Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford aren’t getting married

I actually thought there could be some truth to this story - Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford have been together forever, or six years, which is forever in Hollywood time. Reports that began in the London tabloids said that Harrison Ford proposed to Calista Flockhart on April Fool’s Day, and that they plan to get married as soon as the promotional duties for Indiana Jones are complete. Unfortunately, his rep has denied that it is true.

“This is completely fabricated and the result of a British tabloid report,” the rep confirmed to OK!.

OK! Magazine

I highly doubt that Harrison Ford will ever marry again. His last divorce, from screenwriter Melissa Matheson, set him back no less than $90 million. The pair were married for 18 years and had two children together. According to Forbes, the most expensive celebrity divorces include Michael Jordan’s and Neil Diamond’s (at $150 million each), followed by Steven Speilberg’s divorce from Amy Irving at $100 million. Harrison Ford’s earned him the number 4 spot on the list.

Harrison will probably not be marrying Calista Flockhart, but if she does decide she’d like to tie the knot, I’d have to suggest to Harrison that he gets down on one knee as quick as a man of 65 can. At that age, even for a sexy old fella like him, it’s not as easy to attract women 20+ years your junior. Calista is 43, and looked absolutely amazing in that pink dress at the Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull premiere.

Calista has an adopted son, Liam, 7, that Harrison recently described as his ‘child’, and credited him with keeping him young and ‘involved in life’.

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford are shown outside the Waverly Inn in NY on 5/21/08, thanks to WENN.

Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull premiere photos

Cate Blanchett attended the Australian premiere of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wearing a gold lame wrap dress with too much fabric gathered with a plain black belt. It was an astonishingly bad look for Cate, who often takes fashion risks but pulls it off. She topped off the look with a pair of chunky black t-strap shoes that would have been at home on Gwyneth Paltrow’s feet.

Blanchett didn’t look as bad as Ashanti, who attended the NY premiere which was hosted by BET’s show 106 and Park. Ashanti wore a dress with peacock sequin detail around the the neck and thick blue eyeshadow under her eyes as if she was about to play football. It got us to publish her photo, so her makeup strategy worked.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is out in the US tomorrow, May 22. Initial reviews are mixed and praise the excellent fast-paced action but say that the dialog and plot are lacking.

Also shown at the NY premiere are Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Shia LaBeouf and Karen Allen. I love Calista’s simple pale pink dress. Thanks to WENN and PRPhotos.

Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull premieres at Cannes

The first reviews are in for Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, which had its much-anticipated premiere at Cannes yesterday, and they’re mixed. A critic for Britain’s Telegraph calls it “creaky” with bad dialog but admits that it has rollicking good special effects. The overall consensus is that it’s a lot of fun, but that the plot leaves something to be desired.

The Pirates of the Caribbean films weren’t well reviewed either, but there was plenty of action and eye candy and they sure cleaned up at the box office. The fourthIndiana Jones movie is likely to do the same.

Here’s the latest trailer. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull is out in the US and in most countries on May 22:

And here are pictures from the premiere yesterday, including Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Portman, Salma Hayek, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Aishwarya Rai, Linda Evangelista, Billy Zane and Kelly Brook (who are probably back together) and Goldie Hawn. Cate Blanchett always looks gorgeous.

Celebrities serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless

Celebrities were out in LA yesterday to assist the Los Angeles homeless mission in serving an early Thanksgiving meal to the city’s homeless. Actors Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart and Nia Long were among the famous faces helping out and bringing attention to the cause.

Wearing red aprons and plastic gloves, they stood alongside volunteers at the annual feast at downtown’s Los Angeles Mission, doling out turkey drumsticks, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, vegetables and pumpkin pie.

Actresses Nia Long and Calista Flockhart and “The Hills” reality TV star Spencer Pratt were among others passing out almost 3,000 plates of food to lines of men, women and children.

“It’s very grounding,” said Long, who dished out vegetables and rolls with her 7-year-old son. “I feel grateful for all the things I have.”

A house band pounded out music as people sipped on bright green and orange punch at rows of tables outside.

[From The Huffington Post]

LA mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was there, and he actually washed homeless people’s feet as part of the event, getting down on his hands and knees to personally attend to the feet of the down-on-their-luck attendees. That’s an incredible gesture and I find it touching. One of the women whose feel Villaraigosa washed agrees. Yasmine Villalobos is quoted by Huffington Post as saying “He washed my feet, and it was so special. I will remember it forever.”

I love seeing 90 year-old screen legend Kirk Douglas out. He was most recently photographed looking incredibly surprised as John Travolta kissed him full on the mouth before presenting him with an award. Hopefully they’ll be plenty more photo ops for Mr. Douglas, and those pictures will soon fade from our collective memory.

Kirk Douglas has volunteered with the LA Mission for years, and helped establish their Anne Douglas Center for Women, named after his wife. Anne and Kirk Douglas oversaw the donation of ten computers to the center last summer. In a statement about the celebrities volunteering at the LA Mission on Thanksgiving, Douglas said “Their involvement will help their souls as much as it helps the guests being served.”

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.

Shown below are Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Alana Curry, Spencer Pratt, Antonio Villaraigosa, Kate Linder, Nicholle Tom, Nia Long, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Calista Flockhart’s son, Liam. Thanks to PRPhotos.
