Here are the photos from last night’s big Conviction premiere. Some are claiming that Hilary is going to get another Oscar nomination for her portrayal as a working-class mom who puts herself through law school to represent her wrongfully imprisoned brother. I think the movie looks tough… and slightly boring. But Hilary is doing what she does best – straight dramas where she portrays someone working-class and tough, yet vulnerable. That’s what has won her two Best Actress Oscars (eye roll). Anyway, I don’t really care about that, I care about the fashion. I find this dress on Hilary to be rather uneventful – it shows off her great figure, but it isn’t really sexy or special or anything. What is amazingly awful is Hilary’s styling, though. Check out this ungodly combination of cheesy 80s makeup and an unflattering hairstyle:
Seriously, Hilary? You’re going to put metallic blue eyeliner/shadow on your bottom lid? And then you’re going to pull your hair back so tightly that all we can see is “horsey”?
Hilary’s costar Juliette Lewis looked really cute though – except for the shoes. She always gets one thing wrong.
I liked Minnie Driver’s look too! The dress is weird, but she kind of pulls it off.
And my lover Sam Rockwell. I just saw Iron Man 2 over the weekend, and Sam was one of the best parts of it. He’s so delicious as a weasel! He looks hot here. I would hit like a house on fire.

When does Hilary not look horsey?
I’m not a huge fan of the dress because the fabric looks very heavy, and the shine makes it look like it was made out of duct tape. Also the straps look too long. Hilary has a nice body, it would have been better to go with a thinner fabric to show off her assets.

My answer to the question is none of the above. I don’t even find that outfit worth mentioning. So I guess my answer would be “boring”.
But yeah, the make-up is bad!
Oh, and while I don’t love Minnie’s dress, I think it looks fantastic on her!

i actually love hilary’s makeup, but i love bright colorful makeup like that, generally speaking. i think it would look better with a softer hairstyle.

I love Sam Rockwell too!!! I just watched Iron Man yesterday and I LOVED the cute little dance he did at the expo! Have you watched The Moon? It is one of the best movies ever!!!
Oh and I think Juliette looks awesome!, Minnie looks great but she needs to work more!

I think Hilary’s mistake (or whoever did her makeup) was to ignore the old fashion rule that you don’t try to match your makeup to your outfit. Sure, stay in the general color family or in one that compliments what you are wearing, or go neutral. But no matchy matchy! That sparkling teal eyeliner is gawdawful.

I think (un)Swanky’s dress looks like Domo’s mouth, and her earrings look like she grabbed some of Grandma’s suncatchers off the kitchen window. As far as the eye makeup…just, ugh.

About Minnie. I think she can be a middling actress when she doesn’t get in the way of the part. She projects this elitist, aristo British snobbery that I find off-putting.

Love me some Sam Rockwell. He is the most delicious “weasel” ever. His little part kept me in my seat for all of IM2 (instead of leaving that craptastic movie). He does an even better little dance in “Charlie’s Angels” movie too. Hot!

Minnie Driver’s dress and shoes are awesome and she looks stunning, beautiful. Juliette Lewis looks great but the problem with Hilary Swank is that she just can’t do anything about her face, because it is what it is and it’s a horse; but I like the 80s makeup on her.

Why the eye roll after mentioning her two best actress Oscars? She absolutely nailed those roles and deserved to win both of them. She and Jodie Foster play those type of roles so well and both have two Oscars for them. She is a very talented and accomplished actress.

I see I am in the minoroity here… but I like all the dresses worn.
But a couple of the girls need to learn how to stand with ease, when having their picture took.
Now I realize it is annoying trying to stand in a flattering way in shoes that probably hurt your feet though.
So the girls all get a pass from me with the dresses and shoes.
If Hilary spent a couple thousand on a set of braces, it would make all the difference in the world. With luck it would minimize that too broad toothy grin.
Ohhh and frosty eye shadow is not a friend of any girl over the age of 21. Ever.

The dress is lovely and fits her perfectly. Her shoes are great but I hate the earrings and her makeup. And I think she’s a little overrated as an actress. She was fantastic in Boys don’t cry and absolutely deserved that Oscar but she was just OK in Million Dollar Baby and in everything else I’ve seen her in.
Also, love love love Sam Rockwell. Have you guys seen his movie Moon? It’s a brilliant film by Duncan Jones, David Bowie’s son. It’s practically an one man show and Sam is amazing in it.

It is so strange to me.. Hilary has a sick body. really great figure. But no matter how her handlers try and sex her up it just doesn’t work. There is just something missing. She is very talented and has won 2 Oscars.. but even that just doesn’t add a spark.. Maybe that is the missing piece.. She has talent but doesn’t have that celebrity factor. THAT thing that makes you want to see her. She may get nominated again for this film, but I don’t think it will do well at the BO. Regardless of Sam (who I like but who does not get enough recognition). People love him in his movies, but he does not have a lot of BO success on his own either. Sad but this film may bring critical recognition, but no BO bank.
I like the dress, it is just not doing anything for her. Her body as I said look great in it, but even taking that in consideration the dress on her is BLAH..
I still find it odd she has won some beautiful dresses, sexy, but she in them is soon forgotten.
AND Juliette.. nothing is working for her in that outfit. Dress looks bad, shoes don’t fit the dress..
