I told you it was on! Well, I had some doubts too, but I was coming down on the side of wanting there to be something there, just for the sheer hotness level. So guess who spent the holidays together? Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz! OH YES. As you may remember, Rachel split from her longtime partner Darren Aronofsky a few months ago, and the immediate rumor was that she and Daniel Craig had been boning while they worked together earlier this year. The British tabloids were all over it, and some unnamed sources “confirmed” their affair, and it was widely reported that Daniel had dumped his longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell at some point over the past few months. And now there are photos of Daniel and Rachel together! Like they are announcing their coupling! The photos are here, at The Daily Mail.
They were first linked together last month after she was said to be ‘smitten’ with her Bond co-star. But despite quashing the rumours they were an item, Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig will have trouble denying their romance now after they were snapped hand-in-hand during a cosy Christmas break together.
Pictures in the News of the World today show the pair, who star together in Dream House due to be released next year, laughing and holding hands while away together in Somerset. Craig, 42, and Weisz, 40, were pictured bundled up against the cold as they went for a stroll by the £1,000 a week cottage near Yeovil.
According to sources, they left the cosy bolthole on Christmas Eve and headed to the local pub.
An onlooker said: ‘Daniel and Rachel looked like a romantic couple in a film. They were laughing and hanging on to each other’s words and stopping to take photos of each other.’
And one fellow customer in the pub added: ‘They were clinging to each other like honeymooners. The chemistry was obvious.’
The pair, who have know each other for several years, were brought together to star alongside each other in Dream House, due for release next year. Weisz plays the wife of a New York publishing executive, played by Craig, who relocates his family to a town in New England only to discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her two children.
They were then romantically linked last month after Weisz split from her fiancé director Darren Aronofsky.
A source close to The Mummy star said she was ‘head over heels’ for Craig and added: ‘Rachel and Daniel simply sparked during the filming of Dream House in Canada. They have great chemistry. Darren’s such a good and responsible man, but Daniel’s the opposite extreme, he’s brooding and mysterious. Darren and Rachel have simply grown apart, they spent long periods away from each other, moving in different directions.’
And shortly afterwards, Weisz and Aronofsky issued a joint statement that said: ‘Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in New York.’
Craig got engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell two years ago after he proposed with a Cartier ring and said she helps keep him grounded.
He said: ‘I couldn’t get though it without her. You’ve got to have a sense of perspective and she gives me that.’
But recent reports have suggested that they have now split up, although Craig has yet to deny or confirm this.

I wouldn’t think Daniel would want any part of his private life out in the open, at all, but going to a pub and being affectionate with his jumpoff is an interesting development. Maybe he wants people to know that this is for real. Maybe it’s true love? As for Rachel… well, I’m kind of disappointed in her, even though I understand how a woman could throw away a stable relationship with the father of her child for a sex-filled romance with a brooding James Bond. Sigh…

Seems like Darren is being portrayed like the “good and responsible” parent, sounds like they’re trying to make Rachel look bad.
I get the feeling both of them were in unhappy relationships when they started falling for each other or may have already split up with their partners prior to this. I’ve never heard anything negative about Rachel Weisz so I tend to lean towards the latter.

So they split up with their respective partners to be together after they worked together eh? Interesting how people see this as “nice” and “hot”. No one is calling Weisz (or Craig!) a homewrecking so and so. Interesting indeed.
I’m pretty indifferent about the both of them so don’t care about this relationship either way, I just find it fascinating how the perception of the same set of circumstances can change from couple to couple.

I STILL wonder what this is going to do to her career…Darren directed her in The Constant Gardener (it was even re-written to accommodate her pregnancy with their child) and The Fountain, not to mention the other films I’m unable to name off the top of my head. He truly seemed to work in her best interest. Hmmm…

Seeer, I absolutely agree with everything you said. What makes them so different than other celebrities who have been beat to death for similar circumstances (Sienna Miller, for one). Craig is a manwhore. I don’t see how he gets it though, to me he looks like he’s been hit with an ugly stick one too many times. As for Rachel, I don’t see how she could not be with her child at Christmas. It all sounds very selfish to me, and I’ll bet my new refrigerator that they won’t last anyway.

Everyone is being so nice and giving them the benefit of the doubt despite the timing of everything. How not surprising.
I would wait to see cries of “homewrecker” and “cheater” from the public and media but I doubt there will be any. We won’t be mourning the loss of two couples breaking up with their significant others five years down the road.
Those double standards only apply to one couple.

I don’t understand the great couple comments. Why is it when some people have affairs they are great and others are evil? Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, etc are still loved even after their affairs. People still wish death to Angelina Jolie after almost 6 years.

As for calling him a homewrecker, Satsuki is nicely paid up and is a millionaire in her own right now due to the handsome payoff he gave her. He’s paid his dues to her and she accepted the terms. So surely Satsuki is just as bad then? If he did cheat on her, then she accepted the monetary apology, the $2 m New York apartment and some very expensive works of art.
But let’s face it, their whole relationship was really stalling for awhile now, he really didn’t look happy, he never married her after all this time (the wedding band was such a farce), whatever the rings meant they evidently meant zero in the end. He simply didn’t love her enough. Body language said it all in many pictures.
I’m happy that they didn’t have to divorce and a child wasn’t involved. Can you imagine what you all would say then?
I bet Daniel’s happy too about that. Could have been really cumbersome.

Yeah there is obviously a double standard in the media and in the gossip world. Angie/Brad will never live down the triangle.
That being said I reserve my contempt for the LeeAnn Rimes and the Courtney Arquettes out there. And wish these two the best I really think they tried their best to keep things out of the media for as long as possible.

I can’t understand how a parent could spend Xmas in England when they have a child in New York. Rachel looks good, but if you look at her neck, in the fourth photo, you can see the signs of her age which suggests that she’s had some work done on her face.

Aronofsky had nothing to do with Constant Gardener. CG was directed by the fabulous Fernando Meirelles. FM is also the director of magnificent City of God movie (about the infamous slum in Rio De Janeiro).
Aronofsky only directed Weisz in The Fountain. He’s not been involved with any of her other projects. I don’t think her career will be impacted by splitting from Aronofsky.

Sats stated to a UK paper via a source in 2005 that if ever Daniel cheated on her (this was after the Sienna affair) again, there would no second chances.
Maybe he did and she said it’s over.

She’s Jewish and her son was with his father, they don’t celebrate Christmas so she didnt miss it with her son. She was there for Hannukah and everything else important in the Jewish celebrations as well as as 99% of Henry’s life when he’s not with his father. Having said that, his father wouldn’t want his son around Daniel right now anyway.
As for Daniel, he’s allowing himself to be part of this, no-one forced him so stop focusing the blame entirely on Rachel.
Daniel knows she has a four year old and evidently it didnt bother him that Rachel was away from him.
Similarly he didnt spend Christmas with his 18 yr old. Still his only daughter no matter how old and they hardly see each other as it is.
They are two consenting adults and it takes two to f*ck and they wanted to do it over Christmas as well and be seen doing it.
As for Daniel’s age, then his birth certificate must be wrong.

Really, people. When couple separates/divorces it’s inevitable that they both start spending some of the holydays without their kid(s). It’s a fact of life. It’s especially unsensical to demand them to be spending it all together when they just went trough break up no matter how amicable it was. They are doing the right thing for the circumstances and they are quiet about it – no war in press etc. Leave them alone.

Rachel and Darren have been split for some time. When celebrities announce a break up, it is usually done and over with well before the official announcement. There is no proof that Rachel had an affair with Daniel before she separated from Darren.
