Alyson Hannigan has a baby girl

Alyson Hannigan, 35, and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, 42, welcomed their first child last week in LA. Their daughter Satyana Denisof was born on Alyson’s birthday, March 24:

It’s a girl – and she shares her birthday with her mom!

How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, who kept the gender of their baby a secret during pregnancy, have welcomed a daughter, her rep tells PEOPLE.

The girl is named Satyana Denisof and was born March 24 in Los Angeles, which also happens to be Hannigan’s birthday. “They’re very excited, and mom and baby are doing great,” says the rep…

This is the first child for Hannigan and Denisof, 42, who met on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer during the 1999-2000 season and were married at the Two Bunch Palms resort near Palm Springs, Calif., in 2003.

That’s cute that Alyson had a baby on her birthday! If you’re going to have a child within a week or two of another birthday in your family, it may as well be the same day so that you can have one big party. My husband’s birthday is very close to Christmas and I usually have a little guilt like I’m not making it special for him because I’m preoccupied with the holiday. I would love to have a big combined party for birthdays like that.

Satyana is a unique name that I haven’t heard before, but it’s also pretty and non-stigmatizing, unlike many other celebrity baby names. Congratulations to Alyson and Alexis and we’re looking forward to seeing little Satyana out and about.

Another ‘American Pie’ movie – in theaters?

americanpiemovies
Now that Tara Reid is finally in rehab, the last thing on most of our minds is another American Pie movie.  After the first three films, which followed the group of friends from senior year of high school all the way through Jim and Michelle’s wedding, there was a series of three direct-to-DVD movies, including that work of cinematic glory, “American Pie: Band Camp.”  But it seems that the producers at Universal think that it would be a great idea to release a new film in theaters which follows the original trilogy.

Universal has decided to abandon those direct-to-video “American Pie” spin-off films in favour of making a third sequel to the original film – one that might possibly pick up on the whereabouts of now-married Jim and Michelle (Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan). Like the other three, it’ll be released theatrically.

The success of the direct-to-video spin-off films (“American Pie : Band Camp”, “American Pie : Naked Mile” and “American Pie : Beta House” – all featuring Eugene Levy) has Uni thinking it might be time to return the series to its roots – alas, it’s back to Jim, Michelle, Finch, Stifler (though personally I doubt Seann William Scott will return) and whoever else can be roped back into the fruity follow-up.

[from Moviehole]

“Fruity followup” seems about right.  The charm of the original movies was that it was about high schoolers exploring, however crudely, their sexuality.  But now with Jim and Michelle (of the flute story fame) married, one can only imagine that the jokes will center around pregnancy and/or a failing marriage, both of which are either not funny or have been explored by every other comedy.

What will be interesting is to see who agrees to appear in the film.  It seems like anyone in the original cast (except Eugene Levy, who has a degree in these types of films) would be committing career suicide by signing on.  It’s better to be off the Hollywood map than be featured in American Pie 4: Twins! – although Tara Reid might see otherwise.

If this film does end up getting made it is sure to feature, once again, Eugene Levy.  And as much as I hate to admit it, the guy gets props for sticking to a character.  This will be the seventh film in which he’s played Mr. Levenstein and you’ve got to hand it to him – he plays “awkward dad” really well.

“Buffy” alum Alyson Hannigan pregnant with her first child

Sure, she’s moved on to a new show, “How I Met Your Mother,” but to me she’ll always be Willow from “Buffy.” Redheaded-turned-brunette comic actress Alyson Hannigan, who rose to fame in the “American Pie” movies as that nerdy but naughty girl from band camp, is expecting her first child with husband Alexis Denisof. No word on whether Alyson’s pregnancy will be written into the sitcom.

Alyson Hannigan’s husband has a little less than nine months to perfect his own How I Met Your Mother story.

The sitcom star and her hubby of five years, actor Alexis Denisof, are expecting their first child together, Hannigan’s rep, Megan Moss, told People.

The baby, whose gender has not been revealed, is due this spring.

Hannigan’s CBS show is currently in production, though it’s unclear if her pregnancy will be written into the storyline.

The 34-year-old Hannigan and the 42-year-old Denisof met when the actor joined the cast of the actress’ last cult gig, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, back in 1999.

Congrats to Alyson – I am sure she will be just as adorable with a belly bump. I do wonder how the pregnancy will fit the concept of the show, since the plot is told in reverse – but if the writers can find a way to make Britney Spears seem believable as a telephone receptionist, I’m sure they can come up with something.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is OK with people talking about her boobs

The stars of CBS television were on hand to promote the network at the Stars Party held at the Wandsworth Theatre in Westwood, California yesterday. Hewitt wore a cute black strapless dress with a wide skirt and flats.

Hewitt said in a recent interview that working on “Ghost Whisperer” helped change her perspective on the supernatural. She said she didn’t believe in ghosts before she worked on the series as a medium, but now she’s open to the idea.

Hewitt says the show helps people realize that life is not forever and that you should spend time with people you love when you have the chance:

“Go and say your ‘I love yous’ and your ‘I’m sorrys’ and spend time with the people you love and really make it count because life is a fleeting thing.”

The show has also changed Hewitt’s perception about death. Although she used to be afraid to broach the subject, Hewitt now tries to see it in a positive light.

“Death is not a horrible thing. It’s a painful thing for those who are left behind. But for the person who leaves, it’s like, I was here and I did something tremendous and great and people are going to remember me for it, whether it’s a million people or just five. And when you look at it that way, it becomes a positive thing.”

She also didn’t believe in ghosts before, and hasn’t seen one either.

However, after spending one season playing Melinda, Hewitt has changed her mind. Well, sort of.

“I think I have to believe in it a little in order to play Melinda every day,” she stressed. “You know, there probably are these energies, spirits and ghosts and, maybe, we should have a little more appreciation for them.”

[From The Star, Malaysian paper]

She also said that people expect her to be like her character Melinda and help them contact the dead in their time of grief:

“People want me to come to funerals and just sit there and help them out. And it’s a very odd thing because I’m not really sure what I would do for them.”

She said she doesn’t mind people paying attention to her boobs and that “there’s a hundred other body parts that I feel completely insecure about and would rather no one ever talked about. So if they focus on breasts, it’s fine with me.”

Hewitt attended the event with her boyfriend of over a year, Scottish actor Ross McCall. They seem really happy together and I bet they get engaged soon.

Thanks to WENN for these pictures. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Alyson Hannigan, and Charlie Sheen are pictured.
