Prince William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia has drawn mixed reactions, even from William’s loyalists and the royalist press. He had royal reporters traveling with him for the trip, and they sounded bored as hell. The Times even asked “William of Arabia?” and there was some mild criticism (for British standards) of William’s meetings with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aka Prince Bonesaw. It didn’t help that during William’s Saudi trip, his multiple connections to Jeffrey Epstein were front and center. MBS was tight with Jeffrey Epstein, and William is also close to an Emirate sultan who sent a torture video to Epstein. The sultan’s company, DP World, is a founding partner and contributor to William’s busywork project, Earthshot. Still, British royalists have mostly pulled their punches. But the Daily Mail’s Jan Moir just ripped into William in a new column. Someone’s about to get a furious call from Kensington Palace!
What the hell was Prince William doing in Saudi Arabia, scruffy in his suede boots and open-necked shirt, his lemon-faced presence giving legitimacy to one of the most repressive regimes on the planet? He loped about at the side of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman like a puppy, despite being aware that he was with a leader known for his authoritarianism and suppression of women’s rights activists, a man who is no stranger to controversy. It is no secret that MBS was implicated in the murder of exiled Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 but he – in the words of the phrase we have come to know so well in these scabrous times – denies any wrongdoing.
You can hardly blame William. He was there at the request of the British government, acting as a soft power ambassador to strengthen UK ties with one of our key allies in the Middle East. Such royal visits are the realpolitik of the diplomatic world and at least prove that the Windsors still have a value and purpose on the world stage – but for how much longer?
Speaking of shams, during his three-day visit to Saudi the Prince of Wales ignored repeated questions from reporters about the allegations surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and his links to William’s fetid uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
However, he won’t be able to keep up his trademark irritated silence for much longer, given that he has now been dragged into the Epstein abyss himself.
For it has come to light that Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem – another generous benefactor, a man who donated over £1million to William’s Earthshot Prize charity in 2022 – is also implicated in the Epstein scandal. The Emirati billionaire and chief executive of DP World – a company which controls 10 per cent of global container traffic – was a big pal of Epstein’s. In April 2009 the men were in cosy email contact when Epstein was still serving his 18-month sentence in a Palm Beach jail but allowed out on ‘work release’. This is how it went. Jeffrey emails his pal Ahmed: ‘Where are you? Are you ok, I loved the torture video.’ The torture video! How sickening. Both men also shared sex messages.
Is this just another example of the Royal Family not asking too many questions when delicious, fat cheques are waved under their noses? Or does it illustrate the incredible reach and stealthy influence of Epstein’s carefully cultivated web of rich and powerful contacts, the depth of which is only just becoming evident?
What is undeniable is that despite his ongoing diffidence, Prince William now has questions to answer about what he knew about Andrew and Epstein and what he knew about Sulayem and Epstein. It is a development that highlights the great Windsor faultline, the fracture at the heart of the monarchy which is the Royal Family and their abusive relationship with money – other people’s money.
Well well how the turntables!! As I’ve said before, William falling face first into the Epstein scandal wasn’t anything I could have predicted. There’s a sense of “if I go down, I’m taking you down with me” in the Windsor clan these days, right? There’s a steady drumbeat of terrible news and pressing questions about and for King Charles and Prince Andrew, and they’re making sure that the dipsh-t heir is in it too. It’s also sort of hysterical to think that this Saudi trip was supposed to be yet another setpiece in William’s “I wanna be a global statesman, king of handshakes” keenery. And just like everything else, it’s blown up in his face.

How come he never got help with fixing those teeth of his.
He does look scruffy with the beard and sloppy. Outfits.
I couldn’t agree more with Jan Moir, “open-necked shirt and scruffy suede boots” and full marks to her for having the good sense to remark on W’s appearance.
It was unacceptable in a British RF member, and an insult to his hosts. W doubtless felt empowered dressed down, his immaturity on full display. I was initially encouraged by his businesslike appearance on arrival in Saudi Arabia, shirt and tie and suit jacket buttoned up, but, no, he had to let his country down.
Fail.
I feel like he was copy-keening Harry’s standard uniform of a button-up shirt and suede boots.
I agree, but the effect is so different. Harry’s casual looks come off as rugged whereas William looks unkempt. I also think a big part of it that can’t be overlooked is AUTHENTICITY. One is dressing in a style true to themselves and conducting themselves in a way that feels genuine to them whilst the other…is pretending, doesn’t want to be there, has repressed emotions about everything he is doing. The same could be said about their wives (both clothing and what they exude in public).
Love this for the Windsors.
🎵The wheels on the (karma) bus go ’round n’ ’round, ’round n’ ’round, ’round n’ ’round…🎶
I love watching this train wreck, and nope… not sorry!
I love this for Willy after he destroyed Sentebale.
Also, did Jan have a personality implant? Or did she learn her obsequiousness is being mocked in JP Caonabo columns?
Ok, I spit out my coffee at “lemon-faced presence.” William will never set foot out of Forest Lodge again. And I imagine Liza Ravenscroft is editing her resume right now.
“Lemon-faced presence” was funny. But now I’m overthinking it, lol. Is it bc he’s got a sour-faced look or bc he looks like a lemon head, a lemon 🍋 face. Whew, either way, claws out, yikes.
Either way, it’s 🎯.
I think its hilarious because it works both ways. He looks like a lemon and he has a sour expression lol.
Just by looking at his photographs you understand a lot about the lazy and uninterested prince, feigned interest, manic personality, irony for everything he sees and trying in vain to hide his boredom – The most unsuitable future king of all times!!!!!
“ a company which controls 10 per cent of global container traffic” this made my stomach turn knowing that these containers are probably still being used to traffic human beings. This is who the Heir of the Monarchy gladly accepted money from.
Ugh. You’re right. That is horrific.
It’s being reported on Sky News (UK) that Sultan Ahmed has just resigned as head of DP following the revelations in the Epstein files. Apparently a large Canadian Pension fund has withdrawn its investment and also follows criticism from the UK government.
I hope this continues to kickback on Sir Lemonface the global statesman, the rota rats and spox are going to be busy I’m here for the show ….
This visit was an appalling choice on all levels. It really feels like the tide is turning and the royals are going to start facing real criticism and scrutiny in the press and by the public. None of the left behinds will handle a real, honest investigation into their financial and private lives. It hasn’t been enough to bleed the tax payers dry funding their extravagant livestyles. They have been using their positions and private knowledge to exchange perks and privileges from the worst of the worst on this planet. The constant fundraising for “charity” has always had a creepy quid pro quo element. No one “gifts” millions upon millions in vacations, cash, jewels and other “perks” without expecting anything in return AND collecting blackmail material to use later. The days of Willy viciously leaking lies about his brother and the jaded press gleefully covering all Willy’s faults are over. JAN MOIR! Please cover Willy’s at least monthly ski, beach, and yacht vacations funded by these monsters and why that is a massive conflict of interest. Willy hired that crisis manager for a reason. 🍿
Well, he’s going to stay quiet for the next 2 weeks at least bc he’s on vacation. Imagine he’s hoping it all dies down by then. But theres still more emails to be released right? So the drip continues.
He doesn’t look scruffy he looks like someone who’s been forced to dry out to visit a country where alcohol is forbidden. He looks rough AF!!!
Had not considered that, but it makes sense. He’s also too stupid to plan how to sneak alcohol for himself. Self shamed into white knuckling it.
Am I wrong in thinking if you’re staying at a fancy hotel as a foreigner there’s still some sort of access to alcohol? Or is it truly that dry?
From what I understand in Saudi its v v strict, only non Muslim residents can buy alcohol and they need a license to do so (they are also only allowed certain limits). Its not sold in hotels or restaurants to tourists either.
Qatar and the Emirates are less strict.
My late husband used to go to SA for weeks at a time on business. The British Embassy reliably served alcohol, so Peg could get a daily dose there if the tremors got too bad.
I have to imagine the embassy just stocked his hotel room for him then. I mean if it was requested.
I think alcohol is available to non-Muslim diplomats working in the country.
My understanding, from a friend who lived there, is that the most of the elite drink alcohol and would have it on hand to serve Scooter.
I had wine in Dubai as a tourist.
William took the Royal private plane there, so I’m sure it is well stocked. And I’m also sure there is a staff member whose job is to make sure that William has enough alcohol to function at all times….Wasn’t it rumored that when William took over Philip’s prized footman when Philip died, that one of his jobs was keeping the bar cart stocked in William’s many residences? Back when it was reported that William and Kate bonded over G&T at day’s end? (before we all pretended One Pint Willy was a lightweight)…
It’s not like anyone was sourcing heroin or other class A drugs for William. I’m sure alcohol is one of the easiest things to source in any country in the world and even if a country classifies alcohol as illegal for the plebs, an elite like William would have no problem having access to it
Well she did light into him but I disagree that he was”dragged” into the Epstein stuff. He knew who he was and what he was and still did take donations from those who were linked to Epstein. Stop trying to make him the victim but please continue to kick his ass in articles!!
They better figure out how they can get Kate to start doing royal tours again. William always looks awkward on his engagements. He is not a good representative for Windsor leadership and charisma. 🤷🏽♀️
They need Kate next to him for the distraction from his awkwardness and lack of charisma.
Question: Has the Windsor brand global ‘pizazz’ already faded?
She distracts with her bad wigs, jazz hands, and Meghan cosplay. I don’t think that helps diplomacy. She’s as much of an intellectual lightweight as her husband, if not more.
He role is to be the distraction. That’s what she signed up for when she married William. Her antics contribute to the distraction.
Don’t forget her jazz hands and her mouth always hanging open!
I agree. Keen with the face making and sometimes grabbing at scoots and he pulling away from her shows little dignity. He probably does not want her there.
She can’t keep her skirts down. Her ‘Marilyn Moments’ have always been a problem. The last one (the last straw?) was the ‘Scarlet Woman’ performance at the state visit of the South Korean President and First Lady. Two months later she was, allegedly, admitted to the London Clinic.
@MSJ I’d say Sophie Rhys-Jones, D of Edinburgh, is better paired with W for official work rather than KM. Didn’t it work well in the past, and W seem more relaxed and less strained with Sophie ?
You can’t tell me William had no clue about money from Epstein going to charities he’s involved in and Epstein’s besties. Nor that William didn’t have a say or knowledge of the decisions on Andrew because he’s the heir. Karma has come with a vengance for Billy Idle.
I think William knew about the deal to settle Andrew’s case, but I don’t think he had any say in it – with QEII still alive, this was above his pay grade. I haven’t read that Epstein money went to Earthshot – it was from a donor who was involved with Epstein in other ways. This info was only recently available, but whatever the case, I can believe William was clueless because he doesn’t read briefs, he doesn’t study or pay attention.
Agree the torture video connection only came to light recently. But it would be typical for a tycoon who runs one of the (the?) world’s biggest ports to have a shady history, and British security may have known stuff.
Of course William must have known about the Earthshot connection to Epstein – isn’t Jason Knauf the head of Earthshot now? Whose name is surprisingly left out of aaaaallll of the reporting on Epstein?
Jason will always be protected…
My thing is – let’s say that William had no idea of any of the bad things these people were involved with. he had no idea about MBS and Khashoggi or the sultan and his connections to Epstein or ANYTHING.
But then why the hell didn’t he know?? This is not a situation where plausible deniability really works. depending on when this money was donated in 2022, he was either prince of wales or very close to being so (since its clear they all knew how the late queen was doing health wise.) Who was vetting the donations to earthshot? who was vetting the people that William was associated with? Who was vetting ANY of this???
Either he and his team are the stupidest laziest people alive or they just didn’t care.
Both. Stupid and lazy, and don’t care. My guess is that he knows nothing about any of the donors to Earthshit–all he cares about was the bank balance. No one vetted the donations because in his mind, no one should care. He’s the star of the show. I’ll bet he doesn’t know a single thing about who won the prizes. The prize winners and their work are barely even discussed. All he cares about are the celebrities he flies to the global parties. That no one in the British media asks him about the prize winners and the impact of their work is an egregious and irresponsible dereliction of duty. I’d love to see him handle off the cuff questions about Earthshot from the media at an event. Harry could answer questions about Invictus off the cuff. I wouldn’t bet any money on William of Arabia being able to do the same thing.
William’s the guy who spent more money on the first award ceremony than all of the awards combined. After that, Earthshot was restructured as a separate non-profit and I can totally believe that William didn’t give the details another thought. It’s in keeping with his laziness, carelessness and stupidity.
If you look at the supporters of Earthshot, there are a lot of heavy hitters – including Bloomberg and Bezos. There was a scandal involving Aga Khan V and Justin Trudeau. Where there are billions, there is fishiness – when it comes to money they seem to have different standards than regular people and I can imagine how the intrusion of Epstein might not have rung any bells.
Maybe William can’t control the settlement happening in 2022 but he could control stuff like not being in a car with Andrew or icing out his own brother but making sure Andrew is sitting right there in the front seat as they head to the airport.
We all knew by 2022 that anything Epstein was nasty business. And Earthshot taking money from that sultan is his fault too. The charity should have run a sanction search against anyone contributing money. It is negligence that he didn’t.
So William does not have clean hands here at all.
And didn’t they tell us William was having regular meetings with MI6? This doesn’t make them look any better, either.
Well, that’s quite the about face for Jan and the DM!!! Perhaps they’re setting up to say I Told You So when it all comes to light. (More like, I Hinted!)
Or maybe BP is sparring with KP. Who the hell knows?! I seem to have lost my program… who does Jan usually represent?
Jan’s whole function is to criticize them. I’m honestly not sure how much of an effect her criticism has though since it seems to be the main purpose of her column.
And Jan lives for puffing up Kate ridiculously.
Does she? Hasn’t she been critical of her in the past? Especially the summer eve’s videos? I’m trying to remember but Moir and maybe Petronella Wyatt write these sort of scathing things. I think Moir did get a tone it down at one point and wrote something praise-worthy of Kate but it still managed to feel shady. I just feel like her role is to say what other’s wouldn’t say but are definitely thinking. And it’s mostly allowed bc she’s an opinion columnist known for being a snark. If the BBC was saying the equivalent it would be different. And she has been equally nasty towards the sussexes.
What’s wrong with him? Even his silence is irritated?..he definitely has anger issues never treated properly
Am I the only one who still remembers the News of the World video sting on Uncle Gary, where he reassured the journos he could deliver ‘fresh, young girls’ (Brazilian if memory serves).
Did he know Epstein too? Did he arrange ‘deliveries’ to royal residences? At the time everyone thought Kate was finished because of that, but how different it looks now.
Well spotted!
We haven’t heard a word about Uncle Gary in a long time, have we? I wonder what happened to that loose cannon who bragged about Kate’s skills. Ewww!
He was on celebrity big brother uk exactly when kate went missing and made a comment when asked about Kate that he was not saying anything until “an announcement was made” and lo and behold behold uncle gary got voted off the show.
Keep in mind this was weeks before Kate did the bench video and by her own timeline well before she was told about having had cancer present.
His comments hinted at a divorce announcement.
Thanks for the info, Nic.
They write these screeds so that people in the comments can scream them down about how “uninformed” they are. I wouldn’t put it past these journalists to write exactly what will inflame their “followers” (including bots they themselves pay to create), to make it look like the public supports him.
Taking a step back, any way you look at the situation William and his wife have some dismal prospects. The Harry and Meghan stuff is still floating around his orbit, and this Epstein/Saudi/what have you is a major problem to be on top of that. And even when they get to the top, their predecessors were Charles and Camilla with all their issues. The Waleses have chosen to divest themselves of the glamorous events that most royal-watchers care about which usually in the case of royals means focusing on other aspects of the Firm as it were (like in Spain) but they don’t want to or can’t fulfill that function. They emphasize the importance of bringing up their children normally but at this point the extreme isolation and formality imposed upon the children is not going to provide them any semblance of normality (Diana would take them to McDonald’s and stuff so that they could experience everyday life once in a while and have fun, whereas the Wales approach to these kinds of outings seems to be to close off a McDonald’s for their own personal use which begs the question of what is the point when they can already do that at home).
I think William also knows he could solve most of these issues with family outings made public, cheery public displays of good will, even just going to a regular sports game. And I think he also knows that if his wife chose to do more glamorous and regular appearances, any negative press would also calm down. And I think that irritates him the most because he has always expressed distaste for the public, he has said more than once that he feels invaded by them expressing love and grief for Diana because they were strangers, and he closes off almost every aspect of his life. That’s fine and understandable but it doesn’t coincide with prospects of success for his job, to put it bluntly (I don’t think the late Queen felt invaded by anyone expressing grief about her father’s passing or struggles).
KP and the press really owe Meghan an apology. William cozying up to MBS after using him to smear Meghan is just hypocritical and sleazy. As for Jan Moir piece, I don’t put much stock in it. It was published to give the DM deniable plausiblity. All the while the royal reporters enjoyed a joyride to Saudi Arabia and had no criticism for Wiliam meeting with MBS.
The 🔥 has definitely broke containment.
I, for one, expect to see the children wheeled out to shield them from being called out in public to answer questions of their culpability. It would be their usual form. Hope I am wrong about this for the children’s sake but……
Ah, but my guess is that William won’t maintain an “irritated silence” – at least, not if he can try to point the finger at his father instead. I think the story from yesterday about the senior royals all banding together to buy Virginia’s silence and settle the case was not an accident, nor was the fact that Charles was described as in the thick of it while the then-Cambridges were not mentioned. I expect other “friends of William” will start leaking that Charles has to take the fall and abdicate in order to save the monarchy, William will be a modern king and a breath of fresh air, etc.
This is quite the kicker: “It is a development that highlights the great Windsor faultline, the fracture at the heart of the monarchy which is the Royal Family and their abusive relationship with money – other people’s money.”
A-freaking-men.
They are greedy and grasping, and their immorality is finally biting them in the ass.
Kinda conflicts with being the future Head of the Church of England, doesn’t it? Their holier than thou hypocrisy is definitely breathtaking, isn’t it?
Truly.
BTW, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem has resigned earlier today as Chairman and Group CEO of DP World, the state-linked Emirati global ports and logistics company that plays a major role in international shipping and trade, because of his involvement with Epstein.

Good to see the kind of company Bulliam keeps…
Wondering here how the rota 🐀🐀🐀 will try to explain away the relationship between Keenshot Earthflop and DP World now.
As another poster reminded me, this is the same guy who gave Elizabeth earrings during a private lunch, and Liz later passed them on to Meghan . . . and the British tabloids turned that into Meghan’s crime. Yet William could take $1 million from him (AFTER the hate thrown at Meghan), and it’s somehow ok?
That whole family is dirty.
Everything in Jan Moir’s article is chef’s kiss, except the line, “You can hardly blame William.” Hell, yes, I and many other people do and will blame William. He is the next king of England. Don’t tell me he did not know any or all of this. He SHOULD know and probably does, but is keeping up the sham of plausible deniability. William, you are and will forever be embroiled in scandal, at least till the end of your life (if not longer).
This is an aside, but a juicy one: I just read that Bobby Kennedy (as his deceased cousin called him) just admitted that he used to snort cocaine off of toilet seats. Oh so glamorous! Perhaps that is part of his brain rot and personality/values rot.
That scruff in his face has not changed in years.
Is W incapable of growing a full beard?
If this is a whisker growth issue and unlikely to change, he should shave his face or have a Court flunky do it.
A king or a prince should appear tidy at the very least.
Exactly. He’s unprofessional looking and absolutely not businesslike.
He’s on £23m a year and meant to be representing the British Royal Family – enough, please can someone take him in hand. Urgently.
Am I the only one confused here? The first paragraph describes MBS as a monster, the second describe MBS and his country as a key ally of Britain. Which is it? I cannot with these people.
He is both.
Sultan got fired from DP World, he is no longer its Group CEO and Chairman.
Also Sultan is his name not a title.
Are the files by DOJ still coming out? Maybe more revelations might come to light?
Clearly, the knives are out for William, but he’s too dumb to see it. And I find it fascinating to watch it unfold.
William never goes anywhere, and he never meets anyone of importance. That’s what his brother does. Is there another world leader or influencer William has traveled to see like this in the last 3 years?
This meeting along with the elaborate and creepy photoshoot aren’t accidental. Bulletproof Sunshine might not be on William’s side. To me it looks like William is being set-up. He must not have realized yet that he is totally expendable.
