Angelina Jolie “got lost” on Amazon.com, likes to shop with catalogs

It’s so sad, Angelina Week is over. Boo! Now we just have to content ourselves all of the photos from last week, plus tons of interviews which are still being released. On Friday, Angelina’s longish USA Today interview came out, and I didn’t get a chance to read it until the weekend. You can read the full thing here – she talks a lot about In the Land of Blood and Honey, of course, but she also throws in some personal details. Remember how In Touch Weekly’s sources claimed that Angelina was seriously addicted… to online shopping? Well, Angelina claims that she can’t even figure out Amazon. AMAZON! One of the easiest sites to navigate, honestly.

Angelina Jolie isn’t the wild child she once was — and she’s OK with that. Describing her younger self as “experimental, bold and a bit nutty,” the now 36-year-old actress tells USA Today she was “absolutely self-destructive” early in her career.

“I think a lot of young people in this business lose their way. You don’t know what is of value. You don’t know where you are. And you know something’s wrong, because it isn’t life as it actually is,” Jolie explains. “It’s like living in some warped reality.”

The actress — who shares six children with partner of six years Brad Pitt, 47 — finally settled down “once I started to learn about the world and I became grateful for everything that I certainly have. Since going through my first war zone, never have I woken up and not been simply grateful.”

Once she adopted son Maddox in 2002, the In the Land of Blood and Honey director realized there was no going back. “I knew once I committed to Maddox, I would never be self-destructive again,” Jolie says. “Now I have five more [kids], so I have to behave.”

Given her multiple responsibilities as a mother, lover, actress, director and U.N. ambassador, Jolie has learned how to multitask over the years. “I always Christmas shop early in case we have to travel somewhere,” she says.

“Brad and I were on Amazon.com for the first time a week ago. But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off,” she tells USA Today. “My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions. I’ll stick to catalogs.”

[From Us Weekly]

“But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off…” Because Angelina Jolie is now your mom who asks you “What’s up with all of this Facebooking?” Except that even my mother can navigate Amazon! So… Angelina and Brad just aren’t good at technical stuff? Angelina has claimed that before, so I guess I’ll believe her, but I thought more of Brad’s skills. Turns out he sucks at technical stuff too.

Oh, and what catalogs are they ordering from? I want to know! I used to work the phones at a catalog company, and I would be floored if Angelina was actually calling up and giving item numbers and checking on availability. What if you were the one who had to tell Angelina that you no longer had the Empress’s hoodie in pink?

Justin Theroux helped Jennifer Aniston shop for lingerie at Barneys

69304pcn_aniston12

These are some photos from last week, when Jennifer Aniston made an appearance at Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year celebration. Remember, she was looking pregnant because she was spilling out of her dress at the bust and her dress had an empire waist which could have hidden a bump? Allegedly, she was downing vodka, so she’s probably not pregnant, although there were some other reports suggesting that she wasn’t in fact drinking. I have no idea. Here’s what I do know: Jennifer Aniston’s badass, hardcore, hipster boyfriend is now spending his days shopping for lingerie at Barney’s with his lady. Oh, Justin. Coughcoughselloutcoughcough.

Justin Theroux was Jennifer Aniston’s personal shopper, helping her pick out lingerie at Barneys in New York on Tuesday.

A spy said of the romantic couple, “They were in the lingerie department . . . She looked beautiful, and they were both very nice.”

Aniston, who showed off a boosted cleavage at the Glamour awards on Monday, may have been searching for items for her curvier figure. A Barneys rep declined to comment. Aniston’s rep didn’t get back to us.

[From Page Six]

“Aniston’s rep didn’t get back to us” – meaning that Aniston’s rep was the one who planted the story in the first place? I always think it’s Huvane as soon as some “spy” starts talking about how “beautiful” Aniston is, like maybe if it’s repeated enough in the public sphere, everyone will believe it. That sounded nastier than I meant – I’ll buy it when a spy says, “Aniston’s hair looked great!” or “Her body looked tight.” Different people notice different things, but for some reason, whenever a “spy” notices Jennifer Aniston, the only thing the “spy” notices is how “beautiful” she is.

As for the lingerie stuff… do you think Justin really is into it? Or would he much rather be in some seedy bar, having a stiff drink with Terry Richardson?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley says we should save up for $700 Louboutins

fp_8070918_rij_hollywood_awards_91_139

I was in a bookstore yesterday, shopping for someone else, and I happened to see the hardback of Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations, and I made a mental note that I needed to add it to my Christmas list that I give my mom. Also on my list? Adele’s new live CD and LL Bean wool clogs (which I love, and I now want in every color). I give my mother a list still, to this day, even though I am well into adulthood because she’s already going to buy me stuff, so it might as well be the *right* stuff, and she prefers that I give her a list anyway, so she doesn’t just buy me endless pairs of socks.

What’s my point? Even when I’m thinking about what gifts I really, really want, I’m a pretty reasonable person – a nice book, a CD, a pair of shoes. That’s all I really want. If I do want something really expensive, I rationalize my way out of the purchase or I just buy it myself, with my own money. I’ve never owned a pair of $700 shoes. I enjoy looking at pairs of expensive shoes, but I can easily rationalize my way out of purchasing a pair. I always enjoy hearing what celebrities consider “must haves” though – it usually shows how out-of-touch they are, even when I know they really just mean their recommendations from the heart. Let’s take Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who recommends that women save one dollar every week for seven years just so they can buy a pair of Louboutins one day. But you know that seven years from now, a pair of Louboutins will cost 1,200 Apocalypse Romney Bucks!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley managed to win the hearts of many, many men when she took the reins from Megan Fox to star in the latest “Transformers” installment, but she has one little secret that helps her put some extra sexiness in her step. Seven hundred dollar Christian Louboutin heels.

“They make me feel like a woman. I feel they make you look very sexy, the cuts are beautiful, the lines, the colors the embellishments,” Huntington-Whiteley gushed to FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at the shoe designer’s book launch at Barney’s in Beverly Hills last week. “I think he managed to capture something so special for women, every girl should be lucky enough to have them.”

Yet amid this cash-strapped economy, the British supermodel has some words of wisdom for women pining for a pair – which retail at around $700.

“If you can save up for a pair put away a dollar a week,” she advised. “It’s worth it girls. It is really worth it!”

(At a dollar a week, that would take approximately 14 years, for those of you keeping score.)

Since getting a taste for rolling cameras, lights and action in Michael Bay’s hit blockbuster, Huntington-Whiteley has caught the acting bug big time, and has high hopes for more movies in the future.

“(‘Transformers’) was a huge challenge for me and I think it was the right time in my life to be challenged, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot making it,” she said. “I would love to work with another great filmmaker again, and I think my dreams are the same as any new actress – to work with a great cast, and I would love to do something that’s a little different from my role in ‘Transformers’ – and something hopefully that will challenge me in a different way.”

Yet when it comes to her personal life, the rising star (and Jason Statham’s squeeze) refuses to complain about the increasing paparazzi and tabloid attention.

“I am very lucky in my life so I don’t wish for anything I don’t have, and I actually manage to get around just fine. I’m just fine,” she added. “It’s not too much, I manage to avoid it when it’s necessary, but I’m very thankful for everything.”

[From Fox News]

She means well. She’s trying to convince all of us unwashed masses that this is what we really need – $700 Louboutins, which, granted, lots of ladies do seem to like. I see those nude stilettos on nearly every celebrity lady, so they must be one of the more comfortable and versatile pairs of heels in the high heel universe. I’ll also give Rosie a little bit of credit for not going all Goop on us, patronizing us by saying that not only MUST we buy the shoes, but we just desperately need to (lose some weight and) update our wardrobes with some $1000 blouses. Rosie’s shill was quick and dirty: buy these expensive shoes. The end. Like, “I am the 1%. You can be like me too if you buy these shoes. Goodbye.” The kicker, of course is that Rosie doesn’t have to pay for Louboutins even though she can afford thousands of pairs – she probably gets all of this stuff for free.

Also, if Rosie actually turns into an in-demand actress, I’ll eat my proverbial hat (I don’t wear a hat, my head’s too big).

John Travolta loves buying dresses at Walmart

fp_4755379_rev_lastsong_26_
This was a cute little story in the National Enquirer this week which was supported by some comments that Travolta made about his love of shopping at the ubiquitous discount chain Walmart. Travolta enjoys getting bargains and he even recently enthused about how he enjoys buying people presents, particularly clothes, from Walmart. Travolta says that his family (presumably his wife and their 10 year-old daughter) love the dresses he bought for them. So this means Travolta is buying dresses for his women at Walmart. This seems strange to me for a few reasons, but it also cracks me up.

“John has no problem dropping millions on private jets and fabulous vacations for his wife and kids, but that doesn’t mean he won’t try to save a buck when he can,” an insider told The Enquirer.

“He’s a regular at the local Walmart near his Ocala, FL mansion. Not only does he buy his clothes there, but he even buys gifts for his family.

“John’s extended family cracks up on holidays because they know their presents will come from Walmart or Target. And they actually think it’s adorable because he tries so hard to find the perfect gift.”

Travolta explained to a reporter: “As far as Walmart’s concerned, you can get Christmas presents that are just unbelievable. I bought some of my family dresses from Walmart, and it was their favorite clothing.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, May 16, 2011]

That’s so funny! This strikes me as one of those occasions where the giver, particularly a guy, is way more enthusiastic about the present than the receiver, but it’s still a nice gesture. It doesn’t matter how much the stuff costs, it’s the thought that counts. This kind of humanizes Travolta for me. You can tell he gets a thrill out of buying dresses.

A lot of you have told me that you avoid Walmart because it’s this huge chain that pushes out local businesses that can’t compete and forces suppliers to lower prices to survive. I get that, and I do feel some guilt when I shop there. When it’s the only place in town you can get an item you’re kind of stuck. Also, the bargains can be really good there and it’s hard to resist. I haven’t had great luck with everyday clothes at Walmart although I have found some decent workout gear, t-shirts and sleepwear there. Target has nicer clothes but the cut and quality has been off for some of the stuff I’ve found there and I would rather shop at a discount supplier like TJ Maxx or Marshalls.

Lindsay Lohan can somehow afford to buy diamonds in rehab

fp_6158269_lohan_desertmall_fp4_112710

Remember how Lindsay Lohan is broke? Remember how she cried poverty to the judge and said that she needed to be out of rehab because she needed to work to pay her rehab bills? Remember how Lindsay said – in a submitted report to the judge – that she didn’t have a few thousand dollars to rub together and that’s why she needed to be out? Remember how PETA said they would pay her rehab bill if she tried vegetarianism? Yeah. Well, our Lindsay has spent her Thanksgiving holiday shopping… for diamonds. Because she’s SO broke.

Yeah. According to Fame Pictures, Lindsay spent Saturday shopping in Palm Springs. First: how dumb is this bitch that she goes shopping for diamonds on a day pass from rehab just a month after she cried poverty? Second: Why isn’t this crackhead LOCKED DOWN, for the love of God? She’s barely spending any time in actual rehab. Her rehab experience has been all about shopping excursions and crack hustling and Starbucks and smoking cigarettes and lip injections and dressing inappropriately. In other words, just like home. Ugh.

Here are some more photos of Lindsay “in rehab” at Starbucks and the jewelry shop, smoking a cig and being a crackhead.

Brad & Angelina take Shiloh & Zahara shopping in Paris

fp_4539628_stla_pitt_jolie_021610

I don’t know if PopEater’s gossip guy got it right, and Angelina Jolie refuses to allow her family to celebrate Thanksgiving, but the Family Jolie-Pitt did spend the holiday doing somewhat unconventional things. First, Us Weekly reports that the kids spend Thanksgiving on the beach… I don’t know where, as in, what country, but Us Weekly claims the kids went with nannies rather than their parents (one photo here). Additionally, People Magazine reports that Angelina and Brad flew in to Paris with the kids either on Friday or Saturday, and spent part of Saturday shopping for the girls. Empress Zahara approves of black suede boots! Shiloh approves of zebra prints and medieval knight costumes. Take notes.

On the first day of Christmas, my sisters gave to me … a large plastic alligator?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took daughters Zahara and Shiloh holiday shopping in Paris Saturday and it looks like they’ll be able to check quite a few things of their gift list, including pants, pajamas, gloves, sweaters, boots, stuffed animals, knights’ costumes (complete with tunics, swords and shields) and one large green plastic alligator, according to staff at the Bonpoint boutique on rue de Tournon near the Luxembourg Gardens.

“Angelina was great,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “She’s patient, and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits.”

Pitt was “very agreeable, absolutely polite and excellent with the girls” as well, a store employee says.

In town to promote film projects – Pitt’s Megamind and Jolie’s The Tourist – the couple squeezed in more than an hour of shopping with Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 4, at the celeb-friendly boutique, where Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba and Michelle Obama have visited.

“[Shiloh] wanted pants and picked out a pair of zebra-patterned boots,” a clerk says of Saturday’s stop.

Zahara, the employee says, chose “black suede boots and a ‘Duchess’ dress.”

The Bonpoint store contains one fun feature which the girls enjoyed: an entire room that holds a child-sized farmhouse with several levels, meandering passages and see-through walls. Both girls played inside, according to a witness, while a laughing Jolie took pictures of her daughters.

Helping Shiloh try on a medieval knight’s tunic, Pitt watched while she playfully waved around a wooden sword and shield. After deciding on both the costume and its accessories, Shiloh told the shop assistant that she wanted two complete sets. “‘One is for me,’ she explained,” the clerk tells PEOPLE. “‘The other is for my brother, Pax.’ ”

Pax may get his presents before the holidays – he turns 7 on Nov. 29.

And the large plastic alligator Shiloh selected at the last minute? “That’s good for Knox,” she told the sales staff.

[From People]

I love the image of Shiloh and the Empress working out their Christmas shopping lists beforehand. Shiloh’s list probably consisted of “COSTUMES!!!” Meanwhile, I get the feeling that Zahara’s list was probably more practical. The Empress was probably like “Maddox needs a scarf. And an iPad.”

Lindsay Lohan went on a shopping spree during a “break” from rehab

Actress Lindsay Lohan arrives at the Beverly Hills Municipal Courthouse in Beverly Hills, California in this July 20, 2010 file photo. Lohan was ordered September 20, 2010 to appear in court after admitting that she failed a court-ordered drug test a few weeks after being released from jail and a subsequent stint in drug rehabilitation. Picture taken July 20, 2010. REUTERS/Danny Moloshok/Files (UNITED STATES - Tags: ENTERTAINMENT CRIME LAW SOCIETY)

Did you know that people in rehab got to go on shopping excursions? I didn’t. And here I thought Lindsay Lohan’s rehab was so stuff, what with the lack of crack and caffeine. Turns out, they let the crackheads go to malls. Something tells me that for Lindsay, Old Navy might be the gateway drug (and Forever 21 would be the heroin overdose, in that anology) Plus, have you been to a mall lately? Mine has turned into a total ghetto. I could score drugs down by the Hickory Farms much easier than I could on any street corner.

Lindsay Lohan got to indulge in a favorite pastime on Tuesday during a quick trip outside the walls of her rehab. The Mean Girls star headed to a nearby shopping center for some retail therapy, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Lohan, who is currently in treatment at the Betty Ford Center, went to Forever 21 in Palm Desert, California with an unidentified female.

“Lindsay came in two days ago with another young woman. Lindsay kept to herself, but was friendly. Lindsay bought a leopard sweater, a lot of pajama bottoms, and a ton of socks,” the store manager Tiffany Bennett told RadarOnline.com.

“Her choices were for leisure wear. Lindsay spent about $200 total and she paid for the items herself.”

Lohan’s shopping companion also did some damage, buying up around $300 worth of merchandise.

“We were surprised that Lindsay was so low key,” Bennett said. “The only thing she asked us to do was to hold some of the items at the front until she was finished picking things out.”

According to Bennett, the actress “looks really, really good” and added that locals often spot her at Starbucks.

“She goes to the Starbucks next door all the time.”

Lohan was ordered to stay at Betty Ford until January 3 by Judge Elden Fox. If Lindsay fails to follow any of Judge Fox’s orders, she could face being sent to jail for six months.

[From Radar]

Wait, they let her go to Starbucks too? What kind of g-ddamn rehab is this junk? And it’s court-ordered at this point – which, in my mind, means that the crackhead needs to be LOCKED DOWN. I would even suggest tying her to bed at night, just for good measure.

Kim Kardashian wants a baby so she can go shopping, get attention

wenn2610748
I know people hate the Kardashian girls and all of their famewhoring ways, but I still get a kick out of the occasional piece of Kardashian news. With all of the marriage drama surrounding Khloe and all of Kourtney’s baby drama, Kim has been really left out. Unfortunately for her, Kim’s love life just doesn’t make for interesting tabloid fodder anymore. Perhaps she needs to make another sex tape? No, instead she’s trying to sell her reunion with Reggie Bush, that poor bastard. She even got her step-brother to confirm the relationship. Brody Jenner told Life & Style, “I was just with [Reggie] the other night… I personally think Reggie is one of the nicest human beings I’ve ever met in my life. I think he would be an incredible partner for Kim.” Aw… that didn’t sound like a press release in the least.

Anyway, the funniest piece of news about Kim is her incessant whining about how nobody is paying attention to her anymore. Of course, she doesn’t just come out and say that. She makes it sound all cutesy and “look at me, I want a baby”. What she really wants is attention. And she wants anything that will help her feed her shopping addiction:

Kim Kardashian wants a baby. The socialite – who recently reunited with her boyfriend, American football star Reggie Bush – has revealed helping her sister Kourtney prepare for the arrival of her first child has made her broody.

She told OK! magazine: “This is just the most exciting new step in our lives, and I think everyone in the family can’t wait for the baby to come!

“You see what my sister’s going through and it’s so much fun, and she’s picking out cribs and high chairs, and I’m getting her little clothes and little shoes and it’s all so cute!”

As well as looking forward to welcoming the new baby, Kim is also thrilled with her sister Khloe’s recent wedding to Los Angeles Lakers basketball star Lamar Odom, who she married following a whirlwind romance.

The 28-year-old star said: “My whole family’s changed over the course of a few months and, you know, it’s just fun. We have all of these new, fun people in our lives and it is like a growing family!”

Kourtney and boyfriend Scott Disick recently revealed they are expecting a boy and according to her sister, the star only made the decision to find out the unborn tot’s gender after being pressured by friends and family who wanted to buy gifts.

Kim explained: “She actually didn’t even want to find out, so we waited and then planning the baby shower, we’re like, ‘OK, you got to give us some kind of color here because we don’t know what to do!’ And so she found out.”

[From BANG Media International]

Is it weird that I actually think Kim would make a better mother than her sisters? Khloe is… well, she’s not really a bad person, she’s just dumb, impulsive and bitchy. She might grow out of that at some point, hopefully. But Kourtney is the one I worry about – and she’s the one that’s knocked up! I just think that she’s using her pregnancy – and months from now, the baby – to get attention and bask in the glow of the media spotlight. Plus, she using this whole pregnancy as a way to tie down a womanizing douche who doesn’t want to be tied down. Ugh. Yeah, Kim is my favorite. She’s probably shopping right now…

Katie Holmes’ shopping binges make Nicole Kidman look like a coupon-clipper

fp_3330525_barm_holmes_katie_072809
What in the world is happening with Katie Holmes? She and Tom have kind of fallen off the gossip radar – granted, there have been a few stories about them here and there, like about how Katie wants to wait to have another baby until she has “another” hit film, or how she doesn’t even want Tom around while she’s working. In a gossip age where Angelina’s absence from one red carpet creates weeks of drama for the tabloids, I kind of expected Tom and Katie’s temporary locale-split to create more drama. According to Lainey, Tom and Katie haven’t been photographed together for a month, and she asks who Tom has been doing for the past month.

In the scope of their now-seeming temporary separation, this story from the Enquirer seems like a throw-back to simpler times in the TomKat relationship. At issue? Katie Holmes goes shopping. A lot. Like, she blows hundreds of thousands of dollars a week. One of the Enquirer’s sources even does a side-by-side comparison between Tom’s current wife, and his last ex-wife, saying that though Nicole spent a lot of Tom’s money, she was nothing comared to Katie. We already knew this – Katie spent $14 million in six months while she and Tom were staying in New York earlier this year. But here’s more proof:

[After Katie] is done on the Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark set in Melbourne, Australia, Katie heads for the stores with 3-year-old daughter Suri in tow.

“She loves to shop,” a source told the Enquirer. “In Melbourne, she goes everywhere from the high end shops on Chapel Street to the low-end stores like Target. That woman can give a credit card a workout!”

In the last year, Katie’s shop-until-you drop-forays: blowing through $200,000 at Barney’s in one year; spending $14 million in New York; spending $43,000 in spa treatments this spring.

Tom appears undisturbed by his wife’s frenzied spending. The actor is said to be worth $250 million.

A friend told the Enquirer: “His ex-wife Nicole Kidman was a spendthrift, but compared to Katie, she’s a coupon clipper.”

Tom is just happy that Katie is happy. “It’s a situation where he does his thing, she does hers – and hers is shopping,” said the friend.

“She thinks nothing of heading off to Paris and buying designers’ latest creations. Price tags mean absolutely nothing to her.”

Katie’s publicist denies the big shopping trips, and one source says it’s “totally out of character for her” and that it shows how much she’s changed since becoming Tom’s gal. “She’s the youngest of five children, and with three older sisters, Katie wore a lot of hand-me downs. It’s like she’s making up for lost time.”

[From National Enquirer, print edition, August 17 2009]

Honestly, I think Tom Cruise is worth way more than $250 million. I’ve heard older estimates (back when he was hot stuff, and getting a percentage of the gross of his huge, hit films) of Tom’s fortune hitting the $400-500 million range. But does a bigger number make any difference? Is Katie taking out her issues by shopping and hording?

Lindsay Lohan goes on luxury shopping spree

30476PCN_Lohan

It looks like Lohan’s addictions aren’t limited to just Samantha and whatever she’s doing to keep herself thin as a pin. We reported yesterday that Lindsay was seen shopping at high end luxury boutiques Gucci and Louis Vuitton while she was on vacation in Hawaii. The NY Daily News reports that she wasn’t just browsing and dropped “thousands” on designer handbags:

Lindsay Lohan’s having some pricey post break-up fun in the sun.

The starlet, along with a few of her gal pals and her sister Ali, spent the weekend in Hawaii, where Lohan soaked up some rays in a teeny bikini … at a public park.
During the vacay the actress, who recently complained that she can’t get an acting gig, also dropped thousands of dollars on designer bags during a shopping spree.

“If people would just leave my personal life alone – because it’s really not that interesting – then I could land a great role, but all the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting,” Lohan griped to E! News late last month, after admitting she’s nervous about paying her mortgage.

[From NY Daily News]

Just for kicks, I reviewed the “I Am So Alone: Dumped, Humiliated, Broke and Crying” US Weekly cover story on Lohan’s breakup with Ronson from a couple of weeks ago. I forgot how broke she supposedly is. According to US Weekly’s source, it’s moderately bad. The interview with Lohan was about how wronged she supposedly was in the breakup and didn’t focus on her financial situation, but they include quotes from an insider who claims “she has a tiny bit of money.”

Lohan… told Nylon in March, “It’s scary when you realize, Oh my God, I’m not working. And have a house to pay for now.” How broke is the actress – who recently boasted she and Sean Penn were trying to develop a movie with Seth Rogen (Rogen denied it)?” “She’s blown so much money on crap like shopping, traveling and partying,” says a source. Indeed , that $115,000 Maserati she’s been driving around is a loaner from a porn king. But a source counters, “She’s not completely broke. She has a tiny bit of money. And, to her credit, she’s a hustler.” After the article got out, Lohan “regretted letting everyone know how hard up she is,” says a source. “She thinks if movie executives see how much she’s struggling, no one will hire her.
