Especially since Ms. Perry is a spokeswoman for ProActive.

  2. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

We all have times where we have bad break-outs, no matter how much time you put in on skin care. I go for months without a zit, and then BAM! I look like a teen, all broken out and in need of ProActive.

  3. missmilly says:

That doesnt even look like her, how can we believe that’s her?

  4. deejayspicerack says:

this chick wears an insane amount of make-up, it’s almost cartoon-ish no wonder her skin looks like this.

  5. Oi says:

Sela Ward AND Skeet Ulrich in CSI:NY? I might not be able to resist…

  6. original kate says:

i really regret clicking on the tori spelling link.

  7. Amy says:

Aw, come on. I’m with Fluffy. I will have porcelain skin for months, then suddenly look like a pizza face. Of all the things to make fun of her for, let’s not make it something she can’t control!

  8. MM says:

I agree she probably can’t help it. I bet the amount of makeup she has to wear when performing clogs up her pores in a major way.

  9. nycmom10024 says:

That is why she is the spokesperson for ProActive very bad acne.

  10. mAnDa3 says:

SHE IS DOING ADVERTISING FOR PROACTIVE NOW. HMMM. USE IT MUCH OR DOES IT NOT WORK………

  11. Isa says:

Proactive didn’t work for me. Or anyone I know. I do use a 10% benzyol peroxide face wash and that helps a lot, but I don’t have perfect skin. Never expect to, I’m just glad I’m not in constant pain.
I’m interested to know what make up she uses to cover all that up?

  12. faye says:

    looks like a mosquito bite.

  13. melina says:

Kaiser, I’ve been reading some of your older articles and in one of them you were complaining that they always airbrush Cameron Diaz’s skin to look flawless even though she has obvious skin problems. And here your provide a link meant to make fun of Perry’s acne!
You’re a good writer with a great sense of humour but could you please try to be a little more consistent? You blow things out of proportions with the celebs you can’t stand. No offence!

  14. lrm says:

skin needs to primarily be addressed internally…check out chinese medicine for starters…
but detoxing and eating real food is a great start. i mean, real food. seriously. liver detox herbs help, along with eating more green veggies [read: kale, spinach, chard], and laying off sugar and wheat and cheese/dairy. Oh, and the dreaded coffee and alcohol duo, too.

People don’t want to hear this, and always make excuses for why that’s a whacko or extreme idea, or what’s wrong with their skin, why can’t it look like mine, etc…

hey, you gotta eat green vegetables with chlorophyll [oxygen and detoxes the blood], and you gotta take care of the liver.

Then, you look at allergies [food and environmental], excercise [make sure you’re getting enough], and external skin care products [use the right ones for you, maybe you’re allergic] and makeup. If your makeup is breaking you out, maybe you should try an organic one;sure, maybe it’s just a lack of breathing skin…but you never know.

    End of rant.

  15. Melanie says:

I used to say my cousins wife looks just like Katy Perry but with bad skin. Now I can just say she looks like Katy Perry. I’m just saying look on the bright side of things.

  16. irishserra says:

@IRM: Bravo! I understand totally. I am a raw vegan as well as a regular intermittent water faster. My skin has never been better and I’m in my 30’s!

  17. SabrinaD says:

YOU ARE GETTING AS BAD AS PEREZ HILTON! Its probably just a hormonal breakout. We all get a free pass on that! Leave the girl alone when it comes to something she can’t control.

  18. Missfit says:

I agree with what lots of people have said about how your skin is. Depending the severity of the situation. My skin is so sensitive to dye and lots of things and it breaks out in allergic reaction hives. Some people it could be by eating whatever…most people can’t help it. I have cut out sodas and excessive salt, I use lots of hypoallergenic things and yet still, it will just (poof) get to me every now and then. Not usually on my face, but elsewhere and it’s still very annoying and uncomfortable. I could have eczema, not sure. I’m not a big Perry fan, but who knows what her situation is with her skin. She doesn’t look (too too bad)…I’ve seen worse.

  19. Jeff says:

She’s such a nasty skank. No telling what STDs she has.

  20. di butler says:

Not news. She has had acne issues and talked about them every since she first came out. I feel for her.

  21. Anastasia says:

She has ONE zit on her neck? And this is a story?

    How?

  22. Confuzzle says:

Is she doing the drugs her repulsive bf is on? Could account for it.

  23. anonymous says:

Try Skinceuticals clarifying cleanser. It’s awesome.

  24. GrrrlGrace says:

The spot on her neck is a common place where I get zits. I workout a lot and if I don’t pull up my hair (the way she has in the pic) I get nasty, big pimples back there. Katy’s performing a whole bunch w/heavy makeup and hair down, etc.I’m sure she sweats like mad. So the zits on the back of the neck and face are her occupational hazard…among other things, I’m sure!

  25. poster 1 says:

@lrm Eating right to have good skin is utter bullshit! I never had a zit and had a straight diet of ramen noodles, pizza, tacos, etc for several years.

I know a fair amount of people who have followed a healthy diet routine complete with exercise for several years and have terrible skin and some who have followed a diet similar to mine with tons of issues.

  26. Kylie says:

She would be using stage make up which is heavy and oil based. So of course she would have a few pimples underneath it all. Leave her alone.

  27. lucy2 says:

Proactive works great for me, but usually the monthly hormonal changes still cause the occasional break out. Plus she does wear tons of makeup.

I’d be willing to bet most of the stars we see all make-up’d and airbrushed to perfection have little bumps and blemishes too.

  28. Marjalane says:

Not interested in being judgemental about her skin; But am willing to rip her to the enth degree on her ghastly singing.

  29. mollination says:

I can’t explain why this girl grates me so damn much, but she is seriously just a hair less annoying than Kesh@ in my opinion. I can’t f*cking stand her.

She strikes me as an opportunistic, hypocritical, entitled, talentless little wannabe.

  30. HotPockets says:

Her skin really isn’t bad. Normally, my skin is pretty clear, but when it is that time of the month or I’m stressed out, it will break out!! I wouldn’t ever say I have terrible skin, and nor would I say that about Katy. Real acne is medically treated and sometimes people resort to acutane just to make it better, even though it has hundreds of side effects. Acne is something most people can’t control, money or no money…let’s not make fun of it.

  31. Zoe says:

I think it’s disgusting that people hold celebrities to an inhuman standard, or that they are naive enough to think that celebrities look that different from the rest of us. They are human all the same and having lived in LA for years and working in the entertainment industry for eons, I can confirm they are all just as flawed as every one of you off-stage. She isn’t an alien for Pete’s sake. If the woman has bad skin, it means she’s a human being. Being a celebrity doesn’t magically take away her skin issues.

  32. dovesgate says:

My only question is, what kind of make up will give you that smooth flawless skin she sports on stage without giving her the crusties on the acne?

I found out after years of trying different cleansers that my face is actually very dry and thats why I have acne. Oddly enough, once I started using moisturizing formulas for things like my toner, my skin is clearing up. I still get some gnarly hormonal ones tho, which is why I’d love to know what she uses. Would be fab for dressing up and going out yanno?

  33. Jag says:

It’s in bad taste to make fun of someone’s breakouts. The main one on her neck looks like a bug bite, anyway. Maybe she got a rash from the bite, or maybe she’s just hormonal. Cut the girl some slack. (As a former pizza face who knows how badly it hurts when being made fun of for skin problems.)

  34. Clea says:

It’s kind of harsh to say she needs to take better care of her skin. Breakouts don’t mean she’s not taking care of her skin, it just means she’s oily and hormonal.

  35. Peter Leschko says:

I think Katy Perry is one of most beautiful girls in the World. Her skin normally doesn’t look like that, and by the way, she has a fantastic body. Greetings from Germany
