Mischa Barton has broken up with her boyfriend of 4 months, musician Luke Pritchard, lead singer of the Kooks. While Mischa says there is ‘no bitterness’ in the break up, she did feel the need to blog about it.
I’m sure you guys are all going to hear about it soon enough so I just wanted to tell you what is real first — I broke up with Luke when I got to London. Things just didn’t feel quite right. There was no cheating or anything terrible, the bad just started to outweigh the good and a long distance relationship
is never an easy thing to do.I hope that the press will show some respect in the near future as we both find it very difficult to deal with a lot of attention or speculation from the media. I think Luke is a great guy, but the type better suited as a friend. We have a surprising amount of mutual friends in England and I don’t regret our time together, I just couldn’t keep it going.
There is no bitterness between us…that I know of (sorry, I had to joke!). If there ever is a case of two people staying friends I’m sure it will be the case with us — our personalities are very good for that.

If only Mischa had blogged about the relationship, we might have been more aware of it and thus more concerned about its demise. That, or actually done some kind of work that kept us vaguely interested in her beyond commenting on her atrocious fashion sense.
If you are confused by Mischa and her career, you aren’t alone. She said that her parents also have no idea what she does for a living:
She says, “My mom and dad are still a bit confused and cautious about what I do.
“My dad is a stockbroker who studied law and economics and his dad was a politician. But I know him and my mom are still very proud of me.”
I understand their confusion, most 23 year old women like fashion and partying, but they don’t get paid for it. Mischa does seem to have quite a few acting projects coming up, but clearly isn’t headed into the A-list anytime soon. She is also rumored to be considering a role in the new Melrose Place TV series. Between her and Ashley Simpson there’s no way it could fail.

mischa barton has plenty of fans actually,
through the oc, her childhood roles, and her amazingly fierce modelling.
she also does many indi films, enjoys fashion events and volunteering for charities.
before you’re so ignorant, maybe you should educate yourselves.

Honestly people, she does have fans. Just because you’re not one of them, that does not mean that they don’t exist. Also, we live in America so all of you have the right of speach, but if all you’re going to do is criticize in a rude manner, then please keep your words to yourself. All of you have bad fashion days. The only reason the rest of the world doesn’t get to see pictures of it every day or read about it on the internet is because you don’t have to live with the media breathing down your throats 24/7 which is something that I am pretty sure many people in general could not deal with. If you look at other pictures or her chain of hand bags, you would see that she does a sense of fashion. So, I suggest we all realize that celebrities are just people like us and stop being so hard on them because honestly, just face the fact that you probably would not be able to deal with many of the things they do on a daily basis.
