Heather Locklear’s new face: is she overdoing the Botox & fillers?

closeup2

Apparently, this is a subject we have never covered before! Brave new world, eh? So I’ll just ask: how friggin’ jacked is Heather Locklear’s face these days? I mean, there’s a little cosmetic work here and there that we can debate with some celebrities, and then there’s this kind of travesty. The biggest issue is that I think Heather’s problem isn’t a facelift or anything like that – I think she’s one of those women who got “fillers” and she just doesn’t realize how crazy she looks now. She probably surrounds herself with people who are like “Honey, you look amazing!”

fp_6906426_locklearheather_bigapple_cjny_00_02

fp_6718857_rij_bieber_set1_41_115

The photos where Heather is getting out of the car are from yesterday, but I also pulled some photos of Heather from a few weeks ago, when she went to the LA premiere of Never Say Never – the fillers are really obvious in those pics too. Oh, and do I also spy a boob job? Heather always had some boobs but where they that big before?

fp_6906427_locklearheather_bigapple_cjny_01_02

Once again, my biggest problem with this kind of very noticeable work is the denial – I’ve been looking around to see if Heather has specifically denied getting a new, puffy face, but it looks like she hasn’t confirmed or denied it recently, although there are some older quotes – from when she was married to Richie – floating around about how she hadn’t done anything, but that she wasn’t opposed to it. Looks like she was telling the truth.

Heather Locklear brings the bitch back to Melrose Place (spoilers for past eps)

Spoilers for past Melrose Place (2009) episodes follow
Heather Locklear blew into Melrose Place this week in a revival of her supremely bitchy character Amanda Woodward. She stole every scene she was in, and proved a formidable opponent to the main career woman on the block, Ella Sims, played by Katie Cassidy. Locklear plays Cassidy’s ruthless boss, and she makes the superficial Cassidy look angelic in comparison. I’m really enjoying the new Melrose and Locklear just improved it. Add in the fact that Ashlee Simpson is about to leave and it can only get better. EW has a really thorough recap of last night’s episode, including all the supreme shirtless shots of the hot male actors. A segment of EW’s recap is below, and there’s more on EW’s site. You can also watch the full episode on CW’s website if you’re in the US.

Wow…Amanda Woodward is back and it already feels like Melrose Place has been elevated to another level. This was certainly the reboot’s sharpest, sexiest and bitchiest episode, which I obviously mean as a compliment. Bravo, Heather Locklear, you still know how to rock a mini-skirt and infuse any scene with crackling energy.

Amanda revealed herself as the “W” in PR firm WPK, which is of course Ella’s employer. Amanda, who had been living in New York, swept through the L.A. office with swift firings (casualties included Ella’s boss Caleb) and some sassy talk. “This L.A. branch is drowning in red like a steer in a slaughter house. Now when I hired you to give this place a makeover, I didn’t mean smear it with lipstick and turn it into a five-dollar hooker. This office is pathetic,” Amanda announced with her jaw-dropping entrance.

Amanda had plenty of zingers — after Ella came into her office gushing about how Amanda’s profile in Vanity Fair had inspired her career in PR – the boss cut her off quickly: “Shockingly, I didn’t call you in for your life’s story, but your absentee father and pill-popping mother make for a very juicy tale.” She then told Ella to force Riley to sell the press on a fake bio to make the Anton V Real People jeans ads more interesting. Ella protested at first but Amanda put her in her place: “If you have a problem there’s a long list of eager assistants willing to take your place.”

I loved the Ella-Amanda sparks already and think they’ll only get better in time as Ella feels strong enough to stand up to Amanda more. Back in the Melrose 1.0 years, Amanda taking down Allison was like watching a cheetah pounce on a helpless wounded bird. At least in Ella, she has — or will have — a worthy sparring partner.

[From EW.com]

I’ll keep watching this trashy show full of lots of eye candy and intrigue. There were more twists in the murder mystery this week and we’re still not much closer to finding out the culprit. I don’t really care about that part of the plot so much though and primarily watch for the sex and cattiness. Heather Locklear still brings it to the small screen.

(Note: The CW has advertised with us, but I genuinely enjoy this show and this is not a paid story.)

Heather Locklear comes in at around 1:00 below. In the aired episode they played a different song for her entrance about the bitch being back.

Major characters off Melrose Place (spoilers, interesting even if you don’t watch it)

melrose1
I’ve been keeping up with the new “Melrose Place” on The CW since the premiere, and while it can be kind of cheesy I do enjoy the glamor and the intrigue. My favorite character is bitchy but vulnerable Ella Simms, played to a T by Katie Cassidy. Cassidy is a talented actress and she really makes you root for Ella despite her character’s opportunistic personality.

Ashley Simpson’s character is the obvious weak point of the show, because she just can’t act. Her character Violet is emerging as the prime murder suspect and she’s supposed to be conniving, but all she does is over-emote and I’ve found myself rolling my eyes during her scenes. It’s hard to see Ashlee as anything but a mediocre singer trying too hard to act.

Yesterday it was reported that “Melrose Place” had been half renewed by The CW, which ordered another five episodes for next season. The show is just treading water in the ratings, as opposed to the blockbuster “Vampire Diaries,” which has been renewed for a full season with 10 episodes.

Spoilers for future episodes start here, do not read on if you want to be surprised
EW’s Michael Ausiello has a new interview with producers of the show, who reveal that both Ashlee Simpson and Colin Egglesfield (who plays hot chef Auggie) are off the show next year starting in January. He also reports that the mystery of Sydney’s murder will be solved in December. (I suspect that Auggie was involved, because he was shown burning bloody clothes at the end of the first episode, but it’s hard to tell.) Heather Locklear is coming back in November as we’ve already heard, and more new characters will be introduced.

I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with the show and am kind of relieved that Ashlee’s character will be leaving. Auggie is such delectable eye candy but I’m not that attached to that character either. The producers claim that it was planned all along that Violet and Auggie would leave this season, but Colin Egglesfield tells E! it was a complete surprise and that he had a multi-year contract. You can kind of tell it wasn’t set it stone by the way the producers phrase their answers too.

Two months into its run, The CW’s ratings-challenged (but creatively-smokin’) Melrose Place reboot is about to undergo a major renovation. For starters, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield have been let go (they’ll last air in January), and the “Who Killed Sydney?” mystery is being wrapped up in December. Then, in addition to Heather Locklear’s Amanda, several new characters will be introduced and the show will take on a lighter, more fun vibe. Here, in an exclusive interview, exec producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer explain why they’re fixing a series that many (myself included) felt wasn’t broken and tease what’s ahead for Melrose 2.0 3.0.

What was behind the decision to let Ashlee and Colin go?
TODD SLAVKIN: Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show.

So it was always the plan for Ashlee to leave after episode 12?
SLAVKIN: Yes. Because we felt that once the murder mystery was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift into a much more fun, romantic, sexy upbeat kind of show, and [her] character would move on.

Same thing with Colin?
SLAVKIN: Colin was always meant to be the ultimate suspect. And his brooding alcoholic [character] tonally didn’t fit the paradigm moving into post-murder mystery Melrose Place.

Is it fair to say that if either of those characters clicked you would’ve found a way to keep them?
SLAVKIN: Well, you never know when you go along. But in the end, we felt like it was right [decision].
DARREN SWIMMER: The nature of soaps is that as things progress along, the story takes on a life of its own and the characters come and go in relation to that.

How did Ashlee and Colin take the news?
SLAVKIN: They’re total professionals and they took it like professionals. When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.

[From EW.com]

The interview then covers the new fun direction that show will take. Although the producers deny that they’ve been influenced by the ratings, you can bet that was a large part of it. The trashy and superficial parts of the show are much more appealing than the murder mystery and I’m glad they’ll be switching gears. We’ll have to see how Heather Locklear mixes things up as Amanda too. She’s going to be a large part of the new show, and you can bet there will be a mini-war between Amanda and Ella. Bring it on!

Heather Locklear wouldn’t change 2008 but looks forward to 2009

Heather Locklear made her first television appearance since her DUI arrest on The Tonight Show Wednesday night to promote a new movie she has coming up on Lifetime called Flirting with 40. With her eternally bright smile, Locklear happily answered Jay Leno’s questions about her troubling year. She was cute and charming, and while the events of the last year were publicly humilating for her, Heather says she wouldn’t change anything.

Heather Locklear: Thank you! I feel fantastic!

Leno: How ya been?

Locklear: I've been... better. But I'm good today. (laughter)

Leno: Are you glad 2008 is almost over?

Locklear: No, it's been a rough 2008, yeah it has, but I'm really looking forward to 2009. There's like, 3 weeks left that, you know, I'll stay in my house! (laughter)

Leno: So what was the biggest challenge for you this past year?

Locklear: Um, you know, just alot of personal things, and I think that I'm, you know, over that hump. I've done some work and here I am, safe and sound!

Leno: So looking back, what would you have done differently this past year? Anything?

Locklear: I would have stayed in my house! (laughter) No, you know what, I wouldn't have done anything differently because here I am today, happy and healthy and, you know, lessons are to learn, so...

Leno: And you learned some lessons?

Locklear: Some hard lessons! Yeah!

[Transcribed from The Tonight Show at NBC.com]

Jay asked about Heather’s relationship with her ex-husband, Richie Sambora, and according to her, it’s more than amicable. Locklear said she and her present boyfriend, Jack Wagner, had Sambora over for Thanksgiving! She makes sure everything stays good for the sake of her daughter.

Heather revealed her little pick-me-up crush to Leno, none other than The Tonight Show’s Ross the Intern. She was adorable, and who wouldn’t be talking about their “massive crush” on Ross the Intern, I have a gay-guy crush of my own on him. He’s just too sweet for words, and I totally see where Heather is coming from. Jay didn’t, he called her crush a waste, but brought Ross out to meet her, anyway. It was like a tween girl meeting a Jonas brother. Too freakin’ cute!

As Leno often does, he pulled up some old, embarrassing footage from Locklear’s TJ Hooker days. The clip was of Heather “undercover” in a strip club, posing as a dancer. Heather was so embarrassed she couldn’t stop crying with laughter. Even while Jay was trying to talk about her new movie.

You want to hate her, because she’s just so damn gorgeous, but the woman is just too cute to hate. I’m really glad to see her healthy and happy. Here’s to a better 2009 for Heather.

Heather Locklear was set up for arrest by stalker

Yesterday when the news came out that Heather Locklear’s DUI arrest came after someone called the cops on her it sounded like a typical good samaritan case. E! reported that someone witnessed Heather driving over sunglasses in a parking lot, and then somehow later ran into her wandering in traffic after she pulled her car over to the side of the road. At the very least it sounded like the person who called the cops had followed her after the parking lot incident and didn’t just happen to later see her behaving strangely. It turns out that reality might be a lot more sinister for Locklear and that she may have been set up by a stalker – or at least someone who was following her and orchestrated her arrest.

The person who called 911 on Heather and who tipped off the paparazzi is a nefarious character who used to work at US Weekly and is under FBI investigation for downloading celebrity contact information. She happened to be following Heather at the time and it sounds like Locklear’s behavior wasn’t all that strange before this woman called the police:

This is the craziest story ever. The woman who called 911 on Heather Locklear is a former Us Weekly staffer who was under investigation by the FBI — and she’s the one who tipped off the paparazzi!

Jill Ishkanian, who allegedly hacked into Us Weekly’s computer system to locate celebs after she left the mag, was following Locklear in the Montecito area. Ishkanian watched the actress go to a market. When Heather got in her car, Ishkanian called 911, even though the car wasn’t even moving at the time.

Now get this — sources say immediately after Ishkanian called 911, she called a paparazzi agency to give them the heads up Heather was about to be popped. TMZ obtained those photos, not knowing it was Ishkanian who set the ball in motion.

And it gets worse. Ishkanian apparently is the only witness who says Lockelear was driving erratically and that she was drunk, even though it’s already established she was not under the influence of alcohol.

Sound underhanded? That’s what we’re thinking …

[From TMZ]

Cops did say Locklear exhibited signs of impairment although it sounds like she passed the breathalyser. I wonder if this same Ishkanian person is the one who called 911 on Heather way back in March when it was claimed that she was about to attempt suicide but it turned out to be nothing. The news at the time had Heather’s psychiatrist calling 911 after she said she wanted to die, but it could have been someone else. She did go to rehab and it sounds like she has a genuine substance abuse problem. No one deserves to get set up like that though – unless they really are driving under the influence of something. We’ll have to see what more information comes out about this and if the ex US Weekly staffer is brought to task.

TMZ has many paparazzi photos taken on the scene and in some pictures Heather has a visible belly that some people suggest might be a pregnancy. (See the second page of the photos, near the bottom.) It looks somewhat suspicious, but it could be a normal stomach that’s poking out. Heather is 47 and looks fabulous.

Richie Sambora called Heather Locklear every day in rehab

Heather Locklear emerged from rehab on Wednesday– and it only took two days for a rehab snitch to divulge some of what went on during her stay. Luckily, everything the source said was pretty good, and it sounds like Heather had a lot of support from her friends and family. According to the source, Heather’s ex-husband Richie Sambora called her every single day while she was there.

Heather Locklear’s ex-husband Richie Sambora (who struggled with alcoholism) called her daily during her recent four-week stint in rehab for depression and anxiety, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. (The paper claims she also may have been treated for prescription drug issues.)

The source says that Locklear, 46, told the other patients at the Arizona facility that she felt the world was closing in on her before she sought help. The source adds that Locklear felt people expected her “to be perfect, always beautiful.” During her stay, the source says Locklear “couldn’t have been warmer or more approachable. There was no diva behavior. She was totally genuine, down-to-earth and warm.”

She often enjoyed riding horses. She even told patients that she wanted to make a Western film “so I can better work on my riding skills,” the insider says. At one point during rehab, Locklear was overheard singing and said she’d love to record an album, the source says.

[From Us Weekly]

Heather might want to keep that album idea on the down low. That’s probably the only thing in the article you could say was slanderous. I kid, I kid. But I don’t think a Heather Locklear CD will be sitting on my shelf anytime soon – and I’m guessing the same goes for most people, unless they’re interested in the novelty factor.

Boyfriend Jack Wagner got a bit of flack for only visiting Heather twice during the month she was in rehab. There was no mention of how often he called, but supposedly their relationship is still going strong, and Heather thinks they might get married soon. I think it’s really great that Richie Sambora was there for her like that. I can’t think of a whole lot of ex-husbands that would care or want to be helpful in that way. And Heather is the mother of his child – it makes sense that Richie would want her to be as healthy and happy as possible.

Denise Richards struggles with the truth; may have 20 dogs

Denise Richards really seems to have some problems with the truth. Not that that’s news to anyone, but she’s increasingly getting caught for all of her lies. The actress has long been called out on fudging the details in her relationship with ex-boyfriend Richie Sambora. Richie is the ex-husband of Denise’s former best friend Heather Locklear. Denise has always claimed that she and Heather hadn’t been friends for several months when she and Richie started dating – but most people agree that’s a load of crap.

Denise Richards claims to be “setting the record straight” on her new E! reality show, “It’s Complicated,” but several sources who know the actress say it’s a record that she’s making up.

On the show, Richards says more than once that she’s no husband stealer, claiming that she and Heather Locklear weren’t friends for months before she started dating Locklear’s estranged husband, Richie Sambora – and that the relationship started only after Locklear and Sambora split. But a Locklear pal says otherwise.

“Heather has phone records that prove Denise was calling Richie while Heather was still married to him,” our source said. “Heather was such a good friend to Denise. She gave Denise clothes and offered her a shoulder to cry on when she and [now ex-husband] Charlie [Sheen] split up – there are even photos in the press of Heather taking Denise out after she and Charlie split. And then a few weeks later – not months – Denise starts dating Richie.

“For Denise to claim that not only did she not initiate contact with Richie but that she and Heather weren’t friends for three months before she took up with him, well, that’s just absurd and an outright lie.

[From the New York Post]

Denise has also downplayed how many animals she has. It turns out she’s an animal collector, a la Paris Hilton.

On her show, Richards also says she has five dogs, four cats and three pigs. But an insider said, “Please – she has over 20 dogs, five cats, three pigs and several guinea pigs. Her place is like a zoo. She collects animals.”

Richards, via a rep, told us: “I will not respond to these tireless rumors. It’s such old news. I will say I have 10 dogs. Is there a law against having a lot of animals? My family loves animals, I live on a ranch, and I provide a great environment for them, so I am not sure why there is so much drama about how many animals I have.”

[From the New York Post]

First off, yes there is a law against having a lot of animals. Several laws. It obviously varies by county, and perhaps living on a ranch gives Richards a little more leeway, but yes, there is a law.

Secondly, on the show Denise specifically states that she has five dogs. In her response, she admits that she has at least ten. Yet she doesn’t seem to realize that she’s just been caught in a very obvious lie. And the phrasing “I will say that I have 10 dogs” seems odd to me. She didn’t say “I have ten dogs.” It’s more like, “I’ll admit to ten.” And considering five equaled ten before, it makes you think that ten might very well equal twenty. Which makes you wonder what other math Richards is fudging. Or dates.

Here’s Denise shopping in Malibu in March. Images thanks to WENN.

Richie Sambora wants to dump Denise and get back with Heather

A new article in Life and Style claims that as Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear’s high-profile divorce is close to reaching a settlement, Richie is having second thoughts and realizes how much he loves his wife of 11 years. He even sent a $500 pink and red rose bouquet to Heather.

The report details that with his divorce from Heather nearly final; Richie is having a change of heart. An insider tells the weekly magazine Life & Style that while Richie’s girlfriend, Denise Richards, was in Hawaii; Richie had two “incredibly emotional” phone conversations with Heather.

“He’s realizing its ending and doesn’t want it to,” the insider tells L&S. “He’s still in love with her.”

So what do men in love an in trouble do at times like this? Send flowers – or in Richie’s case – a lot of flowers. The report claims that on Aug. 10, the insider says Richie sent Heather a massive $500 bouquet of red and pink roses.

Wow. He must realize what he’s missing with Heather. Sambora was said to be totally surprised to be served divorce papers this February and even denied to the press that he and Heather were split. Maybe he’s not ready to let go.

If that’s true, it’s got to piss off his media-whore girlfriend, Denise Richards. Denise recently reached an amicable “interim” settlement with her ex, Charlie Sheen, who she famously skewered in the press on the eve of his children’s clothing line launch. Denise didn’t renew a restraining order against Sheen and according to their lawyers they’re getting along.

Denise and Richie were said to be planning a wedding for early next year, and Denise was seen wearing what looked like an engagement ring. She followed Richie to Europe while he was touring with Bon Jovi and seemed really needy in the relationship. If this is true then he’s obviously sick of her. Men don’t usually like women who hang all over them.
