This Enquirer story is utterly sketchy and doubtful, but I still found it interesting because it involved a man that I adore, and who rarely (if ever) gets any tabloid coverage. Last year, as Dexter was filming its fifth season, married costars Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall began having problems. Some said it was that Jennifer wanted babies and Michael didn’t. Some said it was because Michael might have been boning Julia Stiles, who was guest-starring that season. But I have never heard this theory – that Jennifer Carpenter might have boning the other guest-star last year, Jonny Lee Miller.
Miller is Angelina Jolie’s first husband (and first ex-husband). They remained close friends for years after their split, and Jonny ended up remarrying a nice girl named Michele Hicks, whom he had met in a bar. Jonny and Michele have a son together, Buster. I’ve always thought they seemed like a solid couple, a solid family. But… maybe? Jennifer Carpenter? The Enquirer story makes it sound like their torrid affair consisted of jogging and Jonny listening to Jennifer complain about Michael. The Enquirer also makes this relationship sound on-going, but Jonny isn’t on this season of Dexter, so it’s not like he’s even seen Jennifer in a while, I’m thinking:
Insiders say that Jennifer Carpenter has been spending a lot of time with Jonny Lee Miller ever since her marriage to Michael C. Hall ended last year.
“Jennifer was an emotional wreck after her split from Michael, and Jonny has been her support system,” an insider told The Enquirer.
When Jonny guest-starred on Dexter during season 5, he and Jennifer became good friends and joggling partners. When Jennifer and Michael split, Jonny was a shoulder to cry on.
“Recently, Jonny has been in the habit of regularly phoning and texting Jennifer and spending more time with her,” added the insider. “Jonny’s wife Michele was OK with the friendship for a while, but pals think lately she worries that they’ve become too close. Michele wants him to pay more attention to her and less to Jennifer.”
Jonny promised he’d correct the situation because he deeply loves his wife, the insider added. Michael C. Hall also wondered how appropriate it was for a married man to be in such a close relationship with his co-star ex Jennifer.
“Jonny went on the defensive, assuring Michael there was nothing to worry about,” explained the insider. “The two are on good terms now, but I think there were a lot of bad feelings at first.”

The only thing that sounds true is that they jogged together. Both of them are runners – Jonny does marathons and Jennifer is such a big runner, the writers even included into the “Deb” character.
Now, I kind of wondered about Jonny when he was working with Sienna Miller on Broadway last year, but I don’t think anything happened there (fingers crossed). Could he be cheating on Michele? I hope not. (That being said, I wouldn’t blame Jennifer for trying to hit it – Jonny is a hot piece.)

this story sprung up after last week’s us weekly ran a picture of Jennifer and Jonny running together. One picture of 2 people jogging together does not equal an affair in my mind. So unless there is more evidence I think this story is bs and I will believe Jonny is faithful to his wife

I get why people would find her character annoying, but again,amoral, am I missing something?I admit I am a season behind, but the worst thing I’ve seen her do is have crappy taste in men for a couple of seasons, well I guess she did cheat on her hot b.f. but Agent Lundy was the love of her life. And he got murdered in front of her, chick can’t catch a break as far as I can see. The evidence for her being cheated on in real life is a heck of a lot more convincing than this b.s. story.
gosh Jennifer looks really good. I think she just gained weight. Looks much better. On some of those episodes of Dexter she looked terrible.

@LeeLo New boobs? I’m pretty sure what she’s wearing is actually a push up bra or one of those cutlets that almost all actresses wear. In other pictures after the emmys they seemed to have disappeared. As a small chested girl myself I can attest to the wonderful technology that creates the illusion of having c-cups.
I’ll never understand the irrational hate for her character. She’s practically the only character I’m excited to watch besides Dexter. She just doesn’t “run around in a flannel shirt and swear all the time”, she’s one of the more realistic characters on television with actual depth who doesn’t look like she can be on the cover of Maxim magazine.
I love them both (even though season 5 sucked so much) but I doubt this is true. JLM seems very loyal and JC seems too classy for that crap. I grew up in the same neighborhood as her family in Louisville, KY and they’re lovely people.

I’m surprised at some of the comments on her chest here. You people do realize that there are products out there that can enhance the size of a woman’s chest that don’t involve surgery, right?
And as for JC being friends with January Jones: What difference does that make in JC’s moral judgment if January was involved with a married man? A true friend stands by their side regardless of any dumb thing they do. I’ve had friends that were “the other woman” in their relationships and does it piss me off when they do it? Yes, of course. But I wouldn’t end a friendship based on that.
@Darcy: No, you’re not missing anything. Deb’s a great character. Most of the complaints about her are mostly her swearing and her looks. I’ll bet you most fans and critics like her character now more than previous seasons.
As for the story: BULLCRAP! They both seem like good people. Jonny seems sweet and loyal and I’ve never heard a bad thing about Jen (except for some of the b!tches on boards like this). And since she and Michael have been separated since last year, why is it just being reported now?!!
JLM is so likeable. As far this “cheating” rumor, someone obviously needed filler and had a pic of 2 friends jogging together. JLM doesn’t do the “HW” thing so it seems so unfair for tabloids to harrass him. There are some many out there who practically beg for tabloid coverage so that should use them as “filler”.

There was a blind item not too long ago about a couple who divorced recently. It stated that the one who was blamed for cheating was not really the cheater, his wife was and he was being very stoic in taking the blame. They were a guess and now I totally believe it!
@SolitaryAngel Umm, please explain to me how the Deb character is “amoral”?? There are several things I can think of that people could complain about regarding Deb, but being “amoral” is certainly NOT one of them.
@silas I’ll never understand the irrational levels of hate either. I totally get that she was annoying in season 1, and I wasn’t a huge fan of her in S2 either, but from S3 onwards I have really liked her; she is hilarious and and the character has grown by leaps and bounds too. And for those of you whose main complaint about her is the swearing, you need to take that huge stick out of your asses and please never be friends with me … it’ll be best for both of us.
As for whether JC is a shady skank in REAL life or whether JLM (loved him since he played Sickboy too) is a cheating bastard, I have no idea. I hope not. I’ve heard soo many versions and permutations of this MCH and JC break-up story that it’s extremely hard to know WHAT to believe (if any of it).

Anyway, how can you all just assume that this is not true just because someone “seems” loyal? That’s the beauty of cheating and not getting caught….and then pity on the ones that do. Jonny could have moments of disloyalty just as much as anyone else, it all depends on the characters and if anyone lets on to the media. Some are lucky, some aren’t. I like Jonny Lee, so I’m not dissing him, I’m just saying, don’t be deluded just because you don’t have a two-page spread accounting the affair.

HAHAH YES THANK you!! Soooo true … I mean let’s be honest, if any of us who read and comment on these websites were perfect looking, we’d be busy modeling on a runway in Paris or NYC rather than sitting on our fat asses at our computers, talking about how ugly and homely these various celebs are!!

Wow. What a difference 10 months makes. Back in December 2010, everyone was ready to believe Lainey’s irresponsible gossip that Michael C. Hall and Julia Stiles had an affair while filming season 5 of “Dexter,” which caused the break up of his marriage.
The fact that Lainey published her tidbit three days before Jennifer Carpenter filed her petition for divorce, citing August 9, 2010 as the official separation date, didn’t matter. People just ran with it because: 1) Michael C. Hall seemed to have a thing for his co-stars 2) Michael C. Hall cheated on his first wife with Jennifer Carpenter and 3) They just plain hated Julia Stiles for being ‘ugly’ and for ruining season 5 of “Dexter.” No one (including a lot of posters here at Celebitchy) seemed very interested in the truth.
The fact is that Michael C. Hall and his first wife Amy Spanger weren’t co-stars when they met. They met when they both auditioned for the musical “Rent” in 2002. They were already married when they co-stared in the Broadway production of “Chicago.”
Michael C. Hall and Amy Spanger started divorce proceeding in 2006, before the first episode of “Dexter” aired. He didn’t cheat on her with Jennifer Carpenter.

People are giving Michael C. Hall too much ‘babe’ credit. The man was still recovering from cancer treatments when season 5 of “Dexter” started filming (he had the last treatment on April 30, 2010). He built up his strength over the summer of 2010 … heck, he didn’t even have all of his hair back before they started filming. Yet people (still) believe that the first thing he did was jump on Julia Stiles?
Sorry for the rant. I just still can’t believe how quick people were to drink Lainey’s kool-aid. When people called her out at her site for the inconsistencies–like the best proof she had of an affair was some anonymous source saying that Michael looked at Julia’s butt on set, or the fact that Jennifer and Michael had been separated since August 9th–she replied “We all know it happened” and that Michael probably paid Jennifer to say they had separated in August.

Ohhhh! Michele Hicks, the model. She was pretty great in the movie Twin Falls, Idaho, too. I had a bit of a crush on her AND Jonny Lee Miller in the 90s. I love that they’ve ended up together.
Also? I’m really sad about how Desmond Harrington (shown in the background of the first photo) looks these days. He was so gorgeous circa Wrong Turn. It pains me to watch him on Dexter now.
I’ve been a JLM fan for a few years and have not only seen all of his movies and tv programs, but I know about as much of him as he allows the public to know.
The man evidently is of a decent nature and intelligent. I see Jonny as a fine actor and decent man who like any other normal guy can be tempted. But I doubt he ever strayed from Michele Hicks.
The lovely Michele is not only the mother of his child but a beautiful and smart woman. She still models and this November she was featured in a large photo spread in an Italian fashion magazine. As an actress she was excellent in the last season of The Shield.
