She looks like a young Jodie Foster! She may very well be just as talented, too. I suspect she’ll be one of the child actors that transitions to a good adult career. Very pretty!

UGGGH, the photo of this sweet, talented little girl next to the one of Pam Anderson looking seedy and disgusting is terrifying! Hope it’s not some horrible “before and after” premonition.

I really like this girl, she seems so down to earth compared to other girls her age, she reminds me of me! Didn’t try to look ten years older than I was!!

Also, I thought she had braces on for the longest time, shouldn’t her teeth be straighter?

Now that you mention it, shse is Ali Lohan’s age. I give a lot of credit to her parents. I hope she does not Miley out as she grows.

She is the best actress in the world. I knew she would grow up to be a really pretty teenager.

This girl is going to go places. Mark my words. She has such an amazing talent.

Not only pretty, her wide smill says simple, sincere and nice. Hope she won’t end up with stupid pictures, party excess or sex tapes like Miley, Hayden or many others.

Dina Lohan take note! THIS is what a well-adjusted child actor with caring parents who are not living vicariously through their child *AHEM-LIVING LOHAN* looks like! That woman should be investigated by child services, as should Lynn Spears.

And she looks lovely. I agree she will probably win an Oscar by the time she is 20. It is nice to see a parent/management who is enforcing age appropriate behavior and appearance in Hollywood.

I think its great that she seems so well adjusted and everything. But don’t you think you are going just a wee bit overboard in estimating her talent? I mean she hasn’t totally sucked in anything but, she isn’t super talented either. I think Abigail Breslin is much more talented. But you are right, Dakota Fanning does have the kind of mainstream appeal that will most likely win her an oscar. It just doesn’t necessarily mean that she is loaded with talent.

lol, Cmoody, I was thinking that and mentally composing a memo to McDormand, Swinton, Streep, Blanchett, Linney, Collette, Smith, Dench, etc: Hey ladies, you’re done, your crowns have been stolen by a 14 year old. 8O

Nina, fair to say she has the potential to be a very good actress with a solid future in films but no one, at 14, can be described as the best anything in the world.

  12. Anna says:

It’s nice to see her grow up so gently, unlike attention whores and capricious brats like Ali Lohan or the Hogan kids.

She is pretty indeed, but above all she is incredibly talented. She is already one of Hollywood’s best actresses at the moment and she is only going to get better. Any film with her in it is worth seeing.

Her sister Elle isn’t half bad either. Watch out for the Fanning sisters! :)

  13. Bodhi says:

Wow, she & Ali are the same age? I never would have guessed that.

Geronimo, have you seen the SNL skit where Dakota has her own talk show & Drew Barrymore comes out as Abigail Breslin? Its hilarious!

  14. Kaiser says:

She’s very pretty and talented – but her babyface looks younger than 14 years old. It’s just that Ali seriously looks 40 – that’s skewing everyone’s perceptions.

  15. Dingles says:

This girl is made of win. While the Ali Lohans and Jamie Lynns of the world get knocked up and strung out on drugs, all the while whining about how no one takes them seriously, Dakota’s out working with the best of the best and on her way to winning an Oscar.

Amazing what a difference good parents can make.

this is what a 14 year old girl should look like, not like an exhausted, overly tanned, 40 year old long island housewife who smokes a pack a day.

Dakota obviously has parents that are there to raise her properly. Their goal is not to become famous along with her and be her BFF.

She made a movie with Tom Cruise and walked away unscathered. Proof that this beauty will go far in Hollywood and will be able to endure anything that will be thrown at her.

    She is a cutie!

I hope Hollywood doesn’t bite up, chew, and spit out this this young girl and screw her up like the Brittney’s, Lindsey’s, Tara’s and Paris’s of the world

  24. RAN says:

She’s growing up to be quite the beautiful young woman – away from the adorable little girl she was.

I’m impressed, I always thought she seemed to stay the same age or something because she didn’t seem to change, but this photo shows how grown up she’s become.

And for those of you mentioning only her potential and seeing her as having ‘limited talent at such a young’ age… have you SEEN I am Sam? Phenomenal movie, and a phenomenal part. She was even good in Uptown Girls w/Brittany Murphy (stupid movie, but cute). I didn’t see War of the Worlds, but she won awards for that role as well.

She’s well above “potential” and on her way to something special, if she stays sane.

Oh she looks lovely. I really hope she doesn’t go down the same negative path (i.e., teen pregnancy, drugs, alcohol, rehab, etc.) so many young women are and have.

RAN-I loved I Am Sam! She was too cute in that movie and held her own with some pretty brilliant actors/actresses. I always knew she’d go on to bigger and better things.
