Anne Hathaway is probably smoking a blunt & eating some Doritos right now

The condescension and judgment are thick in this National Enquirer story. I’m not saying that the meat of the story isn’t true, it’s just that the “source” is a real bitch while interpreting what went down. So, the basic gist is that Anne Hathaway is a terrible pothead. She’s terrible because she’s a pothead and she doesn’t want anyone to know that she’s a terrible pothead, so she puts herself out there like a hyperactive theater geek/princess. The Enquirer got a glimpse of some photographs of Anne during her honeymoon last year, and it seems like she spent her entire honeymoon stoned out of her skull, eating lots of food, not wearing makeup, and draped on some man who was not her new husband. Is anyone else thinking that this story makes Anne sound a lot cooler?

Anne Hathaway is caught up in an eye-popping drug shocker! In a series of bombshell photographs seen by the Enquirer, Anne smokes what looks like a huge hand-rolled marijuana cigarette during her honeymoon last October. Anne also drapes herself over another man and shows off a mouthful of partially chewed food in the career-shaking pictures.

“In one photo Anne is seen puffing on what appears to be a massive marijuana blunt with her arms wrapped around an unidentified man,” a source who say the photos told The Enquirer. “The guy is red-eyed and laughing and they’re both wearing Mardi Gras beads. It’s clear they’re having a great time partying.”

Another photos shows a droopy-eyed Anne sitting at a dinner table holding a joint, and with a huge glass of white wine in front of her.

“Anne isn’t wearing any makeup, her eyes are red and her pupils are dilated and glassy… she looks like she’s been partying… although she likes to project a goody-goody image, these photos are not at all what you’d expect from the prim and proper person Anne tries to portray in public life.”

Friends worry about the influence of husband Adam Shulman.

“He has a degree in theater and resents that he can’t get a break while Anne and their mutual friends are so successful. He’s a terribly unhappy and troubled guy. Everyone’s hoping Anne will ditch him.”

[From The Enquirer, print edition]

I’m not worried about the pot. At all. If she wants to smoke a blunt on her honeymoon (or any other time), God bless. I’m not worried about the eating. If she wants to eat, God bless. I’m not worried about her projection of one goody-goody image while simultaneously being a terrible pothead who eats solid food in her private life. All of that is fine with me. But I do think it’s weird that she was draped all over some random dude on her honeymoon. And I do worry that Adam Shulman is… well, something is bugging me, I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t trust dudes in skinny jeans. And at the end of the day, I think Annie just settled. I think she wanted to get married, and she said yes to the first dude who asked her (much like Kim Kardashian’s predicament).

Recreational marijuana legalized in Colorado and Washington

Ballot measures in the states of Colorado and Washington to legalize marijuana for recreational use have passed! They’re now the first two states in the US in which personal non-medical marijuana use is legal. This is of course in violation of federal law and may lead to a legal battle with the Obama administration. Advocates point out that this is how prohibition was appealed in the late 1920s – individual states repealed prohibition prior to its appeal on the federal level in 1933.

Marijuana in these two states will now be officially regulated, taxed and sold by the government – similar to how my state, Virginia, sells hard liquor only in government-run stores. Individuals in Colorado and Washington can possess up to an ounce of marijuana for personal use. People in Colorado will be allowed to grow up to six marijuana plants, while grow-your-own is prohibited in Washington. A similar, more permissive bill in Oregon, which would have legalized unlimited cultivation and possession of marijuana, was defeated. They need to start a little slower than that. Medical marijuana was also approved in Massachusetts by yesterday’s vote, making it the 18th state to do so. Here’s more, thanks to Reuters, which has more information at the source about the process these states will go through to set up legal dispensaries.

Colorado and Washington became the first U.S. states to legalize the possession and sale of marijuana for recreational use on Tuesday in defiance of federal law, setting the stage for a possible showdown with the Obama administration.

But another ballot measure to remove criminal penalties for personal possession and cultivation of recreational cannabis was defeated in Oregon, where significantly less money and campaign organization was devoted to the cause.

Supporters of a Colorado constitutional amendment legalizing marijuana were the first to declare victory, and opponents conceded defeat, after returns showed the measure garnering nearly 53 percent of the vote versus 47 percent against.

“Colorado will no longer have laws that steer people toward using alcohol, and adults will be free to use marijuana instead if that is what they prefer. And we will be better off as a society because of it,” said Mason Tvert, co-director of the Colorado pro-legalization campaign.

The Drug Policy Alliance, a national advocacy group that backed the initiatives, said the outcome in Washington and Colorado reflected growing national support for liberalized pot laws, citing a Gallup poll last year that found 50 percent of Americans favored making it legal, versus 46 opposed.

Supporters of Washington state’s pot legalization initiative declared victory after the Seattle Times and other media projected a win for marijuana proponents.

Early returns showed pro-legalization votes led with 55 percent versus to 44 percent opposed with about 60 percent of ballots tallied in the state’s all-mail-in election system.

The outcomes in Colorado and Washington, which already have laws on the books legalizing marijuana for medical purposes, put both states in further conflict with the federal government, which classifies cannabis as an illegal narcotic.

The U.S. Department of Justice reacted to the measure’s passage in Colorado by saying its enforcement policies remain unchanged, adding: “We are reviewing the ballot initiative and have no additional comment at this time.”…

Under the recreational marijuana measures in Colorado and Washington, personal possession of up to an ounce (28.5 grams) of marijuana would be legal for anyone at least 21 years of age. They also will permit cannabis to be legally sold and taxed at state-licensed stores in a system modeled after a regime many states have in place for alcohol sales.

Oregon’s initiative would have legalized state-licensed sales, as well as possession and cultivation of unlimited amounts of pot for personal recreational use.

The Colorado measure will limit cultivation to six marijuana plants per person, but “grow-your-own” pot would be still be banned altogether in Washington state.

Tvert said provisions legalizing simple possession in Colorado would take effect after 30 days, once the election results are certified. Colorado’s amendment also mandates establishing rules for sales and excise tax collections once the state legislature reconvenes in January.

“The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will,” Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat who opposed the measure, said in a statement. “This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through.”

[From Reuters]

As Reuters mentions, we’ll have to see what the Obama administration says about these measures, and if they speak out against them. They’ve been cracking down on medical marijuana outfits in California that were distributing the drug on a wider basis. This is something much different.

I’m not a pot smoker, but I’m glad these bills have passed. I don’t think possession and use of small amounts should be illegal, and I agree that people with chronic pain and medical issues should be able to use marijuana responsibly to manage their conditions. There are prescription narcotics on the market that are much more harmful and life-altering than pot ever will be, and it’s about time that it was decriminalized. (At the least.) I do worry about people driving while high, though, and whether law enforcement will have the tools they need to sobriety test for pot.

Amber Rose gets sick when smells weed, so Wiz stopped smoking in front of her

I can’t help it, I really love Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa. I think they might be one of my favorite celebrity couples. She’s beautiful and tough, he’s skinny and talented, and now they’re expecting a baby. It’s amazing! Anyway, Amber and Wiz cover the October/November issue of XXL magazine, and I’m including some of the beautiful shots from the pictorial. Note: Bedhead already covered some of this stuff a few weeks ago, but there are more quotes and photos, so that’s why I’m doing this. I know some people get irritated by these kinds of “baby-daddy lovingly cradling his baby-mama’s swollen pregnancy belly” photo shoots, but I like this one. It’s Wiz and Amber… they’re awesome! Anyway, in some new excerpts from the magazine interview, Amber talks about her birth plan and how Wiz isn’t smoking weed in front of her now that she’s pregnant:

He set the bar high on his promises to be both the best performer and the best family man he could be — and, according to Amber Rose, Wiz Khalifa is staying true to his word.

Engaged and expecting their first child together, the model mama tells XXL that her fiancé is more than willing to sacrifice for the sake of their soon-to-be tight-knit trio — even when it comes to his infamous herbal habits.

“He would never ever smoke in front of me,” Rose, 28, explains in the magazine’s October/November issue. “I mean, even just living in California, it’s really hard because there’s weed shops everywhere. So even when I’m driving and I go down the wrong block, I get sick.”

But now in her second trimester — and keeping the baby’s sex under wraps — Rose is taking all the triggers to her morning sickness in stride and hopes to learn from her experiences for future pregnancies.

“My first trimester was really hard, like most women. I threw up a lot. I’m still sick now in my second trimester,” she says. “I just feel like I learned a lot just being pregnant this time. For my next baby, I’ll know what not to eat and things to stay away from.”

While she won’t reveal details surrounding her due date, Rose is open about her birth plan; She is anticipating a completely natural delivery. “I’m so ready. I’ve decided that I’m going to have an all-natural water birth. No medicine,” the mom-to-be shares.

Her motivation? Khalifa — and any future tummy troubles of his. “I want those bragging rights! The next time Wiz has a stomachache or anything, I’ll say, ‘I popped out a baby all-natural.’”

[From People Magazine]

Do you think it’s some kind of huge sacrifice to NOT smoke weed in front of your pregnant baby-mama? I guess it is a sacrifice if you’re Wiz, and you love the reefer. Notice that no one is saying “Wiz isn’t smoking weed anymore now that Amber is pregnant.” Just that he’s not smoking in front of her.

As for her morning sickness… poor Amber! Oh, and here’s a photo Amber tweeted over the weekend – she says she’s “21 weeks” along. She’s carrying really beautifully.

Mom who smokes pot daily calls out drunk moms: fair or no different?

Last week, Jezebel ran a first person essay from a anonymous mom who regularly smoked pot and had a baby at home she cared for, while high. The mom described how she could focus on her baby and play games with her while high in a way that wasn’t possible after drinking too much. She wrote that she wanted to take the stigma away from marijuana use by parents. It was a funny essay, but this mom’s kid was a baby and her husband was there to pick up the slack. Is she still going to be toking up daily as the kid grows up? It just seemed short-sighted to me.

Yesterday, The Today Show’s blog ran a related story from a 40-something mom to 8 and 6 year-old boys who admitted to smoking pot daily to cope with stress. This mom, who only goes by “Margaret,” went on to call moms who drink too much “pathetic.” It was controversial to say the least, and I really didn’t see how this lady is better or different than moms who drink too much. Here’s part of Today’s story, with more at the source:

Every night, Margaret’s two boys fly into the house after sports practice and flip on the TV, while she races to the kitchen to get dinner cooking. “It’s that tedious witching hour when I feel incredibly frazzled,” says the Tennessee singer/songwriter mom of a 6- and an 8-year-old. But instead of pouring herself a glass or two of merlot, she heads to the standalone garage next to their house for a few puffs of Humboldt Kush, one of the four strains of pot she smokes seven days a week.

The drug helps her keep focus on the giant statue of popsicle sticks she’s building with her kids and relaxes her so she can get through the rest of the night without stressing. “It can make folding a pile of laundry fun,” says Margaret, 45, who asked that we not use her last name for fear of getting in trouble with the law. “If I didn’t smoke, that’d be three piles later in the week.”

Still, she doesn’t flaunt her marijuana use. Her sons aren’t allowed to go into the room where she keeps the drugs locked up, and she hides it from other moms who would keep their kids away if they knew she smoked pot.

“Being judged for doing something nontoxic and totally organic, enjoying a god-given plant, by moms who suck back two bottles of Chardonnay like sports drinks feels like s—,” complains Margaret. “Any hypocrisy is hard to swallow. A drunk mother is pathetic and I often leave parties when I experience other mothers tying one on.”

Margaret isn’t the only pot-smoking mom tired of being judged by moms who religiously drink glasses of wine or “mommy juice.” Recently, one mom stirred up some controversy when she admitted to parenting while stoned in an essay on Jezebel.com. Today, the group Moms for Marijuana International has more than 18,000 likes on Facebook.

“No matter what you use, you shouldn’t be judged if it works for you, you’re productive, and you do no harm,” says Diane Fornbacher, co-vice chair of the Women’s Alliance at NORML, the non-profit lobbying organization working to legalize marijuana. “Marijuana parents aren’t perfect, but they’re far less imperfect than parents who use alcohol irresponsibly. Cannabis can influence people to be nicer to one another. You rarely find a story that says two stoners beat each other up outside of a bar.”

Sharon Letts, a California mom who brewed Cannabis tea for her 16-year-old daughter when she was stricken with pain from fibromyalgia, agrees. “Cannabis takes the edge off your day, in the same way wine does. But it’s not addictive, it is habitual. It doesn’t ruin your body like alcohol. I would much rather see parents using cannabis than alcohol — hands down.”

Of course, pot is illegal and alcohol is legal. Letts and her daughter felt paranoid that the tea’s smell would alert their neighbors. The price for getting caught is high. In some states, moms risk getting arrested and incarcerated, as well as having their kids taken away from them.

“If I wanted to, I could sit with a glass of wine in one hand, a cup of coffee in the other, with a cigarette pressed between my lips, under the influence of prescription narcotics — all the while holding my child in my lap,” says Serra Frank, founding director of Moms for Marijuana and mother of two, ages 9 and 12.

“Everywhere we look our families are bombarded with advertisements for these drugs. Our societies benefit from taxes placed on the manufacture and sale of these drugs. Yet, we can’t make the decision to choose one of the most commonly used drugs, one that has proven to be much safer than all the rest? That’s just not logical.”

Whether a mom chooses wine or pot to take the edge off her day, how she uses the drug is important to consider.

[From The Today Show]

What about being sober around your kid(s)? What about striving to be a good mom by coping with negative feelings instead of blotting them out? Kids who are in grade school totally know when their parents are drunk or high. Kids who are younger than that depend on their parents for basic needs and are getting shafted when their caregivers aren’t all there. I’m not saying that it’s not fine to knock back a few or toke up as a parent, but not every weeknight at the “stressful time” as this mom claims. I do believe that smoking pot is no worse, or better, than drinking. I’m for decriminalization. Different strokes, but why get high all the time and set that example? It’s a slippery slope argument to say “it’s better than the drunk moms.” Maybe it is by some very low standards, but why not focus on your own family and dealing with your own issues without getting blotto? Also, I agree that there’s a huge problem with prescription drug abuse. But again it’s all drugs. Kids need moms who are there for them. This crap should be “recreational,” not daily.

Meghan McCain comes out publicly in support of legalizing marijuana

Meghan McCain, the 27 year-old daughter of Senator John McCain, is currently promoting her new book, co-written by Michael Ian Black, titled America, You Sexy Bitch. (She wins a lot of points with me for choosing that title, because I’m sick of people acting like “bitch” is a dirty word. It’s not, bitches.) The book is a kind of travelogue across America with Meghan and Michael chronicling their adventures and talking politics. In an appearance on The Tonight Show recently, Megan discussed a point she made in her book, that she’s for legalizing marijuana and that she thinks it makes sense for the US economically. That’s a surprising stance from the daughter of a famous Republican politician. Here’s more:

During an appearance on Tuesday’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, McCain discussed her new book, America, You Sexy Bitch, which includes a section about her advocating for the legalization of pot.

“I was living in Los Angeles very briefly last year, and I was shocked at how people here smoke weed the way people in New York pour wine,” she said. “Once I started doing research onto the economic benefits for our country by decriminalizing marijuana, I decided to come out publicly in support of it.”

McCain repeated her comments on The View Wednesday morning, adding that she’s “not a cannabis user … frequently.”

When Barbara Walters quipped that her “father’s going to be so proud,” McCain responded, “He knows everything … and he loves me.”

The discussion also prompted Elisabeth Hasselbeck to suggest a breathalizer-style system for testing marijuana users’ levels of intoxication before they drive, to which Sherri Shepherd responded: “You don’t leave the house when you’re high.”

[From People]

I like that she took a somewhat controversial stance on a typically liberal issue. This is a much better route to self-promotion than sharing potentially scandalous stories about herself to try and drum up publicity. I’m not saying her opinion isn’t genuine, just that she knew the attention this stance would bring. I wonder how her dad feels about this and if they’ve discussed it at the dinner table? He’s said that he’s against legalization, and he’s called marijuana a “gateway drug.” This is what John McCain said about marijuana in 1999. “I can’t support the legalization of marijuana. Scientific evidence indicates that the moment that it enters your body, one, it does damage, and second, it can become addictive. It is a gateway drug. There is a problem in American with alcohol abuse, and there’s no doubt about that. We have to do whatever we can to – prevention, education, and that applies to drugs too.”

I don’t have strong feelings about this because I grew up and live on the east coast, and I’m not a marijuana smoker. It’s just not something my friends do. I smoked in college a bit, but I don’t know a lot of people who toke up now. As Meghan mentioned, it’s much more common on the west coast due to medical marijuana and decriminalization out there. I agree with her, though, I think marijuana should be decriminalized across the country and not just in certain states. It’s also outrageous to me that people can obtain prescriptions for Oxycontin and other addictive and potentially deadly drugs but they can’t get a prescription for medical grade marijuana. That’s another issue I guess.

Armie Hammer was busted for pot possession in Texas, two months ago

Well, this certainly doesn’t correspond to his image of a picture-perfect Disney prince. TMZ reports that Armie Hammer, star of The Social Network and currently up for a handful of Supporting-Actor awards for J. Edgar, is now officially a pothead. He was arrested in Texas for possession of pot cookies and one pot brownie. But this was back in November! How are we just hearing about it now?

“Social Network” star Armie Hammer — who played both Winklevoss twins in the movie — was arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas for marijuana possession … the same small town where both Willie Nelson AND Snoop Dogg were busted for pot in the last year.

A drug-sniffing dog did the detective work, and allegedly found 3 medicinal pot cookies and 1 brownie. The incident occurred on November 30.

We’re told this occurred at a border patrol checkpoint.

Hammer spent 1 day in jail before bailing out on a $1,000 bond.

[From TMZ]

Armie comes from a well-to-do and powerful family, which might be one explanation for how this didn’t make headlines immediately. Except that I don’t think his family has much to do with him now that he’s in Hollywood? So my only other explanation is that people don’t really care about Armie Hammer, or about pot possession.

Also – this Texas town might need to get a grip with their drug laws, right?

Rihanna smokes blunts during her Hawaiian vacation: awesome or bad news?

I don’t really like to get into just how much pot I used to smoke back in the day because my mother occasionally reads this site. But let’s just say this – in my late teens, I had a regular dealer, and I considered him a personal friend. Let’s just say that I was working through some things for a few years. Let’s just say that gravity bongs are either incredibly awesome, of a tool of the devil.

With that in mind, here’s 23-year-old Rihanna getting high as a motherf—er in Hawaii over the past few days. She’s been photographed on two separate occasions smoking sizeable blunts. She’s been tweeting about getting high too – go here to read her Twitter, which is full of some musings that I don’t feel comfortable repeating.

On one hand, I do feel like “Leave Rihanna Alooooone!” She’s obviously on vacation, and she’s never lied about her love of getting hammered and/or high. I don’t think she parties any harder than liquor and weed, and I think many 23-year-olds have these kinds of private parties.

On the other hand… Rihanna is a role model to young girls, for better or for worse. It doesn’t matter if she puts herself out there as a role model, she influences young women regardless. What does it say to those younger people when Rihanna is smoking a blunt on a (public?) beach in Hawaii? Moms out there – does this offend you? For me – I just think it looks like a really amazing vacation. I wish I was smoking a blunt on a beautiful Hawaiian beach right now.

Blair Witch actress quit Hollywood to grow pot

Do you guys remember The Blair Witch Project? I know a lot of people say it wasn’t scary, but I saw it in the theater with friends and I was scared sh*tless. I knew the spoilers ahead of time too. The lead actress on that indie movie, 37 year-old Heather Donahue, has a new memoir out about how she quit Hollywood, which wasn’t that fond of her anyway, to become a medical marijuana grower in California. Apparently it’s sort-of legal if you follow certain guidelines, but it’s a gray area and growers and dispensaries have been busted by the feds.

The world got its first glimpse of Heather Donahue thanks to her role in 1999′s terrifying “Blair Witch Project,” but don’t expect to see the actress on the big screen anytime soon. She ditched acting to pursue a new career growing marijuana.

It may seem like an odd career choice, but it’s a decision Donahue hopes to profit from thanks to her new memoir, “GrowGirl: How My Life After ‘The Blair Witch Project’ Went to Pot,” which will be released Jan. 5.

Donahue explains her decision to quit Hollywood in favor of farming on her website.

“I wanted to change my life, see what else was out there for me, what else I might become,” she says. “So I burned most of the stuff from my life in LA (resumes, headshots, lingerie, lint) in the desert.”

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Donahue first received a prescription for medical marijuana in 2007 to treat PMS, and decided to cultivate the herb herself — mostly for medical use — for a year in “Nuggettown,” a Northern California community known for growing weed.

“I had no idea what to do next, and growing pot was what presented itself,” she says on her website. “I felt better about putting medical marijuana in the world than I did about about making another terrible movie.”

However, Donahue decided to leave her pot business behind in order to write “GrowGirl,” and admits she was put off after a fellow grower friend got busted.

As to whether or not she thinks pot should be legalized, she thinks medicinal marijuana is here to stay, but she would hate to see big business eradicate local growing communities.

“‘Cannabusiness’ has been a place that some people have been able to turn to in this tough economy,” she writes. “I’d hate for legalization to take that away. I’d hate to see corporations suck up large swaths of land and leave the mom-and-pop small time growers who have built this business no option but sharecropping.”

[From Huffington Post]

I get PMS too, sign me up. I’m from the east coast and I’ve always lived there, so I don’t know much about medical marijuana apart from what I’ve seen on TV and in brief visits to California. Pot is much less available here and it’s prosecuted quite heavily depending on where you live. On the west coast it’s a totally different world. I saw a documentary on Current.TV’s Vanguard called “The War on Weed” that contrasted the two coasts in regard to pot use and prosecution. It’s jaw-dropping how different it is. So this is interesting to me as a kind of anthropological study. The book has been getting good reviews too. This chick’s cheese moved and she followed it to her buzzed bliss. Donahue has since quit growing pot, though, after a friend of hers got raided. At least she says she’s quit. That’s probably the best stance to publicly take.

Elijah Wood: Marijuana should be decriminalized

wenn3435035
The last time we covered Elijah Wood, he was complaining that he couldn’t even smoke his cigarettes outside like a civilized person, and he pledged to politely refrain when he was asked. That story fueled a mild debate about whether air was “free” and whether smoking outside also impinged on the rights of non-smokers. Well now Elijah has chimed in on the issue of smoking pot. He claims he doesn’t personally smoke pot, but that his “friends” do and it should be decriminalized. I had to look up where Elijah is from, because I kind-of knew he was American but momentarily confused him with his fellow hobbit Dominic Monaghan, who is British. (That’s relevant because pot is decriminalized in England.) Elijah thinks pot should be decriminalized here, too:

Elijah Wood “wishes” he had a higher “tolerance” for marijuana.

The 30-year-old actor can’t understand why the drug is still illegal because he believes it to be “harmless” but admits he rarely uses the substance himself because of the side effects it produces.

He said: “I think the whole notion that marijuana is illegal is past the point of ridiculousness. It seems a little silly to be uptight about something that’s so natural.

“To be honest, I’m not really much of a pot smoker – it never really sat well with me. I’ve got friends that smoke and have smoked for years. I’ve always wished I could achieve that comfort and tolerance, but I have no tolerance for it whatsoever.

“But I’ve always been an advocate. I just feel it should be decriminalized. We’re spending taxpayers’ money on putting people away for something so harmless.”

The ‘Lord of the Rings’ star believes marijuana use is widespread in Hollywood and has become a “normal” part of life.

He told High Times magazine: “It’s gotten to the point where it just seems a natural part of people’s lives. It’s certainly not taboo; I know a number of people who have medical cards. People feel very free talking about it. It doesn’t seem to be hidden or shoved under the carpet. It’s part of people’s lives in a very natural way.”

[From High Times, Bang via CTV.ca]

I guess pot-smoking features heavily in Elijah’s FX series Wilfred, about a guy who interacts with a man in a dog suit who seems like a regular dog to everyone else. So that could explain why he’s commenting on it, or why someone asked him about that issue.

It doesn’t make sense to me that medical marijuana is only legal in certain states while very powerful and potentially more harmful and addictive prescription drugs are available all over the US. I agree that pot should be decriminalized and that it should be more readily available for medical purposes. I live on the East Coast, where we don’t see as much pot use because we can’t get prescriptions for it. I do see people I know getting addicted to Oxycontin though and that ruins lives much more than smoking up.

Elijah is shown on 7/13 at Heathrow airport and on 6/20 at an event. How adorable is he in those glasses? Credit: WENN.com

Justin Timberlake loves to smoke pot: ‘it gets me to stop thinking’

wenn3376133
Justin Timberlake has a new interview with Playboy Magazine in which he’s promoting… oh yes, Friends with Benefits. I forgot about that, since it seems like that movie already came out months ago. Kaiser reminded me of the last interview that we heard from Justin, with Vanity Fair, in which he called his ex girlfriend, Jessica Biel “the most special person,” and said he wished another ex Britney Spears the best but admitted that he hadn’t spoken to her in about 10 years. (He didn’t mention Cameron at all, another ex who actually stars with him in Bad Teacher.) US Weekly has some choice quotes from Justin’s Playboy interview, and it seems the most attention-getting are his thoughts on smoking pot, which he says gets him to “stop thinking” and turn off his brain. It has the opposite effect on me.

wenn3375854

Forget his talked-about love life. Justin Timberlake is coming clean about one not-so-secret vice: He smokes pot.

“Absolutely,” the singer-actor, 30, tells Playboy magazine when asked if he’s a pot-smoker. Why the weed?

“The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking,” the Bad Teacher star explains. “Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high.”

High or not, Timberlake says he’s ready to slow down and chill. “I feel I’m just getting to a point in my life where I’m looking around, going, There’s a lot to enjoy if I can just sit still, actually stop and take more time.”

Part of that time out means no new music on the immediate horizon for the platinum-selling singer. “I don’t have a single song ready to go,” admits the star, who hasn’t released an album since 2006 smash FutureSex/LoveSounds. “People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don’t know what to say. Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year but right now it’s not where it’s at for me.”

Maybe that switch from music to film is why he’s stuck around longer than other boybanders. “You always need to be learning something new,” he says. ” In whatever I’ve done, I’ve always looked at myself as a beginner. Hopefully I can continue to do that for the next 30 years as I grow into an older man.”

Since splitting with Jessica Biel in March after four on-and-off years together, Timberlake has been linked to Olivia Wilde, Ashley Olsen and Mila Kunis, to name a few boldfaced stars. He knows why he tends to romance fellow celebs, he tells Playboy.

“You probably gravitate toward people who understand your scenario. At the end of the day you just want someone who gets you, who can be a friend. That’s kind of the point of Friends with Benefits,” he says of his upcoming comedy with Kunis. “As corny as it sounds, the ‘friends’ part counts just as much as the ‘benefits’ part, if not more.”

How were those sex scenes with Kunis, anyway?

“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t completely awkward. I couldn’t tell you the number of people in the crew watching me and my bare a*s, but it was a lot.”

I haven’t smoked pot in over 15 years, and I barely did it when I was in college because all I would do is sit around and have “deep thoughts” that amounted to nothing and bugged the crap out of me. It made me think too hard and never get anywhere, so I stopped. Kaiser hasn’t smoked pot since college either, and she said it made her paranoid but that she got a decent buzz when she mixed booze and pot. I guess it does different things for everyone.

As for Justin’s lovelife and his “scenario,” what is it? That he needs to have something on the side at all times and his main piece is supposed to look the other way? The last we heard about Justin’s lovelife he was seeing Ashley Olsen. His people denied it, but then a source from Ashley’s camp told People Magazine they had “hooked up recently.” It sounds like Ashley didn’t get Justin’s “scenario,” which involves not crimping his style at all.
