Lord of the Rings heartthrob Sean Bean, 48, married his fourth wife today, British actress Georgina Sutcliffe, 29, at the Marylebone Register Office in London. The wedding was a small civil ceremony that was witnessed by just 15 friends and family. The two were set to marry last month, but called it off just 24 hours before the ceremony.

Bean and Sutcliffe reportedly met a little over two years ago at a bar in London’s Soho where Sutcliffe was working. Bean has three daughters from previous marriages, Lorna and Molly, from his second marriage to actress Melanie Hill from 1990 to 1997, and Evie Natasha, from his third marriage to his Sharpe co-star Abigail Cruttenden that lasted from late 1997 until 2000. Victoria and David Beckham seem to have one of those rare celebrity marriage that appears to be pretty stable. Though the two have weathered a few storms (accusations have occasionally popped up regarding David’s possible cheating on Victoria) all and all they seem to be pretty solid. This could be because they have a lot in common – an intense passion for shopping and acquiring “stuff,” sticking their names on various perfumes, buying houses, and being seen at trendy events. I didn’t say it was a deep relationship. But it seems to work pretty well for them. The Mirror and The Daily Mail are reporting that their relationship is stronger than ever, and the pair secretly renewed their wedding vows.

David and Victoria Beckham have secretly retaken their marriage vows – and got matching tattoos to celebrate the romantic occasion. Only a handful of friends and family were invited to watch them remarry in the grounds of Beckingham Palace. One said: “We were in tears. It was beautiful and very non-showbiz.” The couple marked the big day by tattooing the ceremony date on their wrists in Roman numerals.

Romantic David Beckham arranged his secret second wedding to Victoria without even telling her – springing the surprise on the big day itself. He flew her to their sumptuous Beckingham Palace estate then went on one knee to pop the question for a second time. Stunned Posh gasped: “Yes!” – and the couple were soon retaking their vows attended by sons Brooklyn and Romeo as page boys and watched by a handful of close friends and family.

The Mirror reports that they took a second honeymoon together in Paris, and David took Victoria shopping at her two favorite stores, Azzedine Alaia and Colette. He told her to pick out whatever she wanted as a second-wedding gift. While that’s really sweet, I think what’s more special is all the work and thought David put into it. A guy planning a whole quasi-wedding ceremony on his own? And managing to keep it a secret from his wife? That’s a pretty big deal, and it sounds like Beckham put a lot of care and thought into trying to make it as special as possible.

A lot of people think it’s tacky to renew vows, since a couple already had a wedding and all. Frankly I think that – considering how many marriages end in divorce or fall into a state of unhappiness – there’s much worse things than celebrating your successful union, and loving your spouse so much that you want to do it all over again. It sounds like this was a very thoughtful tribute to their relationship and the life they’ve created together.

Star magazine is reporting that Britney Spears secretly wed paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib last month during their brief trip to Mexico. Star claims the couple had the ceremony at Rosarito Beach, and have a source who has seen the wedding documents. While it sounds impossibly crazy, that doesn’t mean jack in the world of Britney Spears. In fact, the more impossibly crazy/totally ridiculous something sounds, the higher the likelihood that Britney Spears actually did it. Walked around a clothing store naked? Sounded crazy, turned out to be true. Held her own kid hostage? Sounded crazy, turned out to be true. Killed a turtle so she could wear its shell as a hat? Sounds crazy, but I bet we find out she’s done that too. So while it sounds totally and completely crazy to run off to Mexico and secretly get married, you never know.

Really, the only logical explanation for Britney Spears’ wild jaunt to Mexico last month was that she was going to get married, but it took Star magazine to connect the dots.

The glossy says she “secretly wed” lens-lizard Adnan Ghalib during the visit – which is legally meaningless, as he has not yet divorced his previous wife, AzLynn Berry.

Star ed Candace Trunzo tells me: “Our source on this was not in Rosarito Beach at the ceremony, but is very familiar with the fact that [wedding] documents exist.”

More interestingly, the mag says Spears gave Ghalib $250,000 to grease AzLynn’s exit. She allegedly told her lawyers, who had imposed a grand-a-day spending limit, that she needed the cash for a new Mercedes.

Britney does have a bit of a history of getting married impulsively. There was the 55 hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander. Oh, and the wedding to K-Fed, when all the guests thought they were coming over for an engagement party. So running off to Mexico in a not-quite-entirely-thought-though plan to get married doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility for Britney Spears. AzLynn Ghalib finally filed for divorce from Adnan on January 18th, so there might be some truth to this story. Since the marriage isn’t legally binding, it wouldn’t matter a whole heck of a lot either way. But Britney Spears being in a marrying state of mind is never a good thing. Run, men, run and lock your doors!

Gary Coleman got married, to 22-year-old Shannon Price, in a secret ceremony on her birthday after she proposed to him. The couple met on a film set in 2006, and married on August 28th of last year. Here’s what they have to say about their secret marriage and the way they fight and can go a full week without talking to each other:

On their height difference:
Coleman, who is only 4’8” tall, admits that this is the first “romantic relationship” he has participated in. “I never got the opportunity to be romantic or feel romantic with anyone…I wasn’t saving myself, she just happened to be the one.”

Price, who stands over 5’7” tall, tells Inside Edition height was never a factor in their relationship. “He was ten feet tall to me because he was sweet and I really liked his personality. That doesn’t really matter to me.”

On the age difference:
Coleman says, “I don’t have issues with age, I have issues with intelligence…She’s more intelligent then I am and that’s what matters to me.”

Their courtship:
Price says, “He was really sweet and I didn’t know who he was. I didn’t grow up with Diff’rent Strokes. I actually didn’t like watching TV when I was younger.”

The wedding:
The couple married secretly on August 28, 2007 on a Nevada mountaintop after meeting on the set of one of Coleman’s movies. The ceremony was extremely intimate. Coleman says, “Nobody was around but the minister, preacher, the videographers, the photographer, the helicopter pilot and us. That was all that was there. There was nobody else.”

Price, who actually proposed to Coleman, tells Inside Edition he surprised her with their wedding on her 22nd birthday. “I didn’t know that I was going to be in a helicopter ride and seeing the Grand Canyon and getting married in the Valley of Fire. I had no clue,” says the blushing bride. “I mean I knew that we were getting married, but I thought it would be just a little chapel.”

On the secrecy of their marriage:
The couple also shares the reason they say they kept their marriage a secret. Price says, “I just want my own identity as well because I don’t want to be known as Gary Coleman’s wife.”

Her proud husband agrees. “I wouldn’t want that in a million years. I wouldn’t want you to be known as Gary Coleman’s wife. I hope you do get successful. She’s a great eBay-er. She’s a fabulous eBay-er. I hope she gets famous for that.”

The dynamic of their relationship:
Price describing the relationship as “off and on.” “We may go a week and not speak to each other, but that’s because you’re thinking and mulling things over,” says Coleman.

Price explains, saying, “Yeah, I’ve locked myself in a room and stayed there because I’m like, ‘You know what? I don’t even want to fight over this, its ridiculous.” Price admits on several occasions the fights have gone beyond yelling. “He lets his anger conquer him sometimes, I don’t like the violence, I really don’t…He throws things around, and sometimes he throws it in my direction…He’s got to damage something before his anger stops.”

According to Price, she has had to call the police on several occasions. “He actually got a disorderly conduct ticket one time because we had gotten into an argument, just a minor argument in Provo. The guy gave him a ticket and he freaked out and he was on six months probation.”

WTF!?!? I know that domestic violence is a very personal issue, and what people consider to be domestic violence can actually vary, but this is domestic violence, right? Just because he’s throwing objects instead of punches doesn’t change it. Not to mention feeling so frightened you’re locking yourself in another room, you sometimes go days without talking, and you’ve felt the need to call the police ‘several times’.

In the article Shannon says that Gary undertook anger management classes, but on the morning of the interview he smashed their fax machine because it wasn’t working.

A secret wedding is also not a good sign. Shannon claims that she wanted to be seen as her own person, but fails to say what it is she does for a living besides selling Gary Coleman stuff on eBay. Was the wedding a secret because their families didn’t approve?

“American Idol” season five runner-up Katharine McPhee, 23, got married to her boyfriend of nearly three years Nick Cokas, 42, at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday. The pair never officially announced their engagement, though “sources” said they were engaged in November, and the pair were caught checking out wedding cakes in May. Several of McPhee’s fellow “American Idol” contestants attended the wedding, including Kellie Pickler and Mandisa.

“(Nick) is the love of my life,” McPhee gushed to PEOPLE. “This is a once in a lifetime occasion and everything is just perfect.”

McPhee wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown and Neil Lane jewels (diamond and platinum chandelier earrings and diamond and platinum bracelets), while Cokas wore an Armani tuxedo. Fellow season five Idol contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa were among the 305 guests on hand for the nuptials.

McPhee and Cokas met in 2005 when they performed in a Los Angeles theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Their union began as a friendship and blossomed when McPhee auditioned for American Idol later that year.

The two quietly got engaged last year when Cokas presented her with a custom-designed round brilliant cut platinum and diamond engagement ring.

The service was 45 minutes long and included a gospel choir. Katharine’s bridesmaids wore floor-length pink dresses, and the church was filled with peach, white, pinks, and purple roses along with pink cherry blossoms and green hydrangeas. It sounds like they went all out. I really hope we get to see wedding photos soon. I’m sure Katharine made a gorgeous bride.

Though Katharine’s husband Nick Cokas is 19 years her senior, he’s definitely not her sugar daddy. He’s a broadway actor who also founded a small production company. Though Katharine seems a little on the younger side for getting married, they’ve been together long enough, and they always seem happy when they’re photographed out and about. Congrats to them both!

French President Nicolas Sarkozy, 53, married his girlfriend of only three months, former supermodel Carla Bruni, 40, at the Elysee Palace today. The Elysee is the official residence of the President.

The pair tied the knot at a low-key, civil ceremony conducted by the mayor of the Paris district that houses the president’s grandiose official residence.

“I married two voters … who live at 55 Rue du Faubourg St Honore,” Mayor Francois Lebel told Europe 1 radio, giving the official address of the Elysee. The bride was wearing white and was ravishing, as usual,” he said, adding: “The bridegroom wasn’t bad either.”

Another official told Reuters the wedding took place at 11 a.m. (5 a.m. EST) and Italian news agency ANSA quoted Bruni’s mother, Marisa Borini, as confirming the event. Sarkozy and Bruni indicated last month that they planned to marry after a whirlwind romance and made clear that it would be a private affair, far from the eyes of the press.

The wedding was short, lasting only about 20 minutes. There were only 20 people there, mostly family and very close friends. The last head of state to marry in office was Napoleon III. Sarkozy has only been divorced from his second wife for a few months after they separated last October. Reports were that he took the divorce very hard. His colleagues said he was deeply upset by the divorce. He and Bruni started dating in November.

The two have garnered a lot of press – and a lot of criticism – over the course of their short relationship. Anytime a political figure dates a model or actor, a lot of people are going to talk. But the popular opinion was that Sarkozy was spending far too much time focusing on his relationship with Bruni when he should have been spending more of it on the nation’s business. It’s thought their marriage may actually make things easier for Sarkozy, since Bruni is now the first lady and will join him on official trips.

Last year Bruni told Figaro Madame magazine “I’m monogamous from time to time, but I prefer polygamy and polyandry.” Apparently that preference doesn’t hold when you’ve got the chance to marry the President of France.

Julie Christie, who is currently nominated for an Oscar for her role as an Alzheimer’s patient in the film “Away From Her,” has reportedly married her long time partner, journalist Duncan Campbell, in a secret ceremony in India. The couple have been together for 28 years. The Daily Mail reports Julie’s older brother, Clive, confirmed that the couple participated in a ceremony, but didn’t give much more information:

Clive Christie, a retired university lecturer from Aberystwyth, 40 miles from his older sister’s farm in Montgomery, mid-Wales, confirmed yesterday that the wedding had taken place.

Asked whether he attended the event, he replied: “No, we didn’t have any involvement.”

It is not clear what form the marriage took. If it was in a register office, it would be recognised in Britain but a religious ceremony would have no legal effect.

Julie is most famous for her roles in “Dr. Zhivago” and “Shampoo,” and is regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses of her generation. She won an Oscar in 1965 for her work in the film “Darling.” She famously dated Warren Beatty in the ‘60s, starring with him in “Shampoo.” Shortly after that relationship went sour, Julie virtually disappeared from the public eye, leaving Hollywood and taking small roles in foreign films or television. Her career started heating up again in 1997’s “Afterglow,” for which she received a Best Actress nomination. Julie has often said that she would never get married, because the ideals of marriage don’t fit in with her “hippie” ideals and free spirited lifestyle. But it seems she’s changed her mind.

We’ve heard plenty of embarrassing stories about what went down in the bizarre pseudo-wedding ceremony between Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds. There have been several reports that their families bickered like crazy. The stories ranged from everything from their mothers going at each other to their kids bickering fiercely. According to the National Enquirer, Tracey and her family all thought they were better than the Murphy’s, and Tracey accused the entire family of being “too ghetto.”

“The families hated each other from the beginning,” a close family friend told The Enquirer. “There were actual screaming matches between relatives.” And it didn’t take long before both Eddie and Tracey were knee-deep in the fray. “Eddie told Tracey that she and her family should stop with the superior attitude, and she fired back criticizing his kin for being too ‘ghetto,’” continued the friend. “Eddie bit his lip thought the entire ceremony – he was steaming about the low blow.

The Enquirer also says the real problem was Tracey’s money-grubbing family.

“The entire wedding was a fiasco, and it brought to light just how incompatible Tracey and Eddie really are.” Things went from bad to worse after the ceremony, when Tracey and her family members seemed more interested in striking business deals than the wedding, says an insider. “Her mother was pressuring Eddie to buy a new multimillion-dollar Malibu mansion with her as the Realtor – so she’d get the whopping commission. “Then her brother, who’s [sic] a rep for a watch company, put on a full-court press to get Eddie to serve as spokesman for his line.”

Apparently the biggest problem was Tracey’s brother Michael. According to the anonymous insider, Michael brokered some deal with Jimmy Choo that required getting a bunch of pictures of the bridesmaids in Choo’s shoes, and Michael turned into a bit of a diva in his attempt to make sure the Choos got enough photos.

“Everyone in Tracey’s family, including Tracey, seemed to be trying to work a deal around the wedding and Eddie’s celebrity. And he saw greed instead of love,” said the insider, and eyewitness. “Tracey’s brother Michael was by far the worst of the group. He’d obviously cut a bunch of deals on the side. For instance, the bridesmaids were a walking advertisement for Jimmy Choo shoes. Michael was ordering the wedding photographer to make sure he got all the trademark clothing in the shots. And he was coaching the guests on how to pose in photos. Michael was saying: ‘The Choos! Remember to get the Jimmy Choos in the pictures or else we won’t get our free shopping spree!’” That was the final straw for Eddie.

That sounds like a pretty contrived quote. “Remember to get the Jimmy Choos in the pictures or else we won’t get our free shopping spree!’” Who talks like that? I’m going to assume it’s paraphrased. Unless Michael was saying it in jest. Seriously, if that’s true it’s super tacky. The story is pretty biased towards Eddie Murphy, so it should all be taken with a gain of salt. Murphy has long been reported to be a domineering control freak, so I find it kind of hard to believe that he’s the innocent victim in all this. It sounds like he and Tracey were definitely a bad match. In the scheme of things, it sounds like they really narrowly avoided a big disaster. How much closer can you get than marrying the wrong person but not making it legal? According to E! News, Tracey’s been all over Sundance having a wonderful time. So it looks like everyone managed to escape unscathed.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have been pretty quiet about their five-year relationship from the start. It’s also been rumored for at least the last four years that the two were about to get married. Now several media outlets are reporting that they already exchanged vows at Giorgio Armani’s Paris home over the Christmas holiday. It seems that the best evidence is a lot of information from “insiders,” and the fact that they both returned home with matching tattoos on their ring fingers of the Roman numeral IV. Considering how long they’ve been together and Beyonce’s frequent statements about wanting a big family, this could very well end up being true.

She may have some of the most diva-ish demands on the circuit but friends claim Beyoncé Knowles has wed long time love, Jay Z, in a low key Paris wedding. Insiders say the couple finally tied the knot during a romantic break in the French capital, claiming they are now ‘blissfully happy’. One source says the pair both tattooed personal inscriptions on their wedding fingers to mark the ceremony.

They ‘Didn’t want all the attention that usually follows them around, they just wanted it to be intimate and romantic. It was lovely and they are both blissfully happy. They thought the tattoos would be a lovely personal touch’, the insider reveals.

I would love – just for once – if an “insider” would reveal their true identity. It really would be cause for a celebration. The “insider” was right about the tattoos, so there might be a chance they really did get married. Considering how low-key they’ve been about their relationship, it would make sense for that same mentality to apply to their wedding. On the other hand, it’s hard to imagine someone with Beyonce’s diva reputation not doing it up really big and splashy.

The Sunday Mirror is reporting that Beyonce might already be pregnant. I can’t really spot a visible bump, but I don’t claim to be an expert in that department.

Since her secret wedding last month, Beyonce Knowles has been glowing even more than usual. And friends are suggesting the marriage isn’t the only thing she has kept under wraps. Sources close to the Crazy In Love singer have hinted there could be double celebrations – as she and husband Jay-Z get set to have their first baby.

A friend said: “Beyonce is giving nothing away. She’s always been close to her parents and open about wanting a large family of her own one day.” Beyonce, who starred in the 2006 hit movie Dreamgirls, once said in an interview that she wouldn’t pressure her children to become singers. She said: “We’ll let our children make their own decisions. What if they are tone deaf? You never know.”

The friend added: “Beyonce and Solange have been brought up with strong Christian beliefs. Part of that belief is to be married before having children.”

Of course Beyonce’s rep gave the old, “We don’t comment on private stuff” line. Which always makes me wonder exactly what it is they’re paid to do. Probably just to tell the rest of us they have nothing to say. Beyonce and Jay-Z have been together for so long – and the marriage/baby rumors have been swirling for almost as long – that it’s hard to guess if/when they got married. They seem pretty happy and stable in their relationship. Jay Z recently stepped down as the president of Def Jam records. He said that he was going to focus more on his other endeavors – maybe starting a family is one of those.

Amy Winehouse is planning to renew her wedding vows in what is described as a ‘low-key ceremony’ – probably because how highbrow can you make a ceremony that is going to take place in prison?

Amy’s less-than-charming husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently in prison serving time for attempting to pervert the course of justice and grievous bodily harm (GBH). Blake is also accused of attempting to bribe James King into dropping the GBH charges.

Amy is planning to visit Blake on Friday and the couple will reaffirm their commitment to each other in a low-key service.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “When Blake was first arrested, they both declared their undying love for each other and promised each other it would be good to renew their vows. And the time feels right to do that now. They are missing each other terribly.

“Amy wants them to repeat the same vows they took when they married in Miami last May.”

Stuff

Amy is said to be concerned about Blake’s fragile ego, and feels he needs a boost before his January 18 court hearing. I suspect that Blake would prefer some kind of chemical boost from, say, heroin, rather than a morale boost.

While Amy and Blake are clearly crazy in love, emphasis on ‘crazy’, I can’t say that renewing my wedding vows while the large man who’s been having sex with my husband in prison looks on is my idea of romantic.

Amy is currently hiding out on the island of Mistique in singer Bryan Adams’ house. He’s no longer a rocker but turned to photography, did you know? Did you care? I suspect that the Carribbean is lovely at this time of year, and also that Amy is very happy to be as far as possible away from the London police department.

Amy is said to be attempting to kick her drug habit while staying in Mystique.
