I have been consistently impressed by the relationship between Demi Moore, new husband Ashton Kutcher and ex-husband Bruce Willis. Though you hear a lot of unpleasant things about Moore, you can’t argue that she’s been pretty mature about her divorce and friendship with Bruce. Some people have said they just do it for the kids, like that’s a bad thing. How in the world could it be a negative to keep up a friendly relationship with your kids’ other parent? Bruce and Demi are occasionally spotted out having lunch together, so it seems like they are genuinely cool with each other.

This weekend Demi had a birthday party for Ashton’s 29th, and keeping to form, the whole family was invited - Bruce included.

The Punk’d star rang in the occasion with his wife 45-year-old wife Demi Moore - and her ex husband Bruce Willis.

The unlikely trio dined at a LA restaurant on Saturday, along with Demi and Bruce’s children Rumer, 19, Scout, 16, and 13-year-old Tallulah Belle.

Far from being uncomfortable, Ashton and Bruce, 52, appeared to revel in each other’s company and even indulged in a moment of playful wrestling.

Demi recently commented on the transition the entire family went through when she and Ashton got married. She was incredibly generous in her descriptions of what everyone went through. “It wasn’t a piece of cake. It wasn’t automatic or easy. It took diligence and effort and even enduring awkwardness, and a lot of general giving on my part and Bruce’s part. And really, tremendously, on Ashton’s part.” Though their family unit is certainly unconventional, can you imagine how much better a lot of divorced kids would feel if their parents had been that cool with each other? Though Bruce and Demi’s daughter Rumer gets a lot of crap for her appearance, you generally don’t hear about their daughters much in the media. And frankly if any celebuspawn of parents that famous were misbehaving, you know the paparazzi would be all over it. It shows that being decent to each other can only do good.

Today in delusional celebrities: Rumer Willis thinks she’s famous. And her fame is a big responsibility. According to her. The girl best known for looking a lot more like her father than her mother dropped out of college last year and has since become an actress. I think when your parents are Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, you can in fact become an actress in under six months time. None of Rumor’s movies have come out yet, so calling herself an actress is a bit of a stretch. But the Moore/Willis clan has always been known for their hubris. So far it seems Rumer is still most famous for being the kid of someone famous – not exactly time to phone the editors at People to tell them your tips for handling fame. But common sense never got in the way of self-promotion.

Rumer Willis is ready to accept the ’round-the-clock responsibility of being famous. Presented over the weekend with a Rumer Willis Polly Pocket Doll – which she helped auction off for $5,500 to charity – at the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation’s annual Dream Halloween benefit in Santa Monica, Calif., the 19-year-old (and eldest) daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, joked, “I feel like I’m really famous now.”

But when it really comes to the fame game, Willis – who has become a gossip-blog fixture in recent months – tells PEOPLE, “Before I started working, I would have said, ‘You know, it’s not really fair, because I didn’t choose this.’ But when you decide to be a part of this profession and put yourself out there, then you kind of have to accept what it is.” Willis says that her famous parents – including stepdad Ashton Kutcher – aren’t worried about her, even though being a celebrity means having a very public life. “I think they know that I’ve had great role models,” she said.

Still, notoriety does offer its obstacles. “It’s a 24-hour job,” she says. “It doesn’t matter if you are going out to a restaurant – you have to be aware of what you are doing and how you look and how you are presenting yourself, because most of the time people never get to know you.” But at its heart, she says of celebrity, “Being famous isn’t going to parties … it’s about being able to use the power that we all have to kind of give back.”

Giving back? When was the last time that family was known to give anything back? I haven’t really heard one way or the other about Bruce, but for the last fifteen years I’ve heard how completely rude Demi Moore is to fans and people in general. There’ve been reports of her snapping at customers in restaurants who she thought were looking at her (God forbid). The kids are supposedly spoiled and rude too, though I’ve heard Ashton is remarkably polite. If so, it must be pretty embarrassing to be seen with this clan. I’m guessing all the middle-aged sex and Demi’s great knees make up for it though.

Rumer Willis, who is apparently an actor as opposed to just famous offspring, is multi-talented. Or so she says. Maybe she’s just unsure of what she wants to do with her future.

In addition to acting you can expect Willis to have her own diverse career that includes photography, music and maybe even a fashion line.

“I love a lot of different things,” said the actress who turns 19 on Thursday. “I really like acting, I really like music and I love photography. In a perfect world I could do all three. In the future, I would love to do an album. I have been singing since I was really little which not a lot of people know about so it’s one of those fun, personal things.”

I wonder if this means her new movie isn’t very good, and she’s already gearing up for a quick profession change?

She also explains those pictures in the space age dunce cap and back brace.

“That picture was taken from a photo shoot we did for the movie for a calendar in the film that shows [the sorority girls] going too far,” Willis told People Saturday during an Art of Elysium benefit held at the French Connection Beach House in Malibu. “Somebody happened to take a picture and leak it. It is what it is.”

Well, I didn’t say the explanation was a good one.

Rumer was caught up in a drugs bust when police raided the hotel room she was partying in with members of her film’s production crew.

Rumer, whose mother is Demi Moore, was one of four people in a room at the La Quinta hotel when a member of her new film’s production crew was arrested for possession of marijuana.

The man, named as Christopher Henry, is the ‘key grip’ on independent film From Within, which stars Rumer and is currently shooting in Aberdeen.

Police had reportedly been called to the hotel after other guests complained about the noise.

Police chief Randy Rudy said: “What I was told by my officer was that Rumer was in the periphery and was not related to this arrest in any way.”

Stuff

Only four people in the room, yet Rumer wasn’t involved? I guess they weren’t smoking the pot at the time, since it’s only polite to share.

There’s this story that Reese Witherspoon was crying to Renee Zellwegger over her salad at Wolfgang Puck’s Beverly Hills restaurant. Bruce Willis also happened to be there and tried to cheer them up. He seems to have succeeded and Reese Renee left with him!

A downtrodden Reese Witherspoon turned to some big Hollywood shoulders, Renee Zellweger and Bruce Willis, for some solace last Friday night. A TMZ spy spotted Reese dining – or, rather, stabbing disaffectedly at a salad – at Wolfgang Puck’s latest celebriteria CUT in Beverly HIlls on Friday night.

Reese looked groggy and sad, says our eyes on the scene, and Renee patted her on the shoulders and consoled her, while trying to keep things as uplifting as possible. Then, Bruce ditched his dinner companions to come over and talk to the two southern belles for about 45 minutes. Even Wolfgang himself got in on the lovefest, sauntering over to gladhand the trio. Curiously, after the meal, Renee took the chance to catwalk her way through the middle of the restaurant with hips in full swing, and left, as our cameras observed, with Willis.

They left a restaurant together, not a bar or a club at 2:00 am, so it’s possible they just headed out for a drink and then went home separately. Given that it’s Reese not Britney, that’s the most likely outcome.

Reese was photographed with her children leaving church on Sunday, making it even more likely that her meeting with Willis was completely platonic.

Update: Thanks to commentor Iscatonic who points out that Renee left with Willis, not Reese. Ah well. Hopefully Renee got a little action that night.

Also, let me add some more to this story, because it’s pretty thin as it is. Life and Style reports in its latest issue that Reese’s estranged husband Ryan Phillippe had been cheating on her for a while with various women and that Reese put up with it for the sake of appearances and their children. When she found the poisoned Blackberry with messages to Abbie Cornish that was the last straw as Ryan seemed to want to get caught by so obviously dating his costar.

Halle Berry had to film sex scenes for her upcoming movie with Bruce Willis while he was away, so she just rolled around on the bed and acted like someone was there with her:

Bruce Willis has said some flattering things about Halle, and is probably trying to make up for the fact that he had to skip out on their on-screen lovemaking:

Sure Bruce. Maybe you were so nervous around her that you couldn’t show up. At least he’s talking about Halle, though, and not about politics. He was probably off trying to find Osama while Halle was shooting her solo sex scene.

Bruce Willis may have stood up Petra Nemcova at the premiere of V for Vendetta. Nemcova said her “friend” was supposed to attend the premiere but was dissapointed that he did not come. Nemcova and Wilils are said to have spent last weekend together in Atlantic City.

Meanwhile Willis is suing Page Six for reporting that he pestered Nemcova and made a sizeable donation to her tsunami charity in order to get a first date. Maybe he didn’t show up at the premiere for fear of jeaopardizing his lawsuit.
