Brad Pitt’s handwriting shows he needs his space, says expert

OK! Magazine quotes a handwriting expert who analyzes Brad Pitt’s scrawled message on the bottle of Kiehl’s soap he’s endorsing for an environmental charity. The results are surprisingly controversial, considering that you don’t often hear people jumping to debatable conclusions when it comes to Pitt and the mother of his children. The “handwriting expert” calls Brad “this writer,” but considering the content of the message she was reviewing you can be sure she knew who she was referring to. She says that Pitt is someone who feels things deeply, but keeps his emotions hidden, and that he needs to have his space and spend time alone.

Writing expert Wendy Carlson analyzed Brad’s longhand note and signature from the bottle of the Kiehl’s “Aloe Vera” biodegradable liquid body cleanser he helped create. All the profits will be donated to 44 year-old Brad’s own environmental charity JPF Ecosystems. “This writer is a person of emotional reserve, not showing his feelings easily,” Denver-based Carlson says, “although his feelings may run deep.”

This father of six might also want to rethink expanding his family. “This writer enjoys spending time alone, enjoys his privacy, and probably prefers working alone,” Carlson says. “He needs his space!”

Handwriting analysis is inexact to say the least. There is no certification required to become a handwriting expert, and there are only four colleges in the world which provide graphology degrees and they’re located in Italy, Spain, and Argentina. It’s inadmissable in court, and handwriting evidence is only allowed when it’s forensic, which is when someone testifies if signatures or writing are roughly similar to other writing by a suspect. It is not admissible in court as a way to interpret the mental state or personality of a writer. [Details from Wikipedia]

So take this for what it is – creative interpretation of someone’s handwriting that may or may not be true. Maybe horoscopes are more accurate. Here’s Brad Pitt’s birth analysis. He’s a Sagittarius and is said to value personal integrity, freedom and faith. Maybe his handwriting analysis isn’t that far off. I usually don’t put too much faith in horoscopes, but a relative sent me an extended horoscope analysis for my son when he was born and so far a lot of it has proven to be close to the personality he’s grown into.

    πŸ™„ Money for old soap.

  2. Codzilla says:

Nice threads. Is this his “Don in Tropez” look?

  3. Carrie says:

Fairly safe assumption that anyone with six children under age seven would be feeling in need of some space.

  4. Kaiser says:

Aahhhh… are we going to get into another big fight? I might have to call it a day if we do…

Am I the only one who doubts if Brad’s block-lettering is his natural handwriting? πŸ˜•

  5. geronimo says:

Of course it’s not!! This is painstakingly written in caps so it’ll be legible on the front of a bottle. The same way anyone’s would be were they asked to provide something for print purposes. πŸ™„

  6. SeVen says:

I remember the boy i had a huge crush on in high school, he signed my yearbook in block letters.. maybe he was pretty emotional but didnt wanna show it… Bish please *smack*

  7. bros says:

good call to the always logical and observant kaiser and geronimo. of course it isnt his regular handwriting-anyone would have to amend their normal scrawl to make it legible to consumers. what a waste of time for OK magazine.

  8. xiaoecho says:

He looks shocking in that second photo – bloated – he’s fine in the first

  9. princess says:

While chewing gum you should always keep your mouth closed.

  10. Jenna says:

Needs his space? Guess he should have thought about it before getting Jolie knocked up, twice.

  11. Strawberry In Disguise says:

@Kaiser: I agree. It looks like he borrowed Pax’s ruler to help him keeping the writing straight. His real handwriting must be so illegible that Kiehl told him to write in block letters or eat a bar of soap. Must have been like that. πŸ˜€

  12. Tina says:

Brad and Angelina must be gold to blogs, if not, what is the purpose of this?

  13. cc says:

Uh, what? Analyzing writing for a story on them? Any one else as confused by this logic as I am? I have normally neat(ish) writing and I would have done the same ruler straight, have to fit in a two inch block type of writing.

  14. elisha says:

Sorry to break it to yah, it appears Brad does always write in all caps.

    http://justjared.buzznet.com/2006/06/10/brad-pitts-signature/

Looks pretty much the same to me, just written more slowly on the product.

Wait, unless that’s Angie’s writing? I guess it could be hers? It matches her pen strokes more in the signature. So I guess she wrote the note. That’s funny if BOTH of their handwriting reveals the same stuff. They both apparently write in all caps.

  15. geronimo says:

Caps are not the point. The point is that he would have been extra careful writing this litle endorsement because it needed to be completely legible for print purposes – ergo, his writing here would not have the normal ‘sway and motion’ and characteristics that his, or anyone else’s, natural handwriting would have. This is not about Pitt, this is about logic! 😯

@Elisha, just had a look, that’s AJ’s writing, not Pitt’s. The keystrokes are completely different – eg. look at the ‘E’s.

  16. Bystander says:

Need his space? I remember when he said in one of his interview that it’s a law with them (Brad & Angie) that when one is working the other is not so that they can bring the whole family to where the movie is being shoot. I don’t think that is a man who need his space.

  17. Lauri says:

How dumb; what a crock of you-know-what. If he wanted space, he never would have hooked up with AJ and had so many kids. And he said many times in interviews, long before he got with AJ, that he wanted a very large family…lots & lots of kids, so I really don’t think he was trapped into his current situation.

Why do people say such stupid things?

  18. Angie says:

Didn’t he study architecture in college? Most architects write like this.

  19. Syko says:

Actually, Elisha, if you look at that note in the link you gave, it’s signed by both Brad and Angelina – and it looks like two different pens were used, and the main body of the note looks to be made in the pen used by Angelina, as Brad’s signature is lighter and has thinner lines.

Pah. I bet Ms. Z wrote them both.

  20. duda says:

Ms. Z is now their publicist!!!

    πŸ™‚

whats the big deal with the printing? its easier to read then my dad’s, bf’s or my bro’s…ive heard that guys have issues with writing. lol

  21. Kaiser says:

@Syko, Duda – Yep. That’s a good conspiracy. Princess Z is in charge of EVERYTHING.

  22. Anna says:

Sheesh… there’s a reason graphological analyses aren’t allowed as evidence in courtrooms. At least in Germany (and a lot of European countries), I’m not sure about the USA.

Angie: no, he studied journalism and advertising before dropping out of college to pursue acting. Architecture is just a hobby of his that he is very involved in.

  23. GirlyGirl says:

I am a Sag too, and I believe that you can be a people person who needs their space. We Sag’s highly value freedom! I love my family and friends but sometimes I need space to be alone and just “recharge”. I also like to be able to do what I want and not be questioned about it. It doesn’t mean you’re not a family person. My husband is the same way, so we give each other “alone-time” and the freedom to do what we want…pair that with honesty and trust and it works out very well. πŸ˜‰

  24. Anne says:

The handwriting thing is silly. But, what I do want to comment on is anyone who flies around the world every week it seems is not an authority on environmentally friendly.

  25. pamela says:

Celebitchy, why do you put up EVERY tabloid story about the Jolie Pitts. I know they generate a lot of hits, but these stories are so out there, that only people who do not have the ability for critical thinking, and the ones who hate them believe this crap.

  26. noelle says:

The reason celebitchy posts such inane and brain dead stories about brad and angie is pure and simple—money. Any topic surrounding these two gets tons of hits which attracts advertisers to the site which in turn makes celebitchy lots of $$$$$$$$$$$……… 😐 obviously, I’m not above falling for it!

  27. Savannah says:

That is not an accurate sample of his handwriting. End of story. Also, Brad probably could stand to lose a few pounds. He looks a bit carby in the face, although I suppose it could just be a bit of middle age creeping in there.

  28. javagirl1 says:

    Bleck!! That’s a bad picture.

  29. Jeanne says:

I agree, yuck bad picture. Brad is reminding me of Kris Kristofferson. Enough with the hats too.

  30. brittany says:

He’s so old now! =( reminds me of Grandpa! =( I like to watch his old movies only cuz he’s just a old man to me now! It brakes my heart because to me he was the most beautiful thing on earth! My fav movie is interview with the vampire …. because of him! =) how can something so beautiful get so un beautiful !

  31. brittany says:

and funny she looks young still? he needs to do whatever his wife is doing!!

  32. Britta Mcfee says:

Thanks for any other excellent post. The place else could anybody get that type of information in such an ideal method of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.
