Susan Boyle says she was joking about never being kissed

I know some people are suffering from Susan Boyle fatigue, but I have to admit I’m still a fan. I’m always a champion of the underdog, and I find her plucky spirit and perseverance to be very inspiring. During her “Brittan’s Got Talent” audition, Boyle said she’s, “never been married, never been kissed. Ooh shame!” Now she admits it was just a joke, noting that she has a “wicked” sense of humor.

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has captured the hearts of millions, but did she really go 48 years without a kiss? She’s coming clean only to “Extra’s” Terri Seymour, admitting that she fibbed the truth about her romantic past. “It was meant as a joke…I’ve got a wicked sense of humor, you know!” she exclaimed.

The Scottish songbird has been making headlines since she amazed the world with her extraordinary voice, but what rumor has surprised her the most? Boyle tells Seymour, “The one where I’m willing to take my clothes off for a million dollars…Really crazy!”

Although passing on THAT offer, she reveals others saying, “The most exciting offer so far has been a trip to Hollywood to make a film…There is talk about it…It’s only rumors right now.” Boyle also tells Seymour that she might even appear on Oprah. “It’s in the pipeline, but I don’t want to get into it here.” But don’t expect to see her on Dancing with the Stars. She declares, “I’ve got two left feet so I don’t know…[I] have to learn to dance first!”

Boyle sends Simon Cowell a personal message saying, “Thank you for giving me a chance, Mr Cowell and I’ll do my best.” She adds, “He’s a good judge and a very honest person.”

PLUS – No makeover for Boyle! She declares, “I wouldn’t like to change anything. I’m perfect the way I am.” Another person who agrees is rocker Jon Bon Jovi! At last night’s Food Bank for New York City’s Can-Do Awards dinner, he told “Extra” he hopes she wins the competition saying, “God bless her. After pursuing the dream and never giving up, good for her. I hope she knocks this one out of the park!” Boyle reaction to the kind words? She blushes and says, “I think he’s fantastic!”

I know it’s totally cheeseball, but everyone rooting for Susan makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I can’t help it. I’m glad she’s been kissed, but not really surprised. I also doubt the virgin thing is true. Clichéd as it is, I believe there’s someone for everyone. And you can tell Susan has an awesome personality; I would think she’s had interest from some gentlemen over the years.

I also doubt her description of herself as living alone with her cat – which I think was meant to imply she’s the stereotype of someone who’s lonely (at least when coupled with the never been kissed thing) – is accurate. She just seems so funny and down to earth. I’d imagine she has plenty of friends. If she didn’t before, she sure does now. Along with gentlemen callers, according to some internet rumors.

You are all being played by Simon Cowell.

  2. Ling says:

Ha! Vibius! So true! This is classic Cowell. The title of Paul Pott’s album, “one chance”? fantastic.

Obviously I wish Susan Boyle all the success she gets.

  3. Kevin says:

It wouldn’t be too hard to beleive she never assumed the pucker position,,,but good for her. She could easily pass for Peter Boyle,,,or Benny Hill for that matter. Girl can totally sing,,,I’m just saying.

Aww- you can tell she could have been a rather fetching young woman. I’m sure she caught at least one lad’s eye in her day.

“You are all being played by Simon Cowell.”

    I don’t think so.
    But soon we will be….

“I believe there’s someone for everyone.”

I don’t know. There probably is someone for everyone, but whether you actually meet that person and can get together, that seems more complicated. I’ve known plenty of great women (and men) who are funny, intelligent, kind, etc., and yet were/are always single and not always by choice. (And conversely, I know a couple of giant pains in ass who can’t walk out the door without finding a new girl/boyfriend.) I don’t automatically give that much weight to someone being alone. Some people choose to be single, and a few people might deserve to be alone–but for a lot of people, it seems like a mystery why they haven’t found someone.

    maybe she’s gay.

  8. KateNonymous says:

It’s also not like she’s some kind of grotesque monster. She’s a perfectly ordinary looking woman.

  9. Courtney H says:

I still love her… not a bit tired of her.

And say what you want about her looks, but she definitely knows how to dress.

  10. Trillion says:

Maybe she just doesn’t have the gigantic obsession with finding a partner that seems to eclipse every other concern on the planet.
(including me, I’ll admit it. What’s not to love about love? Even it’s attendant pain is delicious.) Some people just don’t care to participate and I respect that.
Perhaps she’d just as soon curl up with some music, a glass of wine, a cat, and a novel.

She is reading News of the world, LOL !!!

  12. Sarah says:

Don’t be too sure about the virgin thing. I know more ppl over 30 who never had that special someone in their lives. I don’t really get it how it happens but I do know more ppl than I’ve ever expected to know… mostly hetero men btw…

  13. jennifer says:

KateNonymous – THANK YOU! HAHA. It’s not like she’s an ogre!!! I wouldn’t look twice @ her on the street all “OMG that poor woman…” LOL She looks totally normal, just not “Hollywood”. And more power to her 😉

    Its “Britain” not Brittan

I kind of do believe the never been kissed/virgin thing. She might be a shy woman and men don’t always pursue a shy woman who’s not a great beauty. I see her as being the jovial buddy/church volunteer who keeps her private feelings to herself. Self-sufficient, but a bit lonely all the same. Just look at her song pick on Idol. She might have denied her never been kissed claim out of embarrassment. After all, on the show she did say, “OOOOOh, shame.” Naturally, I’ll buy her CD when it comes out. Like everyone else, I applaud this formerly unheralded treasure.

  16. Jobie says:

I love her…I don’t know what more I can say. I always smile when I see/read about her.
