Heather Mills says her daughter forced to travel B class, but she got 33 million

The final numbers are in for the Mills McCartney divorce settlement, and The Daily Mail overestimated slightly this weekend with their prediction of a $50 million lump sum payment plus child support. Mills will get $33 million plus $15.6 million in assets. It’s a lot of money but is only a fraction of her husband’s net worth, which the judge put at $800 million but Mills claims is closer to $1.65 billion. Mills was married to McCartney for four years and they have a four and a half year old daughter, Beatrice.

Mills gave a long rambling press conference after she left court this morning. She said she was pleased with the settlement and talked about how smart she was for handling it herself and saving £600k which will now go to charity. She didn’t seem to grasp that she could have been awarded even more money if she would have kept her high-powered legal team. She also talked about how she was wronged by McCartney’s divorce attorney, and said “Fiona Shackleton [McCartney’s lawyer] has very sadly handled this case in the worst manner you could ever imagine. She has called me many, many names before meeting me when I was in a wheelchair.”

Ms Mills also launched an angry outburst against her husband’s victory on where their daughter would live and how much she would get each year.

“Beatrice gets £35,000 a year. She is meant to travel B-class when her father travels A-class.

“Paul has always wanted Beatrice to go to a state school. He insisted that he wanted us to move to that area [East Sussex] - £35,000 includes £17,000 for school fees.”

“He tried to get our daughter with joint residency, even though we had gone 50-50. In that way he has got everything he wanted, but that’s what powerful people get.”

Ms Mills complained about the judge’s assessment of her husband’s wealth.

“He also said that Paul is only worth £400 million. Everyone knows that he has been worth £800 million for the last 15 years.

“Paul has always wanted it public because he wants to look like generous Sir Paul.”

“I was locked out of every home. I really hope now that me and my daughter can have a life and not be followed every day. Apart from one television thing I have stayed quiet for 21 months. If the judgment had been kept private I would not be out here speaking.”

She added: “I can’t leave England. Believe me if I tried to go he’d have an injunction on me in a second.”

Describing herself as a “campaigning girl” she called on people to represent themselves in court but urged couples to do their best to resolve their problems immediately.

She said: “I’m so glad it’s over, it was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter’s future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with - because you know it has been my life for 20 years.

“Obviously the court do not want a litigant in person to do well, it’s against everything that they ever wish, so when they write the judgment up they’re never going to make it look in favour.

“But all of you that have researched know that it was always going to be a figure between £20 and £30 million, Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you’ll see in the judgment, and very much last minute to put me and Beatrice sadly through this … incredibly sad.”

[From The Daily Mail]

Wow, Heather Mills, your daughter was so wronged by only getting $70k a year to live on. That’s just $35,000 after school fees. How is she ever going to eat and clothe herself? I don’t suppose you could spare some of that $33 million plus you just got to go toward your daughter’s travel expenses so she doesn’t have to fly coach business class. Having to attend public school and travel second class are such hardships for a child.

Unlike Heather Mills, Sir Paul just said “Thank you” and waved as he left court.

Update: thanks to commentor nylon for pointing out that Heather was bitching about “B class,” not coach. “B class” probably means business class. That’s even less of a complaint.

Also, here’s a clip of part of Heather’s speech outside court. Thanks to MSNBC and Redlasso.

Heather Mills’ divorce settlement is reportedly $50 million plus (update)

millsrich1.jpg
If you are a woman who is lucky or conniving enough to snare a billionaire, the key to ensuring your future wealth is to get knocked up as soon as possible. Heather Mills married billionaire musician and widower Sir Paul McCartney, who is reported to be worth £825 million, $1.65 billion USD, in June, 2002. Their daughter Beatrice was born in October, 2003. In May, 2006 they announced their official separation. Reports put Heather Mills’ lump sum divorce settlement at £25 million, or $50 million USD, an amount that was determined by the judge and is expected to be officially announced on Monday.

That makes around $17,000 a day for every day Mills was with McCartney. She will also receive a “maintenance” payment, or child support, every year until Beatrice is 18. The exact amount Mills will receive in child support may be kept private by the courts, but it could be £1.5 a year, or $3 million USD, which would bring her final settlement up to around $93 million USD.

Heather Mills is to receive a divorce settlement of up to £46million from Sir Paul McCartney.

The former model will get an immediate lump sum payment of £25million from the ex-Beatle.

But she has told friends she also hopes to be given maintenance of up to £1.5million a year as the main carer of the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Beatrice, until the girl turns 18.

Since it is directly related to Beatrice however, the maintenance figure may never be made public in the settlement handed down by High Court judge Mr Justice Bennett.

Miss Mills, 40, had been fighting for £2.5million a year from 65-year-old Sir Paul to cover such costs as security for her and her daughter.

But she is understood to be expecting much less in the final agreement, which is also linked to a confidentiality clause.

Mr Justice Bennett is yet to officially tell either party his decision on the level of any annual payment – if indeed any is given.

Details of the settlement were reportedly contained in a preliminary High Court judgment sent to the estranged couple and their legal advisers this week.

The official verdict will be handed down on Monday, bringing an end to one of the most costly and acrimonious divorce battles in British history. Legal bills alone could be as high as £10million.

The judge sent each team of lawyers his preliminary judgment on the lump sum this week under strict orders not to reveal the contents.

Neither party is likely to object to the basic details being divulged.

A source said: “On an analysis of the case law, Mills was always going to receive around £25million. I think it’s fair to say the judge has not erred from that.

[From The Daily Mail]

We’ll have to see on Monday if this is true, as the Daily Mail has been incorrect with previous scoops on the Mills-McCartney divorce.

If this story is accurate, the woman that quickly became one of England’s most hated will be walking away with about 3% of her ex husband’s net worth along with substantial ongoing child support, and more than enough to live on for the rest of her life. The real test now is how much Mills, an ardent animal rights activist, will give to charity and if she will start her own charity with this windfall.

Whatever she does, I think I speak for a lot of people by wishing that she would keep a low profile. The public is fed up with seeing her sneering mug all over the papers. She’s said that she might move to Poland or the Czech Republic, but it’s doubtful she’ll be happy living out of the spotlight. She’ll want us to watch her spend that money. Look for a trip to LA in Mills’ immediate future.

Update: The official settlement in the Mills McCartney divorce was $33 million plus $15.6 million in assets.

Heather Mills’ father says she’s greedy

greedy.jpg
Does anyone like Heather Mills? She might have been voted one of Britain’s sexiest women, but I’m not sure you have to like someone to be sexually attracted to them. Her father is the latest person to come out and say she’s not exactly the poster child for a good divorce. In fact, the word he uses is “greedy”

Mark Mills claims his 40-year-old daughter should have settled months ago after the former Beatle made his first big money offer. He says, “He’s offered her multi-millions. She should take that and stop what she’s doing. It’s plenty.

“She’s being greedy. How much does she need?”

Contact Music

I absolutely agree that she is greedy. Paul McCartney has come to her defense saying that Heather didn’t marry him for money, but she is clearly divorcing him for the cash! While I appreciate that as a single mother she does need to care for her daughter, and given that Paul has two other children she needs to do her best to protect their daughter Beatrice’s inheritance, but it seems to me she is exactly what her father says: greedy. Paul is said to have offered her a rumored £15 million settlement, which she supposedly rejected, with the amount to now be determined by the judge.

The divorce is going to be settled on March 17, and it will be public property. Hopefully the judge does not decide to split Sir Paul’s assets in half, but instead gives Heather and Beatrice a home to live in, and a nominal amount of money that represents the fact that Paul and Heather were only married for four years.

One reason that Heather might not be able to agree to settle is that Sir Paul wants to stop her talking about their relationship. Hopefully the judge agrees with him, and gets her mouth sewn up.

Note by Celebitchy: Heather Mills has accused her father of hitting her in the past, and he spoke out against his daughter in October, 2006 calling her a “liar” and saying that “They were false allegations about me and she’s doing the same thing now to him. The difference is that I can’t defend myself whereas McCartney can. I hope he really goes to town. Heather is mad. She’s doing it for the money.” [From Contact Music]

Paul McCartney to dedicate Brit Awards performance to Linda

Paul McCartney will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Brit Awards tonight. The former Beatle will be performing “Live and Let Die” during the ceremony and dedicating the performance to his deceased wife Linda. Some say the dedication is a deliberate move to snub his most recent former wife, Heather Mills.

Paul McCartney will send a stinging message to Heather Mills tonight when he dedicates his lifetime achievement award at the Brits to his first wife Linda.

In a clear snub to his estranged wife, Mail Online can reveal McCartney will perform as the grand finale of the biggest event in the music calendar the track Live And Let Die – as a tribute to his late wife who died of breast cancer ten years ago next month.

The track was written in considerably happier times in 1973 when he was living with Linda and their young children James, Stella and Mary at the family estate in Peasmarsh in Sussex.

Linda and Sir Paul wrote the track together. They were even Oscar-nominated as a duo for the song which was the soundtrack for the James Bond film of the same name.

…Speaking during backstage rehearsals for the Brits at Earl’s Court, Sir Paul told the Mail: ‘”‘Live And Let Die’ is the song that reminds me of Linda. ‘Hey Jude’ reminds me of John.”

[From The Daily Mail]

Paul made some waves earlier in the week when he didn’t show at divorce court on the very day a settlement agreement with Heather Mills was supposed to be worked out. Turns out that McCartney wasn’t blowing off court– he had previously notified Mills’ lawyer that he was rehearsing that day for the Brit Awards performance.

Sir Paul, who spent the past week battling it out in the High Court with Miss Mills over his estimated £825 million fortune, will also sing Hey Jude in dedication to his dear departed bandmate John Lennon who died in December 1980.

As the Mail revealed earlier in the week, Sir Paul stood up Heather in the High Court on Monday. She turned up thinking they were going to sign a historic £55 million divorce deal.

But Sir Paul did not show without warning. It has now emerged that he was at Earl’s Court at the time, rehearsing his Live and Let Die Brits finale as a tribute to Linda.

The Brit Awards are the UK equivalent to the Grammys. Also scheduled to perform are Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” producer Mark Ronson, Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Mika, X-Factor winner Leona Lewis, and the Kaiser Chiefs.

No settlement was reached in the Mills McCartney divorced, judge to decide

spx-018185.jpg
We were all too ready to believe the Daily Mail’s story that Heather Mills had sauntered away from Friday’s court hearing with a cool $108 million settlement. She didn’t exactly have a poker face on as left the courtroom in one of her bizarre velvet power suits, opting for sandal-like open-toed shoes for the second day in a row. $108 million is a sweet settlement for just four years of marriage, and you would believe that McCartney would throw it at the harpy just to get this business over with. He’s said to be worth about $1.6 billion dollars, so $108 million is just 6.75% if my math is right. It’s a shit load of money to pay to a woman who has been smearing your name in the press, but it’s still way less then half your net worth. When you’re talking numbers that large though it’s not like either party is going to suffer.

Like a lot of the stories that originate in the British press that Heather Mills bitches about constantly, that one was false, though. Paul’s lawyer announced today outside of court that no settlement has been reached and that it is now up to the judge to decide how much Heather gets for fucking Sir Paul for a short period of time before making his life miserable. It is expected to take several weeks for the judge to work out.

It’s not like we’re going to know how much she gets to keep throwing parties and jet setting around for the rest of her life, the amount will not be made public unless Mills contests it or decides to tell us. We’ll have to make due with whatever number the British press wants to make up, just like in the past.

It is expected that Heather Mils will leave England once she gets her cash. Her father said she is considering France or the US, and the unreliable Daily Mail reported that she wanted to move to the Czech Republic or Poland. A lot of Brits are saying “Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out,” while residents of the countries named where she may move are crossing their fingers that she picks somewhere else to go.

Heather Mills & Paul McCartney agree on $108 million settlement

It appears the nasty divorce settlement proceedings between Heather Mills and Paul McCartney are finally over. After two years of petty squabbling, the two have finally reached a settlement, according to several reputable news outlets. Heather will get $40 million in a lump sum up front, and an additional $5 million a year until the couple’s daughter Beatrice turns 18 in 14 years.

Power-dressed in a black-velvet three-piece pantsuit with a crimson blouse, the former model and social activist couldn’t hide her joy as she walked from London’s High Court yesterday, smiling broadly at everyone.

As part of the deal, Mills agreed to never speak publicly or write in detail about the breakdown of the marriage, according to the Daily Mail. The accord came after Mills and McCartney had gone nose to nose in court for five days last week.

Mills will have main custody of Beatrice, but McCartney, whose fortune is estimated at $1.2 billion, will have equal visitation rights. Beatrice’s 65-year-old dad also agreed to set up a $2 million trust fund that she can access when she turns 18, according to the Daily Mail. Mills plans to live with Beatrice in Britain and either Poland or the Czech Republic, where she hopes to buy a home.

A source told the Daily Mail a verbal agreement was reached just before lunch. “They have a settlement,” a source said. “They have agreed on all points. Nothing much has changed this week. There was a deal at the beginning, but it was a complex one. There have been a few tweaks to the agreements, but those have been mostly changes Heather wanted made.” A hearing, perhaps the final one, is scheduled for Monday.

[From the Daily News]

Now Heather can fade away into obscurity, just like she’s been threatening. Most of us hoped it was a promise instead of a threat. Unfortunately Poland and the Czech Republic are not Antarctica/Outer Space like the rest of the world was hoping, but it’s better than nothing. Poor Beatrice having to grow up with such a loon for a mother. Heather wore a bizarre velvet pinstriped suit to court on Friday. It had big lapels and a horrible red shirt underneath. It was very 1993 of her. I’m fairly certain Sir Paul agreed to the settlement just so he wouldn’t have to look at that ensemble anymore. And that “face” of Heather’s doesn’t help. I don’t think face is even the right word. Something more like, “run over cheese pizza” is a more accurate description for the combination of features stuck onto the front of Heather Mills’ head. On the off chance Ms Mills doesn’t fade away into obscurity as threatened, I’m sure she’ll be bitching and moaning with that hideously malformed mouth of hers in the next week or two.

Heather Mills and Paul McCartney can’t agree on daughter’s school

I am so jealous of the lucky few who are privy to the details and daily histrionics in the Heather Mills-Paul McCartney divorce. It’s already being called “The Divorce of the Century.” Unfortunately, the proceedings are closed to the public– but somehow, news about what’s happening behind those closed doors seems to find its way to the media. Lucky for us!

The latest feud between the estranged couple concerns the education of their four-year-old daughter, Beatrice. Reportedly, Paul feels that Bea should attend public school, just like his older children did when they were young.

He wants her education to be like that of his three other children Stella, Mary and James.

Private education, in his estimation, “messes up” children and he hopes Beatrice would gain from being grounded by the experience of state schooling.

Sir Paul has told friends how his other children had “certainly turned out all right”.

Stella is a successful fashion designer with stores in such places as London’s New Bond Street. Mary is similarly successful as a fashion photographer and James is working in the music industry.

[From The Daily Mail]

However, Heather Mills, in typical, money-grubbing fashion, insists that the pre-schooler should attend a high-end private school. She claims that Bea’s life is at risk in a public school and she needs 24-hour security.

Meanwhile, the Sun is claiming that Paul has once again offered Mills a lump sum of cash to call off the spectacle and get a quiet divorce. He previously offered Mills £10 million to get lost, which she turned down. It’s reported that Mills won’t settle for anything less than £100 million.

ANGRY Sir Paul McCartney told his lawyer to offer Heather Mills £30million to “get her off my back”, it was claimed yesterday.

The order came as he was walking to lunch with £500-an-hour legal eagle Fiona Shackleton.

He was overheard by stunned Mike Pritchard, leaving London’s Royal Courts of Justice at the same time.

Mike, 59, from Cardiff, said: “I had been at another case. I was about a yard behind them.

“He was very irate and told his lawyer, ‘Offer her £30million — get her off my back’.

[From The Sun]

Maybe Paul should hold onto his millions, though, because News of the World is reporting that Mills spent the last six months of their marriage having a torrid affair. British film editor Tim Steel supplied some pretty explicit details about his time with Heather in an exclusive interview, saying that Heather showed him affectionate text messages Paul had sent her, just before hopping into bed with him.

“I didn’t mind—I suppose I was flattered that Heather still wanted to have sex with me despite being pursued by this musical demi-god,” says Tim, breaking his silence on an affair that will stun the nation.

“Heather was insatiable between the sheets and she liked to call me her four-times-a-night guy. Our record was six.”

“Most of the time it was multiple orgasms. Heather has a very unusual erogenous zone—her stump. I used to massage one particular sensitive area of it and give her an orgasm!

“But it was strange lying in bed talking about Paul McCartney. I would be with her when he called or texted her. She’d even show me the texts!”

Leeds-born Tim’s shocking account of their affair will deal a heavy blow to 65-year-old Macca’s pride—and put a time-bomb under Mucca’s bid to squeeze an £80million pay-off out of the pop legend.

[From News of the World]

First of all–gross! Second of all, as much as I would love to believe this story, because I loathe Heather Mills, this is News of the World. If this guy really was sleeping with Mills, wouldn’t Paul’s lawyer be all over this?

Hopefully, Heather is exposed for the gold-digger she is, and doesn’t get a dime. Either way, this divorce is generating enough tawdry gossip to last a lifetime.

Heather Mills brings a makeup artist and personal trainer to divorce court

Sometimes, I tell myself, “Self, you should really stop picking on Heather Mills. I mean, at this point it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.” But then Heather does something else ridiculous, and I just can’t help myself. During day two of the McCartney-Mills divorce trial, Heather showed up in court with an entourage, including her sister, another friend, her makeup artist and her personal trainer. Heather is representing herself in the divorce and so far, she is behaving like a buffoon. Wait–I’m going to try to be nice and say that maybe she didn’t realize most lawyers don’t take breaks to workout or have their makeup done in the middle of a trial.

Vain Heather arrived at court yesterday — flanked by a posse of sidekicks, including her personal trainer and MAKE-UP artist.

The ex-model, dubbed Mucca over her porn past, also brought her sister Fiona, a female pal, a minder, a chauffeur — and a lone solicitor to advise on legal protocol as she represents herself in court.

Heather, pleading her own case after she was dumped by her lawyers, aims to wring up to £100million out of former Beatle Macca, who is said to have an £825million fortune.

[From The Sun]

100 million? She must be smoking Amy Winehouse’s old stash. Court witnesses say that Mills started her case by showing lovey-dovey photos of Paul and her together, to establish that she was the singer’s “rock,” and therefore deserved a cut of his fortune. Rock? Maybe….the rock tied around Paul’s NECK. But she didn’t stop there: Mills also likened herself to Princess Diana in open court.

It is understood she also screened a video likening herself to Princess Diana — claiming she was hounded by paparazzi and needed 24-hour security to avoid the same fate.

Oh, if only. That may be true, she is hounded by paparazzi– but what does it have to do with her demand for 100 million? She brought that on herself by acting like an insufferable bitch.

Paul, for his part, seemed “relaxed” and smiled as he entered the courtroom with his lawyer. And no, he didn’t have a makeup artist, personal trainer, spiritual adviser or anyone else with him. However, when Heather saw her ex, she immediately bolted for the bathroom– the first of four bathroom breaks she took during the court session. No word on whether the makeup artist went with her.

Heather Mills Thinks She’s a Lawyer

spx-015871.jpg
That Heather Mills– she’s just so talented! Not only does she lend her considerable charm, grace and credibility to such organizations as Vegetarians International Voice for Animals (VIVA), but now she is also starting what I’m sure will be a brilliant career as a lawyer. Mills dropped her legal counsel in her divorce war against Paul McCartney, and is not only representing herself in a hearing against her estranged husband next week, but also plans on suing her former firm for giving her ‘bad legal advice.’ This is the same firm used by Princess Diana in her divorce from Prince Charles.

Heather Mills is set to sue her former divorce lawyers for bad advice - even though she already owes them £2million in fees.

The latest legal action comes as Ms Mills prepares to go face-to-face with her estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney for a dramatic five-day divorce hearing that will decide how much she receives from his estimated £825 million fortune.

Ms. Mills, 40, will represent herself at the High Court hearing, which begins on Monday, having split from her divorce lawyers Mishcon de Reya. Insolvency lawyers at Mishcons are now pursuing Ms. Mills for almost 20 months of unpaid bills and are expected to launch a legal action in the next two weeks.

A source close to Ms. Mills told the Evening Standard: “There is a possibility of Heather Mills counter-suing. Whatever she owes Mishcons - whether it’s £1 million or £2 million - one would have expected her to get something for it and one fails to see what they [Mishcons] got her. There has been no divorce settlement and no outcome over all this time so draw your own conclusion as to the service she received from Mishcons.”

[From From This is London UK]

I like the way Heather thinks. There’s been no divorce settlement, and no agreement by Paul’s lawyers over her extravagant and delusional demands, so surely its her lawyer’s fault, not hers! Her ex-law firm has fought back against Heather’s claim they poorly advised her, saying that she never followed their suggestions in the first place.

Sources said the firm will defend the advice it gave Ms Mills and suggested lawyers were frustrated that she often refused to take the legal advice given.

The slur will raise eyebrows as Ms Mills was being represented by Anthony Julius, the Mishcon litigator who also handled Princess Diana’s divorce from Prince Charles and whose wife died from cancer in October.

Mishcons has now put the matter into the hands of its head of insolvency.

A source at Mishcons said today: “We expect a claim to go in against Ms Mills in the next few weeks.”

The former spouses are scheduled to face off in court next week, and sources say that neither side has come anywhere close to agreeing on a settlement. Early in the separation, Paul reportedly offered Heather £15 million, which she refused. I’m wiling to be that amount looks pretty good to her now.

Paul McCartney refused to stop drinking for his heart

evilheather.jpg

The Daily Mail is reporting that Heather Mills may not be quite as 100% evil like we thought. There’s a chance she is only 97% evil – and apparently three percent either way can make a big difference. The Mail is reporting that Sir Paul McCartney has a variety of moderately serious heart ailments. He was diagnosed with a heart murmur two years ago and was put on Warfarin, a blood thinner. Warfarin has a really long list of medications you can’t take with it, and you can’t drink. But Sir Paul refused to quit, and needed to have a coronary angioplasty in September – though it’s not clear if that was the result of his refusal to quit drinking while on the Warfarin. Heather Mills’ people are claiming that many of the couples’ fights were due to her insistence that he stop drinking and take better care of himself. However the Daily Mail points out that the emergence of McCartney’s heart murmur coincided with the breakdown of his relationship, and intimates that the relationship problems caused the murmur, and not the other way around.

It is alleged that despite being told by doctors that alcohol consumption does not mix well with the anti-coagulant drug, he refused to stop drinking. That refusal is said to have led to a number of rows with his now-estranged wife. It emerged last week that Sir Paul had coronary angioplasty operation to increase blood flow to his heart in September.

A source told a U.S. newspaper: “This was a major source of problems between him and Heather Mills. He was receiving electrical shocks over the two years on his chest to help with his heart and was under strict instructions to stop drinking completely, which he didn’t do. It’s not a threatening condition, he just needs to take better care of himself.”

It was even claimed yesterday that Miss Mills postponed a hip operation in April 2006 for her husband to have heart treatment. The source told the New York Post: “He was abusing his body. She (Mills) focused on him first.”

[From the Daily Mail]

McCartney’s people aren’t agreeing with the claims and have said they think the stories were planted by Heather or her publicist. Considering everything we know about her, I have a hard time believing Heather Mills did much of anything selflessly for someone else, including her husband. I can imagine her berating and lecturing him, but that’s not exactly the most effective way to get a person to take better care of himself. If anything, it just makes them want to drink more.
