Whitney Houston was a wicked stepmother

Whitney Houston’s stepson placed sixth on Rock the Cradle, where the children of famous rock stars compete in a talent show. At a time when Landon Brown could use some publicity, he’s decided to talk about Whitney’s step-parenting skills.

Landon Brown says Houston was a “nightmare” to grow up with, refusing to accept him as a member of her family.

He tells the National Enquirer that his former stepmum insisted he slept in a guest house when he came to stay - and refused to let him spend time with her daughter - his half-sister - Bobbi Kristina.

He says, “Whitney and I never really got along. She didn’t necessarily hate me, but she wouldn’t really speak to me either. In Whitney’s eyes, I was the stepchild.”

He adds, “She decided to turn me into one of her security personnel. I was a teenager but I was walking around dressed up in all black with a Security shirt and she’d have me work for her. I was just another one of her staff.”

Post Chronicle

Whitney might have been a first class bitch, but where was your father Bobby Brown while she was making you work with her security personnel? Shouldn’t he have said ‘That’s my kid, don’t send him out to work.’

I also wonder if the teenage Landon was working for Whitney as a way of earning pocket money. While it’s not quite the same as doing laundry or keeping your room clean, it’s still participating in household chores. I’m not sure what was so bad about the guest house, but from what Landon says I guess he didn’t get along with Bobbi Kristina, and maybe he was put in the guest house to avoid conflict. I bet it was a nice guest house.

Being a stepchild myself who didn’t get along with my new sisters, I know that I made my stepmother’s life very difficult, and if we’d had a guesthouse outside, or even a decent garage, I probably would have been put out there too, just for some peace and quiet.

Whitney Houston’s daughter attempts suicide

We all knew this was coming, given the fact that her parents are both whackjobs. Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of cracked-out diva Whitney Houston and D-list boy bander Bobby Brown, recently attempted suicide by slashing her wrists- but not until she first tried to stab her own mom.

The NATIONAL ENQUIRER exclusively reports Whitney Houston’s 15 year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina tried to stab her mom during an argument - and then attempted to kill herself by slashing her wrists!

The shocking suicide attempt landed Bobbi Kristina in a psychiatric ward in Atlanta, sources said.

Ann Davis, a family member exclusively told The ENQUIRER, that a few days before Bobbi’s 15th birthday party that Kristina “tried to stab Whitney” before turning the razor on herself.

Davis confided that part of Kristina’s problem is that she doesn’t want to live with Whitney.”

[From The National Enquirer]

Wait - Ann Davis? Is it the one and only, Ann Davis from “The Brady Bunch?” Probably not, but at this point, Alice from the Brady Bunch would be a better caregiver for this messed up kid than either of her parents. I’m sure Whitney is no picnic to live with, but if the alternative for Bobbi Kristina is living with her dad, who recently published a tell-all memoir slamming his ex wife, it’s no wonder she lost the will to live. Reportedly, Whitney had Bobbi rushed to an Atlanta area hospital where she is resting comfortably and undergoing psychiatric treatment. Hopefully the doctors will end up bringing the whole damn family in for some treatment as well. I can’t imagine the things this child has been exposed to over the years.

Bobby Brown’s new tell-all book claims Whitney was the bad one

bobbywhitney.jpg
Bobby Brown, fresh from a stint on the painful reality show “Gone Country,” has written a tell-all book about his marriage to diva Whitney Houston. I guess he needed the money to cover all his bail, back child support, and drug habit. Brown’s book attempts to paint his ex-wife as the one who introduced cocaine into the household, and claims that she only married him to kill rumors that she was gay.

With an ex-husband like Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston doesn’t need enemies.

In his upcoming autobiography, Brown blows the lid on his wildly dysfunctional marriage to the troubled, Grammy-winning diva, suggesting that she drove him into a nightmare of drug addiction.

“I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice,” Brown writes in “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But,” out next month. “At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine.”

As far as his 15-year marriage to Houston is concerned, it “was doomed from the very beginning. Within the first year we separated, with several more to follow,” Brown writes. “I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now, I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did when we got married . . . I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children.”

Whitney, he alleges, had been under “a lot of pressure. The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant, Robin Crawford. Since she was the American Sweetheart and all, that didn’t go too well with her image . . . In Whitney’s situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids. That would kill all speculation, whether it was true or not. In the short, I think I got caught up in the politics and ended up marrying one of the biggest stars in the world.”

But Brown notes that he was no saint in their relationship, confessing in his book, “I am guilty of sleeping with other women . . . Women are always throwing themselves at you. I’m only human, so I would make the mistake and bite the hook sometimes . . . I let the testosterone take over.”

One of his most public indiscretions was an affair with former exotic dancer Karrine “Superhead” Steffans. “Yes, I’ve slept with her,” he confesses. “Yes, I’ve spent several nights at her house. But she was only good for what her nickname stood for.”

[From Page Six]

“At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably.” Uh, yeah- I think that was last Tuesday. Sorry, I can’t stop laughing at this giant pile of BS. We are actually supposed to believe that Whitney Houston needed to clean up her image, and the best she could do was marry Bobby Brown? Bitch, please. That fool already had a criminal record and a nasty reputation as a misogynist long before Whitney came along. I think all that crack has addled Bobby’s memory. It’s also hilarious that he explains away his cheating in a few sentences, but rips into his wife for her supposed behavior. Whitney has more talent, fans, charisma and character- even in her current state- than Bobby Brown could ever hope to have.

Bobby Brown gets one year of community service for coke possession

bobbybrowncrying.jpg
Gossip lovers from the Boston area (like me) just love it when Bobby Brown comes to town to visit his kids. It’s pretty much a guaranteed celebrity mugshot every time he sets foot in the city. The last time Bobby came around to watch his son play in a basketball game in December, he was busted for cocaine possession outside a Brockton hotel. Bobby lucked out this time, though– apparently, the amount of coke found on the washed-up R&B singer was too small to meet the requirements for criminal possession. Instead, Bobby will get one year of community service. And get this– Bobby wants to fulfill this sentence by mentoring young people.

Singer Bobby Brown will not face any criminal charges after police said they found a small amount of cocaine in his possession, but has agreed to a year’s community service.

Brown’s attorney said Tuesday a Brockton District Court clerk magistrate found no probable cause to issue a criminal complaint, but recommended that Brown volunteer to mentor young people, which Brown wanted to do anyway.

Attorney Jeff Denner said if no other issues arise over the next year, the matter will be struck from the docket.

Police responding to a disturbance at a Brockton hotel on Dec. 1 said they found Brown, 39, sitting in an SUV in the parking lot, with cocaine in his possession.

The Boston native is the former husband of singer Whitney Houston and stars in the CMT Network show “Gone Country.”

[From WCVB Channel 5 News]

Why in the world would anyone think Bobby Brown is a positive role model for young people? He just got busted for coke, people! He is in no position to mentor kids about the dangers of drugs if he’s still using them. This guy is a total mess and has been for years. It’s no coincidence that the minute Whitney Houston left his sorry ass, she started looking better, singing better, and might even have a shot at staging a comeback. Mysteriously enough, Bobby keeps getting reality show gigs. All I can say is, I hope he comes back to Boston real soon. It was getting boring around here without him.

Picture Note by Celebitchy: Brown is shown on the CMT reality show “Gone Country,” when he was reduced to tears after meeting a sick little girl in the hospital. Thanks to Splash News.

Bobby Brown says he didn’t have heart attack, but what about that video?

bobbybrown1.jpg
Bobby Brown called in to Lee Bailey at Eurweb to deny reports, confirmed by his lawyer, that he suffered a mild heart attack and was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night. He said that his lawyer just got “bad information” and it was simple case of miscommunication:

“I heard that I had a heart attack earlier, but I didn’t,” Brown told Bailey during a phone call Wednesday afternoon.

Reports on TMZ.com, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Associated Press cited confirmation from Brown’s Atlanta-based lawyer, Phaedra Parks, who said Wednesday: “This morning they did diagnose him as suffering from a mild heart attack … they attributed (it) to stress and diet.”

However, the 38-year-old singer said he went to the hospital for a simple pre-tour check-up – “I gotta make sure my vitals and everything is straight” – and next thing he knew, folks were reporting that he had suffered a heart attack.

“That’s what happens when you’re Bobby Brown,” he joked. “I just had some procedures done. The doc cleared me and said, you know, [go] do what I do.”

As for his lawyer Parks’ confirmation to various outlets regarding the supposed heart attack, Brown says: “She got bad information from somewhere else, and that just goes to show that people need to talk to each other more often in order to make things right.”

“But everything’s all right with me. I got a clean bill of health and everything’s fine,” he says. “I’m ready to get on this road and do these shows and take care of what I gotta take care of.”

[From Eurweb.com via ONTD]

Brown also said that he was worried about the effects of the supposedly false story on his children, who were upset and called him up crying. He is saying he’s ok and wants everyone to know.

This would be all pretty believable considering it’s the person who supposedly had the heart attack denying that it happened, except that it’s Bobby Brown and there was a video of him in the hospital with tubes coming out of him telling everyone he loved them but reserving a little hate for his ex, Whitney Houston. The video and pictures used to be on X17.com, and Oh No They Didn’t has the details:

Right before he went in, Bobby Brown delivered a heartfelt statement to his family, friends, former collaborators, and “whomever it may concern”. He seems genuinely frightened by his looming surgery - at one point, he even tells his kids what to do “if daddy ain’t coming home tomorrow”!

We’ve prepared a transcript of Bobby’s words:

“This is…uh, Bobby Brown…ah, I’m about to go under the knife. So, uh, whatever happens – I know, uh, nothing’s guaranteed, so – um, I want to tell my kids I love you. Sisters, my mother, my father, I love y’all dearly. Um…to whomever it may concern, um, this ain’t about nothing else, y’know, um, uh, had a heart attack, y’know and um,..Y’know this is, this is really messed up, I don’t know what’s gonna happen, so, um…Just know I love you all, y’know, and um…Take care yourselves, I love you. All my boys, New Edition, uh, peace, man.”

“Um…My little girls, y’all know what to do with life, y’know, if daddy ain’t coming home tomorrow, y’know. But hopefully I’ll be there soon. Um…y’all just take care of each other, ai’ght? Peace.”

Following his sincere missive to his friends, family, and, um, New Edition, Bobby Brown turned his attention to his secrets! The stricken star covered all his bases, from his love for girlfriend Alicia to the extent to which drugs contributed to his condition (”Drugs had nothing to do with this…I’ve been clean for two and a half years, so don’t worry about it!”).

His strongest statement, however, may have been reserved for his ex-wife Whitney Houston.

Second Clip:

Interviewer: “Any secrets you wanna tell?”
Bobby: “Yeah, man…Um…I’m in love with you, Alicia. Uh…Whitney (holds up middle finger). (Laughs.)

Bobby: No, uhh. Nah, no secrets. Um…mmm. Shit. And drugs had nothing to do with it, I’ve been clean for two and a half years, so don’t worry about it. I still drink a little alcohol every now and then, though. That’s basically it. And, man, make sure my babies get this, man. (Unintelligible).”

Bobby lies back, groaning, rubbing his head, then startles when he sees the camera.

Bobby:“Yo! What the fuck’s that?”

Man: “What’s up, man?”

Bobby: “Yo, man…Nurse!”

[From ONTD]

Both posts with the photos and videos of Brown in the hospital have been removed from X17online and now Bobby is denying he had a heart attack even though his lawyer confirmed it to multiple news outlets. I’m thinking he’s just upset that so many details were made public and that he talked so freely about it. X17 rarely cares about publishing stuff that celebrities don’t want made public, but if Brown never signed a release and the video was made in the hospital without his knowledge they may realistically fear a lawsuit.

Given that there are photos of Brownin the hospital and a video of him saying he’s scared about surgery, it seems like he went through something serious medically and doesn’t want people to know about it.

Bobby Brown had a mild heart attack

top-csh-002960.jpg

Boy, being away from Whitney sure is bad for Bobby. He’s claimed to be broke, homeless, and now the guy’s had a mild heart attack. I don’t know why, but I’m inclined to blame his sometimes girlfriend, Karrine “Superhead” Steffans. I’m guessing she somehow siphoned all the blood from Brown’s heart.

“Singer Bobby Brown was hospitalized with a mild heart attack but is in ‘great spirits’ and hopes to perform this weekend, his rep said Wednesday. ‘He’s recovering nicely,’ rep Paedra Parks tells PEOPLE. ‘We thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate the outpouring of support.’ Brown, 40, felt chest pains Tuesday afternoon and ‘was rushed to the hospital,’ Parks says. By Wednesday morning, he was in ‘great spirits and has a great prognosis from his doctors.’ He was expected to be released later in the day.

“Brown, who had not experienced heart problems before, is scheduled to perform at the V100 Taste of Soul concert and festival in Los Angeles on Oct. 13 and still planned to take the stage. ‘He’s a performer,’ says Parks. ‘It’s what he does best.’ In addition to his new medical problem, Brown is in the midst of an ongoing divorce and custody proceeding with Whitney Houston, 44. The two are expected in an Orange County, Calif., court on Oct. 22.”

[From People]

40 is super young to be having any type of heart attack, mild or not. My father had a heart attack that nearly killed him at 44, and I remember everyone was so shocked that it could happen that young. It seems like stress is a huge factor in younger people having heart attacks, and I’m sure few things are as stressful as a publicly hostile divorce. Hopefully Bobby will be able to get on his feet again and get his life and his health in order.

Bobby Brown raises his demands

csh-004785.jpg

Just when you thought Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston were getting along… or at least smoking pot together, which for them is getting along – turns out their custody fight is heating up. And how could it not, in the world of celebrities? I have yet to hear of anyone with a sane divorce when it involves kids. Scratch that, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have been very cool to each other. But everyone else has been spitting mad and vengeful. Maybe this is de rigeur for a Hollywood divorce. Bobby Brown is claiming that since Whitney Houston has become daughter Bobbi Kristina’s sole support, she’s tried to cut Brown completely out of Bobbi’s life. He’s also claiming that he’s supported Whitney and Bobbi, even though by most printed accounts of court records, he has few assets.

“In newly released legal papers that were filed last month, Brown, 38, claims, ‘Since Whitney has been awarded sole legal and physical custody of Bobbi Kris, she has attempted to eliminate me from Bobbi Kris’ life.

“The former New Edition singer also states, ‘I did all I could to see my daughter … I also paid approximately $10,000 for Whitney and Bobbi Kris to live in a nice hotel while Whitney was going through rehab … I basically lived out of my car.’”

[From People]

That doesn’t exactly make a lot of sense. The last time Whitney was in rehab in March of 2005, the couple were still together. And if nothing else, they had homes. Why would Bobby be living in his car? I mean he’s an unusual guy, maybe he did it voluntarily or to martyr himself, but I can’t even guess why there’d be a logical reason for him to do so.

“Pointing an accusing finger at Houston, 44, Brown also says, ‘I have not seen or spoken to my daughter since early June and I have no prospect of speaking to her or seeing her anytime soon due to Whitney’s actions.’ In her declaration to the court, Houston claims that Brown has been ‘almost totally uninvolved in taking care of [Bobbi Kristina],’ and that she believes ‘Bobby is going to try to get child or spousal support from me … Bobby is fully capable of working and earning substantial sums of money if he would control her personal behavior.’

‘We have a daughter together and I would like him to be involved in her life,’ Houston says. ‘Frankly, I needed to be divorced from him so that I could get my life back on track.’ In May, Brown sued Houston for spousal support, child support and shared shared [sic] custody. Despite their legal problems, the couple were seen together earlier this month at Joe’s Crab Shack in Alpharetta, Ga., having dinner and even posing for pictures with fans, though Houston’s rep said the two were not about to reconcile.

[From People]

From the outside, it at least seems like Whitney’s make an attempt to clean up her life and get things back on track. I’m not saying she’s a model of health or wellness, but she seems like she’s got a better head on her shoulders, especially when she’s got her addictions under control. Bobby seems off his rocker to some extent no matter what. On his best day he’s referring to himself in the third person and hanging out with Karrine “Superhead” Steffans. Not exactly what you want your impressionable teenage daughter around. I think Bobby probably does want to see his daughter, but isn’t capable of understanding that he needs to behave in a more safe and rational manner to do so. He probably also wants a chunk of Whitney’s money and he could get that if he had joint custody of Bobbi Kristina. Ultimately, if he wants his situation to change, it’d probably serve him better to work on himself and his own issues for a bit and then come back to court.

Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown share some crabs

csh-020398.jpg

It seems that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown have decided to dial down the crazy. The two were seen dining together at Joe’s Crab Shack in Alpharetta, Georgia on Tuesday night. Let’s pray to God it’s platonic, which appears to be the case. TMZ has some pictures of them where they both look a little… “disheveled” with the caption “From the look of this pic, crabs aren’t the only thing that may have been stoned!” I think they just look the way most of us look without makeup and good lighting. Apparently the two are trying to stay on good terms for the sake of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 14.

WHITNEY HOUSTON celebrated her 44th birthday two days early on Tuesday night (07Aug07) on a date with her ex-husband BOBBY BROWN. The couple dined at Joe’s Crab Shack in Alpharetta, Georgia, where fellow diners report the former Mr. and Mrs. Brown seemed “very happy”. Houston filed for divorce from Brown last year (06). The split became official in April (07). Since the split, Houston has reportedly been dating toyboy Ray J., while Brown has been romantically linked to music video vixen-turned-author Karrine Steffans and his new manager Alicia Etheredge. In April (07) Brown announced he was planning to sue his ex-wife in a bid to change his terms of custody with their teenage daughter. In court papers, the My Prerogative singer reveals he was too “strapped for cash” when his wife first filed for divorce last year (06) and couldn’t afford to hire a lawyer to help him fight for custody.

[From Contact Music]

I’m not sure how Whitney Houston could be in the same room as a guy who dated Superhead, but that’s just me, and I’m weird that way. And she did date Ray J, who’s about half her age and made that ridiculous sex tape with Kim Kardashian’s butt. I’m not sure if Kim was in it, they couldn’t fit both on the screen at the same time. Hopefully Brown and Houston’s meeting together means they can come to some amicable agreement regarding custody of their daughter, and they’re not getting back together. Drama surrounded those two like crack pipes in Whitney’s drug den.
