Both Matt Leinart and Britney Spears ditched Paris Hilton after screwing around with her for a few weeks. Their people advised them that being linked with Paris would hurt their respective careers. Leinart was celebrating his draft into the NFL this spring when he met Paris while partying it up in Vegas to celebrate. Once he went off for training, his teammates in the Arizona Cardinals are said to have told him to stay away from Paris.

Britney was seen spreading her legs all over town in the company of Paris last month, but Britney broke it off with Paris and told her that she has decided not to be seen in public with her for the time being. Paris is said to be calling her “the animal” since Britney is all instinct.

It’s not surprising, then, that Leinart and Spears two were seen flirting and giggling while out at a club in Scottsdale, Arizona recently. They were probably comparing notes:

Leinart and Spears also have something else in common. They both have young babies at home. Britney’s mystery second child, Jayden James, was born in September while Leinart just had a child with University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron at the end of October.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and her family spent the week between Christmas and News Years at an exclusive resort in Los Cabos , Mexico. The former stars of Friends and the pop music singer spent a relaxing week in the sun along with Courteney’s husband, David Arquette, and their two and half year old daughter, Coco:

Both Jennifer and Courteney have vacationed in Los Cabos before.

Aniston recently beat out her nemesis, Angelina Jolie, in a Parade magazine poll of best celebrity bodies. Aniston came in second to Jessica Alba, with Beyonce in third. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were voted top celebrity mother and father.

Advance buzz on Cox’s new show on the FX Network, Dirt, is mixed. Cox plays a ruthless tabloid editor with conspirators that include a schizophrenic paparazzo. Some reviewers claim the show isn’t fun enough and can drag at times. Dirt premieres Tuesday night at 9:00 PM.

Britney’s fake hair has changed color yet again to blonde. The pop singer was out last night at Pure Nightclub, and she was paid six figures to host a New Year’s party where she didn’t even perform.

She looks decent, but her dress is hiked up way too high as usual. If Britney wants to make a comeback, people say she’ll have to quit baring her assets and start acting humble while she focuses on her music.

Spears has circled 2007 as her comeback year, but, two years removed from her last hit, “Toxic,” it’s not clear that the former pop queen will be warmly welcomed back to her throne. Or as Mitch Schneider, publicist for David Bowie and Aerosmith, put it: “I think that waking up on the morning of Jan. 1, 2007, as Britney Spears is not an easy thing to do.”

Given how reluctant she is to take advice, I’m not really sure she’ll be able to pull off a comeback at this point. It’s hit or miss with Britney lately, and she did so much damage by showing us her punani four separate times in a week that I’d say she’s over.

Keith Urban was on vacation from rehab when he joined his new bride Nicole Kidman in their native Australia for Christmas. Everyone thinks they’re going to be the next celebrity couple to call it quits since their brief marriage has met multiple challenges from accusations of infidelity to Keith’s very public alcohol addiction. Now Keith is back in treatment and it’s unknown when he’ll be released. His publicist says this is to be expected while someone is in recovery:

His publicist, Paul Freundlich, told the Associated Press of Keith’s Christmas vacation: “This is a natural occurrence at this point in his treatment.

“He will continue with his rehab upon his return.”

The Mirror is reporting that pop star Robbie Williams has urged Nicole to stand by Keith in his time of need, but I’m not really sure that’s true.

News came out right around Christmas that a 23 year-old “model” claimed to have been dating Urban up until a month before he married Nicole. A picture was published of her posing with Urban, who she claims was drunk or on drugs throughout their entire two year relationship. People say that the picture isn’t recent and calls the woman’s story into question as it shows Urban with a tattoo on his wrist that he had altered in 2005.

I’m not buying this latest wedding rumor about Kate Moss and Pete Doherty. The worlds most famous “chav” couple partied it up for New Years in Phuket, Thailand with Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York and her family. There was an earlier story that they were going to get married between Christmas and New Years, and now a British paper is reporting that they’re planning a beach wedding to take place today, and that employees of the resort where they’re staying are in preparation for it.

Kate Moss is planning to marry her drug-addict boyfriend Pete Doherty in Thailand, reports suggested last night.

As the New Year dawned on the island of Phuket, there were persistent rumours that the 32-year-old model was about to wed.

An insider at the Amanpuri Hotel said: ‘Senior management at the hotel have been told that the couple are having a romantic, bohemian- style beach wedding. Family and friends have been invited.’

Kate Moss and Sarah Ferguson are unlikely friends after they met up last month to talk about a potential modeling career for Sarah’s daughter princess Beatrice, 18. Beatrice and Kate might have more in common than modeling aspirations, as Beatrice and her sister Eugenie, 16, trashed their mother’s mansion this spring with a drunken teen party.

Pete Doherty is on two years probation for multiple drug offenses that would probably get him years in jail in the states. He is able to travel despite his long record due to his status as an entertainer. The Sun reminds everyone that Thailand is known as an easy country in which to score drugs, which may explain Moss and Doherty’s vacation there.

I don’t know if I really give a shit if Doherty and Moss get married. They’d have to have a baby at this point to catch my interest - not that I’d wish that fate on an innocent child just so I’d have something to gossip about.

Lindsay Lohan is desperate for any kind of publicity. She recently danced with strippers at Scores nightclub in an apparent attempt to apologize for calling strippers “whores” in an e-mail she sent that was published by gossip rags. Her more likely motivation may have been to drum up some interest in her fading star. Lohan has crystal-encrusted handcuffs hanging from the rearview mirror of her car and comes off as a general attention whore.

She is supposedly staying sober and drinking Red Bull while she hits all the nightclubs. She readily admits to attending AA meetings, but the group recommends that members protect their sobriety by changing your lifestyle and staying out of the bars if possible. I wish the best for Lindsay, but it seems to be a matter of time before she falls off the wagon - if she is indeed staying sober. Word is that she asked a bartender to fix her a favorite martini as her reward for a week’s sobriety. A week is something, at least.

Will 2007 see Lindsay in rehab? I hope whatever happens, she has the sense to stay out of the spotlight for once. It’s doubtful that the new year will bring any drastic changes in her sad life, though.

Paris Hilton balances her partying with a lot of paid appearances where she generally appears put together, albeit haughty and totally detached from reality. Lindsay just seems to hang out and beg people to pay attention to her. Even when she tries she still looks sloppy and tired. I kind of stopped covering her toward the end of last year, and I predict that the new year will see her star fade even more. She may be staying periodically sober, but she’s still the same old dirty party girl, and that’s pretty depressing.

Jessica Alba and her longterm boyfriend, Cash Warren, are in Miami for the holiday. They were seen on the beach in cute green print outfits. Jessica shows why she was voted as having the hottest female celebrity body in a Parade Magazine reader poll.

Despite fan approval, Alba is self conscious about her body and recently said that she wishes she was thinner.

Alba was also voted top fantasy female New Year’s date, with Scarlet Johansson coming in second. Johnny Depp was the top fantasy male New Year’s companion.

I guess that report I was making fun of this morning was accurate, because The Daily Mail reports that Kate Moss and Pete Doherty really did get married on the Thai island of Phuket today. I won’t be the only one pointing out how apt the name of the location seems to be.

There is no word as to whether the wedding was legal or just a Anna Nicole-style play ceremony, but speculation is that it was real since her family and personal assistant were there. It would serve Kate right if her junkie husband ended up with half of the assets she’s earned for selling stuff by being skinny.

Kate Moss has married her drug addict fiancé Pete Doherty in a private New Year’s Day ceremony on the Thai island of Phuket.

The couple exchanged vows before a select few friends and family members in a forty minute ceremony held at their six star hotel villa overlooking the sea.

News of the wedding has sent shock waves through Miss Moss’s circle of friends concerned that a legally binding union may give the poverty-stricken heroin and crack cocaine addict the right to half the estimated £25 million fortune Miss Moss has amassed during her extraordinarily successful 16-year modelling career.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the wedding was a Thai Buddist-style ‘marriage blessing’ or a formal legal wedding, the latter of which is often tied up in weeks of beaurocratic red tape. Thai Buddhist-style blessings conducted by monks are usually taken in conjunction with formal weddings in a couple’s home country.

The presence of Miss Moss’s personal assistant perhaps to help plough through beaurocratic red tape - and Kate’s mother Linda and brother Nick being at the ceremony in Phuket - are being seen as an indication that a formal legally-binding ceremony took place.

Kate and Pete have been lent a friend’s helicopter that will transport them to another Thai island for their honeymoon.

This is kind of shocking to me because I was getting used to the wedding rumors, and figured they’d eventually break up before making it official. These two are not known for their great decision-making skills and watching their trainwreck of a marriage will be amusing for a while. If they wanted the tax break they should have scheduled it for the end of the year, not the beginning. Maybe Kate is pregnant and that’s why they’re doing it now.

Depending on who you believe, Britney either passed out or fell asleep at a nightclub to welcome in 2007.

The Associated Press reports that Britney fell asleep at the hot Vegas nightclub, PURE. It has been reported that Brit passed out at Ceasars Palace’s PURE nightclub on New Year’s Eve. Britney was hired to host the New Year’s Eve festivities for the club.

I don’t know about you but I’m not sure I buy the “asleep” story. Here is a quote from her redneck manager as he denies the report that Brit collapsed.
“By about one o’clock, she was just done, so we took her out,” Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, told The Associated Press Monday. “She was not drunk. She was just tired and falling asleep.”

Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that he uses the term “took her out”? I realize I am not a pop star but can’t sleepy pop divas walk?

Larry-the-manager is just one more reason Brit needs a real PR guru.
