These are new photos of Uma Thurman out and about on Tuesday, sporting a strange ring on her ring finger. Engagement much? Could be. Uma is allegedly still with billionaire Arki/Arpad Busson. Uma and Arki have had a famously tumultuous relationship, breaking up and getting back together several times over the past few years. Last December, it’s thought that Uma (or maybe Arki) broke off their then-formal engagement after a huge fight. But since then, they seem to have gotten back together. Who knows, though? Eh. He’s rich and he famously doesn’t care for formal commitment – he wouldn’t marry Elle Macpherson after two sons and a nine year engagement, and he seems to have a pattern of loving and leaving beautiful women, etc). Here’s a closeup of the ring… it doesn’t look like a diamond…?

Here’s the kicker though – X17 put up these photos a few days ago – Uma and Arki on vacation in Italy, Uma frolicking around in a bikini. And the bikini is small – and Uma’s belly is roundish. She totally looks pregnant, and I’m not saying that in a “Uma has a pasta baby” way. She looks PREGNANT. She also seems to be wearing the same ring in the X17 photos. Uma is 40 years old, by the way. And she already has two kids with ex-husband Ethan Hawke. Just FYI, I’m not judging her.

Anyway… I kind of think Uma is knocked up and their engagement is back on. Not that he’ll marry her… but I think he would be stupid not to. Uma is a catch! And she seems like a cool woman.

Some gossipmongers are asking if Uma Thurman got married over the weekend, and the answer is a definitive “uh…maybe… actually, maybe not”. Allegedly, Uma could have married fiance Arpad Busson during a little Bahamian mini-break. Several sources reported that Uma and Arpad had obtained a marriage license on the island of Eleuthura on Saturday. But her representative Steven Huvane denied the elopement report before it was even out there for a few days. E! is reporting Huvane‘s denial as: “Uma did not get married.” But Huvane has lied before!

To go along with the rumors of an elopement, OK! Magazine is reporting that during Uma’s appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, she was smiling, happy, flipping her hair, and “favoring her right hand”. Gasp! Someone get the smelling salts! Before I get to the right hand business, let me just ask this – isn’t Uma usually a very pleasant, happy person? She always seems kind of bubbly and energetic, but not in a Drew Barrymore way, like it’s an affectation. Uma just seems cool and nice.

While rumors swirl that Uma Thurman married Arpad Busson in the Bahamas over the weekend, the stunning star isn’t giving anything away.

At the Tribeca Film Festival Opening Press Conference held [Tuesday] in NYC, she seemed to be in a sunny mood, dressed down in jeans and a blue jacket over black suit and white blouse. She smiled often, flipping her hair and jumping about a bit. She also quite notably seemed to be favoring her right hand while gesturing and talking, leaving her left hand conspicuously at her side for most of the event.

And although there seemed to be a bit of a sparkle on that hand’s ring finger, it’s hard to tell if that bit of shiny gold is meant to be a wedding band or just a pretty bit of adornment.

If indeed she did wed, that was one short honeymoon – she was back in town last night for a Cookie magazine event as well.

So, this “favoring the right hand” business. As a right-handed person, I can only say that I favor my right hand to a ridiculous degree – I don’t even know why I have a left hand most days. E! has the scoop on the ring stuff, claiming that Uma was “wearing bright baubles that were neither a wedding band nor the 8-carat engagement stunner she was reportedly given when Busson proposed last June… Instead of the big diamond, the star wore a topaz piece to an event for Cookie magazine Monday, and a shiny gold accoutrement to a press conference for the Tribeca Film Festival.”

Anyone who thinks Uma Thurman’s still pining away for her ex and the father of her two children while he cavorts with their former nanny is dead wrong. The actress just confirmed her engagement to millionaire/hedge fund financier Arki Busson. Take that, Ethan!

Uma Thurman is engaged to her Swiss multimillionaire boyfriend, Arpad “Arki” Busson, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“I can confirm she is engaged,” Stephen Huvane said on Friday.

In return for saying yes, the actress received some serious sparkle: an 8-plus carat center stone surrounded by 20 smaller stones. “It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen,” says a close source of the diamond ring. “Arki did a wonderful job.”

The pair began dating last summer after attending a private dinner together in Milan. Since then, their relationship quickly heated up despite the fact that the couple lived on different continents (she is based in New York, he in London).

It would be the second marriage for Thurman, who has a son and daughter with ex Ethan Hawke, whom she divorced in 2003. Busson has two sons with former supermodel Elle Macpherson, from whom he split in 2005.

No wedding date has been set.

Actually, this would be Uma’s third marriage – before Ethan, she was married to actor Gary Oldman from 1990-1992. Congrats to the couple, and let’s hope this marriage works out for Uma.

He was said to have proposed in early October after just a few months of dating, but if that’s true he either didn’t give her a ring or she’s not wearing it out. She has been seen out since, including her infamous appearance at Fashion Rocks in a see-through dress, and she isn’t wearing an engagement ring.

Now Star reports that Uma has asked Arpad to move in with her in NY. He is said to have a home base out of London, so maybe it would be more convenient for her if he’s staying with her while he’s in NY:

That’s the entire story, so maybe Star is just making it up because there aren’t a lot of details there.

One recent story about Uma that might be true is the claim that she insists on doing her own hair and makeup when she’s on a movie set and refuses professional help. Whitney Bears does that too, but they make it sound like Uma is less stubborn about it and just doesn’t want people fussing over her:

An insider tells Star that whenever Uma works on a movie, she insists on doing her own makeup and styling. In fact, when she starred in the 2005 film Prime, she wore clothes from her own closet. “Uma doesn’t like a lot of fuss,” says the insider, especially when it comes to makeup. “The stylists would try to sneak in touch-ups, and she’d shoo them away.”

Whatever Uma is doing lately, it’s working. She looked positively gorgeous at Fashion Rocks in that gauzy dress that left little to the imagination. Maybe her new romance is giving her a natural glow too.

Uma Thurman, 37, is engaged to her Swiss millionaire boyfriend, according to reports. They’ve only been together for a few months, but supposedly Arpad Busson, 44, has proposed to the actress and mother of two.

The ‘Kill Bill’ actress, who has only been dating banker Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson since the summer, was said to be shocked and delighted when Arpad proposed to her last week.

A source said: “They have only been together a few months, but Arpad was determined to snap Uma up as quickly as possible. They make a great couple and are totally smitten with each other.”

The couple are yet to set a wedding date or choose a location for the nuptials.

Thurman and Busson met this summer. in July at a dinner in Milan hosted by Gianni Versace and Tony Blair (Update: commentor Jen UK notes that Gianni Versace died in 1997, so they couldn’t have met there. It’s possible the mention of their meeting is taken out of context and applies to Busson and Elle Macpherson, not Busson and Thurman. The Wikipedia entry may have been edited to make it seem as if that sentence applied to the wrong woman.) Busson is an investment banker and earned his fortune through starting his own hedge fund business in 1992. He dated Farrah Fawcett when he was young and was with Elle Macpherson for around three years, fathering two children with her. Busson and Macpherson split up July, 2005.

Wikipedia notes that Macpherson said that Busson would not marry a divorced woman despite having two children with her, as he is a devout Catholic. So either he has changed his mind or this news isn’t true. Thurman divorced her second husband and the father of her two children, Ethan Hawke, in 2004 after rumors of his infidelity with a young Canadian model. She was last linked to hotelier Andre Balazs, and seems to have had a tumultuous relationship with him as there were stories that they broke up several times.

Busson lives in London while Thurman lives in Hyde Park, NY.
