Stars with and without makeup

My BFF hairdresser back in the states, Ken, also went to cosmetology school. He did me up a few times before we went out and I looked incredible if I do say so myself. Makeup does wonders. It's a shame I'm not rich or I would fly him over here to hang out and make me look gorgeous every day. Access to top-notch makeup and hair experts is one of the major advantages of being a celebrity. (That and not having to deal with all the bullshit at the airport. Now we can't even bring our own water or books onto a plane. Do you think that makes us safer, because it seems like exactly the sort of thing that would please the terrorists. I'm just saying.)

Renee Zellweger (the before picture could be from "Bridget Jones")

Tori Spelling - ouch!

Kate Hudson - adorable

Pam Anderson - not bad

Thanks to Cherryjam at JJB for posting this and creating the pictures.

Tori Spelling is the face of dog rescue

Poor Tori Spelling and her downtrodden husband, Dean McDermott. Whenever they go to events now they have to network hard so that they can get acting gigs on Lifetime. They look tired and miserable at this benefit for the Much Love animal rescue. Tori was honored for her work as "Much Love [Animal Resue's] most dedicated famous face." That joke just wrote itself!

She also adopted two "Much Love" rescue dogs. Aww. She doesn't look pregnant in this dress, as is the rumor now that she's registered for a bunch of posh baby stuff. Her stomach's showing and it's hardly puffing out.

Tori is so poor now that she can't afford to get her roots dyed.

Tori Spelling is either pregnant or really, really wants a designer baby

Tori's essentially been cut out of her dad's will in a deal that would make most of us ecstatic with joy. Poor Tori can't continue her frivolous lifestyle unless her friends chip in to keep her in the illusory labels she's accustomed to. She's registered at a chic baby boutique, meaning that she's pregnant or desperately planning to be. The gossip rags have been divided on Tori's pregnancy, but it seems likely in light of this latest news:

Spelling is also hoping that friends dig into their pockets to help her furnish her nursery, so she’s registered for pricey goods at Petit Tresor, the swank Los Angeles baby store favored by celebs such as Britney Spears. Spelling has not commented on rumors that she’s pregnant and a spokeswoman for the shop told The Scoop, “we don’t discuss such private matters.”

“She was in with her husband [Dean McDermott], who was very sweet and seemed to be intimately involved with all the decisions,” reports a spy. “They registered for tons of things, including furniture.”

I would bet that Tori's seriously in debt. If she's resorted to selling her clothes on eBay she must have better things to worry about than whether her unborn baby will be decked out in the latest high-priced accessories.

Instead of reassessing her life and shopping at average stores for her baby stuff like the rest of us, Tori is still clinging to the vestiges of wealth. She doesn't know any better. It's making her miserable and she's going to lose everything, but she just can't let go.

Tori laughs all the way to her deceased daddy's bank

Tori Spelling's not pregnant, so there's no excuse for that weird satin number she was wearing a few weeks ago. She's also due to inherit a large portion of her father's $500 million estate, so she really doesn't give a shit if her cheating pageant-winner mom likes her or not:

Tori Spelling will be seeing green after all. After her father, Aaron, passed away on June 18, there was speculation that Candy Spelling would block her daughter from any inheritance (the two are estranged over Candy’s long-running relationship with Mark Nathanson, which Tori calls “inappropriate”).

But a source tells Us that Tori, 33, will get “a significant portion” of Aaron Spelling’s estimated $500 million estate. Adds the pal, “If Candy had her way, Tori wouldn’t have gotten a thing.”

Obviously Tori knew that she didn't have to get into her mother's good graces to cash in on her inheritance or she wouldn't have talked so openly about getting snubbed by her family.

Let me just apologize for the lack of posting lately. It's hot as hell here in eco-friendly Switzerland without air conditioning, and my son's babysitter is on vacation. To encourage me to continue digging celebrity gossip, please visit the sponsors. Thank you!

Here is Tori at the Much Music awards in Canada last month. [via]

Tori Spelling learned by text message of her father's death

Tori Spelling's relationship with her mother is so bad that she didn't learn about her father television producer Aaron's death until after it hit the media - and she read a consolation e-mail from a friend:

On the night of June 23, Tori Spelling sat in Betty's restaurant in Toronto, eating a hamburger with... her husband... although her father... had suffered a stroke five days earlier, he was, as far as she knew, resting comfortably at his home. Tori was booked on a flight leaving the next morning for L.A. "I was told he could have had months to live," she tells Us.

Then, during dinner, came the heartbreaking news, received in the inbox of her BlackBerry: "A friend of mine had seen a TV report and e-mailed me, 'I'm so sorry. I just heard your father died.' And I was in total shock."

The strange truth, says Tori, is that she had not received a call from anyone in her family before the death was made public. Her sorrow quickly turned to anger. "My first thought was, I can't believe my mom didn't call me!"

(From Us Weekly print edition, 7/10/06)

Tori is fighting with her mom, Candy, and hasn't spoken to her for months. She wanted to make fun of her mom's eBay hobby in her VH1 faux reality show, so NoTORIous, but her mom got pissed and refused to go along with it. Loni Anderson had to play her mom on the series.

Tori says that she did see her dad on June 11th, and that she believes he held on until he was able to see her, and then was able to slip quietly away.

"Honesly, I believe 100 percent [he was holding on for me]," she says. "And part of me knew as soon as I saw him he would start to let go." Their final conversation took place just days after his stroke. "The last words he spoke to me were over the phone a couple days before he passed," she recalls. "He said, 'I love you, babe.'"

When I read that Tori thought she somehow gave her dad permission to die, I thought that was arrogant of her. Then I asked a couple of people about it and they had similar stories of loved ones waiting to see someone before they died. This is all too sad to think about, so let's move on to trashing Tori.

It's not surprising that her family isn't pleased with her. She left her first husband, writer Charlie Shanian, after barely a year of marriage and a $1 million wedding at her father's estate. She was cheating on the guy with actor Dean McDermott, who was also married with a wife and kids at home. She married McDermott in a private ceremony in Fiji on May 7 with none of her family present.

Tori attended her dad's funeral on June 25th, but her mom issued a statement about Aaron's death the day before only on behalf of herself and Randy. Tori's name was left off in a deliberate snub.

The US Weekly article speculates that Tori's mom may be having an affair with "Beverly Hills businessman Mark Nathansan." Of course Tori blabbed about this to the rag, but then she tries to take the high road by saying "My mom's behavior simply made me uncomfortable to be around my family."

Tori's mom is completely outraged by accusations in the cover story on this week's Us, and issued another statement condemning Tori for her big mouth:

"We are deeply saddened that, during our time of loss and grief, we are forced to respond to the media frenzy caused by the mean-spirited and surprising comments made by Tori to the press, just two days after the passing of [AARON SPELLING]. As we try to honor his memory with love and respect, the sudden media frenzy she has created at this sensitive time is hurtful and very disturbing. Aaron's legacy deserved pure and unadulterated tribute and recognition which, sadly, has been tainted.

Everyone deals with grief in a different way, and since Tori chose not to be here at that time, we believe she is having a harder time dealing with that loss. We understand how difficult it might have been for her to be here, and, perhaps, more difficult for her after she arrived. Aaron loved both his children with all his heart, and he understood how hard it was for her.

We hope Aaron will be remembered with reverence and spirit for the monumental legacy he has left and not for the petty and tabloid headlines which have marred his articles of remembrance. We have mourned our great loss as a family and will continue to do so as that is what Aaron deserved."

Tori's father Aaron was known for conspicuous consumption and has the largest mansion in all of California. Her mother is characterized by Us as "an ex-model with a penchant for furs, diamonds and doll-collecting."

No details of Aaron Spelling's will have been made public yet, but Tori must be expecting to get a large chunk of her father's fortune or she wouldn't be so bold as to sell her story so soon after her father's death.

Tori is rumored to be pregnant, which might explain the terrible outfit she wore to the Linea Pelle 20th Anniversary Party in LA on 6/12.

Hot Hollywood Awards: huge picture post

Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood Awards were held Wednesday night. Jessica Alba had a near nip-slip that resulted in some cute picture of her pulling her dress strap up. (Wireimage did not capture this, so you'll have to see it everywhere else.)

Despite Us Weekly's content, stars were pleased to show up for the party.

Jennifer Love Hewitt said she has ended up several times on the magazine's worst-dressed list, but was still tickled that she won the hottest body award in the new issue. Both Hewitt and Jesse McCartney showed up with shorter 'dos. And Tori Spelling confirmed that she has hired a wedding planner for her upcoming nuptials to Dean McDermott. Still, she insisted she's planning something small. "I just want to look good for him," Spelling said.

We have over 50 pictures of the party arrivals, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Alba, Alessandra Ambrosio, Brittany Murphy, Cindy Margolis, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Ludacris, Harry Hamlin, Lisa Rinna, Haylie Duff, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Paris Hilton, Victoria Silvstedt, Avril Lavigne, Carmen Electra, Dave Navarro, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rachael Leigh Cook, Nicky Hilton, Gabrielle Union, Kelly Osbourne, Kimberly Stewart, Stacy Keibler, Ryan Seacrest, Sofia Vergara, Taryn Manning, Maria Sharapova, Melinda Clarke, Tom Green with a fanny pack, and Tori Spelling.

Update: Images removed on request.

Tori Spelling's mom no longer talks to her

Tori Spelling's mom was said to be pissed that Tori was planning on making fun of her eBay obsession on her new faux-reality series for VH1, sonoTORIous. Now that the show has aired, with Loni Anderson playing Tori's bitchy mom, Tori's real mom won't even talk to her.

The show is less than kind in its portrayal of Candy Spelling, played by Loni Anderson, and the mother of the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star is reportedly so angry, she no longer speaks to her daughter, TMZ.com reported Wednesday.

Tori's divorce from Charlie Shanian is due to be finalized after a million-dollar wedding and a mere 14 months of marriage. She is now free to marry her fiance, Dean McDermott..

Here she is at the Hollywood Life Reception For "So noTORIous" at Pizarro Design Studio last night.

Tori Spelling is entertained by drag queens impersonating her

Tori Spelling has decided to cash in on the fact that people mock her constantly, and even welcomed some drag queens impersonating her at party to celebrate her new faux-reality show, so NoTORIous:

In the show, you tackle all the jokes about yourself. How does it feel to be the one to make the joke?

It’s been really freeing. I’ve been a target my entire life. At this point, there’s nothing anyone can say that will faze me. Bring it on! It’s more material for the show.

So you’re beyond being offended?

VH1 and Out magazine are (throwing) a party for the show, and they’re hiring Tori drag queens! They were like, "Does that offend you?" Of course it doesn’t offend me! There’s this famous drag queen called Suppositori Spelling. I’m like, "You have to find her!"

That's a good attitude to have, and she's going to get the last laugh if her show is a success. Here are pictures of Tori and her marked man at the XL Lounge in LA NY (thanks Mark) to promote the premiere of So NoTORIous last night.

Tori Spelling makes fun of herself in new reality series

So we've all heard about Tori Spellings new psuedo-reality series on VH1, "So NoTORIous." The NY Times reports how Tori came up with the idea for the show and tried to sell it to different networks. She made a scrapbook of her most embarassing moments and described them to network executives in her pitch. Last year, NBC almost picked up the pilot for the Fall, but backed out.

She... showed them a scrapbook of her most embarrassing public moments, as captured by the tabloids, and seemed happy to go into detail about each incident. (No, she does not have cellulite, she told the writers, but yes, she does pick her nose.) Mr. Chessler said they were charmed. "It was very engaging and winning to hear somebody that self-aware," he said.

Armed with the scrapbook, Ms. Spelling went to the networks with the idea for the series, and NBC bought it. When the writing process began, the two writers and Ms. Spelling discussed the show's parameters: was anything off limits? Ms. Spelling said, "I was, like, 'Literally, anything you've ever read about me, true or false: go for it.' "

At first, Mr. Chessler and Mr. Alberghini said they couldn't believe she meant it. "Mike or I would pitch something," Mr. Alberghini said, "and Tori would go, 'Yeah, but, I think it would just be funnier if we said I have buggy eyes.' And we'd be, like: 'Wow! O.K.!' "

After NBC decided not to run the show, VH1 picked it up as its first scripted series.

We didn't know the show's history and that's great that Spelling came up with the idea to mock herself. We have more respect for her now and hope the new show is a success.

Here's Tori at the So NoTORIous party in LA on 3/28 with her branded fiance, Dean McDermott.

And here's a promo for her show.
