Did Eva Longoria mess with her face, or is her foundation just too light?

Eva Longoria
Here’s Eva Longoria last night vs. Eva Longoria a couple of months ago. She looks like a Kardashian now, doesn’t she? At first I thought that Eva might just have way too much makeup on, and that her foundation might be too light in the center of her face. She usually does that same heavy-handed makeup look, though. Her face is way puffier than usual and it’s not a simple case of weight gain (which would look good on her if it were normal) or different makeup. She looks like she’s had some fillers, and it looks really weird and unnatural to me. People are going to say she looks the same, as that’s what always happens on these plastic surgery/injectables posts. Just look at her closely first. Something is off now and she was so much prettier before!

Eva was at the “Hollywood Style Awards,” and she was one of the big “gets” at the event, which also drew Mandy Moore, Khloe Kardashian (Kaiser covered her goth look here) and Kristin Davis. In terms of Eva’s look, it’s not bad. It’s a boring dress but she’s showcasing her gorgeous body at least. Eva was in Victoria Beckham, and Victoria wore that same dress in blue on the same day while out and about. Oops!

Rose McGowan’s face also looked pretty tweaked, but she always looks like this. She looks like she’s on something. Like Mandy Moore below, Rose paired red pumps with a black dress, but it’s too much on Rose with the velvet peep toes and the tiny lace-trimmed dress.

Kristin Davis was in vintage red Azarro. That dress is kind of shapeless but I think she really pulls it off with her lovely hair and makeup. She looks so pretty! Is she wearing platform shoes though?

When did Mandy Moore get so hot? She looks great here, and I love the red shoes.

Jaime King in a colorblock sheath with a see-through bottom panel. That dress might work with different shoes, but the solid chunky shoes just ruin it! I’m not a fan of the high bun that’s so popular lately.

Kyle and Kendall Jenner (Kardashian). They’re still just 16 and 14. Just wait, they’re going to be all over the place soon.

Lea Michelle in a beige drawstring dress at Fashion Week: hideous or not bad?

fp_7863276_michelelea_wang_scp_04_09

Over the weekend, a number of semi-celebrities were out in full force at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at in New York City. Since I’m not nearly as well versed in fashion as Kaiser, I’ll try to make the best of my limited knowledge here with this trio of B to C-listers who turned out for the front rows. First up, here’s Lea Michelle, who attended the Alexander Wang show in a stretchy beige drawstring sack. She paired the non-eventful dress with bright blue Nico pumps by Brian Atwood. Is this a reverse trend of the nude shoes that we often see with brightly colored dresses these days? Who knows, but I cannot think of a single actress or model who could pull off this look except maybe Paz de la Huerta, who wouldn’t be so much “pulling it off” as continuing her trend of being a total hot mess.

fp_7863279_michelelea_wang_scp_07_09

Rose McGowan, however, did not go for the beige look. She wore a bright pink dress with purple heels at the Charlotte Ronson show. Rose looks cute here although she went too matchy with the lipstick and blush, and I’m not too sold on the black tulle detailing at the bottom of the dress:

fp_7863681_charlotteronson_guest_nyc_18_27

Meanwhile, Peaches Geldof donned a shapeless vintage dress for the Y-3 show. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, Thomas Cohen, who (for whatever reason) wore distressed jeans and made a grand personal statement by leaving out the socks. Those shoes must smell horrible by now, but that’s nothing new when it comes to matters involving Peaches:

wenn3506630

Don’t worry, The Fug Girls don’t get Peaches either and had a ringside report from the front row:

“Ugh,” said a girl next to us. “Peaches Geldof. I don’t know what she does besides sit on people’s laps at fashion shows.” And, indeed, there was Peaches Geldorf, wearing a silver lam&ecute; dress and perched in the front row atop the lap of a dude with a bob. Regardless of her raison d’être, Peaches was photographed as fanatically as if she had a mile-long IMDb page. One of the snappers we spoke to explained that pictures of Peaches mean big money in British markets, so maybe we just don’t get her appeal because we’re Americans. Then again, we have no problem understanding Kate Middleton’s appeal, so maybe the problem here is that we just don’t speak Geldof.

[From NY Mag]

Peaches still looks super skinny here. I’m still holding out a small grain of hope that she’s actually picked up some healthy habits instead of taking the drug-related shortcut to thinness that’s so popular with starlets worldwide.

Rose McGowan escaped from a cult – when she was nine

wenn3471633
Rose McGowan is in that Conan the Barbarian movie that totally tanked at the box office. So she did an interview with People, and she earned an inset on the cover featuring their Kim Kardashian wedding extravaganza this week. Yahoo! has the details of her “escape from a cult,” and while I was hoping it involved a recent tell-all scrape with the Co$, it’s actually about a polygamist cult her family was involved with when she was a child. The story is really harrowing, with Rose and her family leaving in the night and getting pursued by the cult members. Apparently her dad was worried that she would get sexually abused, because the cult advocated relations with children. That gives me the willies.

McGowan, 38, spoke with People about how she spent her childhood in the Children of God cult. The sect is a “polygamous cult that blended free-love attitudes with Christian proselytizing.” At age nine she escaped the cult with her father after he became fearful that Rose might be sexually abused.

While in the cult, McGowan tells People she was often either angry or terrified. “You weren’t allowed to have imperfections,” she explained. “I had a little wart on my thumb, and I remember walking down this hallway — a door opened and some adult grabbed me and just cut it off with a razor blade and stuck me back out in the hallway with it still bleeding.”

McGowan also describes watching how the men in the cult treated the women. “At a very early age I decided I did not want to be like those women. They were basically there to serve the men sexually — you were allowed to have more than one wife.” The cult’s women would sometimes travel to area bars to try to recruit, an act known as “flirty fishing.”

McGowan’s father realized he had to leave when he was asked to draw cartoon literature that advocated child-adult sexual relationships. Soon after, Rose, her father, and some siblings left the cult in the middle of the night. They hid in a stone house, and avoided the cult members who came looking for them. “I remember a man trying to break in with a hammer,” McGowan said. The Children of God sect has since been renamed The Family International and has “renounced its advocacy of sexual sharing” and adult-minor sexual relationships.

Eventually, McGowan settled with her father in Washington, where they worked on their relationship. “We became really close when he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at age 60,” she said. Her father died in 2008. Today, she is close with her siblings, who she describes as “the most together, offbeat, funny, regular-ish people.” Her mom is also happily married.

But McGowan has no illusions that things could have ended very differently. “As strong as I like to think I’ve always been, I’m sure I could have been broken. I know I got out by the skin of my teeth.”

That’s creepy as hell! You wonder how seemingly well-adjusted people get involved in stuff like that. A while ago I read an excellent book called Cults in Our Midst that explained how cults recruit and operate. I would recommend that book to everyone. Cults offer a sense of instant belonging and often “love bomb” inductees to give them a feeling of unconditional acceptance before sucking them in and indoctrinating them. (Here’s a link to different cult characteristics that are pretty fascinating.)

I’m not a fan of Rose McGowan at all. She most likely hooked up with director Robert Rodriguez when he was still married, (they’re over now though) and she’s jacked up her face beyond recognition lately. She claims that she had to get repairs done to her eye after a car accident, but it clear there’s much more going on with her than just that. Plus she looks smug and stuck up her ass all the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has some kind of pill addiction. She doesn’t look sober at all to me. But she has a really compelling story, I’ll give her that. Thank goodness her family got out when they did.

Rose McGowan breaks off engagement with director Robert Rodriguez

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez promote 'Red Sonja' at San Diego Comic Con

I’m sure this story isn’t as interesting as I find it, but this relationship has been intriguing me from the start. Back in 2006, Sin City director Robert Rodriguez met actress Rose McGowan while he was directing Grindhouse. Within a few months, Robert’s 16-year marriage to his wife and producing partner Elizabeth Avellan was over, and Robert and Rose were together. Robert later claimed that he and Elizabeth had been separated before he got together with Rose, but there was no legal paperwork filed, and I always found the timing a bit sketchy. Still, Robert and Elizabeth have five children together, and Elizabeth has remained Robert’s producing partner, so maybe their eventual 2008 divorce was totally amicable.

Since Rose and Robert got together – even getting engaged in 2007 – Robert has tried to make her into his muse and star of several projects that never quite got off the ground. There were rumors that no studio want to pay for any film with Rose in the starring role – and Robert’s inability to create a project for his lover is said to have caused considerable tension in their relationship. Now Radar is reporting that Rose has called off the engagement!

Rose McGowan has broken off her engagement to director Robert Rodriguez an inside source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

McGowan recently filmed Rodriguez’s action-packed Machete- which co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro- in Austin, Texas and will next star in the she-devil comic book adaptation Red Sonja. Rodriguez is set to produce the film so maybe a reconciliation isn’t completely out of the cards?

Reps for the couple did not immediately respond for request to comment.

The couple officially announced their engagement in October 2007 after becoming romantically involved in 2006 on the set of the Planet Terror segment of Grindhouse, which was directed by Rodriguez and starred McGowan as a stripper with a machine-gun leg.

It was widely speculated at the time that their relationship was the reason Rodriguez divorced his wife of 16 years, producer Elizabeth Avellán. The director later issued a statement saying that he and Avellán had separated long before production began on the film.

McGowan, 36, and Rodriguez, 41, went public with their relationship in May 2007 when they arrived hand-in-hand at the Cannes Film Festival. They have been together ever since, despite false rumors that they had split up last year after financing for a Rodriguez-planned Barbarella remake starring McGowan fell through.

[From Radar]

Of course we don’t know what really happened. My guess is that it was about their careers more than their love. Robert was totally enamored with Rose – and he really did try his best to get studios to pony up major projects with Rose in the lead, like Barbarella, which was dead on arrival with Rose in the lead. There’s also Red Sonja, a film that Robert announced last year, but still hasn’t been made. Rose just took a supporting part in Robert’s Machete – and her billing is lower than Lindsay Lohan’s. Yeah, I would question an engagement if my director fiancée billed me lower than Lohan too.

Rose McGowan may play “Deep Throat” porn star in new film

Now that her relationship with director Robert Rodriguez is finito, actress Rose McGowan isn’t going to be playing the Jane Fonda role in his remake of Barbarella. In fact, she’s now being tapped to play famed porn star Linda Lovelace in a new biopic. The part has been passed around to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Angelina Jolie. Most recently, “House Bunny” actress Ana Faris had been offered the role and turned it down. Looks like Rose got the high visibility she needed out of her roles in Rodriguez’ “Grindhouse” films.

Could Rose McGowan wind up getting deep?

The talented, beautiful star of “Planet Terror” from the Robert Rodriguez part of “Grindhouse” and TV’s “Charmed” is considering joining the cast of “Inferno,” producer Brian Grazer’s film about legendary “Deep Throat” star Linda Lovelace.

I’m told that already cast are Bill Pullman as Hugh Hefner and Josh Lucas as Linda’s husband, Chuck Traynor, the one who got her into porn. First time writer-director Matthew Wilder will direct from his own script. I’m pretty sure he’s not the same Matthew Wilder who sang, “Nobody’s gonna break my stride…”

“Inferno” isn’t the first attempt at telling the story of the famed Deep Throat star. In past years, both Angelina Jolie and Meg Ryan were mentioned as being interested in the role.

The movie won’t just be about Deep Throat. Lovelace’s life was full of ups and downs. Born Linda Boreman, she wrote two bestselling memoirs, “Ordeal,” and “Out of Bondage.”

According to one bio, after Linda made “Deep Throat” in 1974, she became a feminist. She joined up with Andrea Dworkin and Catharine MacKinnon, and testified before Attorney General Ed Meese’s Commission on Pornography in 1986. Lovelace died in Denver on April 22, 2002, due to severe injuries in a car accident.

McGowan, meantime, is deservedly busy. She just filmed a bunch of episodes of “Nip/Tuck” and has three or four film projects ready to go since breaking up with Rodriguez. A planned remake of “Barbarella,” however, has thankfully been scotched.

[From Fox News]

Brian Grazer is a very powerful TV and film producer, with such credits at TV’s “Arrested Development,” “24″ and “Friday Night Lights” and films like “A Beautiful Mind” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” If he’s putting his considerable weight behind this film, it stands a good chance of being made- and being a hit. This role could make Rose McGowan an A-list status actress if she pulls it off. Playing a porn star sure boosted Mark Wahlberg’s career – it’s not out of the realm of possibilities. But the question is: will she put the moves on her director again?

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez break up

Rose McGowan’s and director Robert Rodriguez have broken up, according to the New York Post. They met while filming Grindhouse in the spring of 2006, and got engaged this past October. The pair started their relationship while Rodriguez was still married to his wife of 16 years, with whom he has five children.x

Apparently their breakup had a lot to do with business. How romantic. Rodriguez was having trouble getting financing for his upcoming remake of Barbarella, in which McGowan was to star. In fact, she was the reason he couldn’t get enough funding.

Rose McGowan’s breakup with her fiancé, director Robert Rodriguez, could be good news for some other actresses, who could end up with the leading roles she was set to play in his movies. McGowan was hoping to star in at least three planned Rodriguez films – a remake of “Barbarella,” “Red Sonja” and “Woman in Chains!”

But sources say the couple, who we reported last October were engaged, have split, partly over the problems Rodriguez had finding financing for “Barbarella” – the 1968 cult classic in which Jane Fonda played a sexy space adven- turess – with McGowan in the title role.

McGowan, best known for her witchy role on TV’s “Charmed,” wasn’t thought to have enough box-office draw for the $70 million remake, especially after “Grindhouse” disappointed with about $25.4 million in domestic ticket sales.

“Too bad ‘Grindhouse’ didn’t gross $100 million. Then, maybe, ‘Barbarella’ would have gotten the green light,” said one source. “Instead, the moguls were saying, ‘We need a bigger star, a bigger name.’ ” Jessica Alba has been touted as a possible replacement.

[From the Daily News]

It sounds like McGowan and Rodriguez’s entire relationship was a great example of why you shouldn’t mix business and love. Rodriguez appeared to view McGowan as his muse, and seemed pretty willing to put all of his eggs in her basket, so to speak. I’ve never found her to be anything exceptional as an actress. It seems like their breakup may benefit everyone. A few other actresses will likely get a shot at McGowan’s roles, Rodriguez will get some better talent, and his ex-wife will probably be smugly satisfied.

Rose McGowan Is Poison – To Your Marriage and Your Film

mcgowanpoison.jpg
Universal Studios have withdrawn from backing Barbarella because of the leading lady. If the movie is named after the character, the lead better be good. Unfortunately for directer Robert Rodriguez, not everyone agrees with his assessment of fiance/home wrecker Rose McGowan, and he now is looking for another studio to come up with $82 million to finance the film.

Rodriquez downplays the gossip, stating that the studio is tightening up everywhere. “Universal had initially signed on for $60 million,” he told the Transom, “but then when we were done with the script it wound up at closer to $82 million, and they had just financed a Will Ferrell movie that was a $130 million and they even cut that down to $100.”

In fact, Rodriguez asserts that McGowan’s screen tests were enthusiastically received by the suits. “They said, ‘What are we looking at?’” Mr. Rodriguez said. “She looks fantastic in the role…She was perfect for this part. She just has that daring look, a sort of classic sexiness that is also kind of futuristic.”

Comics2Film.com

There is a pretty big difference between keeping to the original budget, and pulling out of a project completely. And it seems to have come pretty quickly after Rodriguez announced non-box office draw Rose McGowan as the lead. After he left his wife and the mother of his five children to marry her.

The initial enthusiasm for McGowan’s screen tests could have just been studio BS, isn’t it basically an executive’s job to humour you to your face, then as soon as you leave the room come up with ways to cut costs while getting a more popular actress?

Actually, the whole Barbarella concept seems a bit crap – Rodriguez claims that the original budget for the film isn’t enough, as you don’t want it to look like the original too much. Why make it then? Why not come up with an exciting new adventure in space? Or even just an whole new concept for a film, I’m so tired of remakes.

McGowan and Rodriguez are shown at the Grindhouse premiere after party back in March.

Rose McGowan To Play Barbarella

rosemcgowanbarbarella.jpg
Re-making Barbarella? This is surely going to put you in the naughty chair next to the guy who tried to remake King Kong. Robert Rodriguez is going to try, and he’s casting his girlfriend in the lead role. Which probably puts him in the naughty chair as he already has a wife!

A highly reliable source tells Elle.com exclusively that Rose McGowan is slipping into a fur bikini and major bouffant to take on the title role in the remake of Barbarella. Robert Rodriguez, who left his wife after falling for McGowan on the Grindhouse set, is directing and has cast his love in the part made famous by Jane Fonda. While the rumor mill placed everyone from Halle Berry to Kate Beckinsale and Nicole Kidman in the role of Queen of the Galaxy, it seems he’s found the perfect Barbarella in McGowan.

elle.com

Rose McGowan could make her big comeback in the film – not she ever really went away, it’s just it seems some people have found her unrecognisable.

McGowan, 34, has admitted to having plastic surgery for an eye injury related to a car accident. But casting skeptics suspect she has had much more done, and that it cost her the role.

“The studio felt like she was hard to recognize and worried that by the time the movie hit theaters, fans might not know who she was,” says our insider.

A rep for the actress said “she was not pursuing this role.”

NY Daily News

While I sympathise that someone who first became famous for dating Marilyn Manson may want to change their appearance, I actually think she hasn’t had any work done, certainly not enough to make her unrecognisable. She always looked pretty strange to me, even standing next to that weird goth type Manson.

Note by Celebitchy: Rodriguez and McGowan are now engaged, and he is in the process of a divorce. I think she had a lot of work done.
