On Friday, we heard the disturbing news that Prince William’s stag party (bachelor party) was being held this weekend, and that Prince Harry had organized something special for him. My theory was that the party would involve strippers, hookers and assorted bar wenches, nubile young things who would be giving birth to assorted ginger and balding babies nine months from now. I was totally wrong, though. At least as far as I know now. According to the British papers, the stag party was a sausage-fest. Just dudes, William and Harry’s Eton buddies and official royal sycophants, all gathered on some dude’s country estate. Boring!

When Prince William chose his brother Prince Harry to be his best man, he may have expected he would spend his stag party downing cocktails in the public eye at some of London’s fashionable nightspots.

Instead, at the weekend he marked the end of his bachelor days with a low-key private party, thought to have been held at a friend’s country estate outside London.

The party was attended by about 20 of the Prince’s closest friends including James Meade, whom he met at Eton, and Thomas van Straubenzee who attended Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire with the Prince

Hugh van Cutsem, one of Prince Charles’s godsons, was also present. His father owns a large estate in Norfolk, leading to speculation that it could have provided the perfect bolt-hole for a low-key event.

Guy Pelly, a nightclub owner renowned for his love of partying, is understood to have planned the stag weekend with Prince Harry. But as with all good stag nights it appears the details of what went on are unlikely to emerge. All guests were sworn to secrecy.

Mr Straubenzee yesterday declined to comment. He said: “I’m very sorry but I have got to keep it a secret. I hope you understand.”

The Prince, who will marry Kate Middleton next month, had initially planned to spend the weekend taking part in a variety of watersports in Exmouth, Devon, including racing speedboats and water-skiing. The plans were cancelled, however, after they were leaked to the press.

Journalists had flocked to the River Exe hoping for a glimpse of the royal party. It was rumoured that Prince Harry had chosen the Turf Locks pub as the venue for part of the party.

Yesterday, as Prince William and his friends returned from the weekend, a source at St James’s Palace confirmed that the event had taken place but refused to discuss any details. The source said: “I can confirm that Prince William’s stag party happened this weekend. It was an entirely private event and we don’t intend to make any further comment.”

The Prince’s desire for a low-key party was similar to that of his father, Prince Charles, who held his stag night within the confines of a suite at Whites, a gentleman’s club, before marrying Lady Diana Spencer.

Shortly before his wedding the Duke of Edinburgh entertained some of his naval friends at a stag party at the Dorchester. The Duke and his friends famously smashed the flash bulbs of press photographers to ensure privacy. In 1986 the Duke of York thought he had escaped public attention by holding his stag at the Notting Hill home of Lord Lascelles, only to be gatecrashed by his future wife and her friends dressed as police officers.

Prince William’s stag weekend was in marked contrast to that of Peter Phillips, his cousin and the son of the Princess Royal, in April 2009. The Prince arrived at the event by RAF helicopter with his brother before enjoying several drinking games in which he reportedly downed pints and dropped his trousers.

His own party would have been organised closer to the wedding on April 29, but pressing royal engagements meant it had to be held earlier.

Prince Harry is due to join a trek to the North Pole for disabled servicemen tomorrow, while Prince William has to return to RAF Valley in Anglesey, where he is serving as a sea rescue helicopter pilot.

I’m getting the feeling that this “stag party” was either A) Supposed to throw everybody off so that the real stag party could go off without a hitch a few weeks from now or B) something dirtier than the sausage party we’re being told about now. Seriously, how can a bachelor party involve only dudes on a country estate? That just sounds so… meh. Maybe there was lots of alcohol and porn? Even then, it sounds too safe.

As we saw yesterday, the time has come for the end-of-the-year lists and fake awards naming people The Most or The Best of Year. GQ named Scarlett Johansson the “Babe of the Year” and now they’ve released their other People of the Year. Jeff Bridges got Man of the Year, for his Oscar win and his upcoming roles in Tron and True Grit. Plus, you know, Jeff is just awesome and everyone loves and respects him.

My favorite was Stephen Colbert, who GQ named as “Patriot of the Year”. I just love this photo of Colbert bleeding red, white and blue. It’s a great shot. I wish he was wearing his glasses though!

Drake was named “Breakout of the Year” because you can’t turn on a radio these days without hearing him, and hey, it’s well-deserved.

And James Franco was named “Leading Actor of the Year” probably because everyone thinks he’s going to at the very least be nominated for Best Actor for his role in 127 Hours. It’s interesting seeing him clean-shaven, and I almost didn’t recognize him.

All in all, not a bad list.

Zac Efron is making headlines this weekend because he debuted a completely new, rather adult look at the Deauville Film Festival, where he’s promoting Charlie St. Cloud. The beard is very nice – I didn’t think Zac had enough testosterone to grow a substantial beard like that, but good for him. I’m saying “substantial” to be nice to the kid – I don’t think he’s capable of having a filled-out beard, but this little “extended goatee” is nice. And it does make him look much, much older. Tom Cruise is probably weeping right now – his pretty little motorcycle buddy is all grown up.

There have been some other sightings of hot(ter) guys this weekend too – especially at the Toronto Film festival, where it looks like it’s hot guy central. My favorite? James McAvoy, clean-shaven and baby-faced and so, so pretty… there‘s a special appearance by Robert Redford too!

Colin Firth! He’s been everywhere in Toronto, apparently.

Ah, the Hot Men of The Emmys. Hot Guy Emmys? Hot Guy Awards: The Emmys Edition? Whatever you want to call it, there was a spectacular dearth of truly hot men at the Emmys. Sure, there were cute guys, and many very talented men. But panty-droppers and leg-crossing hotties? There were only a few. So let’s start it off with a classic, Mr. George Clooney. I thought he came across as a bit smug during his award presentation (for the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award), and his bronzing is reaching George Hamiliton proportions. But I still get hot for George sometimes. I mean, he knows how to wear the hell out of a tux, and you know he loves the kinkiest sh-t out there. Also – I can’t find any photos of Elisabetta Canalis anywhere, although most sources have her backstage at the Emmys. Clooney didn’t let her walk the red carpet and wouldn’t answer questions about her – which I think means she’s on the way out. So Clooney will be single soon, maybe.

Aaron Paul is adorable. Beautiful eyes. I would love to see more of him. And he won his first Emmy, bitches!

Jon Hamm is just so lovely. Sigh… is there anything else to say about him, really? His dance moves are killer and he wears the f-ck out of a tux. Sweet Jesus. His girlfriend better watch her back.

Alexander Skarsgard was there, although he barely posed for any photos. But he did present with Paquin & Moyer. Rumor going around that he and Kate Bosworth are over… I might write about it in a sec. So… hello, Mr. Skarsgard.

I swoon a little when Stephen Moyer talks in his regular British accent. He’s very sexy in real life, although he’s pretty short. Little pocket rocket.

Nathan Fillion! I cosign his hotness. He’s lovely.

I love Eric Stonestreet. He’s amazing. And I’m so glad he won!

Matthew Morrison’s hair brings the funk. Hideous. He needs shorter hair, for real.

By popular demand, I present to you this week’s Hot Guy Friday! Actually, I think it was just two commenters who were begging for this, but you girls (and a few dudes?) seem to enjoy it, so let’s get started, shall we? Unfortunately, this week wasn’t amazing for random hot men being spotted by photographers, so I’m probably going to add some vintage glimpses at some of our favorite dudes. Above is my lover Liam Neeson. He and the A-Team crew have been working their asses off this week promoting the film in Europe. I’ve been so focused on Jessica Biel’s horrendous fashion statements that I kind of missed all of the lovely Liam photos. I love Liam and his jaunty little toothpick. God, I just adore this man!

Speaking of The A-Team, have we ever talked about Sharlto Copley and what a cutie he is? He really is rather gorgeous and rugged. Rampage Jackson is here too – if you like your man really big:

Mark Wahlberg got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, and he looked really fine. Does Mark do it for you? He does it for me, big time. But only in dramatic roles.

Two weeks ago, I introduced this concept of “Hot Guy Friday” – just a post devoted to new or newish photos of various hot men from the week. I didn’t follow up on it last week, and for that I apologize. But since today is kind of slow, why not revisit it? There are a ton of photos coming in from Comic-Con, and a lot of hot men showed up to promote their shizz. Since humor is oh-so-sexy, let’s start off with my lover Will Ferrell, dressed up as “Megamind” from the cartoon he did voice work for. I can’t even look at these photos without chuckling. I bet Will was so into it, he even painted his wang blue. Anything for comedy.

Is it just me, or is Aaron Eckhart’s chin dimple growing in size? He’s still sexy, though. His face just looks a little cartoony.

My mom wants to wrap Matt Bomer up in bacon and devour him, she loves this kid so much. He’s a Southern boy, and she loves that. I find him excessively pretty, but still very pleasurable to look at:

And because no hot-guy list would be complete, Jeremy Piven. He just turned 45 years old! And still with the hairline of a 32 year old! How does he make that happen? Honestly, though, he looks kind of cute here.

Did you ever want to see a photo of a dripping-wet Stephen Baldwin? No? Too bad, because here he is, in all his glory. That’s not water that dampens his skin, it’s Jesus’s tears. Can you tell my allergy medicine just kicked in? Anyway, doesn’t he look like he’s sucking in his gut big-time? Like he’s sucking and holding his breathe thinking “Takethepicturedammit.” I also think he might have laser eyes.

Now, Stephen wasn’t the only one tweaking his nipples for Cosmo UK. America’s Next Top Model judge and photographer Nigel Barker also posed with the ass of his wife. Judging from her ass alone, I don’t like her. Also: Holy Shadow Wang! Why didn’t someone turn on a desk lamp when they were doing pictures? Nigel’s got his legs spread and that towel is reaching for a stiff breeze.

There’s also Jesse Metcalfe, also known as “Who?” He looks like he smelled something.

But my favorite dude of the whole pictorial was this one – Louie Spence. Apparently, he’s the star of “Pineapple Dance Studios” which I guess is a show in England? I adore Louie because he has no qualms about rubbing a pineapple on his wang. Or is f-cking that pineapple? The pineapple is, at the very least, a close friend. I expect Louie’s publicist to issue a statement any moment now: “Louie and the pineapple are just costars, the pineapple is happily married.”

The Hot-Man Buffet at this year’s Oscars was totally tragic. I mean, sure, there were a few hot guys there, but it just seemed like they were few and far between. Like we have to make do with only a few hot-dude morsels. I mean, Bradley Cooper? Does he make you hot? He doesn’t do it for me, but I guess some women like it. Gerard looked unkempt, like he’d just rolled out of bed after having spent the past ten hours being serviced by three hookers. Like he was smug and tired and horny and dirty all at once.

Now, I loved Robert Downey Jr. If it was anyone else wearing sneakers and a blue bow-tie, I would probably slam him. But it works on RDJ, doesn’t it? He was so well-groomed too, and he looked so happy to be there. I thought his co-presenting with Tina Fey was one of the highlights, and I also love to see how much he adores his wife Susan (who looked really pretty!).

I’ve begun to fall in love with Jake Gyllenhaal a little bit, so I liked his look. Yes, I wish he had shaved (it’s the Oscars, not a Tokyo photo call), but he looks really great in a classic tux.

Sigh… we need more Dudes in the world. Jeff is so sexy. His niceness and decency are the ultimate aphrodisiac.

I love Christoph Waltz too, just because he comes across as a really nice, hard-working man who hit the lottery with this role. I like how groomed his beard is.

Ryan Reynolds… orange much? Meh. He’s totally vanilla to me, but enjoy.

Jeremy Renner is so cute and tiny (and orange). He’s my little pocket boyfriend. Like the blue/silver tie.

Lenny Kravitz looks… high. But good. I get it when women list Kravitz as one of their favorites.

Chris Pine is such a good looking kid, but I get the feeling he’s a smug bastard. I could be wrong, though. And God knows I love ‘em a little arrogant. His voice plucks my nerves though. He sounds like Ryan Seacrest.

Aw, Matt Damon. He’s so cute! I wonder if he’ll always look this f-cking boyish? Lucy looks totally pregnant again too! What will this be, their fourth?

I can’t help it, I love Antonio Banderas. Melanie looked okay too. Not like the Wrath of God. Good for her.

My mom couldn’t get over how pretty Colin Firth’s wife is. He looked really lovely too – I really liked when he got a little emotional when Julianne Moore was talking about him, and he covered his mouth.

I forgot Sam Worthington initially, sorry about that! CB thinks he’s hot. I think he’s meh. Good accent though.

Sean Penn stayed relatively quiet and classy, so I won’t yell at him. For now.

Tom Ford is such a sexy bitch. I love him.

Clooney looked horrible, didn’t he? Just drunk and unkempt and grumpy and like he didn’t want to be there. I blame Elisabetta and her Tweaked Nips of Doom.

I was glancing through the photos this morning, and I noticed something lovely. Some of the hottest guys of Hollywood have come out to play for many of the pre-Oscar bashes in Los Angeles. So even though we don’t really have anything to report on these guys, I still thought we’d all enjoy looking at pretty photos of some of the dudes that we don’t always get to look at. Eli Roth (above) has been all over the place this awards season, but I rarely write about him. He’s one of my top crushes these days, just because I like what a naughty “basterd” he is. Sigh… I love him.

Here’s Jeremy Renner with his mom! She’s going to be his date for the Oscars, and I guess she gets to have some of the pre-party fun too. His mom is really cute! She must be so proud of him. I like how he’s trying to do the squinty/smoldering pose while standing next to his mom.

Well, hello, Aaron Eckhart, you sexy bearded bastard. Mm… he looks good enough to eat.

Have I ever mentioned that I find Jason Statham attractive? You know I like arrogance in a man, and he wears it well. I appreciate when a guy is going bald and he just shaves everything off. And his body is fantastic. Sidenote: that’s the back of Oliver Stone’s head.

Olivier Martinez! He looks really good too. I wish we saw more of his rat face, I enjoy it. He was there with his girlfriend Elsa Pataki (the one who was dating Adrien Brody, and he bought her a castle, and she left him for Olivier).

Some women find Ashton Kutcher hot. I’m not one of them, but I’m crushing on Demi’s beautiful dress.

Never really gotten the Matt Dillon thing. Unless we’re talking about Wild Things. But even then, it wasn’t really about Matt Dillon.

I saw James Marsden in that dumb 27 Dresses movie, and I kind of liked him. It was a dumb movie full of dumb characters, but he was the best part. He’s got gorgeous eyes.

Dave Annabel is one of my quiet crushes. He isn’t up to “imaginary boyfriend” status, but he just seems like such a sweetheart. He just got engaged too. He seems like the kind of guy who just wants to settle down and have a home. Nice to see those dudes still exist.

Adrien Brody! He looks good. Perhaps he’s still a little heartbroken over Elsa. He looks depressed, doesn’t he? Sigh… I could cheer him up.
