely love it if Meghan went to these events with Harry, but it doesn’t sound like she’s planning to join him? It feels like their office would have made a point of including her name in their announcement. Still, I have no problem with any of this, obviously. If the palace or Harry’s eggy brother wanted a say in Harry’s schedule, they probably should have taken him up on his offer to stay half-in. It even sounds like Harry gave Buckingham Palace (his father) a heads-up about the trip recently. Harry is also a patron of the HALO Trust, and I would assume that they were eager for him to attend their fundraiser. I hope they raise a lot of money. The True Patriot Love National Tribute Dinner seems to be the event which was scheduled way in advance, and Harry likely scheduled everything else around it. Still, it’s hilarious the way everything worked out. Poor Peggington!! LMAO. Two things are about to happen: either William has another nervous breakdown (like he did in September during Harry’s visit to the UK) or William starts rage-briefing and calling Harry a “Kardashian” again.

So they’re shocked that a veteran is doing stuff around Remembrance Day? When has he not? I thought that everyone in the UK hated Harry, they shouldn’t be concerned about him taking interest or overshadowing in the UK. And if their argument is Harry’s not allowed to get any interest worldwide while William is also doing something, yeah okay. So it’s okay for them to plan events around Harry’s visit to the UK or NY. Not ok for Harry to do anything.
It’s so weird how they think that it’s a reasonable complaint that other people are getting attention when they are trying to get attention. It’s the most toddler argument ever. People can split their attention just fine, why do you have to have all the attention on you and no one else to compete against you.

I don’t believe that he’s coordinating but he may be giving a heads up. To BP not KP. How far in advance might he give a heads up? doubtful it’s that far ahead. And technically these events are the week before remembrance on the 11th so it’s not stepping on the royals big Remembrance Day. William’s the one who planned earthshot in a way that the dates come right up to remembrance so oh well.
Agreed, I think there is a big difference between coordinating and having his team notify his father’s team of a big string of events like this.
I really don’t understand why Harry is giving Charles a heads up about his schedule when Charles is doing everything that he can to protect Andrew, while absolutely throwing Harry to wolves. Charles, despite allegedly hating Andrew, has provided him a home, security, and a generous stipend, after evicting Harry and coordinating a smear campaign against him. But I guess Harry’s loyalty to his father is not for anyone to understand.
It’s very disappointing that Harry is doing this. The Royal Family lost the right to know his schedule when they refused to approve his half in proposal. I hope Meghan is not doing this.
My guess is that Harry agreed to this because it doesn’t cost him anything, not really. If its true that his father knew about this trip, then his team kept their mouths shut about it which I’m sure was part of the deal from Harry’s end. So from that perspective it becomes his father knows he’s in Toronto doing events.

Harry informing Charles of his schedule technically doesn’t cost him anything other than symbolically submitting himself under Charles’s authority. Charles briefed Jobson that he was angry that Harry hopped on a plane to to see him after his cancer diagnosis and is allowing the the UK government to plead with other countries to not provide security to him and Meghan, while personally paying for Andrew’s security as Harry was within in a few feet of a stalker in the UK because Charles cut of his security. I think Harry is a masochist. It defies belief that Harry would brief BP about his schedule. And what does Harry get in return? Nothing, just more smears courtesy of BP.

I wonder if Harry agreed to share information in order to maintain that special passport? I’m guessing it allows him to travel freely around the world for Invictus. Maybe Charles threatened to interfere with it or have the government revoke it. I mean look what Charles is doing with Harry’s security situation. I would not put it past him and that could even interfere with his ability to remain in the US, especially with the current regime.
I think Harry gave BP the heads up just because this is Canada where Chuckles is technically the king.

As a British citizen Harry already has the ability to travel freely to most countries in the world. Even though Charles is king of Canada, he cannot stop Harry from entering and leaving just as he is unable to stop Harry from going to the UK. Harry’s security is only an issue in the UK, so if Harry is giving updates on his schedule to BP, I really hope he’s getting something in return, because otherwise it’s insane for him to do this. Hell, that something should be the reinstatement of his protection. Charles is protecting Randy Andy over his own son who wasn’t besties with a dead rapist pedophile human trafficker, who pays million pound settlements to a woman he’s claimed to have never met.
Like it or not, KC3 is the “Commander In Chief” of UK and the Head of State of Canada. Harry may not need to inform BP of his personal events, such as The Halo Trust activities, but for veteran events, it might be better & easier for the organizations in the Commonwealth countries & UK to give BP a head-up. We all know how childish & vindictive the King, the Heir & their staff can be. It’s Catch-22 for those non-profit organizations.
Also, IG 2027 is at Birmingham, so it might be better for the 2027 IG Committee to keep a more “peaceful” relationship with UK’s Commander In Chief.
Sounds like Harry’s days will be packed with meaningful events about issues he is deeply involved in. And Willy will be hobnobbing with celebrities and trying to photobomb global statesmen and environmentalists. Typical!

Tom Sykes is already stirring the pot, claiming that this trip is Harry restarting the war with William. A war that Harry is probably not even aware of is going on. As you said, this trip was planned for a long time. Unfortunately, it just happened to overlap with William’s trip to Rio. William should spend time worrying about Earthshot and less about what his brother is doing.
What competition? I literally don’t understand this. Is William at ” war” with Mackenzie Scott? Melinda Gates? Emmanuel Macron? King Felipe? Famous person with a very specific interest in veterans and the military along with other philanthropic interests plans events around a significant military event – here, Remembrance Day. Both the HALO dinner and the TPL event were set up months ago. There is no way they could set up something like this last minute like the half ass stuff they do in the UK for the other ones.
Besides the veterans centre at Sunnybrook hospital has Remembrance Week this week and so they were always going to have events scheduled during this time. The website confirms this.
Earthshot is getting no coverage in Canada and never was going to. So Harry isn’t stealing his thunder in Canada. If the UK is more obsessed with Harry than William that is on them.

I’m Canadian and glad Harry can spent some time with our veterans and active soldiers. I find it really sad that this type of events cannot happen with the British veterans.
Is Earthshot really considered prestigious? It’s always seemed like a snooze fest to me. Meanwhile, Harry will be actually working, meeting with groups, doing outrreach, getting more excitement ginned up about Invictus. If the Toronto trip upsets Egg-boy, Invictus is sure to have him enraged and trying to figure out how to bar British forces from participating. I’m looking forward to Harry’s press coverage in Toronto and can’t wait for Invictus and Scooter’s implosion.

If they don’t want Harry to “overshadow” William, they could simply not cover Harry, or not put him in the headlines. By going on about how Harry overshadows William is simply proving that Harry overshadows William. This need for Harry and Meghan to never do anything at the same time as William proves beyond a doubt that William cannot garner much nternational or social interest. They should be grateful when Harry and Meghan are busy, as it seems to be the only time Wank are forced out of hiding.
Good to see Prince Harry continuing to work with True Patriot Love. They were one of the organisations behind the two successful bids to host the Invictus Games in Canada twice. They were also the recipient of parts of the Legacy Fund created after this year’s IG to support ongoing rehab and recovery for wounded veterans.
Harry is such a natural. And when he does charitable events, you can tell his heart is truly in them, unlike William who goes through the motions with a constipated expression. If William did a good job and was hard-working, Harry’s actions would not be so upsetting to the powers that be. He makes William look so bad just by being true to himself.
Now that it has been announced, i can say that this trip has been in the works for months and months. I work in Canadian philanthropic circles and many people have known this since the summer. There was a real effort to keep this news locked down/no leaks to ensure he would be able to attend and more importantly out of respect.
When Harry was in Canada for the games in January, a bunch of Veterans events were held alongside the games, all focused on supporting the veteran community here in Canada. Harry made appearances at several of them, including True Patriot Love Foundation’s Veteran employment symposium.
He continues to show up for the causes he believes in. I think it also an incredibly canny move from a sustainment lens to keep up some of the visibility on veteran issues that the games helped to generate.

What a credit to the veterans working in Canada that the details were kept on lockdown. If I had to guess, the rota is also mad that they had no idea.
Not only them but the foundations/funders, and charities and hospitals. People in all those orgs knew.
But I think the reason that the Sussexes can move in silence is that they have a decent team around them and that the organizations they support are good collaborators and have a vested interest in keeping trust/building trust with the Sussexes team.

Harry shows up because he’s committed to the causes he believes in and brings real energy and focus to those causes.
William only shows up when a) he has to; or b) it’s something he enjoys.

I too wish Meghan would attend one of these events with him. I like seeing them do events together and get the feeling she’s withdrawn somewhat from public advocacy. These are such very different events and Harry’s specifically are scheduled around a set date/event. William’s Earthshot could be scheduled any time. Two different continents. Will should be able to cope.
I have read that Harry doesn’t take any money for these trips honoring veterans. He pays his own way and is accompanied by his own security. From a practical viewpoint, if Meghan has a packed schedule and business to take care of that brings in money, then it makes sense for her to not go with him.
Why did William book his event in November, knowing that Canada is a commonwealth country and there will be events in November leading up to R Day on Nov 11. He never thinks about Canada.

Harry looks hot just standing and smiling, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. William must also envy Harry’s essential hotness, doing something or nothing. No matter what William is doing, especially the beach acrobatics, he does not look like he’s having fun or spontaneous in any way. No natural grace at all. He looks manic and try-hard.
