Princess Beatrice is thinking about permanently relocating to Italy with fiance Edo

Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon and Olympia d'Arco-Zinneberg are married

We actually haven’t talked about Princess Beatrice since April! It was mid-April when Beatrice and Edo Mapelli Mozzi formally cancelled their wedding, which was originally scheduled for late May. While the official word is that Beatrice and Edo have not rescheduled their wedding, there were reports around the same time that Bea very much wanted a big, splashy 2021 wedding to “bolster the nation’s morale,” post-pandemic. Yeah, we haven’t heard sh-t about that in two months, so at least Beatrice is getting slightly better at reading the room. Anyway, now that everything is shambolic and people are disgusted by her dad and her family has huge money problems following Jeffrey Epstein’s death (super-curious!), and her dad is minutes away from being named by Ghislaine Maxwell, is it any wonder that Beatrice daydreams about moving out of England?

Princess Beatrice and Edo Mapelli Mozzi are ‘considering a move to Italy’ because ‘the furore over Prince Andrew’s scandal’ has left the royal wanting ‘to start a new life’, a royal author has claimed. The Queen’s granddaughter, 31, is currently spending lockdown with Edo and future mother-in-law Nikki Shale at her £1.5 million country house near Chipping Norton.

Author Phil Dampier said the Duke of York’s daughter and her future husband were considering moving abroad, adding that ‘it wouldn’t surprise’ him if the couple did relocate to Europe. He told Australian site New Idea: ‘She has had to put up with a lot, having her wedding postponed, and also the furore over her father Prince Andrew and the Epstein scandal.’

Edo has ties to Italy as a descendant of an Italian noble family, while the expert said Princess Beatrice may be motivated by ‘a desire to get away from it all.’

Meanwhile he pointed out that Edo could run his multimillion pound property business from anywhere and Princess Beatrice is not a working royal and ‘desires to be happy’.

[From The Daily Mail]

I can only imagine the Top CEO hissy fit thrown by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge if Princess Beatrice “abandons” the Firm just like Harry and Meghan. After Harry and Meg left, there was a sigh of relief in Cambridge quarters because at the very least, they had Beatrice, Eugenie and Andrew to throw under the bus at a moment’s notice. But if Beatrice leaves, oh my God. We’ll have another round of stories about poor overworked and exhausted Top CEO Kate, having to Zoom extra hard after yet another royal woman left!

As for Bea and a potential move to Italy… she should do it. I’ve felt that way from the beginning too – I have no idea why Beatrice hasn’t packed it in and run off to Italy. She needs to just throw her wedding there and make a home for herself there. It’s the only way to actually get some distance from her toxic family.

I would! I would get one of those villas in a small village that they give you free if you fix it and live there. I would renovate my villa and sip rose on the terrace and read vintage paperbacks and learn Italian.

  2. square_bologna says:

Last senior royal out of England, please turn off the lights. 😉

Seriously, now poor William and Kate will have EVEN MORE WORK TO DO! The horror. The horror.

    • The Recluse says:

      Bahahahahahahahaha!!!
      Talk about Karma.

    • bamaborn says:

Lol! That was one of the worries. More so called “royals” would shuck it in and go for the independent life. Wonder if Betty will cut off any of her funding and take any little awards she may have earned?

  3. notasugarhere says:

Do we honestly think Edo is going to stick around if Beatrice isn’t living in Palaces and hanging out with the royal family regularly?

  4. 809Matriarch says:

No! Say it ain’t so! Won’t the elderly Queen and foot in the grave Duke of E be heart broken and devastated bc their blood princess granddaughter will be out of the country? How selfish! How dare she move away. So what if her daddy is a scandalous pedo perv! This could be Granny’s last year on earth. Smh. Double standards!

  5. Kate says:

Who pays for her lifestyle if she leaves? Does she have her own inheritance/ royal payroll or would they live off Edo’s business? Genuinely curious. I’d personally cut and run if i was her.

    • Ainsley7 says:

She has a job with a private company. Between that, Edo’s business, and being allowed freebies, they’re fine financially. Andrew allegedly gives her some money, she *might* have an inheritance (rumor has it that Fergie “borrowed” from both her daughters quite heavily), but she doesn’t get anything directly from the public. She’s not leaving the firm. She was never a working Royal. This is no different to when she had a job in New York and lived there full time.

I’m sure the ol’ QM left her a bit; but she’s waiting for DoE and Petty Betty to kick the bucket for the real bucks to come in, as I’m sure Edo is. In fact, I think it’s the ONLY reason he’s still hanging around. Ok…maybe still the aristo connections that he gets through Bea (that even with *his* “pedigree” from an old Italian family won’t buy him entry to.

Once Bea’s £££s are locked and loaded, so are his bags.

      • notasugarhere says:

From an article about the Queen Mum’s will. This was in 2002 money.

‘Of the trust fund, William and Harry are likely to share about £6m at the age of 21 – the bulk going to the younger son apparently to compensate for not becoming sovereign – and a further £8m when they reach 40. Princess Anne’s children Zara and Peter Phillips and Prince Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, together with Princess Margaret’s children, Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Chatto, will also receive bequests running into several millions each. ‘

    • notasugarhere says:

Andrew has a pre-paid lease on Royal Lodge Windsor that runs for 75 years which started in 2002. He paid £7.5 million in refurbishment and the Crown Estate decided that was enough, no rent required.

There is apparently no provision in the lease documents for this to be reviewed. Fergie, Beatrice, and Eugenie inherit the lease when Andrew passes. That means B&E can live there, rent free, until 2077.

  6. Mellie says:

Those girls need to GTFO out town, if they are smart, which I’m not sure any of the royals are exactly high in intelligence, but they’ve got see the writing on the wall!

    • Mara says:

Agree, this is why no-one aristocratic would marry William. Why would you take the hassle of the RF if you already have money and a title?

  7. S808 says:

I’m surprised they’re still together. Doesn’t his son live in the UK with his mother? I don’t see him being up for the move, tho the thought of another royal moving out of the UK would be funny.

    • Ainsley7 says:

His son lives with him most of the time actually. Beatrice has previously lived in NYC just like her sister. So, the move isn’t really a big deal. It’s just a PR article to try to gain sympathy for her in order to shut people up about Andrew. Richard Kay called Andrew out in an article yesterday. He pointed out that Andrew is actively ruining his mom’s reputation. Not exactly the best angle, but it explains the PR article today.

      • S808 says:

Ooh I always assume the mother has primary custody. I still don’t think having the child in a different country from a parents is a great idea if the move isn’t necessary, but they’re all rich so they could probably make it work. I’d take the option to leave for a few years tbh.

  8. maggi says:

In that family photo, all I can see is Sarah’s grasping fingers clinging to her daughter’s arm.
I would give Bea the same advice that I wish I’d been able to give myself at a younger age – RUN from your destructive family of origin as far and as fast as you can.

  9. julia says:

They look so much alike. It weirds me out. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’d run to the hills, run for my life away from the royal family too.

  10. Lizzie says:

She will be called brave and modern, not selfish. No one will be incandescent with rage or worry for the queen on a daily basis.
The phrase ‘Edo has ties to Italy as a descendant of an Italian noble family’ is weird. Does this mean he is not an Italian citizen?
Honestly I would move out of UK for awhile if I were either of these girls. Another article today PC says minor royals entitlements will be removed when he is king. So make a new life now while you are young.

  11. aquarius64 says:

This is a distraction story to gin up sympathy to House York. Andrew brought disgrace to both houses. If Gigi names Andy I can’t see Edo sticking around. Won’t be surprised if the Sussexes left for refusing to defend Andy.

  12. bluemoonhorse says:

M&H proved it could be done and opened the floodgate. Bea would be a fool not to seize the chance to live outside the limelight of the RR. Enjoy your life, girl and run, run, and run!

  13. TheOriginalMia says:

I think they’ll stay in England. Just because he’s an Italian count doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to live in Italy. This seems like the laziest story. Edo & Daria have a nice coparenting situation that allows Daria to travel for her job and have Wolfie live in their family home when she’s gone. Why change that up? Bea isn’t living with her parents right now. She is with her future in law. She could have chosen to stay with Fergie & Andrew. She could have chosen to stay within a royal property, but she is moving on with her life with Edo & Wolfie. They can live on their own without being involved with the toxicity that is the BRF.

  14. Esme says:

Ok, this explains the Sophie push. But I’m Italian and I wouldn’t advise anybody to move to Italy until we have a vaccine for Covid-19 at the very least. We were hit really bad. It’s not safe yet, I don’t think.

But she should really look into escape routes from her parents, they even threw her under the bus for the infamous interview… Run, Bea, run!

  15. Annabel says:

Good for her, but Italy’s too close. If I were her I’d be campaigning to relocate to, oh I don’t know, Australia or Japan or really wherever the absolute furthest point on the globe is from England.

    • FicklePickle says:

Technically, Antipodes Island, but it’s a nature preserve. Southern tip of New Zealand is the next closest landmass that people are allowed to live on.

  16. JanetDR says:

I’d certainly want to get away from all of it, but how can you with a child involved? Unless you’re heartless. Seems more like wishful thinking.

    • Nic919 says:

A court doesn’t usually favour uprooting a child to another country so this talk of moving to Italy only happens if the child stays with his mother in the UK. The best interests of the child take priority over Beatrice wanting to hide from the bad publicity her sex trafficker father is giving her.

      • anotherlily says:

There doesn’t have to be court involvement. Whatever arrangements they have they’ve organised amicably between themselves. The child has a full-time nanny. The father is based in London and the mother travels a lot so it seems they’ve agreed to have the father’s home as the child’s primary base.

      • notasugarhere says:

They move in and out of the home the couple used to live in together. Their son stays put in that home.

  17. Sunshine says:

Run Bea… don’t walk. King William will not work out well.

  18. Digital Unicorn says:

Does anyone actually think this wedding will go ahead?!?!? This is just a distraction for daddy.

  19. Lily says:

Run! And I hope Edo is with her for the right reasons and will not try to breakup with her to escape this total nightmare. I’d ne shaking if I was Edo and his noble family must be totally freaked

  20. Anne Marie says:

This is unlikely because I think Eddo is only there for the pageantry & the royal links! His baby mama is much prettier and successful entrepreneur/model/ philanthropist.. who comes from a wealthy family. I dont want to be cruel but I dont see them staying together for long. If they dont break it off, I dont see them lasting more than 2years.

  21. lemon8 says:

Jesus, I would move to Italy, or pretty much anywhere else, after all this drama. I am sure that she’s be able to find some kind of cushy gig wither her connections. Between that and any trust that she has she would be more than comfortable. Some distance from both of her parents would probably be healthy.

  22. Valiantly Varnished says:

    Do it Beatrice. Save yourself!

  23. Rose says:

Beatrice’s “apartment” at St. James Palace has four bedrooms and spans multiple floors. it is furnished magnificently, as befits a royal palace domicile. Her father reportedly pays $20,000 per year for her to live there, though a member of the public would pay $20,000 per month. That is probably the main reason why they will not relocate to Italy.

    • FicklePickle says:

That and the lease on Daddy’s sprawling royal mansion is prepaid up through 2077, and Fergie and B&E would inherit said lease upon Daddy’s death.
