Dr. Fauci pushed back against Nicki Minaj’s vaccine disinformation

US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions hearing “An Update from Federal Officials on Efforts to Combat COVID-19

The good news for Nicki Minaj is that she’s one of the stories of the week, and national and international political figures and scientists are saying the name “Nicki Minaj.” The bad news is that Minaj is an international story because of her crazy anti-vaccine idiocy throughout the whole f–king week. Nicki decided to inform her Barbz (and the world) that she wasn’t attending the Met Gala because the gala had a vaccine requirement and she’s unvaccinated. She also revealed that she tested positive for Covid before the VMAs and that’s why she skipped that Sunday night event. But the icing on the cake was when Nicki tweeted this:

So we have Minaj’s cousin’s friend in Trinidad with vaccine-induced swoleballs and now everyone is talking about this very serious condition!! People like… Boris Johnson and Dr. Anthony Fauci. I cannot.

Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, pushed back against a coronavirus vaccine conspiracy theory shared by Nicki Minaj — insisting there is no evidence that it causes infertility after the pop star tweeted about her cousin’s hesitancy to get vaccinated and sparked a social media controversy.

Fauci, in response to a question Tuesday from CNN’s Jake Tapper about Minaj’s claim, said “the answer to that, Jake, is a resounding no.” “There’s no evidence that it happens, nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen. So the answer to your question is no.” Other medical experts have long said that claims about infertility linked to vaccinations are unsubstantiated.

The Minaj saga extended all the way to the United Kingdom, forcing Prime Minister Boris Johnson to say he is “not as familiar with the works of Nicki Minaj as I probably should be” and to urge people to get immunized against the coronavirus, highlighting the ongoing struggles against coronavirus misinformation. British Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty called Minaj’s claim a “myth” and said that those spreading untruths about coronavirus vaccines “should be ashamed.”

Fauci said: “She should be thinking twice about propagating information that really has no basis except a one-off antidote, and that’s not what science is all about.”

[From The Washington Post]

It’s all fun and games until Dr. Fauci tells off Nicki Minaj for spreading Covid disinformation to millions of Barbz. I’m a little bit surprised that Fauci – and other public health experts – didn’t use Minaj’s disinformation to highlight the medical studies which have shown that actually getting Covid does affect men and their bajingos. There’s medical evidence to suggest that Covid – especially long-term Covid – could really lead to impotence (temporarily at least). The problem is not vaccine-induced swoleballs – the problem is what happens to your junk when you get a bad case of Covid and survive. Get vaccinated to save your junk, men.

I just have to say that this story has introduced me to the term swoleballs, and it makes me giggle every time!

  2. Grant says:

Thank you for reminding me that Nicki Minaj is trash.

  3. LoonyTunes says:

*whispers to Dr. Fauci* “You in danger, boy…”

  4. Kate says:

I feel like “cousin’s friend” got an STD and that’s why his fiance called off the wedding, but to cover up he’s just telling everyone it’s the vaccine’s fault

  5. Maria says:

There was a group of her followers protesting outside the CDC headquarters as a result. Unbelievable.

  6. MY3CENTS says:

Let’s hope her rapist husband and brother get long term Covid and impotence, the world would be better off without more of their DNA in it.

  7. Snuffles says:

I find this story so infuriating on so many levels. It’s one thing to say you have questions and concerns. But to turn around to use a 3rd party anecdote (if that’s even true at all) as one of the reasons you’re concerned, it’s not someone trying to due their due diligence before making an informed medical decision.

Then she’s popping off endlessly about how she’s being misrepresented when it’s right there one your feed exactly what you said.

She’s got a huge platform and millions of followers who blindly follow what she says. This could have been an opportunity for her to use it to talk to a well known medical professional to discuss her concerns and not spread misinformation based on gossip.

  8. psl says:

The fact that he even had to address this, makes me livid.

    • Agirlandherdog says:

^ this. I’d like to say it’s a new low for Dr. Fauci to address Nicki’s cousin’s friend’s swollen balls… but is it really a new low?? I see so many idiotic effing posts on social media, I have zero hope for America.

  9. Larisa says:

Did Fauci really say “one-off antidote”, rather than “one-off anecdote”, or is that a poor transcription?

  10. Eurydice says:

I read the study about Covid and ED a couple of months ago – the title was “Mask up to Keep it Up.” I would have thought it would make men forget about their “personal autonomy and identity” and rush to Walgreen’s for masks and vaccines.

    • SarahCS says:

That is an outstanding title and yes, we need to be talking about this more!

      • BothSidesNow says:

Yes, they should considering it as some men use only that “head” to think and act with.
The trouble and additional costs associated with NM post should be filed as a crime and she should be charged for creating a massive and costly investigation. NM should have to reimburse T & T, who happen to have the most beautiful waters surround them.

The fact that Dr. Fauci had to address her ridiculous post is such a waste of his precious time, all because she is anti-vax and wants to spread more fear to keep people from getting the vaccination.
I share everyone’s opinion that hopefully her brother and husband are fallen ill with the coronavirus but may their impotent side effect become permanent.

  11. Jillian says:

Well, Nicki has been quite successful in distracting from her rapist husband’s legal woes. Is this POS man worth tanking your career for, Nicki? We’re all clear now on how you’re just as trash as him, was that the point?

  12. Chaine says:

They’re not using it as an opportunity because hetero men are too squeamish to talk seriously and meaningfully about anyone else’s male reproductive organs or male sexual performance.

  13. K says:

Trying to get past that verbal construct of her cousins ballz being the icing on the cake. Poor Fauci…he is just trying to state facts and care for his fellow humans and idiots keep trying to come for him

    • nina says:

Fauci’s my hero. His best one is telling Rand Paul during the Congressional Hearings that he wants to put it on record that Rand Paul knows nothing. Speaking truth to power.

  14. Sue M says:

Why is anyone paying attention to anything Minaj says about vaccines. This woman married a man who was convicted both of being a murderer and a child rapist. Together they have conducted a years long campaign of harassment against the child rape victim. Clearly, she does not have good judgement and may actually be fundamentally stupid.

  15. Jan says:

The Health Minister of Trinidad and Tobago had to make a statement, saying no one in Trinidad have swollen balls from the covid vaccine, that Nicki was lying and he don’t have time for this nonsense, he turned to the Dr. next to him, who confirmed it was BS.
They’re pissed because Trinidadians are hesitant to get the vaccine.
Heard her husband is getting ready to take a plea deal, she may also be charged with intimidating a witness.

  16. Yonati says:

    No pix, didn’t happen, Nikki.

  17. Midnight@theOasis says:

It gets worse. There were idiots protesting at the CDC in Atlanta in support of Nicki’s dumbness:

  18. K says:

PS…obsessed with Swoleballz thanks Kaiser. Can someone make this a groom’s cake please!! Granted no one will eat it but come on

    • nina says:

Nicky’s cousin’s friend probably played around on his fiance, caught an STD and now wants to blame the vaccine. He should just fess up and admit he dipped in another well, she already left him.

  19. Cheyanne says:

I just hung up (the phone) on my best friend. She wont get the vaccine because she “found a website” that supposedly has people talking about health problems from the vaccine. I told her to go visit a hospital and ask them who is there. I told her the internet is trash. This! To a woman who hates facebook. Her stupid boyfriend is a conspiracy dude, too. Because he is so insecure about being uneducated. Welcome to my 99th nervous breakdown.

  20. Jaded says:

There is a actual infection that causes inflammation and swelling of the ballz called orchitis:

“Bacteria that cause sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis, can cause orchitis in sexually active men, usually those ages 19 to 35. You may be at risk if you have many sexual partners, if you’re involved in high-risk sexual behaviors such as unprotected sex, if your partner has had an STD, or if you have a history of STDs.”

There Nicki, fixed it you lying sack of sh*t.

  21. myjobistoprincess says:

Nicki Minaj is proving her lack of education. She is a rapper and entertainer – not a scientist and it shows. lol I keep giggling… …swollen balls. lol I say we take a wild animal with rabies, have it bite an antivaxxer who didnt get the rabies shot and a normal sane/science believer human, and see if vaccines really work.

  22. jferber says:

Of course she weaponized her Barbz. After marrying a murderer/rapist, what else would you expect?
