Ana de Armas moved in with Ben Affleck, has put her Venice home on the market

Ben Affleck's girlfriend Ana de Armas pulls down his mask for a kiss at a beach photoshoot
During Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s on-off years we would get constant updates on whether they were back together and how they were coparenting. I assumed that Jennifer Garner’s side was the one leaking to the celebrity-friendly press. Now that I’m seeing Ben and Ana de Armas’ relationship play out I think Ben was mostly behind their divorce PR.

Getting to this story, we’re hearing that Ana has moved in with Ben and is selling her Venice home. I thought she rented that place, but turns out she bought it. This is not the first time we’ve heard that Ana moved in with Ben. In August a photo agency reported that Ana was moving in and People reported that like it had already happened. Then in September we heard that Ana was just about to move in with Ben and that an engagement was imminent. They’re definitely cohabitating now that they’re back in LA after working on their film in New Orleans. People Magazine has the story along with some insider quotes. They were first spotted together in March, although they were probably dating before that.

Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas are taking the next step in their relationship.

The Knives Out actress has moved into Affleck’s Los Angeles home after placing her Venice, California, home on the market, a source tells PEOPLE.

A friend of Affleck also says “their relationship continues to be strong.”

The news comes as de Armas, 32, was seen with Affleck, 48, shopping a day before Thanksgiving in Los Angeles. The couple was busy doing reshoots for their film Deep Water in New Orleans but they returned to the city to celebrate the holiday together with Affleck’s three children, whom he shares with ex Jennifer Garner.

De Armas has been spotted frequently visiting Affleck at his home in the last few months while adhering to social distancing guidelines. The actress has even spent time with Affleck’s kids when they spend time with their father.

[From People]

People filled out this story with past quotes they were fed about Afflarmas’ relationship (remember how Ana was a stabilizing force in Ben’s sobriety? That was in E!, but still) and ended with a mildly shady reference to that time Ana put a cutout of herself on Ben’s lawn. That was insane that she did that. They’ve definitely toned down the outings together. There are new photos of them out going to a park and to the mall with Ben’s kids last weekend, but they’re exclusive so we don’t have access to them. Several agencies had these photos of Ana (in the white shirt) on Friday. She went for a walk with two friends and none of them wore masks, although I didn’t see them all clustered together or anything. Note how People includes the details that Ana adheres to social distancing. She was wearing a mask out with his kids, which is progress.

Do you think Ben and Ana will get engaged? Before it happens we’ll see stories about it. I’m thinking in the spring sometime.

I think they will get engaged if they’re not already. I think they’ll reach the alter, maybe even have a baby together. I don’t know about after that. I hope he stays clean.

  2. Tanguerita says:

This woman singlehandedly redefined the term “extra”.

  3. anon says:

Like a lamb to the slaughter. Where are this girl’s parents? I don’t care how rich and charming he is, past is prologue.

    This will end in tears.

    • Rapunzel says:

Anon- Ana is a 32 year old woman, not a girl. Let’s not infantalize her.

Ben has issues, but let’s not act like the women who are with him lack agency.

      • anon says:

Yeah, well, Rapunzel, (which is a supreme irony, considering Rapunzel’s own lack of “agency,” but I digress) even 32-year-olds make dumb mistakes. So I look forward to having this discussion three years from now, when this thing collapses *because past is prologue.*

And sure, she may have “agency” (a fluffy millennial word if there ever was one) – but as the previous 42,000 relationships with him have shown, her odds are not great.

      • Bettyrose says:

Anon, I agree that this is a terrible choice for Ana and yes people of all ages make bad choices, but at 32 it’s weird to call on her parents to intervene. This is a lesson she has to learn on her own. Hopefully she has good friends to help her out on the other side of it.

      • I pet goat 2 says:

Agency is a fluffy millennial word? 😂😂 k boomer

    • Mac says:

Yes, this seems like a bad career and life move.

    • gilda says:

This isn’t her first marriage. She knows how to get a divorce, usually around the time the costar-turned-boyfriend stops elevating her brand. She’s very resourceful.

  4. Bebe says:

I know she probably can’t help it but I feel like she makes the most exaggerated facial expressions. It always reminds me of the over-the-top “emotion” cards teachers use to teach children words like “excited” or “surprised”.

  5. Mia4s says:

Well….good luck Ana…..you’re going to need it. 😬

  6. Leanne says:

    I like these two together.

  7. Noki says:

She seems so smitten, in the likely event of Ben freaking out the relationship is getting too much she will not go quietly. She seems like a clinger.

  8. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

    Cute dogs.

  9. Nicole says:

I’m just gonna say that Ben has a type. He may fool around with blondes, but he really does seem to settle down with petite brunettes.

    • Lena says:

He doesn’t have a type imo. I knew he was behind all the post divorce PR and to me it was obvious. He’s the one who took such a terrible hit to his reputation since everyone attributed it to gambling drinking womanizing. Then he turned the talk about how well they co parent and that worked much more to his benefit. A lot of women especially thought she was a doormat to not forever punish him for his toxic behavior But this latest People article (which everyone is quoting) I actually don’t think he’s behind. It’s just too off. It’s like a couple of months ago Page 6 said he was finally moving into the house he’s been in for 2 + years. Someone’s planting stories who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Engaged? IMO only if she made an ultimatum. And maybe not even then.

  10. Nina Simone says:

This is a mess waiting to happen.

    • Mee says:

@Nina Simone yes it is!!! I’m still looking at her like Evans is single, Skarsgard is single, yet she wants the alcoholic-divorced-father-of-3??? Girl bye

      • Darla says:

I have a feeling Evans is a lot of work, and I also have a feeling he wasn’t interested in her. Skarsgard is probably not a lot of work, and so beautiful. Those two, and Momoa for me are the 3 hottest men alive right now. So yeah, Affleck is not on the list or anywhere close, but you know, this is all from afar. And you fall in love with who you fall in love with. I hope they stay happy! You never know, it could happen.

      • Molly says:

She tried to land Evans and Gosling. She was all over them during the promotion of their movies, but they weren’t interested in her. Affleck was the only one who was.

  11. a0 says:

Eh, I very much doubt she ever owned that house in Venice and it seems like they’ve been living together for a while now

  12. Ceej says:

He really can’t handle being single for 5 minutes can he?!

    • Bettyrose says:

Yup. And that has warning signs all over it. If she’s his sobriety crutch, I hope she’s getting her own self care.

    • LillyfromLilooet says:

No he cannot handle being single. Dude is 100% up for an emotional support human and with a significant age difference, I am sure dependency looks like love.

Ah, well. You can’t make an intellectual choice in these matters and hope your heart will figure it out. They want this.

  13. JoJo says:

Oh, I think Jen was very much behind their divorce PR. I think she orchestrated a lot of the PR back then, the farmer’s market strolls, the happy family strolls to cover up what was going on behind the scenes while he looked like a defeated puppy being dragged along. I’m not blaming her or saying that he’s a victim, but I certainly don’t believe he was behind all of it. He didn’t really need the PR back then. Jen did – she was primarily the wife of Ben Affleck for a lot of those years, and that’s what she pushed with media. It was only after the nanny affair came out that his world started to blow apart. I just don’t think it’s one or the other – they are both PR hounds. And in reality, it’s a lot harder for Jen to push the “we’re still a happy family unit even though we’re divorced” stories now that Ben has a serious relationship that isn’t Lindsay Shookus.

    • Jaded says:

At least Jen isn’t flooding the celebrity news media with more “happy family pap strolls”. She’s had one relationship that was conducted quietly, they may not even be together now, but she certainly wasn’t the equal of Ben staggering around drunk with Shookus or doing excessive PDA with Ana.

  14. lola says:

Well, their movie comes out next summer so they have to keep it together until then.

  15. Lunasf17 says:

She seems a bit over the top but I like them together for whatever reasons. She seems to enjoy the kids and would be a cool step mom. Since she doesn’t have any kids I’m guessing she’ll want a baby or two but if he is on board then it may work out. He seems like one of those dudes that is ok with starting a second family later in life and has have the money and time.

  16. Coolitude says:

Her facial expressions are too much but i still find her beautiful and talented for the films I have seen so far. They seem happy. It can last in the end. she has her famous actor boyfriend and he has a new beautiful, young and good actress girlfriend.

  17. GuestwithCat says:

I am absolutely all for marriage. It’s a fine choice to make. I recommend it if you find someone who looks promising as a life partner.

But if I were an up and coming beautiful 32 year old woman with a promising career ahead of me and enough success behind me to be able to afford my own home in Venice California, someone would have to drag me kicking and screaming out of that house and that life to move in with even the finest of men on some whirlwind whim.

But for HIM? A man whose issues are as well known as his career at this point ?

Hell nah. I might call him over for pizza and binge watch some shows if I am really bored, but I’d be kicking his ass out that same evening and be thankful the beautiful California house and the promising career is all mine and mine alone.

I can’t believe she’s going to surrender everything she worked so hard for to entangle herself with him of all people. A girl can be in love and keep her own place and life and still fit the guy in there somewhere. Why is it this all or nothing deal? I just don’t get it. She’s 32, not 22. I hope the gossip is all wrong for her sake.

  18. Jules says:

The moral of this story is that they are both going out of their way to sell their relationship to us. Yes they are infatuated with one another (which we all know isn’t gonna last), but she gets a career boost and he gets an image boost.

  19. Lucy2 says:

Well, good luck lady. For her sake and his kids’, I hope he is truly in a better place and has his life on track. but the realist in me thinks she’s going to end up bearing the heavy load, just like Jennifer did.
Didn’t she just buy that house? I thought I remembered pictures of them househunting a while back?

  20. Lizzie says:

Despite what the source told People, Ana never owned the Venice property – she was merely renting it (I’m in real estate but this is also public information that can be found on the listing). And with the monthly rent price, I’m not sure *she* was actually the one paying for it anyway. People also ran a story about this months ago, no? Seems fishy they’re running this, especially with the contradictory and incorrect info.

If they’re still together for some time after the movie they’re in together is released, I’d maybe begin to believe they were semi legit. Right now they still scream mutually beneficial PR “partners” to me for a variety of reasons and seem hardly genuine.

    • GuestwithCat says:

Even if she’s renting it, it’s still her home. Some people raise their families and live their entire lives in a rental home. So I am still shaking my head at this bit of gossip. But it’s not my circus and not my monkeys.

I wish her luck. I’ve noticed that any woman he has been involved with invariably gets the most critical and derogatory comments and hits to their reputations while he generally shakes everything off. I wouldn’t want any part of that.

      • Lizzie says:

Zero shame in renting a place to live and raising a family in it, I was only pointing out the information the source gave People was incorrect.

      • GuestwithCat says:

I know Lizzie, sorry I was trying to clarify my position doesn’t change even if she’s renting and not owning it outright. My apologies I didn’t mean to seem like I was casting shade on what you wrote.

A COVID relationship that will implode once his favorite strip clubs reopen…

  23. Silent Star says:

As annoying they are, I do believe they are genuinely happy together. I also believe she has been a good influence on him. However, given that he is an addict, so far she has only seen him on the upswing and I just hope she is realistic and is prepared for the ups and downs that come with having a partner with addiction struggles. I do hope they stay happy together — wishing them all the best.

  24. Sophie says:

He will not stay sober. They never do.

On a personal level I think she’s really losing out if she marries him. She should be with someone closer to her own age who wants to start a family with her.

On a professional level, Affleck is a total score for her. I know if certainly never heard of her before she started dating him.
