Here are some photos of Jessica Simpson, Eric Johnson and baby Maxwell Drew out to lunch at King’s Fish House on Saturday in LA. I like how one thing has remained consistent for Jessica through two pregnancies: chica LOVES to eat out. Most of candid photos of Jessica these days are of her entering or leaving a restaurant. Just so. If a pregnant woman wants to have some fish, go ahead. Maxi is looking particularly adorable in these photos too – her hair is getting longer! And I love that Jess “styles” her daughter with little bows and stuff. So cute.

The only thing that bugs me is that mother and daughter are clashing animal prints. Maybe that’s the Southerner in me, but that’s a faux pas! A little animal print goes a long way! Also: Jessica is starting to look much bigger (but she’s still smaller than she was at this point in her first pregnancy). She’s due around the same time as Kim Kardashian, which means Jessica has probably just entered her third trimester.

As for Eric… do you think he’s going to knock her up again just a few months after she gives birth? Like, does he think that will ensure that she keeps him around, if she’s just constantly pregnant? Eric might be trying to lock this down legally, just so Jessica doesn’t have to go through her third pregnancy in three years. Radar reports that Jessica and Eric might have set a date for just after she gives birth to this one:

After canceling a previous wedding date because she became pregnant with her second child, Jessica Simpson has now picked ANOTHER wedding date, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively. Jessica and Eric Johnson have decided they will marry this year and penciled in the date. (Probably better to use pencil rather than pen in case you get pregnant AGAIN, Jessica!)

The happy couple will marry just one month after Jessica, 32, gives birth to her baby boy. The two want a summer wedding this year and have thought about a low-key ceremony in Hawaii, after scoping out venues during their Christmas vacation!

“Jessica and Eric are adamant they want to wed this year,” a source close to the Simpson family tells Radar. “Before they found out Jessica was expecting her second child, they’d already set the wheels in motion for a low-key ceremony. But then, they had to put their plans on ice when they discovered Jessica was pregnant. Plus, she wanted to avoid a clash with her best pal CaCee Cobb who had a wedding back in December.”

“So, Jessica and Eric have had to wait it out for the time being. When they were in Hawaii over the Christmas holidays, they checked out a couple of local spots where a small ceremony could be planned this summer. They’re not completely against exchanging their vows in Los Angeles either, but would prefer to do it anywhere else other than their own home,” the source reveals.

As I’ve said before, I kind of like that Jessica isn’t hellbent on making it official with Eric. I think it shows a shift in her priorities for the better – she’s happy with Eric, she keeps having babies, everything is going well, and that’s her priority, not making a beeline down the aisle. It says to me that she’s choosing substance over style, which is nice for her.

I wonder if Jessica Simpson is capable of giving an interview without oversharing. She’ll tell you basically everything, including her bodily processes, and it seems like more of a compulsion than a shtick, like she has no filter. In her latest interview, with Ellen, she wasn’t bad for her, but she still talked about puking during her pregnancy and not using protection this second time she got pregnant, just a few months after having her first. She basically covered the same ground, and the same topics, that she did on The Tonight Show a couple of months ago. (Back then she explained that her second pregnancy was the result of a one night stand – with her husband fiance.) Jessica is promoting “Fashion Star,” the second season of which premieres on Friday.

Ellen: What’s happening?
Jessica: I don’t know, apparently protection was just thrown out the window.

Ellen: Congratulations.
Jessica: We were definitely extremely shocked.

Ellen: How are you feeling compared to the first pregnancy?
Jessica: This pregnancy is the complete opposite. Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy. This time around…I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.

Ellen: Because you usually like a little bit of a break. You’ve got hands full probably with Maxwell.
Jessica: Absolutely. Maxwell was our focus and then I was puking and lying on the couch.

Ellen: Have you learned anything with the first pregnancy? Are you doing things differently now?

Jessica: Yeah, the first pregnancy I like let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it. This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy. I’m not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off so I’m trying to make healthier, wiser decisions.

But apparently Eric still wanted me so…

Ellen: That’s nice, that’s always nice to know…. Apparently he did.
Jessica: So I can gain as much weight and I will have a husband to be that loves me.

That’s nice that she feels like her husband fiance isn’t bothered by her pregnancy weight gain and she’s not stressing over that. I gained a lot too and my husband didn’t really seem to care, but I still did the diet thing afterwards – for me.

I included that kind of full transcript from the Ellen show because I wanted to show that Ellen wasn’t asking Jessica direct questions. Ellen was just giving very neutral responses and Jessica was launching into her spiel without much prompting. So maybe the whole graphic description overshare is Jessica’s thing and she’s not going to switch it up at this point. It’s probably pretty genuine, for her, and what else is she going to talk about? She has her show and her many fashion lines, but being ditzy and somewhat gross is how she got famous. It’s her bread and butter. She’s even getting a sitcom based on her life, it’s true, and it will probably get worse once that finally happens. It’s all fart jokes from here on out.

Update: I changed references from Jessica’s “husband” to her “fiance”. I keep thinking they’re already married!

Here are some new photos of Jessica Simpson and her fiancé/baby-daddy in LA yesterday. Eric took her to lunch for Valentine’s Day. You know what’s kind of funny/crazy? Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and Duchess Kate are all due around the same time. This just shows you how different women with different body types “show” in completely different ways. Kim has gotten wider but she still doesn’t have much of a bump. Jessica has popped early, as she did with her first pregnancy. And Kate barely has a bump at all. As for Jessica’s weight gain… I really hope everyone isn’t going to start yelling at her. Stop yelling at pregnant women for the weight they gain. It’s just rude. With or without the slutty brownies, Jessica is always going to look super-preggo. That’s just her body type.

Now, as for Eric… what does he do all day? I still don’t know. A few years ago, there were stories about Jessica putting him into some kind of managerial position with her fashion empire, but I’m not sure if that ever panned out. I’m pretty sure Eric gets a paycheck from Jessica INC., I just don’t know what he does exactly. According to Star, Eric recently tried to be a “designer” but it went nowhere.

Jessica Simpson’s fiancé just went from failed NFL player to failed fashion designer. Jessica has scrapped plans to put baby-daddy Eric Johnson in charge of a new menswear line.

Jessica’s business partners reportedly hated Eric’s designs, which a fashion insider describes as a bland collection of jeans, khakis and t-shirts.

“Eric is no designer, that’s for sure,” the spy says. “The idea of a men’s line was nixed as soon as the presentation meeting finished.”

Sure…but the thing is, if you brand yourself correctly and really focus on quality, you could totally make a fortune designing jeans, t-shirts and khakis. But I guess there are enough people doing that these days?

Jessica Simpson has been tweeting some photos while she’s in Hawaii, on vacation with her family. The header photo is the one getting a lot of attention because… obviously. I have to defend Jessica Simpson a little bit, though. It’s not like she was taking selfies of just her rack, you know? Sure, she put on a barely-there bikini top and a cute cover-up and posed for a photo, and then she posted said photo even when she saw that her left b00b was making a run for it… but in her defense, it’s not as bad as it could be. I would be spilling out of that bikini and caftan too. The difference, I suppose, is that I wouldn’t post the photo on my Twitter. I do think Jess looks really cute, though – I always think she looks so young and fresh without makeup.

You know what? I’m going all-in on my bet that they’re getting married in Hawaii. Like, within the next few days, we’ll have an announcement. Here’s the real question/bet though: will Eric shave for the Hawaiian wedding?

Here are some new photos of Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson in Oahu, Hawaii. Is that the same island where the Obamas were vacationing?! Imagine if Jessica Simpson ran into Pres. Obama. I would like to think that Jessica would try to hug him and tell him about her pregnancy. I would like to think that the president would listen too. Of course, Obama has already left Hawaii to return to Washington to work on the fiscal cliff mess. What was I talking about? Oh, right… Jessica Simpson and Eric. You know what? I’ve sort of gotten used to Eric, and I actually think he’s probably a decent, hands-on dad and he probably genuinely loves Jessica… but would it kill the guy to groom? Just a daily shave! Run a comb through his hair. Something.

Their Hawaiian vacation looks really nice. Peaceful. Relaxing. I think in 2013, I’m going to try to take a real vacation at some point. Maybe Hawaii…? There are rumors that Jessica and Eric are going to have a small, quick wedding while in Hawaii – which I could totally see. I hope it hasn’t happened already. Maybe something on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. They have a thing with the number “1″ so maybe 1-1-13?

As for Jessica’s second pregnancy and her Weight Watchers endorsement – well, WW has made lemonade out of the fart-covered lemons that Jessica handed them. Look at this breezy explanation for how everything is going down:

So much for rumors Weight Watchers will dump Jessica Simpson now that she’s pregnant again … the company is actually expanding her role in hocking the diet plan … even though she’s taking a hiatus from the diet regime.

W.W. just announced it will not only continue to run the ads touting Jessica’s alleged 50 lb weight loss … it will also push her new 30-second ad — released today — in which she announces her pregnancy.

Weight Watchers calls Jessica’s weight loss “successful” — notwithstanding the proof of performance ad showing Jessica substantially covered in a flannel shirt.

As for the future, Weight Watchers says Jessica “will not be following the program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being are monitored by her obstetrician.”

Jessica says when she gives birth, she’s going back on the Weight Watchers diet.

So fancy! Jess is on “hiatus” and she WILL come back after she pops out this second baby. This is totally a Weight Watchers Mafia move: it’s like they’re saying, “We own you. You took the $4 million so NOW WE OWN YOU.” I wonder how many lawyers had to work on this wording.

A lot of you used to yell at me when I referred to Jessica Simpson’s lover/boyfriend/baby-daddy/fiancé as her “K-Fed”. Eric was a professional football player, and now that he’s retired, his main job seems to be “taking Jessica out to eat” and “having sex with Jessica Simpson”. He plays a lot of golf too. And there were a lot of rumors that Jessica put Eric on her business payroll, so he gets a check for “advising” her on various things too. So… it’s all pretty sketchy, although I will admit that Eric has always seemed like a half-way decent guy, and he seems to love being a dad to baby Maxwell. But Star Magazine is trying to start some sh-t! Star/Radar claims Eric might have still been sexually involved with his ex-wife when he started up with Jessica:

The Dukes Of Hazard star may have thought that her future husband’s marriage to Keri Johnson was well and truly over by the time she started dating him, but sources exclusively tell Star that the former NFL player was actually sleeping with both of them at the same time.

The news shouldn’t come as any surprise to Simpson, who knew that Johnson was still married to the freelance stylist when the pair first met at a mutual friend’s house in Los Angeles, where he had even brought Keri along as his date!

The couple was already having problems, but it wasn’t until later when they officially decided to take a break, “hoping it would ultimately make their marriage stronger,” according to one of Keri’s confidantes.

Meanwhile, Eric jumped headfirst into his relationship with the sexy singer, which sparked outrage with his ex-wife’s friends.

“He’s a two-timing cheat!” alleges one pal. “He was still having sex with Keri after he started seeing Jessica. She needs to think twice before marrying him. He’s already cheated on her once — he’ll most likely do it again.”

Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Eric and Jessica, who recently welcomed their first child, daughter Maxwell, will be tying the knot anytime soon, and the bride-to-be even told Katie Couric that they haven’t set a date yet.

“It won’t be this year,” she told the talk show host. “I really want to do a big, fun wedding with my friends and family.”

Is it just me or is this really old news? Those of us who were paying attention when Jessica first got with Eric already knew that he had some sketchiness with his ex-wife. Like, they were trying to reconcile and then he met Jessica and the reconciliation was OVER. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was overlap in those first few months, and for that… well, all of them are sketchballs. But it’s not like this “cheating scandal” involves Eric currently cheating on his baby-mama. Right?!?

Do you care about new, personal photos of Jessica Simpson and her baby? Why not? I thought we all liked photos of babies. Personally, I’d rather look at photos of puppies or kittens or fashion trainwrecks, but babies make my top ten. Anyway, Jessica Simpson has been “guest editor” (“Queen of the Farts,” I say) for iVillage all week. Jessica released some of these photos on iVillage (the black-and-white pics), and some of them she released on her own site (for Eric’s birthday). I think Maxi is a cutie – and she seems like a really happy baby too! I actually love the photo of Maxi laughing while Eric holds her. Here’s some of the stuff Jessica has said on iVillage:

That one quote bugs the hell out of me: “It’s really great to have given him a blessing like this — to be able to bring [Maxwell] into his life. It makes me feel really good that I could do that for him.” I’m not going to harp on and on about that and overanalyze it to death (I’ll let you guys do that!), but it does bug me. I think I know what she’s trying to say… that her baby is a blessing, and he’s a great dad, etc. But the way she words it… it makes me uncomfortable.

Jessica Simpson just tweeted this photo of herself, Eric Johnson and baby Maxwell on the 4th of July. The photo looks so perfect, my first thought was “Wow, is that the ‘fireworks’ backdrop at a professional photo studio?” But I think it’s for real. Somebody just managed to take a beautiful photo of the Simpson-Johnson family. My thoughts, in no particular order:

*I like that Eric is holding the baby! I hope he turns out to be a great, low-key dad. My body language analysis of this photo – and previous photos of the couple – is that he actually does adore Jessica and he’s happy with his new family.

*Jessica is so pretty without makeup. She doesn’t need to wear a stitch of it and she’s still radiant.

*Little Maxwell is a big baby! I love that Maxi is really looking more and more gingery and brunette as opposed to blonde. I have no doubt that when the baby gets a little bigger, her mom will be putting Sun-In in her hair, trying to make it blonder.

*Little Maxwell looks like her dad, right? Like, I can barely see any of Jessica in there. It’s all Eric at this point.

Us Weekly has some nice quotes from “sources” close to the family – probably Papa Joe, but whatever. The quotes are nice. A source says, “Eric loves holding Maxwell — that is, when he can manage to get her away from Jessica… Everyone is marveling at what a natural Jessica is. She was born to be a mom.”

Last thing – there were rumors earlier this week that Jessica was going to launch a “bridal collection” to her very successful fashion line, but E! News says that rumor is false. I do think she’s going to go ahead with a full-blown maternity line, though.

Whenever I’ve written about Jessica Simpson in the past week, I’ve sort of idly wondered if she did end up having a C-section, as was widely reported before the birth of little Maxwell Drew. I wouldn’t blame Jessica if she did have a C-section – she was so big, and seriously, WHY NOT? I don’t get judgy about elective C-sections. This week’s In Touch Weekly – the publication that correctly identified Jessica’s baby name – says that Jessica totally had a C-section and that it was “painful.”

Of course, this piece of information comes in a story that I don’t put a lot of stock in – it’s all about how Jessica is going right back to work immediately, which… isn’t happening. Sure, Jessica has got the deal with Weight Watchers, but I don’t see her starting that for several months. In Touch also says Jessica gained a total of “80 pounds” while pregnant. Do you believe that? I’d say 50-60 pounds – remember, Jessica is a short girl, and remember where Jessica started out. Thankfully, In Touch says that Eric Johnson is encouraging Jessica to take it easy, to spend time with the baby and to not stress out over the weight. This seems to be the new theme in this week’s tabloids - “Eric is actually an okay father.” The Enquirer has a story about that too, and I enjoyed the hell out of it:

Proud mama Jessica Simpson says since she gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew, fiancé Eric Johnson has turned from macho to marshmellow.

“Eric is crazy about Max and can’t stop staring at her,” revealed a source close to the couple. “He was excited when Jess told him she was pregnant, but he never dreamed he’d fall so deeply in love with his baby girl so fast.”

“Both Jess and Eric are infatuated with baby Max that she’s always in the arms of either her mommy or her daddy,” said the source. “She weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces at birth and is like a little Butterball turkey. Her chubby cheeks and roly-poly legs crack up Jess and Eric. Jessica is still tired from the birth and trying to catch up on her sleep. But Eric has been getting up in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning just to look at his new daughter and listen to her breathe.”

“Eric’s been singing silly songs and talking like a baby to Max,” said the source. “And Jessica is having a great time watching the two bond. Life has never been better for them.”

“She…is like a little Butterball turkey. Her chubby cheeks and roly-poly legs crack up Jess and Eric.” Are newborns ever that roly-poly? Aren’t they mostly wrinkled, and then they start getting the “chubby baby legs” when they’re, like, two months old? I have no idea. Because I’m not a baby person. If you want to talk about dogs, that’s my wheelhouse. Anyway, I did like that Enquirer story. I mean, of course Eric really doesn’t have anything else to do but be a good dad – it’s not like Eric has a job or anything. He’s a total K-Fed. But it’s nice that he’s being super-supportive and that he’s already enchanted by his little girl.

Last month, In Touch reported that Jessica Simpson had dropped out of Lamaze pregnancy preparation classes and had scheduled a c-section with her obstetrician. According to In Touch, Jessica realized during Lamaze that natural childbirth wasn’t for her at all. Plus her sister Ashlee had three days of labor when she gave birth to her son, and Jessica wanted to avoid all that. Well apparently Jessica’s childbirth decision isn’t sitting well with her fiance, Eric Johnson, who wants her to have medication-free water birth. Johnson is a committed vegan and I would bet this story is true.

As Jessica Simpson’s due date approaches [she] is butting heads with fiance Eric Johnson over how she should give birth.

The 31 year-old… wants a C-Section but her… beau thinks she should deliver naturally, says sources…

“Jessica initially wanted a natural birth but changed her mind,” a source close to the star told The Enquirer. “And now she’s fighting with Eric about the delivery.

“He thinks the baby should have a natural water birth, while she wants to have a C-section so she doesn’t have to deal with a prolonged labor or pain.

“She’s tired of carrying the baby, feeling boated and experiencing the usual inconveniences of being pregnant.

“And with the hormones really kicking in, Jessica put her foot down. If she wants a C-section, I am sure she’ll get one.”

Late last year, The Enquirer reported that Jessica was planning for a home birth and a vegan upbringing for her baby. Thankfully she reporedly gave up the idea of raising the child vegan, if this story is accurate. I buy that she also changed her mind on childbirth and was like “hell no” and that Eric is pushing back. Jessica is having the damn baby, not Eric. He can give his input but he better respect her position when it comes to a decision as personal as childbirth.

The Enquirer also adds the detail that Jessica is due on March 27. All she’s said about it is that she’s having “a spring baby.” (That’s at the end of this video.) There’s also news that Jessica is having a girl! She told Billy Bush that she didn’t know the sex of the baby, but People reports that she was shopping for pink baby items a few days ago.
