  1. I think both are bad ideas. I skipped auditions for the broadway tour of greece this year… but i KNOW i’d be a better sandy than her. Maybe i should have auditioned.

  2. Well she certainly looks greasy, hehe
Seriously though, I wish her luck with her acting prospects. She really seems to be trying to get her life back together.

  3. How does an appearance on a sitcom warrant a musical?

She doesn’t have the vocal training for that kind of singing. I’m not a huge fan of Grease though, I realize I may stand alone with that opinion. That being said, I think she would be much better suited for the chick that gets knocked-up by the dude from Happy Days– I can’t remember their names for the life of me. Like I said, I’m not a fan of this musical in general.

  4. I actually think she’d do well. And to those, who say she can’t sing - well, she can. I’m not a fan either, oh no.

  5. She CAN’T SING.
She didn’t even sound that good when she first came on the scene, with “Baby One More Time” - and she can’t have improved since then, with all her smoking, etc. Real, Broadway singers have to take care of their voice and body… something Spears clearly doesn’t do.

Maybe people are just trying to give her things to do to make her feel like she’s improving, which - if it helps - I *guess* could be good.

  7. KLO: What gives you the impression that she actually sing– not breath loudly, but actually sing.

I’m not saying anything against her in the pop industry, she has obviously done really well with her vocally enhanced tracks. I won’t lie, they’re on my ipod– but I cannot say that she has actual vocal abilities. She has great producers, along with dancing and entertainment capabilities, but singing is not her strength. She would pale in comparison surrounded by actual Broadway singers.

  8. She’d make a better Rizzo. Sandy should be played by an unknown, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

  9. At least the gig might put her in touch with a decent stylist.

  10. i think brit would do fine on the acting for grease bc she loves hamming it up and was on broadway as a kid. but there is NO way she can pull off the singing. sandy has some very high notes to hit and brit is not capable. olivia newton- john has left some huge “candies” to fill.

  11. MsMichelle315:

Well, if the producers want their show to bomb, she’s the one to go with. On second thought, it might be a hit. You know-like in the way people watch Nascar hoping to see a crash. Britney can’t sing and I’m sure the theatre folks don’t want to go the extra lengths to set her up to lip sync as usual. Plus, after her “dancing” performance at the VMA’s, it’s not looking good. Maybe the directors are blind on the show by considering her. Sam Lutfi probably called them and said he was someone else and recommended her. Oh! One last point: I don’t recall Sandy or any girls from this movie baring their midriff, except maybe a little skin on Rizzo. That would probably be a better character for her to play. She could up the anti and flash her crotch too.

  12. Harsh, harsh, harsh Ms Michelle! Hell knows I’ve been critical of Twitney in the past but I can see her making a decent job of Sandy. It’s not exactly a complex, multi-layered character - we’re not talking “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”! Sandy just has to look pretty and act winsome. And vocally she might surprise a few people. She pulled off some pretty high notes in Everytime (which I heard her sing live, with just a piano, on stage in London and it wasn’t bad at all).

  14. Grease?! This has got to be a particularly punny stunt by Ashton Kutcher. Britney = greasy. Hardi-har-har.
