Just last week, People Magazine seemed to be setting the stage for Pete Davidson to cleanly exit out of his relationship with Kim Kardashian. The vibe, according to sources, was that Pete is being “as calm and cool as possible,” but he is deeply uncomfortable with Kanye West’s behavior, harassment and threats of violence. A source said, “This is not his scene. He’s a very cool and chill guy.” I thought, well, it’s been about six months or so, that’s around the time when Pete usually winds things down romantically, so maybe a split is imminent. But no? Instead of a breakup, Kim and Pete are now Instagram Official.
Aesthetically, I like these kinds of “IG Official” pics more than something super-posed, with a high-end photographer. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Kim really thought about how she wanted to do this and perhaps there were meetings and maybe even a bar graph or pie chart. But the vibe is “fun” rather than “now I’m officially rolling out my serious boyfriend.” I also think the timing is important – the photos came more than a week after Kim was declared legally single.
Of course, the timing is also notable because Kim desperately wants to change the subject away from the fact that she was being roasted online for 24 hours because of her comments to Variety: “I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f–king ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.” Who can talk about that when Kim is posting pics of Pete, huh??
Notably, these photos dropped more than 24 hours before Pete really went all-in with Kim, where he texted Kanye and was like “step up, dude.”
PS… If you’re wondering about that infamous Instagram of Kim, Pete, Flavor Flav and Kris Jenner from last November, no, Kim didn’t post that on HER Instagram. Flavor Flav posted it on his IG. So this is the first time Pete has appeared on Kim’s IG.

Pete was quiet this whole time, but now Pete’s “friend” leaked text messages between Pete and Kanye, where Pete sent Kanye a pic of him in bed saying he’s currently in bed with Kanye’s wife. He called Kim “Kanye’s wife”. I’ve lost respect for Pete. He’s loving the attention and drama as much as Kim is. He did this to help Kim out of the blacklash she got for the sh*tty “get your ass up and work” comment she made.
Cmon, people. We know this is all PR crap.

Honestly, all I could think about was how long it probably takes her to get ready. And then Pete just throws on something. If I was posting pics I’d want to look my best too, but this Monday morning it just struck me as exhausting. She probably enjoys the process but the kardashians must have to be so careful about not getting papped without the whole treatment. I’ll never forget the random pic of Kylie without her makeup. It makes me think of what the broadway actors for Cats prob go through when getting in costume.
