After eight years of hard work, can we really call a woman a golddigger? I don’t think I can (exception: Kate Middleton?) Calista Flockhart put in 8 years with Harrison Ford, and just paid off big-time this week. TMZ was the first to report – with HuffPo confirming - that Harrison and Calista were married in New Mexico on Tuesday. The couple had been engaged since March of 2009. The ceremony was allegedly performed by New Mexico’s governor, Bill Richardson. TMZ thinks the event happened at the governor’s mansion! Fancy.

TMZ has learned Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were married yesterday and Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico performed the ceremony.

We got the tip from Lisa Stanley at K-Earth 101 in L.A. and just confirmed it ourselves.

We’re told the couple was married in the Governor’s mansion in Santa Fe. Their marriage license was filed today in the County Clerk’s Office.

Harrison and Calista have been together for almost 8 years, and got engaged over Valentine’s weekend in 2009.

Harrison is filming “Cowboys and Aliens” in New Mexico right now.

[From TMZ]

Yes, Harrison has been raising Calista’s son Liam like his own, and there’s even been talk that Harrison would legally adopt him? And some sources claimed that Calista wanted to adopt again too. We’ll see. I was just looking them up to see the ages again – Calista turns 46 years old in November, and Harrison turns 68 years old next month. So… no comment. Look, if Harrison is still into it, God bless. Congratulations to the happy family.

Harrison Ford on his love for Calista Flockhart, plans green wedding

wenn2571464
Hello! Magazine has a new interview with Harrison Ford, 67, and he comes across as very open and honest and like a great guy. I don’t remember the last time I saw an interview with Ford, so I watched a couple on YouTube, and he does seem like a normal, nice guy who also happens to be a movie star.

In Hello!, Ford talks about the pitfalls of fame and enthuses about his love of flying and riding motorcycles. The interviewer from Hello! points out that Ford is an environmental activist and that he drives a Prius. When asked if he’s planning a green wedding to fiance Calista Flockhart, he basically answers “of course.” Ford doesn’t say much about his commitment to environmental causes, but Hello! points out that he’s doing promotional work for the Team Earth project, which encourages people to live a more sustainable lifestyle. In that same interview, Ford admits to owning more motorcycles that he can count on both hands and Hello! mentions that Ford, a pilot, has five airplanes and a helicopter and owns three residences. Now how is owning six aircraft and three homes compatible with being conscious of your environmental impact? I’ll give the guy a break, though, as he’s donated a lot of money and time to environmental causes over the years.

Ford also speaks candidly about his love for fiance Calista, and you can tell that she means a lot to him. There’s no word as to when they plan to get married.

When it comes to work travel [Ford] often opts to take either a helicopter or an airplane which he pilots himself…

Every year, he divides his time between his Manhattan loft, his ranch in Wyoming and his home in Montecito…

On yearning for privacy
Ford: “It’s horrible to live with people looking at your nonstop. I’ll never get used to it. My fantasy would be to be invisible.”

On his love of flying
Ford: “I’m not just an actor. I’m also a pilot. I really enjoy the mix of freedom and responsibility that flying requires. I’m not seeking out the adrenaline as much as the pleasure of calculating risk and knowing where the dangers are.”

On his love for Calista
Ford: “I was 60 when I fell in love with Calista. What surprised me most was that I was still capable of establishing a long-lasting relationship, making a serious commitment. With my children, in my private life or my work, I try to learn from my mistakes and evolve.”

On a green wedding
Ford: “I haven’t thought about ‘greening my wedding.’ My wedding was always going to be green.”

[From Hello! Magazine, print edition, October 5, 2009]

Ford confirmed earlier this month that a fifth Indiana Jones movie is in the works. We heard earlier this summer that Ford’s co-star Shia Labeouf said that filming had already begun on the fifth movie. Fox News has a new amusing editorial that asks if some action heroes are just too old to be convincing. The youngest guy they mention is Nicholas Cage, 45, and the oldest is Clint Eastwood, 79. Of Ford, 67, they say “Shia LaBeouf will be back [in Indiana Jones 5] to do more of the heavy lifting, but it will still be hard to watch Ford huff and puff his way alongside his much younger co-star.” Ford doesn’t see that as a problem, though, and told Hello! that he’s still around because “I’m not a trend, so you can’t replace me just like that.”

People Magazine confirms Calista Flockhart Harrison Ford engagement

People Magazine has confirmed that Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford are engaged. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day, and last month we reported the rumors of the pending nuptials. Harrison Ford is 66 years old, and this will be his third marriage. Calista is 44 years old and this will be her first marriage.

According to People, they have been together for seven and a half years, which sounds about right. Allegedly, they met for the first time in 2002, and started dating soon after. Calista was (and is) a single mother to son Liam, whom she adopted in 2001 as a newborn. The rumor is that Harrison is very close to Liam, and that Calista wants Harrison to formally adopt Liam. People has more:

Harrison Ford and girlfriend Calista Flockhart are engaged to be married, sources close to the couple confirm exclusively to PEOPLE.

Ford, 66, surprised Flockhart, 44, with an engagement ring on Valentine’s Day weekend while the two were away on a family vacation with son Liam.

Reps for the couple did not return calls.

The couple has been together for seven and a half years. No wedding date has been set yet.

From People Magazine

Good luck with that, Calista. And I really mean that. She’s put in more than seven years to this relationship and she’s even let her son get close to Harrison. Harrison’s going to look like a tool (in my opinion) if he doesn’t marry Calista. I really hope this wedding happens… I think it probably will, but we won’t hear much about it. They both seem to take their privacy seriously. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Note by Celebitchy: Calista Flockhart is shown out on 12/15/08 with what looks like a engagement ring, but it’s on her middle finger. She was photographed out in other candids since in which she’s not wearing the ring. Credit: Fame Pictures

Calista Flockhart has not seen Star Wars, Harrison Ford is okay with that

Some people, on meeting a new romantic interest, Google them, check their Facebook page, and generally mildly stalk them online. Others, like Calista Flockhart, don’t. Which is fine when you’re dating Harrison Ford. If he does something really scandalous you’ll see it on the supermarket checkout tabloids. Still, I think she might have watched Star Wars at least once, if for no other reason than Harrison was so hot then.

Ford, 66, became a superstar as space action hero Han Solo in the original George Lucas trilogy, which became a $4.3 billion movie franchise.

The couple, who became engaged on 1 April 2007, have been dating since 2002. And Flockhart, who was still a child at the time the original film debuted in 1977, blames her rural upbringing for never seeing the sci-fi franchise that made her fiance a cult hero.

The 44-year-old actress says, “I was never starstruck (by him). I have not seen Star Wars, isn’t that amazing… I’m sure it is (good). It’s weird that I haven’t seen it. We lived in a small town and the movie theatre was an hour away. And I was 12 – the perfect age to see it.”

PR Inside

Calista makes no mention of the newer Star Wars projects, which don’t star Harrison Ford. Why would she? Many fans are trying to erase the recent cartoon movies from their minds.

Calista and Harrison are rumored to have acquired a marriage license and are thought to be getting married any day now. Clearly not being a fan of Star Wars isn’t a deal breaker for its leading man, which is ironic really, because it would be for some hard core fanatics.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart to marry

wenn2258645
Is it possible that Harrison Ford, who has twice been twice divorced in a costly manner, is going to marry for a third time? Rumor has it that Ford and his longterm girlfriend, Calista Flockhart, are about to be married:

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart could finally be set to tie the knot nearly two years after they got engaged.

Rumours of their imminent wedding are said to be swirling in the town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where the couple have an 800-acre ranch.

They have reportedly had blood tests, which in some parts of the U.S. are required in order to obtain a marriage licence.

New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams reported: ‘Jackson Hole bigmouths swear Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart took blood tests and got licenses so could be they already are, or soon will be, filing joint returns.’

Daily Mail

Harrison divorced his wife Melissa Matheson in 2004 (two years after he began dating Calista) and settled for $85million after 27 years of marriage. She also received an ongoing interest in the films he made during their marriage, including the Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Prior to that Harrison divorced his first wife of 15 years, Mary Marquardt, settling for an undisclosed amount. Not including Calista’s son, Harrison has four adult children and three grandchildren.

Calista adopted her son Liam in 2001, and Harrison credits him with keeping him young. Harrison proposed to Calista on April Fool’s Day 2007, and I think most people presumed that the pair wouldn’t get married because of how long they’d been together and the nature of the proposal’s date. Most predicted he’d marry Calista shortly after he divorced his second wife in 2004, and when it didn’t happen there was a lot of break up talk.

Perhaps the reason for getting married is to give Calista a more solid claim on Harrison’s life and estate as he gets old. In the event of Harrison becoming very ill, a wife has a lot more say in his treatment then a girlfriend or even a child. Harrison has grown children who could be asked to make decisions in the event he is unable to. I don’t think they would be consulted if Harrison had a ‘wife’ rather than ‘life partner’. A friend of mine is recently got married to her much older partner for similar reasons to this.

Of course, they might just be madly in love and looking to cement it, and celebrate it. Congratulations to Harrison and Calista.

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford aren’t getting married

I actually thought there could be some truth to this story – Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford have been together forever, or six years, which is forever in Hollywood time. Reports that began in the London tabloids said that Harrison Ford proposed to Calista Flockhart on April Fool’s Day, and that they plan to get married as soon as the promotional duties for Indiana Jones are complete. Unfortunately, his rep has denied that it is true.

“This is completely fabricated and the result of a British tabloid report,” the rep confirmed to OK!.

OK! Magazine

I highly doubt that Harrison Ford will ever marry again. His last divorce, from screenwriter Melissa Matheson, set him back no less than $90 million. The pair were married for 18 years and had two children together. According to Forbes, the most expensive celebrity divorces include Michael Jordan’s and Neil Diamond’s (at $150 million each), followed by Steven Speilberg’s divorce from Amy Irving at $100 million. Harrison Ford’s earned him the number 4 spot on the list.

Harrison will probably not be marrying Calista Flockhart, but if she does decide she’d like to tie the knot, I’d have to suggest to Harrison that he gets down on one knee as quick as a man of 65 can. At that age, even for a sexy old fella like him, it’s not as easy to attract women 20+ years your junior. Calista is 43, and looked absolutely amazing in that pink dress at the Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull premiere.

Calista has an adopted son, Liam, 7, that Harrison recently described as his ‘child’, and credited him with keeping him young and ‘involved in life’.

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford are shown outside the Waverly Inn in NY on 5/21/08, thanks to WENN.

Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull premiere photos

Cate Blanchett attended the Australian premiere of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wearing a gold lame wrap dress with too much fabric gathered with a plain black belt. It was an astonishingly bad look for Cate, who often takes fashion risks but pulls it off. She topped off the look with a pair of chunky black t-strap shoes that would have been at home on Gwyneth Paltrow’s feet.

Blanchett didn’t look as bad as Ashanti, who attended the NY premiere which was hosted by BET’s show 106 and Park. Ashanti wore a dress with peacock sequin detail around the the neck and thick blue eyeshadow under her eyes as if she was about to play football. It got us to publish her photo, so her makeup strategy worked.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is out in the US tomorrow, May 22. Initial reviews are mixed and praise the excellent fast-paced action but say that the dialog and plot are lacking.

Also shown at the NY premiere are Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Shia LaBeouf and Karen Allen. I love Calista’s simple pale pink dress. Thanks to WENN and PRPhotos.

Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull premieres at Cannes

The first reviews are in for Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, which had its much-anticipated premiere at Cannes yesterday, and they’re mixed. A critic for Britain’s Telegraph calls it “creaky” with bad dialog but admits that it has rollicking good special effects. The overall consensus is that it’s a lot of fun, but that the plot leaves something to be desired.

The Pirates of the Caribbean films weren’t well reviewed either, but there was plenty of action and eye candy and they sure cleaned up at the box office. The fourthIndiana Jones movie is likely to do the same.

Here’s the latest trailer. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull is out in the US and in most countries on May 22:

And here are pictures from the premiere yesterday, including Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Portman, Salma Hayek, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Aishwarya Rai, Linda Evangelista, Billy Zane and Kelly Brook (who are probably back together) and Goldie Hawn. Cate Blanchett always looks gorgeous.

Celebrities serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless

Celebrities were out in LA yesterday to assist the Los Angeles homeless mission in serving an early Thanksgiving meal to the city’s homeless. Actors Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart and Nia Long were among the famous faces helping out and bringing attention to the cause.

Wearing red aprons and plastic gloves, they stood alongside volunteers at the annual feast at downtown’s Los Angeles Mission, doling out turkey drumsticks, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, vegetables and pumpkin pie.

Actresses Nia Long and Calista Flockhart and “The Hills” reality TV star Spencer Pratt were among others passing out almost 3,000 plates of food to lines of men, women and children.

“It’s very grounding,” said Long, who dished out vegetables and rolls with her 7-year-old son. “I feel grateful for all the things I have.”

A house band pounded out music as people sipped on bright green and orange punch at rows of tables outside.

[From The Huffington Post]

LA mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was there, and he actually washed homeless people’s feet as part of the event, getting down on his hands and knees to personally attend to the feet of the down-on-their-luck attendees. That’s an incredible gesture and I find it touching. One of the women whose feel Villaraigosa washed agrees. Yasmine Villalobos is quoted by Huffington Post as saying “He washed my feet, and it was so special. I will remember it forever.”

I love seeing 90 year-old screen legend Kirk Douglas out. He was most recently photographed looking incredibly surprised as John Travolta kissed him full on the mouth before presenting him with an award. Hopefully they’ll be plenty more photo ops for Mr. Douglas, and those pictures will soon fade from our collective memory.

Kirk Douglas has volunteered with the LA Mission for years, and helped establish their Anne Douglas Center for Women, named after his wife. Anne and Kirk Douglas oversaw the donation of ten computers to the center last summer. In a statement about the celebrities volunteering at the LA Mission on Thanksgiving, Douglas said “Their involvement will help their souls as much as it helps the guests being served.”

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.

Shown below are Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Alana Curry, Spencer Pratt, Antonio Villaraigosa, Kate Linder, Nicholle Tom, Nia Long, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Calista Flockhart’s son, Liam. Thanks to PRPhotos.
