Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves welcome baby boy Livingston

Matthew McConaughey and his girl Camila Alves have welcomed their third baby after what felt like a three-month gestation. With some of these ladies, it feels like they’re pregnant for a year and a half, and then some of them seem to keep it under wraps successfully for a while. Anyway, they had a son, who will join big brother Levi and big sister Vida. Before I talk about this little boy’s name, some backstory… Matthew’s big breakout role was in Dazed & Confused, where his character’s life motto was “Just Keep Livin’”. As MM became more famous, he adopted the motto as his own, and his production company is called JK Livin and he has a foundation called JK Livin too. So what did he name his son? LIVINGSTON. As in, JK Livingston. LOL.

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are now the proud parents of another baby boy!

Though the spouses were rumored to have welcomed a baby girl, the Magic Mike actor set the record straight via Facebook Dec. 29.

“Camila Alves gave birth to our third child yesterday morning. Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey, was born at 7:43 a.m on Dec. 28, 2012,” McConaughey wrote. “He greeted the world at 9 lbs. and 21 inches. Bless up and thank you for your well wishes.”

The couple’s new arrival joins older siblings Levi, 4, and Vida, 3.

McConaughey, 43, announced his wife’s pregnancy via Twitter July 4, just weeks after the couple tied the knot in Austin, Texas. Together since 2006, the couple swapped vows in front of several A-list pals, including Reese Witherpsoon and Woody Harrelson.

Several months into her third pregnancy, Brazilian model and handbag designer Alves, 30, told Us Weekly her two children were eager to welcome another sibling. “I think they fully understand that it’s a little baby coming,” she said in September. “They love it.”

[From Us Weekly]

Is it weird that I don’t hate the name? Granted, “Livingston” is a weird name for a baby, but I think the boy will grow into the name rather well. Especially if he ends up being called by a nickname, like (O I DON’T KNOW) “JK”. Levi and Livingston McConaughey… that sounds okay.

Anyway, congrats to Matthew and Camille!

Matthew McConaughey’s drastic weight loss: too method or not that bad?

Matthew McConaughey

Here’s some photos of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves at the New York City screening of Matthew’s latest (indie) film, Killer Joe. As an avid McConaughey fan, I realized something was amiss, and I noticed the same thing at the London premiere for Magic Mike, but now the issue has progressed somewhat. He looks very, very skinny here, right?

There’s a good reason for Matthew’s emaciated state — he’s preparing to play an HIV patient in a movie called The Dallas Buyer’s Club. According to the movie’s IMDb page, Matthew’s character develops full-blown AIDS in 1986 and is instructed to “go home and die” but doesn’t take his diagnosis lying down. Needless to say, it sounds like very heavy stuff, and Matthew’s getting into the role by losing a total of thirty pounds before filming even begins. Of course, I’ve never really thought of Matthew as a method actor — unless one counts playing bongos naked and smoking doobies — but it’s good that McConaughey is getting back into some meaty acting instead of devolving back into a romcom dude. Here’s some more info about his weight loss:

Matthew McConaughey

While his new wife Camila is gaining weight due to her pregnancy, it appears Matthew McConaughey is going in the opposite direction. The actor appeared noticeably thinner as he arrived with his wife at the New York screening of his new film Killer Joe last night.

The normally beefy Texan has lost over 15lbs already and is planning to lose another 15 to play an HIV patient in his new film.

Wearing a blue suit last night, the 42-year-old’s face was thinner and he had lost his usual muscley frame. His slim physique was a far cry from the rippled muscles he sported on his latest release Magic Mike, in which he plays a stripper.

Matthew is due to film The Dallas Buyer’s Club in September so has another six weeks to reach his goal weight for his portrayal of an HIV patient.

He said recently: “I’m losing some weight. I’ve got a role coming up in the middle of September. I’ve lost about 15 pounds, I’ve gotta lose about 15 more. I am drinking a lot of tea. It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside.”

Meanwhile, his expectant wife Camila, 30, looked incredible as she posed alongside her leading man in a daring bandage dress

[From Daily Mail]

Yes, about Camila’s dress … check out her bump from the side as opposed to a full-on front view. I know it’s one of those dreadful Herve Ledger bandage dresses, but there’s also an optical illusion going on that makes her bump seem nonexistent from the front, right? Much like her recent London premiere dress as well.

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew has also revealed that his kids, Levi and Vida, are both excited and started dancing and singing when they learned a new baby was on the way. Too cute. Here’s a few daddy pr0n shots of McConaughey and family in NYC a few days ago. I know it’s not as good as Chris Hemworth’s giant arms and a tiny baby, but it will have to do for now.

Channing Tatum & Matthew McConaughey in London: who’d you rather?

Channing Tatum Matthew McConaughey

At the London premiere of Magic Mike last night, only two of the movie’s stripper boys were present on the red carpet (unlike the Los Angeles premiere where they all showed up). Yet there was no lack of sex appeal by any stretch because the two guys in question were Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. Interestingly, Alex “Bitchfight” Pettyfer was not on the premises, so Channing and Matthew were able to bro it up alone. Do you think they hit an English pub together after the premiere? Probably not. But that would make a great story if they did.

Last time, Kaiser asked the “who would you rather?” question, she chose Channing in part because he’s a Southern boy. Now I find myself faced with the same dilemma but, likewise, I am going with Matthew because (generally speaking) Texas boys are unredeemably hot. Even though I have to admit that Channing is really smooth looking and chose a rather offbeat suit for the occasion, yeah, I gotta go with Matthew. Even though he’s looking a bit too tanned and plucked these days … still, McConaughey! All he has to do is open his mouth and speak with that famous drawl, and I’m all his. He’s a Texas Longhorns fan too! Yes, McConaughey.

Channing Tatum

Matthew McConaughey

Oh and look at Camila Alves’ bump! Matthew and Camila just announced last week that their third child is on the way, and Camila is looking quite far along already. I’m guessing she’s about six (or even seven) months along, which makes it relatively amazing that none of the couple’s friends said anything after attending the couple’s wedding about a month ago. Then again, Camila did a good job of hiding her bump with her bouquet on the cover of People. Perhaps Matthew’s Chrismas proposal happened shortly after he and Camila learned they were expecting yet again?

Camila Alves Matthew McConaughey

Of course, Channing walked the red carpet with his lucky wife, Jenna Dewan. And then she and Camila posed together as well. Guys aren’t the only ones who can bro it up.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves are expecting their third child

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are expecting their THIRD baby. They just got married on June 9th, in a backyard (with tents, y’all) wedding ceremony in Texas, and now I’m understanding why that ceremony felt a little rushed? I mean, I’m not judging. They already have two kids and they’ve been together since 2006. But the timing does seem a bit weird, like suddenly they want it to be legit… for the third kid? As I said, Camila and Matthew are already parents to Levi (3) and Vida (2). Both of the kids were in the wedding. And now we know the third kid was at the wedding too! So… congrats on the new addition!

Two weeks after tying the knot, Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, have more exciting news to share: They’re expecting their third child!

“Happy birthday America, more good news,” the Magic Mike actor, 42, tweeted on Wednesday’s July 4th holiday. “Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep liven.”

The couple’s new arrival will join big brother, Levi, 3, and big sister, Vida, 2.

Together since 2006 after meeting in a Los Angeles bar, the actor and his Brazilian-born model love got engaged on Christmas Day in 2011 and said their “I do’s” on June 10. Setting up a makeshift campground on their Austin, Texas property, the pair invited their children to take part in the ceremony.

“Levi brought the rings on a necklace. Vida was the flower girl,” McConaughey later revealed on NBC’s TODAY. “I don’t think she dropped one petal.”

Though they’re over the moon about being married, the expectant parents were in no initial rush to walk down the aisle.

“We’ve been living a married life for over six years now,” the new bride, 30, explained. “We have homes together, we have family together, we have kids, we’ve built a life together. So we’ve been living a married life this whole time.”

“A lot of people, sometimes they’re so stuck on ‘I gotta get married, I gotta get married,’ that they forget that the really important thing is to have a healthy home, a healthy family, a healthy family for your kids and to have everything going in a good, peaceful way,” she continued.

[From Us Weekly]

I think it’s nice. It seems like the trend in Hollywood these days, to do big families. That’s coming from an only child, by the way – to me, “big family” means three or more kids. While I don’t think Camila and Matthew are Quiverfull people, but I do think they’re dirty hippies. And I mean that in a nice way!

By the way, like Bedhead, I saw Magic Mike over the weekend, and can I just say? Matthew was REALLY good in it. Like… he was better in this film than he’s been in any film I’ve seen of him over the past decade. When my mom and I were leaving the theater (yes, I took my mom to see it, and yes, she LOVES Channing Tatum and his beautiful ass), she said, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think Matthew should be nominated for an Oscar for that.” It’s kind of true. He was that good.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila’s wedding covers People Mag: sweet or awful?

As predicted, People Magazine has the exclusive photos from Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves’s weekend wedding. First thoughts, in no particular order:

1. OMG Matthew’s hairline is even worse in profile.
2. Camila’s dress is pretty, although it seems kind of fussy for a down-home Texas wedding.
3. Camila is taking style tips from Cleopatra Keys, right? And Kim Kardashian! Why is forehead jewelry – for your WEDDING, no less – such a “thing” these days?
4. Why is Matthew pointing at Camila’s chin? It looks like he’s about pick something out of her teeth.

Anyway, it’s cute. Matthew reported wore a D&G tux (he’s the face of D&G’s cologne), and I like Camila’s wedding dress more than that Chanel monstrosity that Drew Barrymore wore. Apparently, Camila’s dress was handmade by her “favorite Brazilian designer”. Here’s more from People Magazine:

How’s this for wedded bliss? Matthew McConaughey and his bride Camila Alves are the portrait of happiness in photos from their June 9 at-home wedding in Austin, Texas.

“We decided to embrace the ritual of marriage as an opportunity and adventure we’ll take together,” McConaughey, 42, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story, which features exclusive photos and details from the couple’s big day.

The pair welcomed around 120 guests – including Reese Witherspoon, Kenny Chesney and Woody Harrelson – for a three-day extravaganza of summer fun surrounding the nuptials.

The ceremony was especially meaningful for the pair’s children, Levi, who turns 4 in July, and Vida, 2½, who served as ring bearer and flower girl at the Catholic ceremony.

Says Camila, 29: “Somehow they both seem to understand what we are doing on a spiritual level.”

For Matthew and Camila’s exclusive wedding album – from the bride’s hand-stitched (and blessed!) dress to the couple’s dance floor moves – pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday

[From People]

Oh, it was a Catholic ceremony? I would imagine that’s all Camila – or was Matthew raised in the church too? No idea. Anyway, it’s all very nice. I would have chosen a full-frontal view for the cover, but maybe that’s because I’m still recovering from Matthew’s hairline and dinosaur arm looking like he’s about to jab Camila in the face.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves had a hush-hush wedding in Texas last night

I wasn’t expecting this so soon. People Magazine and Us Weekly are reporting that Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves had a secret (“secret”) wedding last night in Texas. Camila and Matthew have been together for six years, and they have two children together – Levi (nearly 4 years old) and Vida, who is 2 and a half. Matthew is 42, Camila is 30 – I don’t think I realized how young she is. It was just last week that I saw a new interview with Camila in which she claimed she wasn’t even close to planning the wedding, but I guess that was just to throw everyone off the scent. The wedding seemed to be kept very low-key and the guests didn’t even know they were coming to a wedding. People Magazine will have some of the wedding photos in next week’s issue. Here’s a bit more about the couple:

Everything’s bigger in Texas — especially celebrity weddings! Texas native Matthew McConaughey and his love of six years Camila Alves tied the knot in Austin Saturday, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.

“There were about 100 of his close friends and family there,” one wedding guest tells Us of the “high-end,” campout-themed soiree. “[The ceremony] was very emotional. There was a moment when . . . [Matthew] leaned down and whispered something in [Camila's] ear and you could see a tear coming down her face. Everyone let out a collective sigh.”

Following the ceremony, guests — including Woody Harrelson and filmmaker Richard Linklater — celebrated all night long, camping out in state-of-the-art tents set up on McConaughey and Alves’ property.

“It’s definitely a campground, but they weren’t exactly roughing it,” one source explained. “They have showers, restrooms, and air conditioning. It’s very unique, high-end camping.”

Alves and McConaughey, 42, who met at a bar in Los Angeles in 2006, have two children together, Levi, 3, and Vida, 2. The actor proposed to his Brazilian-born love this past Christmas.

“Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas,” the Magic Mike star tweeted December 25, posting a sweet photo of the newly-engaged pair sharing a smooch.

“I found the woman I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together,” he declared to Esquire magazine in March 2011. Still, the head-over-heels pair saw no reason to rush things, because, as Alves told ET Canada this past March, they already felt like a married couple.

“We’ve been living a married life for over six years now,” Alves, 30, explained. “We have homes together, we have family together, we have kids, we’ve built a life together. So we’ve been living a married life this whole time.”

Added the Shear Genius host, “A lot of people, sometimes they’re so stuck on ‘I gotta get married, I gotta get married,’ that they forget that the really important thing is to have a healthy home, a healthy family, a healthy family for your kids and to have everything going in a good, peaceful way.”

As young as her children are, Alves admitted her kids were excited when their parents decided to make their union official.

“Levi actually understands what it means now that mama’s going to have the same last name as they have, so that’s neat!” the model explained.

As for plans to expand their brood?

Teased Alves, “We’ll see!”

[From Us Weekly]

Although I’m a bit surprised with the timing, I’m not surprised Camila and Matthew made it down the aisle. I think most people already assumed they were married anyway, so this is just formalizing their relationship even more. And can I just say? I can remember a time when Matthew was one of the hottest guys around. Yes, children, I survived the 1990s, and there was a point in my life where I was attracted to Matthew McConaughey. Not so much anymore. But I still wish him well, and I think their wedding sounds really nice. Congrats to the happy couple!

Nicole Kidman in bronze, metallic Ralph Lauren in Cannes: gorgeous or rough?

As we talked about last week, Nicole Kidman’s Botox-face was looking pretty marble-like throughout her photo calls and premieres in Cannes. So far, Radar is one of the few sites (that I’ve seen) who are really calling her out on it. These are some more photos of Nicole in Cannes, at Friday night’s premiere of Hemingway & Gellhorn. She posed on the red carpet with her costars, Rodrigo Santoro and a muttonchopped Clive Owen. Once again, Nicole’s hair isn’t doing her any favors.

Nicole’s premiere dress was Ralph Lauren. Now… beyond the Botox, I have been enjoying Nicole’s Cannes looks a great deal. She was going through a super-frilly, lacy phase for a while which I absolutely loathed, so I’m glad to see her putting in some effort to give us lots of different “looks” in Cannes. I’m not crazy about this Ralph Lauren gown, but it’s interesting on Nicole. And I think Nicole heard us talking about her bolt-ons, because her nips aren’t assaulting everyone at this premiere.

More photos from Cannes… here’s Kristen Stewart after the Cosmopolis premiere, in Dolce & Gabbana.

Andie MacDowell in unknown black dress. Dislike the dress. Here’s the real question – Andie MacDowell: Good genes or good surgeon? Her face looks different, but she’s achieved a sort of agelessness without looking Botoxy or “worked on”. Andie is also one of the few women that gives me hair-envy.

Camila Alves in Marchesa. I’m surprised Eva Longoria didn’t get to wear this fug frou-frou monstrosity.

Matthew McConaughey proposed to Camila Alves

Matthew McConaughey's photo just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas
Matthew McConaughey on WhoSay
Did you know that Matthew McConaughey was on Twitter? I didn’t. Matthew used his Twitter account to make a major announcement this Christmas: he proposed to his longterm girlfriend, Camila Alves! Matthew, 42, and Camila, 29, have been together since 2006. They are parents to son Levi, 3 and a half, and daughter Vida, who turns two next week. McConaughey tweeted the above photo yesterday with the caption “Just asked camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas” I wonder what prompted McConaughey to propose after so long. In April, McConaughey told Cigar Aficiando magazine that he wasn’t opposed to marriage, but that he didn’t feel like it was necessary:

“Marriage isn’t something I’m against. My parents married each other three times – and divorced twice. I know a few older couples who have been married a long time and are happy; I’ve been around healthy marriages. I knew I wanted a family and I found a woman I love and felt was right for me. I thought, ‘That’s the woman I want to make a family with.’ But marriage – it’s not something we feel we need to be complete. It doesn’t mean we won’t do it.

“It doesn’t make my mom that happy that we’re not married. But it doesn’t make her mad either. Of course, I was raised to believe that you don’t have sex until you’re married. So there you are.”

[From Cigar Aficionado, print edition, via Celebitchy]

So it sounds like he’s been cautious about it for a while, but that he finally felt ready to take the plunge. Congratulations to Matthew and Camila! I find holiday proposals so romantic, and I’m hoping they have a big showy wedding with a photo spread in People. Maybe they’ll do a barefoot beach wedding, though. That’s sounds more their style.

For those of you who are going to mention the blind item about the famous couple doing cocaine that has been neglecting their kids, I hope it’s not true. It was obviously written about McConaughey and Alves, but that doesn’t mean it’s true at all. That’s the problem I have with blind items: even if you figure out who they’re supposed to be about, that doesn’t make them accurate. That’s why no names are used.

Here’s another photo Matt tweeted of his newly-shorn head. He’s looking a little thin, but I like him bald.

Katherine Heigl at the Elle Women in Hollywood event: much improved or manic?

fp_8036693_rij_elle_women_5
We’re covering the fashion of last night’s Elle’s Women in Hollywood event in three different posts as there were so many celebrities there. Kaiser has already mentioned Jennifer Aniston’s hot dress along with some of the other big names, Like Reese Witherspoon and Evan Rachel Wood. I’ll be covering some of the other celebrities here along with my favorite TV personalities.

First off we have Katherine Heigl in a beaded little black dress. It’s a bit “mature” looking, but it’s not bad at all for her. She looks very good, if kind of crazed here. I like what she’s done with her short hair too. Her husband Josh Kelly came with her and looked almost as thrilled to be there. After seeing these photos, I’m convinced that things are fine with them.

fp_8036686_rij_elle_women_5

fp_8036689_rij_elle_women_5

Jayma Mays in a one-shoulder ruched blue dress with ruffle detail. Compared to some of the horribly frumpy things she’s worn on the red carpet, this was a vast improvement. Her hair is gorgeous and that sideswept looked is popular now. Her eye makeup is a little overdone, but overall this was a win for Jayma.

fp_8036647_rij_elle_women_1

fp_8036646_rij_elle_women_1

Busy Phillips looked a little goofy with that very tight, very high little bun on her head. I want to give her a pass for just looking so happy and cute though. She’s adorable in this very simple black dress paired with silver jewelry. What was she thinking with those purple shoes?

fp_8036644_rij_elle_women_0

fp_8036643_rij_elle_women_0

Matthew McConaughey’s squeeze Camila Alves had her pose on in a navy blue polka dot retro-style dress. She used to be a model, so I guess that could explain her sourpuss face. I love the dress, hair and makeup. The shoes and purse aren’t my favorite.

fp_8036657_rij_elle_women_2

fp_8036655_rij_elle_women_2

Erika Christensen of “Parenthood” looked really drab. I love her on that show, she’s one of my favorite actresses. What happened to her here? I wear more makeup and do more to my hair to go to the store on a daily basis. She’s a Scientologist I’m sorry to say, but she was raised in it. Also, here’s her date:

fp_8036710_rij_elle_women_7

fp_8036709_rij_elle_women_7

fp_8037747_christensen_erik

In contrast, Gillian Jacobs from another one of my shows, “Community,” was way overdone. The bottom half of that dress would be cute with a nice solid color panel at the top, but the contrasting patterns and colors are just ridiculous. Paired with that makeup and poofy hair and she looks unhinged.

fp_8036640_rij_elle_women_0

fp_8036478_rij_elle_women_0

Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s costar in the upcoming Rum Diaries, was a study in color. I’m perplexed at how an otherwise gorgeous girl can pair a form-fitting pepto pink dress with matte scarlet lips, brown eyeshadow, too-yellow hair and black t-strap heels and end up looking like this. It’s like all the lovely parts are there, but they don’t work together.

fp_8036700_rij_elle_women_6

fp_8036698_rij_elle_women_6

Elizabeth Olsen wore a silver tent-like Calvin Klein gown. It doesn’t do much for her, but I love how genuinely happy she looks here, and her makeup is so striking.

fp_8036668_rij_elle_women_3

fp_8036667_rij_elle_women_3

Abigail Breslin is still only 15! I can’t believe it, as I had to look it up and assumed she was 17-something by now. She had on a very tasteful loose orange dot dress paired with a canary colored clutch and nude heels. She’s wearing too much makeup for her age, but she looks cute here.

fp_8036760_rij_elle_women_1

fp_8036759_rij_elle_women_1

Naomi Watts in a nude-colored v-neck gown. The color washes her out, but she looks so hot. I love her hair and makeup, except her mascara is really clumpy. That’s happened to me when I let a makeup counter person do my mascara. I expect Naomi had something similar happen with her makeup artist.

Matthew McConaughey’s new mustache: porny or hot?

bernie_premiere_21_wenn3399
I can’t help it, I have a thing for Matthew McConaughey and his T-Rex arms and body odor masked by heavy cologne. That’s probably why his Brazilian baby-mama bugs me, I’m gel-ous, but I have to admit they look like two peas in a pod here. Look at how they’re slouched over, heavy-lidded, looking at the press line like they’d rather be anywhere else. Then when Matt straightens up and looks a little defiant, she does too – they’re sympatico.

bernie_premiere_14_wenn3399
This really endears them to me, that and Matt’s new thin 70s porn mustache. That scraggly thing over his lip is not hot, so it kind of releases all my pent up feelings of competition with a woman who is younger and hotter than I am. It’s ok, she’s in tune with Matt and his facial hair. They’re raising two adorable kids together and they probably spend their time exercising outdoors, getting stoned and looking through fabric swatches for various projects in their mansion. Their job consists of looking good and showing up to stuff, and they find it mildly annoying despite how well they fit the bill.

fp_7474876_rij_bernie_11_18

Matt and Camila were at the LA film festival last night at the premiere of Bernie, a Linklater film starring McConaughey, Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine. Jack and Shirley were both there, and so was True Blood‘s Carrie Preston (she’s not in it as far as I can find, I just love her), and also John Lithgow (he’s also not listed as in it, but he might be). The movie is about a mortician who kills a local widow and tries to make it seem like she’s alive. I sounds like Weekend at Bernies, but it’s probably much more interesting considering that it’s written and directed by Linklater. Is this the first project he’s done with McConaughey since Dazed and Confused… no there was 1998′s Newton Boys, which I haven’t seen yet.

So did he grow that mustache for a role? I hope so, but I guess in the scheme of things it doesn’t matter. He’s also wearing those light brown boots, so that’s really a double whammy.

I love this picture.
