Princess Eugenie of York married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018. I think many of us believed she would get pregnant pretty quickly, and there were rumors here and there over the past two years, but nothing ended up happening until the pandemic. Eugenie and Jack are expecting their first, and the announcement is less than a month shy of their second wedding anniversary:
There’s another royal baby on the way – this time for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank! The royal couple are expecting their first child together, Buckingham Palace confirmed. It is due early next year.
This will be the first grandchild for Eugenie’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip‘s ninth great-grandchild.
In a statement, the palace said, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021. The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”
Eugenie’s Instagram announcement says “early 2021.” Which makes me wonder how far along she is! It also makes me wonder – and I’m laughing as I type this – if Eugenie quietly told her family that she was expecting during Beatrice’s pandemic wedding, which happened in mid-July, roughly what? Five or six weeks ago? If Eugenie’s already four or five months along right now, it’s possible! Which would just be carrying on a royal tradition, since that’s what Meghan did during Eugenie’s wedding.
Also: is this why Bea and Eugenie went to a private nightclub this week? To celebrate the pregnancy? Why would you go to a nightclub in the middle of a pandemic… while pregnant??

It is so dumb to go galavanting around London anyways let alone at the early stages of a pregnancy in a pandemic. Or is this to kill that criticism and pretend they were celebrating.
Entitlement. They have access to Britain’s best health care and know it.
The virus doesn’t care about how much money it’s carrier has and if she got it while pregnant the best health care in the world could only do so much. It’s a dumb risk.
New report out a few days ago saying pregnant women suffer the virus more than others, and it HAS been shown to pass to a fetus (babies have been BORN WITH covid). Galavanting to a night club, even in the 2nd trimester isn’t a risk I’d be willing to take. But you do you, Eugie.
Noticed how others in the doorway weren’t wearing masks. Why would you take the chance?
If they’re anything like elites here in the US- celebs, executives, athletes, the royals and the people around them have access to rapid testing and can take multiple tests a day as necessary which cuts down on outbreaks massively.
They can take all the tests they want but unless everyone in that club also got tested that day, which we know didn’t happen, it’s a risk.

From what we’ve heard, Beatrice and Jack were “close” with Meghan and Harry in the beginning. I think she was a real pill at the wedding, so I don’t know how far those feelings go.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see her do the same thing as Meghan as it would be preferable to be compared with her than Kate who she does not like…We’ll see soon enough!
Do people really pick what hospitals to have a baby to spite or emulate someone else? She’ll have the baby where it’s best for her – where her doctor is, what she thinks is safest for her and her baby. The same factors that Meghan correctly took in account.

Eugenie and Beatrice were born at the Portland Hospital where Meghan had Archie so she might choose that one.

Congrats to them both! I hate bump watching but I saw pictures of her shopping in Notting Hill a week ago and you could tell she’s not only pregnant but possible quite comfortably in her 2nd trimester – everyone carries pregnancy differently so that may just be me.

Looks like it was edited in the shot posted here, probably so Fergie can sell the exclusive regarding the gender to Hello! Eugenie and Jack will now need a home of their own for the baby. Perhaps an apartment at KP or is there another derelict building on the grounds of Windsor with their name on it? That tequila money should be good for some major renovations, right?

I don’t know how big Ivy Cottage (Where they live currently) is, might be big enough for them, but I would not be surprised to see them upgrade to a bigger place soon. It would send such a strong message, IMO, if they did buy their own place separate from the royal compounds, but I doubt that will happen.
They probably will not buy their own place in London for security reasons. The security at Kensington Palace is pretty tight and is already paid for. I would guess they will be gifted a larger place in KP if there is a larger place vacant.
I’m sure Andrew’s already working on persuading the Queen to arrange something long-term.

Apartment 1 is the secondary residence to the Cambridge’s. It was redone massively twice with several separate sectional renovations.
How the York girls get away with everything is so interesting considering the Frogmore Cottage debacle. Bea was a friend’s floor neighbour in NYC, rent was over $10K a month for sure (high if she had more bedrooms would have been $35K)

Going out to a club to celebrate reminds me of what one of my best friends did to celebrate her pregnancy during this pandemic. She and her husband knew the sex of their baby, but she decided to bake gender reveal cupcakes for…her husband’s coworkers. Said husband is an ER nurse in a large hospital. He snuck my friend into the ER so they could have this party (like all hospitals, this one was not letting people in for any reason at the time).
After I pointed out that her husband could get fired for that and she could contract Covid, I asked her why she needed to do something like this, especially now. She replied that his coworkers would want to know. I just shrugged.

Yes. The only people who could need a gender-revelation are invited baby shower guests. Trust me, most people don’t care an iota about the gender of co-workers’ unborn babies. Sure, its a BFD to the parental couple & maybe to their families & closest friends, but to the rest of us? Nope.
Some idiots in California started one of the big forest fires a few weeks ago because their pyrotechnic, colored-smoke emitting device sparked a major & devastating burn. I hope they get a citation & a fine.

No one other than parents and maybe grandparents actually care about the gender of a baby. No one else does and is just pretending to care. These kinds of parties basically rely on stereotypes about gender and are an exercise in narcissism.
Yeah…I entertained myself with imagining the coworkers’ reactions, especially in a busy ER during a pandemic. She also did a big maternity photo shoot with a photographer who came down with Covid less than a week later. It’s basically a “pics or it didn’t happen” mentality. Love my friend, but her behavior is so ridiculous given the current situation.
If your friend HAD to reveal the gender to her husband’s coworkers, why couldn’t he just bring in the cupcakes and leave her at home?
Exactly what I was thinking. It could’ve been a sorta sweet way to treat your busy, stressed coworkers while informing people of the news.

Annabels isn’t a nightclub in the way you would think of a nightclub. It’s more like a bar v segregated with different rooms. I don’t pass comment on whether it’s appropriate either safety wise or optics wise. It’s just not logistically a crowded dance floor with bar access and shot girls.
In a non pandemic time it would be a nothing issue, but just going to a restaurant right now is a higher risk activity and unless people are cleared and they had the building to themselves, it wasn’t a necessary risk just for a photo op.
That said it was interesting that Edo wasn’t at what looked like a dinner to celebrate the pregnancy announcement.

The thing that I currently hate seeing the most on Facebook is pictures of weddings, showers, and birthday parties with unmasked people. It sucks that we can’t do those things safely right now, but we can’t.
So another baby that UK taxpayers can support? Mild yah.
It remains ridiculous for Eugenie to use the HRH but what is even dumber is the British high society habit of erasing married women in these types of announcements. Jack’s mother apparently does not merit a first name. It remains incredibly stupid and sexist when they do this. I think the UK needs their own RBG to help move this along because the UK media also still refers to women as Mrs and adult women as Miss in professional business settings, even counsel at court, and this is thirty years behind the rest of the modern world. In North America all adult women are called Ms (unless it’s a hard core conservative who likes announcing her marital status). This should be the standard in the English language world. I should note in French that Mme has been in use for many decades as well. It’s mostly the UK that is backwards on this.

Just finished watching a really funny British series called the Other One starring the actress who played Eugenie in the Windsor’s. So that’s all I can see when I watch her. She’s hilarious in the Windsor’s and really good in this new show.

If Eugenie is due in early 2021 then she was likely only weeks pregnant and not showing. It is massively unfair to attack a woman who was clearly visibly pregnant and expect her to hide her body for the sensitive feelings of a bride who was not exactly being ignored that day. So many go on about body shaming Kate for being too thin but attacking a pregnant woman for looking pregnant is even worse. She can’t even control how her body looks during a pregnancy.
