Sarah Larson is declared an “it girl” by Harpers Bazaar

I guess the answer to the question “who did Sarah Larson screw to get on the cover declared an “it” girl by Harpers Bazaar?” is obvious. George Clooney’s girlfriend and event arm candy, a 29 year-old former cocktail waitress and Fear Factor winner, appears on the cover of the June edition of the magazine. She wears a brown gown with a tulle underskirt peeking out as she sits on a motorcyle. It is perhaps a reference to the way that she melted Clooney’s bachelor heart by breaking her toe in an accident they sustained on his motorbike.

Larson didn’t accompany Clooney on the European leg of his Leatherheads promotional tour, and I know that I was hoping she was out of the picture, but it wasn’t so. The petite brunette with the perma-grin was seen out with Clooney at the Costume Institute Gala on Monday night.

There’s a definite slow-down to the gossip as many of us get spring fever throughout the world and start to enjoy the sunshine again. Since there’s not as much to fabricate lately, why not focus on Clooney’s girlfriend and her deep thoughts? That’s probably what motivated Bazaar to feature her on the cover, although they’re likely to have a reason for wanting to suck up to Clooney too.

Larson dished in the accompanying interview on such riveting subjects as George’s “funny and sweet” personality and she seemed to half-admit that she’s with him for his celebrity status:

“If George had been on a reality show, I don’t think I’d have talked to him,” Larson says in the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “It would have been like, ‘That’s nice.’”

Good thing it didn’t deter him, though. “He still wants to date me, and I ate a scorpion [on Fear Factor]” she says.

“I see him as a normal person, like anyone else,” she says. “He just happens to have a well-known face.” Still, she cautions, “You realize who is good for you and who’s not pretty quickly.”

And while the story of their meeting in Las Vegas – where Larson was a waitress – is well-known, she tells Harper’s Bazaar that she and Clooney struck up a text message relationship after meeting again in June 2007. “We just started talking. George is funny and sweet, and he’s good to be around,” she says.

“I think getting him a pair of True Religion jeans would be a good joke,” she says of her boyfriend’s no-frills taste. Jokes Larson: “I really want you to wear this, and please put your hair in a fauxhawk.’”

[From People.com]

It all sounds so lame to me, but I guess I can’t judge until I have a chance to read the whole interview. Surely Larson can come up with a better practical joke than to try and get George Clooney to look like a fool. He’s already doing that by dating a young former cocktail waitress and having her talk to the press.

Update: I was fooled by the photo of Larson with “Harper’s Bazaar” written over it. Nicole Richie is on the cover of next months’ issue, and Sarah Larson is featured in an interview. [Thanks Eloise!]

Sarah Larson talks about her life with George Clooney

I can’t imagine what it would be like to date George Clooney, but his girlfriend Sarah Larson is helping fuel the fantasy with details of her life now that she’s semi-famous. For starters, she isn’t much of a paparazzi target.

“That only happens when I’m with George,” Sarah tells Extra. “If I’m by myself, I seem to get away so far.”
“I really like my privacy, so having it unearthed is a little different!”

Since she’s now in the spotlight, the 28-year-old must deal with the obligatory rumor mill as well. There’s been so much talk about her and George, from moving in together to getting married, that the former Fear Factor contestant says she’s “lost track” of some of the gossip.

“I just came to the realization that some people are just going to say stuff and you just have to brush it off I guess!” Sarah says. “I try not to pay attention to most of the gossipy rumors.”

OK! Magazine

It would be very strange to live in a world that you had only seen previously on television and in magazines, like moving to a foreign country.

When she and George split up - I say ‘when’ because he is one of the world’s most notorious bachelors - I wonder if she’ll return to her job as a cocktail waitress? Currently she is modeling in Ocean Drive magazine, and doesn’t waitress anymore following threats from an anonymous caller to George’s voicemail.

If she wants to keep perpetual bachelor George happy, his ex-girlfriend has some advice. Model Lisa Snowden, who dated George twice, says their relationship was caused by her lack of cooking skills. She jokes “I never made George a roast. It’s the way to a man’s heart, isn’t it?! Dammit! I knew I messed up somewhere!”

Note by Celebitchy: These two haven’t been seen out since the LA premiere of Leatherheads on 3/31, and I would bet they’ve already broken up, but we’ll have to see. George is probably hoping she’ll just fade off into the distance.

George Clooney has an anti-marriage shrine

According to The National Enquirer, George Clooney has a small memorial to marriage in his mansion. He’s taken his old wedding ring from his first marriage, to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, and strung it on a ribbon tied to two candlesticks along with the rings from three of his friends. They say that Clooney uses the display to show that he’s not getting married again:

“George has assembled an anti-marriage shrine by stringing his old wedding ring and those of three other buddies on a ribbon and tying it between two candlesticks,” a friend told The Enquirer.

“It’s not like he has anything against the institution of marriage, it’s just not for him. He doesn’t think a piece of paper telling you you’re married makes much sense. George’s homemade memorial is his personal tribute to staying single…

“But as far as tying the knot again, George has said ‘Been there, done that, won’t do it again,’” says his friend. “That’s how he’s explained his wedding ring memorial.”

You could see Clooney doing this for laughs but being serious about it at the same time, like he has to remind himself what he and his friends went through. Whenever I think about Clooney and marriage, I’m reminded of his cad divorce lawyer character in Intolerable Cruelty who got scammed into married scheming Catherine Zeta Jones’ character without a prenup. I know that’s just a film, but I can’t help but think there are parallels to Clooney’s life. It’s like he knows he doesn’t always think with his head and is trying to keep himself single by force of will.

Clooney’s latest and surprisingly long-lasting girlfriend, former cocktail waitress Sarah Larson, recently told a Las Vegas reporter that she met the famous actor a few years ago at a party, but wasn’t available to date him until they saw each other by chance at the Ocean’s 13 premiere. Clooney is rumored to have broke up with Larson briefly in mid March when he suspected she leaked the rumor that they were engaged in order to pressure him into popping the question. He is said to have reconciled with her after telling her there was no way in hell he’d ever marry her. I see a theme here. It could have been created by the tabloids, but it does have a ring of truth to it.

George Clooney and Rene Zelwegger are shown at the “Leatherheads” premiere in Rome on 4/10/08, thanks to PRPhotos. They sure look friendly.

Sarah Larson describes how she met George Clooney

sarahlarsonmeetingheader.jpg

Sarah Larson - George Clooney’s first girlfriend that could be called “serious” since… well… ever, probably – says that she and George actually met a long time before the often mentioned Oceans Thirteen premiere in Las Vegas last year. According to Larson, she met George at his birthday bash “three or four years ago,” but she was seeing someone at the time. When he found out she was working at another club last summer, he got in touch with her, and a month later asked her to go to Italy with him.

Sarah Larson cleared up a big mystery on Wednesday: how she ended up in the company of actor George Clooney, one of the world’s most eligible bachelors. It was long before the much-reported “Ocean’s Thirteen” premiere during CineVegas last June at the Palms, said Larson, in her first lengthy interview since their relationship got serious.

“It was on his birthday three or four years ago at Whiskey at Green Valley Ranch,” she said. Clooney was with some friends, including Whiskey owner Rande Gerber, “and I was with some friends. We were all dancing, taking pictures, being silly,” she said. Larson, who worked as a cocktail server at Whiskey, was dating someone else at the time.

Last June, when Clooney came to town for the “Ocean’s” premiere, “he heard I was working at Moon,” made contact at the nightclub, and “we hung out,” she said. A month later, he invited her to go to Italy. It’s been a whirlwind romance ever since. She’s attended world premieres with him, attended the Academy Awards on his arm, survived a motorbike crash with him and met his parents.

[From the Las Vegas Review Journal]

Larson is working on a career as a model. At 28, she’s actually a bit old to be starting out as a model, but she’s absolutely stunning. She’s just signed with the Nous Agency in Los Angeles, and made some barely-veiled hints that she and George would be going to Milan when they’re in Italy next month. Not surprisingly, she said Clooney is very supportive of her modeling career, and made some joke that if he wasn’t, she’d walk away. Somehow I don’t believe that.

Sarah Larson does charity fashion show while George Clooney is away

George Clooney is overseas promoting his football comedy Leatherheads, along with his co-star Renee Zellweger. Clooney and Renee attended the London premiere of the film on Tuesday, and posed for a photocall in Rome yesterday. When asked where his girlfriend Sarah Larson was, Clooney said that she was back in LA. Larson attended the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Clooney’s arm on March 31.

One of Larson’s obligations back in the states was a charity fashion show luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas yesterday. She modeled two striking Pucci gowns at the Clark County, Nevada Medical Society Alliance Silent Auction and Fashion Show. She may have been a recent addition to the charity event, because a press release put out a month ago makes no mention of her, and she is not listed on the event page of the organization’s website.

Clooney is said to have vigorously defended his girlfriend against an unknown prankster calling his voicemail and telling him to dump Larson. Someone called him saying “Dude, your friends asked me to give you a message: Dump the bitch before you’re sorry!” Larson told the New Yorker in an upcoming story about the call that she’s not a stripper or an escort and that her bad reputation is not deserved. Clooney tried to figure out who made the call and had the number traced. It led to a pre-paid phone cellphone that could not be linked to an owner.

As to how a cocktail waitress and former Fear Factor winner can get a charity event worldwide coverage, it’s all due to Clooney. His star power has certainly transformed the life of the woman he choses to accompany him, but it’s not quite enough to make his new film a hit.

Leatherheads opened at second place its first weekend at the box office, and many Hollywood insiders see it as a sign that Clooney’s box office draw isn’t quite what it used to be.

George Clooney dumped his girlfriend over engagement rumors, but took her back

gla-003176.jpg
George Clooney is said to have dumped his girlfriend of a record-breaking ten months, Sarah Larson, after hearing rumors that they were engaged. Clooney, 46, suspected that Larson, 29, had a hand in the engagement gossip in order to pressure him into proposing. He promptly dumped her, but took her back a few days later.

Larson is supposedly jealous of Clooney’s working relationship with Renee Zellweger, and Clooney thought that might have prompted her to start the rumor:

“He suspected Sarah leaked the rumor - hoping to push him into a proposal. So he dumped her…”

But the actor knew Sarah was jealous of former girlfriend Renee Zellweger, and he had been seeing a lot of Renee, working together on his new flick “Leatherheads.”

“George figured Sarah hinted they were engaged to keep everyone away - especially Renee,” said the insider.

“Sarah broke down in tears trying to convince George she didn’t plant the rumor, but he didn’t buy it.”

The angry actor gave the beauty her walking papers, but within a few days, called…

“George ended up getting back together with her - on one condition. He made it clear - no wedding ever - and she said she understood.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, April 14, 2007]

This is George Clooney we’re talking about, so if he shows up at events with a woman several months in a row of course there are going to be rumors that he’s engaged. I’m just surprised these two lasted this long. If it wasn’t for that motorcycle accident that made Clooney think about his own mortality I doubt they would have made it past the four month mark.

Another story that tends to corroborate this is that Clooney was seen flirting with another woman on March 5 at a bar at a hotel. In Touch reported:

George “was really friendly with everyone, but one brunette was just his type and he focused his attention on her,” says an eyewitness. “The girl was obviously into him, too.” [He] couldn’t keep his eyes off the sexy woman all night, according to the witness.

[From In Touch, print edition, March 31, 2008]

If that story about George flirting is true, it happened five days before the engagement rumors broke, so he didn’t really have an excuse and maybe he was getting tired of Larson. Still, the hot and humorous bachelor just might be ready to settle down - into a long term relationship that doesn’t threaten his finances or lifestyle.

George and Sarah are shown at the “Leatherheads” premiere on 3/31/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

George Clooney says he never dated Renee Zelwegger

George Clooney is not going to let his girlfriend’s web-based mini scandal get in the way of a good premiere. He posed jokingly with his relatively long-lasting love, Sarah Larson, 29, on the red carpet at the premiere of his new film, Leatherheads last night. Humor author A.J. Jacobs interviewed Clooney for last month’s issue of Esquire, and their entire session consisted of Jacobs showing Clooney the criticism and sites about him on the Internet. Clooney was really low-key and mildly amused by all the crap about him online, and you can bet he got a kick out of those drunken photos of his girlfriend. Compared to the other photos on the photographer’s site, which include a lot of wasted topless women making out, the photos of Larson on all fours and sort-of bikini wrestling weren’t that bad.

Clooney has been tirelessly promoting Leatherheads, which is out in the US on April 4. He has an interview in this week’s Life & Style that includes a lot of his deadpan witty comments, like saying he likes to wear women’s clothing and shoes. He also told a funny story about how he embarrassed designer Georgio Armani by wearing one of his suits until it started looking beat. Armani sent him a new one and told him to either wear it or not credit him with designing that old thing:

Are you into fashion?
It’s not that important to me. I’ve worn the same tux so long that Georgio Armani actually sent me a new one and said, “Please either wear this or stop saying you’re wearing Armani, because it’s frayed.” I’ve basically worn this sweater for three days. It’s easier for men than for women.

Do you have sympathy for women’s fashion woes?
I do wear a lot of women’s clothes. The thing is the pumps. I have Manolos in size 11 1/2. They’re hard on your calves.

[From Life & Style, print edition, April 7, 2008]

As for whether he dated Renee Zellweger, to which he said “a little bit” when asked, Clooney said he was joking and that comment was overblown, but he got in trouble with Zellweger for it. He says “No” when asked if it’s true that they dated a little.

Is it true that you and Renee Zellweger dated a little?
No. Someone went through a list of girls I supposedly dated. I replied. “Yes, no, yes, no, no, never heard of her, a little bit,” as a joke. If you take the list and what I said together, it looks like I said “a little bit” about Renee. She later said to me, “A little bit?” I was like, uh-oh, I’m in trouble.

[From Life & Style, print edition, April 7, 2008]

I still think they had something going on, though.

Leatherheads is a football comedy set in the 1920s and it’s getting mixed reviews. We’ll have to see how it does at the box office.

Zellwegger looks really good at the premiere in LA last night. Her face isn’t all bright red or ghostly looking and that’s a great vintage-cut dress. Also shown are John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer. I love Jenna Fischer, she seems so down to earth. Thanks to PRPhotos for these pictures.

George Clooney’s girlfriend Sarah Larson bikini wrestling past

George Clooney’s girlfriend Sarah Larson always looks so well put together and seems rather demur and classy. But it’s been clear from the time she and George began attending events together that she’s definitely a girl with a wild side. Supposedly the pair met when he dined at a Las Vegas restaurant where Sarah was a waitress. But the beautiful brunette has a history that’s much more colorful than all that. According to Star, Sarah worked as a go-go dancer and was often paid to attend parties and look pretty with her sexy girlfriends. Wow, there wasn’t a single part of that sentence that didn’t make me want to throw up.

“Sarah looks like she totally belongs, walking down the red carpet on George’s arm,” a source close to her tells Star. “She’s even been described as having a successful runway and print modeling career. But until recently, her modeling career consisted mostly of being paid by promoters for clubs, magazines and radio stations to attend special events in sexy outfits and party with her wild girlfriends! “Sarah is outgoing and fun and loves to drink. She likes to get wasted when she goes out — but hey, that’s what Vegas is all about!”

In one risqué set of photos taken in July 2007 — one month after she first met George, 46, at the Palms resort — Sarah, 29, is wearing a short dress and has her legs wrapped around a man holding her up against a wall in the middle of a crowded Vegas nightclub. The next day, Sarah — who appears to be drunk — is pictured wearing a bikini at a huge, outdoor pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, kneeling on all fours with her backside in the air as she licks the cover of a magazine lying on the ground. She’s also shown rolling around on the floor as she wrestles a bikini-clad blonde!

[From Star]

Somehow this version of Sarah Larson makes a lot more sense to me, in terms of George Clooney. Sure George seems to place the most emphasis on beauty, but the demure type just doesn’t seem to hold his attention for long. And for ten months is probably some sort of record. Who wouldn’t like a girl who let strangers dry hump them against a wall and faux-wrestles other bikini-clad girls in the sand? I don’t want to know. Enjoy the semi-gratuitous photos. Via IDLYITW.

George Clooney is absolutely not engaged

notengaged.jpg
Women of the world can breathe a sigh of relief – the Hottest Bachelor on Earth is not engaged. Despite the rumors circulating, which started with an Italian restaurant owner, he has not asked his girlfriend Sarah Larson to marry him. Well, he might have, but if he did she refused him. Which doesn’t seem likely, does it?

“These reports are not true,” Clooney said through his Los Angeles-based rep, Stan Rosenfield.

Britain’s Marie Claire posted a story on Monday, under the headline, “George Clooney to Marry?” The article quoted a restaurant worker in the Italian town where the Oscar winner, 46, has a villa as saying Clooney and Larson are engaged. The story originated from an Italian newspaper.

People

Even though George may indeed have met the love of his life, and could make some particularly attractive babies with her, he probably won’t get married. Part of his charm is the fact the only long term relationship he has ever had has been with a pig, but he might just fall in love with us.

Perhaps he has found true love, or maybe his extravagant wooing of Ms Larson is just to show us all what kind of a life we would have if we were dating the World’s Hottest Television Doctor. A $40,000 Valentine’s Day adventure, trips to Italy, and Oscar dates. I could learn to live with that.

George was voted the Hottest Bachelor by The Insider, joined in the top ten by Vince Vaughn, Bruce Willis, Jamie Foxx, Orlando Bloom, Owen Wilson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and father-to-be Matthew McConaughey. I just made up the World’s Hottest Television Doctor Title, but I think it’s true.

George Clooney was worried that girlfriend was paralyzed after accident

More details have come out about George Clooney’s motorcycle accident in New Jersey a week and a half ago. Clooney and his girlfriend of the moment, Sarah Larson, a 28 year-old former cocktail waitress were thrown from his Harley Davidson after a collision with a car.

A witness tells The National Enquirer that Clooney kept his cool and was careful to tell Larson not to move after the accident. This is key in the case of a potential spinal injury and if their injuries were worse Clooney’s advice could have saved her from being paralyzed:

“I saw the bike hit the curb, and then Clooney and girl hit the ground. If they hadn’t been wearing helmets, they would have been killed instantly,” eyewitness David Sciumbata told The Enquirer.

“They were pinned under the bike, and it looked like her leg had been crushed.”

David, a guitarist, watched the mishap from his front proch in Weehawken, N.J., around 3 p.m. on Sept. 21. He called an ambulance and then rushed to aid the couple.

“Clooney was clearly in pain, but he kept asking the girl about her spine,” David said. “He was afraid she might have been paralyzed.

“He tried to keep her clam. I heard him say ‘Please don’t move. You are going to be fine. I don’t want you to move your leg or your back.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, October 8, 2007]

Clooney did absolutely the right thing. Medline says that “If you are in doubt about whether a person has a spinal injury, assume that he or she DOES have one” and that you should not move a person after an accident unless it is absolutely necessary as in the case of getting them out of a burning vehicle.

Both Clooney and Larson escaped from the accident with minor injuries after being treated at a nearby hospital. Larson suffered a broken toe while Clooney fractured a rib and had road rash.

Clooney was quite level-headed and smart to tell Larson not to move and to stay calm after the accident. As much as I like to rip on Clooney for being an incurable womanizer, he gets points for this one. There was a report in a NJ paper that claims he also told he loved her in the moments after the accident.

Clooney and Larson are still together, and she was seen hobbling outside of his hotel in NY on crutches for a night out on the town last night. In one picture he’s shown smoothing her hair or picking something off her face. Her eyes are closed and she’s clearly relishing the attention. Thanks to Splash News for those pictures.

Clooney is also shown in NY filming Burn After Reading. Thanks to PRPhotos.
