Madonna is too old to try to define what’s cool

Madonna can’t make up her mind what’s cool anymore, so she’s going to try to cram as much as possible into her new tour, including shit that only she considers interesting.

First off, Madonna is going to show off her new krump dancing moves. Krump is the urban dance made popular in the documentary “Rize.” Madonna’s new tour is also using Studio 54 as an inspiration for the set, which will feature fantasy scenes from the famous nightspot.

Not content to just stick with the disco debauchery meets urban dance theme, Madonna will muddy the waters with on-stage homages to her favorite pasttimes, horseriding and kaballah. She’s also throwing some urban running in there, in case none of the other shit sticks:

A source said: “Madonna has been practising krumping ever since she filmed the videos to Hung Up and Sorry.

“Madge has ordered a unique spinning platform to be designed so she and her dancers can recreate Studio 54′s extravagant scenes.

“She has also ordered dozens of disco balls to decorate the stage with authentic Seventies lighting.”

The show will open with a Disco Queen section, featuring girls in sparkling suits, male dancers dressed as pimps and more dancers roller-skating.

Another section, American Land, will indulge Madonna’s obsession with horses, with video walls showing footage of her riding scantily clad in the pouring rain.

A third part, Oriental And Eastern, will see Madonna joined on stage by a Kabbalah singer to perform a remix of her brilliant album track Isaac.

One section will have a Parkour specialist — the wacky sport on the BBC promotional film with a bloke running across London rooftops. Madge will also showcase some new music, if her label Warner give the go-ahead.

Madonna, make up your mind. Just because your last tour was too Kaballah heavy doesn’t mean you don’t have to stick with a central theme. Your tour may look good and maybe you can even pull it off, but it sounds like a total mess to us.

Madonna’s tour opens in LA this May, and may even hit Israel – surprise surprise.

Here’s Madonna with little Lourdes. Lourdes’ stylist seems to be going with the junior preppy look for the pre-’tween.

Ashlee Simpson calls her boobs amazing

“Singer” Ashlee Simpson, 21, admitted to having an eating disorder for a six month period while she was studying to be a dancer. She said that she’s over that now, and thinks it’s sad that people can’t accept their bodies. She then admits to loving her body a little too much:

“I have amazing boobs. I do; I know it. They’re not too big, not too small. They’re just perfect.”

“It’s sexy not to be a bone,” Ashlee proclaims

At least the praise is coming from Ashlee herself, and not her creepy-ass father.

Ashlee and her great tits surfed on an MTV special “Kelly Slater Celebrity Surf Invitational,” that aired on March 25.

Here are some pictures of Ashlee surfing and contorting her face at a concert in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday. Ashlee will play in Wisconsin tomorrow night, but it may be empty in the concert hall. As of last week less than 1,000 tickets were sold.

Seven more pictures after the jump.

Aguilera changes focus on new album

Christina Alguilera’s latest album is a departure from the pop genre and will feature jazz-inspired songs with an authentic feel. Alguilera says her “Back to Basics” album, which is due out in June, has a “20s and 30s vibe.” Called one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Aguilera’s description suggests it won’t dissapoint:

She told America’s Rolling Stone magazine: “The album has a throwback style using horn samples so it sounds gritty and old. But we’ve been able to splice it into something that people can still dance to in the clubs.”

We detailed earlier how Christina chose rap producer DJ Premiere to produce five tracks for her album. It sounds like Christina’s newest release will be a commercial and critical success.

Here she is outside of the Little Door restaurant in Hollywood last night. Pictures [via]

Mariah Carey: Snoop is a bigger diva than me

Now we know the reason why only Pharrell came to Paris to film his part in the Say Something video – Snoop would have been too expensive:

MARIAH CAREY insists rapper SNOOP DOGG is such a diva she decided it would be best he filmed his contribution to her forthcoming music video in Los Angeles, rather than fly his entourage to Paris, France. Carey and PHARRELL WILLIAMS shot the majority of the promo for SAY SOMETHIN’ in the French capital last week… while Snoop filmed his section in LA on Sunday. Carey tells MTV, “If you guys think I’m a diva and I have requirements, Snoop is the next level. He’s the hip-hop king. “

Mariah goes on to emphasize how over-the-top Snoop’s requirements are, without getting into specifics. Maybe he just didn’t feel like flying to Europe to work and decided it would be easier if the work came to him.

Mariah may be taking advantage of her 20 pound weight loss to become a spokesperson for a fashion house. She is said to have been noticed by Louis Vuitton higher-ups while filming “Say Something” in their Paris store. Her rep said that “she is in talks” with “quite a few fashion labels.” [via]

Mariah, no matter what you say Snoop cannot out-diva you.

Pink thinks fighting and stripping are the keys to a successful marriage

Pink is planning to surprise her husband of three months, motocross rider Carey Hart, with an erotic pole dance backstage tonight in London where she’s performing. She has been learning the tricks of the stripping trade in a bid to liven up her act. Pink has also hired lap dancers from LA to perform in her show, and wants them to get in on the action backstage too:

“Pink wants a party all of her own before the show for her fans begins,” our spy tells us.

“Pink plans to have a lot of fun with the lapdancers both on stage and off,” adds our spy.

“By the end of the night, Carey will think all his Christmases have come at once.”

No man would refuse that.

Pink also credits fighting with keeping her marriage and her creativity fresh:

[Pink] insists on having fights with her man to help get her inspiration back. She told Daily Record newspaper: “It’s much harder to write when you are in love. You need to turn that off and go have a fight. There is definite passion in our relationship, which always helps.”

It sounds like she has it at least half right.

Here she is in a spread for Blender magazine.

Ashlee Simpson has the wrong impression of the Japanese healthcare system

Ashlee Simpson is talking about her bout with the exhaustion virus that claims countless young pop starlets each year. In mid-December, 2005 after a busy US tour, she went to Japan where she had to be hospitalized in less than ideal quarters:

The singer was promoting her new album, ‘Autobiography,’ and her very busy schedule was too much to bear.

She said, “I finished my US tour and went straight to Japan.”

She explains, “I didn’t go to a nice emergency room – I ended up in one with blood on the walls. Nasty.”

“I was dehydrated. I had bronchitis.”

She adds, “Who knows exactly what it was? I think it was just complete exhaustion.”

Despite Ashlee’s impression, Japan’s health care system is much better than that of the United States. In a 2000 report by the World Health Organization, Japan ranked 10th overall in health care while the US came in at 37th – below most other industrialized nations. The US also has a higher infant mortality rate than Japan.

Here are pictures of Ashlee in April’s Jane magazine.

Christina Aguilera uses rap producer for new album

Christina Aguilera surprised a rap producer by asking for him to collaborate on her new album. DJ Premiere has worked with Notorious B.I.G., KRS-One, Jay-Z, Nas and Jadakiss, but did not expect the pop singer to know who he was. Premiere produced five songs for Aguilera’s Back to Basics album, which should be out this June:

Premier, who is idolized for his authentic, raw production style, was surprised the former “Genie in a Bottle” reached out to him.

“It was kind of a shock because I was like, ‘How the hell does she know about me?’” Premier told Billboard about his first conversation with RCA about Aguilera’s album. “I’m one of those guys that really doesn’t expect pop artists to really be up on me. My first question was, ‘What does she know about me?’”

As it turned out, Aguilera was quite a fan of his production style on classic Gang Starr material like “Jazz Thing”.

Here’s Aguilera looking well couiffed backstage at the Agent Provocateur fashion show in LA yesterday:

James Blunt’s music used to suck even worse

WTF is wrong with this guy?
A producer who has worked with stars such as Dido and Samantha Mumbo claims that he helped Blunt create his signature simplistic music, and that Blunt screwed him once he got a music contract. What’s more, Blunt’s music was even worse before this guy reworked it for him:

[The Producer, Burton] says Blunt’s music used to be “crude, occasionally laughably direct, and betrayed his relative lack of musicianship or discernible influence.” Burton says he saw potential, however, and started working with him.

Burton… wrote on a website: “A couple of people told me I shouldn’t be working with him without a contract in place.

“But to be honest the love couldn’t have been thicker in the air – lots of talk about how great the record was going to be and how cool the whole situation was.”

The UK Performing Rights Society thinks the claims are legitimate enough to be considered, and has stopped royalty payments on 6 songs from Blunt’s album “Back to Bedlam” until the case is resolved.

Also, Blunt’s girlfriend, who is supposed to be the inspiration for that terrible song “You’re Beautiful,” wants to dump his ass. Supposedly he’s not spending enough time with her, but we think she just came to her senses.

Tobias Regner wins Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar

picture of rocker Tobias Regner
Last night’s winner of Germany’s Idol is smoking hot 23 year-old rocker, Tobias Regner. He was the most down to earth and talented of the finalists and we were rooting for him. He has performed in a band for years and was comfortable and natural on stage.

A romance between two of the top four finalists skewed voting and screwed singer Nevio Passaro (linked site has automatic music) out of a chance at the top two. Passaro ocassionally sung in Italian and was more talented than clingly couple Mike Leon Grosch and Vanessa Jean Dedmon (linked site has automatic music). The producers played up Mike and Vanessa’s relationship in the Valentine’s episode and even had the two sing to each other when they were in the top three. Mike cried like a baby on stage after singing “You are so Beautiful” for Vanessa.

Nevio was voted out of the top four in an upset. Vanessa and Mike stayed on to keep singing boring 90s ballads, with Mike making it to the final. Mike was a wedding singer who favored Seal songs and had a gruff but strong voice. He was beaten by versatile rocker Tobias, who got 55% of the vote.

You can hear the song Tobias wrote and performed on the final on his website in English (linked site has automatic music) and there are more videos of cutie Tobias on YouTube.

Tobias is a talented, likable guy and we hope he makes it big around the world.

Tobias’ performance of Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me” two weeks ago is one of our favorites:
