We first heard about Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner hooking up in February of 2010. They got matching lighting bolt tattoos for each other a few months later, we heard they were gunning for a reality show (that thankfully went nowhere) and then we even heard they were engaged last year. Well all that is over now, as Brody and Avril have split.

After dating for almost two years, Life & Style can exclusively reveal that the pop singer and reality star have called it quits.

“They decided to end their relationship,” a source tells Life & Style. “It wasn’t working out, and they wanted to go their separate ways.”

According to friends, the main reason is that they didn’t see eye to eye when it came to marriage.

“She wanted to settle down, but he wasn’t exactly ready,” another source tells Life & Style. “They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time.”

“It put a strain on their relationship,” the source adds.

Avril, 27, began dating Brody, 28, just months after she split from her then-husband, Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley, 31. The two were married on July 15, 2006, but Avril filed for divorce three years later. It was finalized on November 16, 2010.

Before dating Avril, Brody was linked to model Jayde Nicole.

These two lasted surprisingly long for a Kardashian (by marriage) and the queen of tween angst pop. It also surprises me to hear that Avril wanted to settle down. She doesn’t seem like the type at all. As mean as it sounds, at least she hasn’t had a kid yet. She’s generally insufferable and used to be known for being incredibly rude and bragging about it. Avril seemed to calm down quite a bit since she’s been dating Brody. It will only be a matter of time before we see photos of her stumbling drunk out of clubs and flipping off the paparazzi. After all, she’s got to find another dude to settle down with. Maybe she’s changed, though.

In case you were worried that Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner might not last after getting tattoos for each other and solidifying their love during drunken nights at Hollywood clubs, you can rest easy. These two crazy kids are reportedly engaged to be married. They’ve been together a whole year and only broke up once, so it’s time:

On Feb. 9, during the duo’s whirlwind trip to Europe, the divorced singer, 26, e-mailed a bandmate a picture of her left hand with what appears to be an engagement ring on it – with the subject line “ha ha.” And insiders tell Star that Brody, 27, did indeed pop the question to his girlfrien of about a year. “Avril has hinted to pals that she thought Brody was planning a big surprise during their trip to France,” says an insider. “It’s just her style to be coy rather than coming out with an announcement right away.”

I’m hoping that this is just some joke e-mail Avril sent and that Star is reading too much into it. I checked both Avril and Brody’s Twitter accounts, and neither of them have tweeted anything about this and they don’t send tweets to each other either as far as I could tell. (I just skimmed it honestly and didn’t go that far back.)

Last summer, we heard that Brody was “begging” Avril to do a reality show with him. He’s sort-of a Kardashian, after all. (His dad is Bruce Jenner.) Maybe they are engaged and soon we’ll be treated to the Avril and Brody show. Spare us, but you know that some TV exec would sign off on that.

That’s one way to show someone how much you care! Hills alum Brody Jenner — who debuted a mohawk just last week — was spotted in L.A. Saturday with the letter ‘A’ shaved into the right side of his head.

Perhaps the 26-year-old did it for his rocker girlfriend Avril Lavigne, who he’s been dating since the spring.

This isn’t the first time Brody has altered his appearance to prove his love for Lavigne. In early July, he reportedly got a tattoo of the 25-year-old singer’s name on his left forearm.
So what does Brody’s dad Bruce Jenner think of his son’s new rocker look?

“It seems like in today’s society, getting tattoos and piercings, changing the hairstyles, going pink and purple and all that, it seems to be their generation,” Bruce, 60, tells UsMagazine.com. “But hair can grow back! He’ll be fine.”

I have to admit something: I’m starting to think Avril might be really awesome in bed. I would offer the theory that she might secretly have a great personality, but I’m positive she doesn’t, so it must be the sex. I think I forgot that Avril Lavigne made her choice for the eternal question, “Which loser-douche do I bone after my divorce?” She’s already been through Brandon Davis, Wilmer Valderrama, some other heir (to the Dole fortune) and now she’s with Brody Jenner. Can I just say – even though I totally hate Avril, I kind of admire that she goes through men like tissues. It’s interesting, because you wouldn’t think she had that much going on just to look at her. Maybe she’s great in bed. If that’s the case, and she’s really cool in person or something (HA), then she could do way better than Brody Jenner. Just sayin’. But, whatever, they’re in love. Brody Jenner has been pitching a reality show about his new romance — now he’s just got to convince his girlfriend, Avril Lavigne, to co-star! According to an insider, Brody, 26, is determined to increase his C-list level of fame, and he thinks dating Avril, 25 — in front of America — is the way to do it.

So official, in fact, that they put it in ink: We hear that the lovebirds got matching tattoos over the weekend.

“They showed up to the opening of Mario Barth King Ink and requested the same tats,” says an insider at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. The reality TV star and the rock princess both requested lightning bolts, she on her forearm and he behind his ear.

“They were really excited about it,” says the spy, adding that the two spent the rest of the evening cozied up to each other. “They held hands openly and were kissing in a corner. Brody didn’t leave Avril’s side all night.”

Although they refused to pose together on the red carpet at the posh event, a photographer had indeed snapped the first pic of them smooching outside the Chateau Marmont in L.A. on Friday. Later that night, the duo left for their rather romantic trip to Sin City.

And if the matching tats aren’t proof positive that the former playboy may be turning into a one-gal man, a source says Brody just brought the songstress home to meet mom.

“He introduced Avril to his mother last weekend,” says a West Coast insider, who’s close to the new couple. “He’s really head over heels for her and wanted to let her know how serious he was, so he took her to [his mom] Linda’s home. It went really well.”

And it’s not only Brody’s mama who’s s giving the lovebirds her blessing: Avril’s ex-hubby, Deryck Whibley, has apparently approved of the twosome as well.

“Avril and Deryck are just friends now,” insists the pal, despite recent rumors that the two are still hooking up. “He thinks Brody is a good guy and that it’s great the two of them are doing well.”

You know that Deryck is grateful to Brody for taking that pain in the ass off his hands. Deryck is also dating again and was spotted out with another woman just like week. (Photo below.) When I first reported that Avril and Brody were an item I wrote “This won’t last, but at least we won’t be subjected to photos of the two posing at Las Vegas events.” Given that they’ve already got matching tattoos, it’s probably just a matter of time.

Little miss sneer Avril Lavigne is finding love after the end of her marriage to fellow Canadian rocker Deryck Whimbley. According to E! Online, Lavigne has been seeing reality star Brody Jenner. Jenner is the son of former Olympian Bruce Jenner from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and had a couple of reality shows of his own. He was last dating 2008 Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole.

Is Jenner a step up from Handy Manny Wilmer Valderrama, Brandon Davis, and/or a random rich boy? I would say that he’s more of a lateral move for Lavigne.

Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner might be Hollywood’s hottest new hookup.
Sources tell E! News that 25-year-old Lavigne and the Hills star have been seeing each other quietly over the last couple weeks.

“They’re hooking up,” an insider said, “but they’re keeping it low-key.”

Not so low-key that they haven’t been seen in public, however. The pair, who both became single late last year, were first spotted at dinner at Koi on Feb. 4. According to a restaurant source, the “Sk8ter Boi” warbler and 26-year-old hunk left together in the same car and drove to club Voyeur.

They were last seen out again on Thursday, back at Voyeur, where they partied all night.

“You can tell they’re into each other and both like to have a good time,” another source says. “They’re cute together.”

There are sure to be the obligatory photos of Lavigne stumbling out of a club drunk while Jenner holds her up, though. Full disclosure: I have never, in my life, seen even five minutes of the MTV reality show “The Hills.” Seriously, if you were to put these kids in a lineup I would not be able to identify any of them with the exception of Speidi – and the fact that I know who those two morons are is something I will deny in public. Now that we have that out of the way, I must share the sad news that Brody Jenner and his lovely Playmate, Jayde Nicole, are no longer an item. Even though the couple seemed to be brought closer together when Joe Francis assaulted Jayde in an L.A. nightclub after she spilled a drink on his shirt, in the end, Brody needed time for some….wait for it…”soul searching.”

Another couple from The Hills is reality-TV history. Brody Jenner and Jayde Nicole have broken up after about 15 months together, a source close to Jenner confirms to UsMagazine.com.

Nicole, 23, hinted at the split on her Twitter around 8pm Dec. 18 with a wistful entry: “‘Sometimes when you truly love someone you have to let them go…..’ I never really understood that quote until now.”

The night before, however, the former Playboy Playmate was feeling festive. A source tells UsMagazine.com that Nicole “celebrated her breakup” with a 12-strong crew of girlfriends at Hyde Lounge in West Hollywood.

Her single-lady party continued on Dec. 19, when the model hosted a shindig at Chicago’s Manor nightclub. An insider at Manor tells UsMagazine.com that Nicole was “telling everyone” about her Dec. 17 breakup. “She made it sound like it was his doing, saying, ‘He said he needs time to ‘find himself. I don’t have time for that.’” Her ex Jenner, she told friends, has “gone to Australia” for some soul-searching.

Jenner himself Tweeted about starting “a new life” Down Under on Dec. 19. “So I decided to stay in Australia BY MYSELF!!! Hahaha this is Crazy.. Might just stay here and start a new life.”

Despite the sad news, Nicole wasn’t in a gloomy mood at Manor, the source says. “She didn’t seem bothered by the recent breakup at all. She spent the entire night downing Jager shots and flirting with all of the guys.”

Indeed, her Tweets from that night bear that out. “Rocking out at Manor” she wrote a 1:33am on Dec. 20. “Jager time!”

By 11:30am, she was feeling the effects of all those Jagermeister shots: “8 hours of sleep, too much jager= not good.”

On the just-concluded fifth season of The Hills, Nicole and Jenner argued about his flirty relationship with aggressive ex-girlfriend Kristin Cavallari. “Everything was totally fine before you came here, so you need to go back to wherever it is that you came from,” Nicole sniped at Cavallari in one heated exchange on the show.

Awkward alert: all three are signed on to shoot the sixth season of The Hills early next year.

Twitter battles and Jager shots? Glad to see that the former couple is handling the breakup with such maturity. But in all honesty, if Brody thinks he is going to find his soul in Australia, that’s a wild goose chase. We all know he doesn’t have one, right? If anything, his trip to Australia is for the MTV camera crew and little else.

The feud between “Girls Gone Wild” scumbag Joe Francis and Playboy model Jayde Nicole continues to rage on. We told you about the L.A. nightclub incident in which Jayde poured a drink on Francis after she saw him aggressively hitting on her friend. Joe retaliated by grabbing the model from behind by the hair, throwing her to the ground and kicking her. Now, there is video that supports Jayde’s claims, taken from the club where the incident occurred. The video clearly shows Francis coming up behind Jayde while her back is turned and viciously dragging her through a crowd of people by the hair.

“He can’t lie anymore!” Jayde Nicole speaks out for the first time since the attack, describing her nightmare experience at the hands of Joe Francis while watching RadarOnline.com’s explosive never-before-seen security video of the incident.

Early in the morning on Friday, August 28, Jayde, her boyfriend Brody Jenner and a group of friends were at Hollywood hot spot Guys and Dolls when Jayde spotted Joe and said he was grabbing her friend and trying to kiss her. Jayde reached through a crowd and dumped her shot-glass drink on Joe’s shoulder. She then turned back to the bar.

That’s when the violence started. Joe pushed bar patrons aside, reached through the crowd and grabbed Jayde by the hair, viciously yanking her to the floor and dragging her through the crowd. A melee ensued, with Brody and others chasing Francis through the bar.

As she stood up barefoot and sat at the bar Jayde said she had no idea what had just happened to her. “I was traumatized at this point,” the former Playboy model told RadarOnline.com. Conflicting reports from Jenner and Francis say that the two got into a fist fight outside the club and Brody was tasered by someone.

Jayde’s lawyer, Ronald Richards, defended his client and slammed Francis’ violent reaction and the defense he’s been using – “This was not any self defense by Mr. Francis.”

Radar has the video exclusively, so we can’t post it here. But the footage, while black and white and kind of grainy, clearly shows what happened in the club. Unfortunately there’s no video of the fight that happened outside the club, but my theory is that Francis unleashed a couple of thugs on Brody Jenner because he didn’t want to mess up his hair.

Girls Gone Wild head and all-around sociopath creep Joe Francis had some choice words for the woman he “allegedly” beat up inside a Hollywood club last week. Jayde Nicole, 2008 Playmate of the Year, claims Joe attacked her from behind, grabbing her by the hair and punching her in the face. Joe admitted that he did pull her hair a little, but denied punching Jayde. Paparazzi video of Jayde crying outside the club on the night in question supports her side of the story. In the video she shows bruises near her eye while she explains that Francis punched her. Jayde is obviously upset and not faking. Now Joe Francis is claiming that he is somehow the victim of Jayde and her boyfriend, Brody Jenner, who came to Jayde’s defense and punched Joe after he attacked her.

In an obnoxious statement to Fox News, Joe is really vague about what happened except to say that he’s the victim, he’s so much better than the perpetrators, and that Jayde somehow either hit Joe’s ex girlfriend this time or in a previous incident. In fact he’s a “million times above” it all, except in a few sentences later where he talks about how Brody Jenner has a small d*ck. Now how is that relevant to his status as the poor victim of a couple of famewh*res? How superior can you be if you’re resorting to questioning the size of someone’s weenie?

Joe Francis and Brody Jenner were embroiled in a club fight at Hollywood hotspot Guys last Thursday in which Jenner claims Francis beat his girlfriend. The fisticuffs ended with Jenner being tasered, and authorities are investigating the situation.

Pop Tarts caught up with the “Girls Gone Wild” creator to get his side of the story.

“I am the victim of a crime and I have bigger fish to fry. I’m dealing with some idiot, some club rat in Hollywood, and this is ridiculous because I’m a million times above this,” Francis told Pop Tarts. “All that I’m saying is that I’m 100 percent confident that I will come out completely clean on this, and we have been in contact with the police … and I’m fine. I’ve got scratches and bruises but there is no excuse for something like this. It was an unprovoked attack by two losers.”

This isn’t the first time Jenner and Francis have butted heads. Earlier this year, the two had another heated exchange at club MyHouse.

“It was another unprovoked attack. It was so interesting because in that attack, Jayde punches Abbey Wilson, her new best friend, who was the girl by her side that she went to rescue, who was my girlfriend at the time,” Francis said. “I don’t know who Jayde is, I’ve never talked to that girl. I’m so above these people.”

He does, however, seem to have heard a thing or two about Brody Jenner’s, um, Jenner Jr.

“Take a highlighter, put your fingers around that, and take half of it,” Francis said, mentioning two former “Laguna Beach” stars who could vouch for his assertion.

Taking a higher road for a moment, Francis said he’s more concerned about the flames ravaging his town.

“It’s just so stupid. LA is about to burn to down and people give a crap about this? I’m concerned about people’s houses and these fires,” he added. “If you watch these fires coming over the hills, that’s where my concern is. Not Brody on ‘The Hills,’ the kid is a loose cannon.”

Reps for Jenner and Nicole did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Joe’s argument that people are paying attention to what a douche he is while there are terrible fires in LA reads just like Billy Bob Thornton complaining we’re somehow to blame for the fact that his terrible behavior made it into the news. It’s like we shouldn’t pay attention to these fools, and it’s our fault for calling them out when they get in bar fights. Maybe Joe has a point, but like a car crash it’s hard to look away. His ass could get hauled off to federal prison for tax evasion soon, though, so we hopefully won’t be graced with words of delusional grandeur spit out from his giant teeth much longer.

2008 Playboy Playmate of the year, Jayde Nicole, has issued an official statement regarding the attack she suffered at the hands of “Girls Gone Wild” mogul Joe Francis at a Hollywood club late last week. According to Nicole, Francis attacked her from behind, threw her down, and punched her in the face. Reports that came out last week claim that Francis’ attack occurred after Nicole through a drink at him. If you watch a paparazzi video on TMZ taken right after the incident, Nicole is visibly upset and shaken and shows the bruises near her eye that she says were inflicted by Francis. She comes across as completely believable. Francis claims that Nicole’s boyfriend, reality star Brody Jenner, is the one who punched him out of nowhere and that all he did was kind of grab Nicole. Jenner then ended up getting tased by someone that night outside the club, which Francis didn’t mention as far as I could tell. This wasn’t the first bar fight between Jenner and Francis – they were involved in previous altercation in March, at which time Francis is also alleged to have hit Nicole.

Joe Francis claims he was sucker punched. But Jayde Nicole insists it’s Francis who prefers to take the cheap shots.

“Jayde Nicole was the victim of a violent assault when she was attacked from behind, thrown down to the ground by her hair and beaten in the face and body in front of multiple witnesses by a person identified as Joe Francis,” her rep, Jerry Shandrew, said in a statement Monday.

Shandrew says that the Playboy Playmate will not be talking too much while authorities investigate the rumble that occurred early Friday between Francis, Nicole and her boyfriend, Brody Jenner, outside a Hollywood club. Instead, they’d rather the police be the ones making all the noise.

Noting that Nicole filed a police report immediately afterward and has been cooperating with the cops, Shandrew added, “Because of the ongoing criminal investigation of Mr. Francis, it will be inappropriate to comment further at this time out of respect for the law enforcement process.”

Of course, Nicole’s version of the story couldn’t be any different from Francis’, as he has admitted to maybe a bit of hair pulling and denied everything else.

Francis maintains Nicole poured a drink on him inside Guys and Dolls that night, and, in turning around, he may have grabbed her hair.

He told E! News Friday that, after security had helped him get outside, it was an unprovoked Jenner who hit him in the face. “He coldcocked me,” Francis said. He threatened legal action against Jenner afterward for accusing him via Twitter of beating on Nicole.

But according to Nicole’s rep, there is photographic and video evidence of Francis attacking her, not to mention hospital records of her injuries.

“It is the hope of those who love and care about Jayde that Mr. Francis will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Shandrew said.

Radar Online has more details of the night in question, and apparently the altercation started because Jayde and Brody were with an ex girlfriend of Joe Francis’, model Abbey Wilson, at the club. Wilson gave Radar a statement about what happened, and by her account Francis grabbed her and forcibly tried to kiss her. She said that Jayde then intervened but she wasn’t sure if Jayde threw a drink at Joe at all. Then Francis grabbed Jayde by the hair and pulled her back, but the rest was supposedly out of view:

“As I tried to get away from him Jayde intervened and (Francis) grabbed her hair and she fell backwards. I’m not sure if a drink was poured over him though. The next thing a whole bunch of people surrounded us and I couldn’t see any actual physical attacks.”

It sounds like Wilson is being super careful not to incriminate anyone in her statement, and I would bet that she witnessed much more than she’s owning up to. She also says that in the year she lived with Francis he was never violent toward her and she never witnessed him being violent toward anyone else. I find that hard to believe, and maybe she’s scared of the guy and is covering up for him, but whatever.

Joe Francis still faces federal tax evasion charges. His trial is scheduled to start on October 14. E! Online asked a rep from the US Attorney’s Office if Francis’ attack on Nicole could put him behind bars while he awaits trial. The rep said it’s too early to tell. The judge isn’t going to take kindly to Francis beating up a woman at a club, though, and maybe it will earn him some more jail time. He’s already spent 11 months in jail without bail on a civil charge for using underage girls in his videos which he claimed that was a gross travesty of justice and whined that the judge and prosecutor had it out for him. The guy spent most of his time in a Nevada jail of his choice where he had phone and Internet privileges, though, so it’s not like he was truly hurting. Francis faces up to ten years in federal prison for tax evasion, and that experience will be nothing like his last stint in jail. There’s at least some justice in this world.
