Rachel Weisz’s affair with Daniel Craig has left Darren Aronofsky “devastated”

110105nt1_weisz_r_b-gr_01

These are some new photos of Rachel Weisz and her ex-fiancé Darren Aronofsky in NYC on Wednesday. That’s their son Henry, aged four. The body language is interesting, isn’t it? I interpret it as: Darren is kind of pissed at Rachel, because he suspects that her relationship with Daniel Craig isn’t quite as “whirlwind” as she claims, and that Daniel and Rachel were indeed screwing around with each other while Rachel was still technically with Darren. I also think that since Darren and Rachel are out and about with their son, that perhaps this is an attempt by both to put their son first, no matter how pissy they are with each other. For her part, I read Rachel’s body language as apologetic, and even slightly submissive, like she’s all “You can be as angry as you want. I did a crappy thing. I’ll just hang back a bit. I’m sorry.”

Us Weekly has an interesting little story about this uncool Bermuda Triangle, with Darren cast as The Aniston. According to their sources, Darren was taken aback by Rachel and Daniel relationship, and Darren is “devastated”.

Bond’s got a new girl! Rachel Weisz, 39, and her 007 hunk Daniel Craig, 42, only had eyes for each other as they shopped for fruits and veggies in the snowy English town of Dorset on Christmas Eve.

“Rachel was laughing at everything he said,” an eyewitness tells Us of the couple, who costar in Dream House. And they clearly liked being close.

“At one point, when Daniel was putting his phone back in his pocket, Rachel reached for his hand again,” says the bystander.

Not so merry about the new pairing: Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, with whom Rachel ended her five year engagement mere weeks earlier, in November.

“Darren is devastated,” says a source. “In no way did he see this coming.”

[From Us Weekly, print edition]

Yeah, Rachel and Daniel seem totally loved up, don’t they? The sex is so good, neither one of them can think properly. Just so I’m not a total curmudgeon about all of this, let me say what I like about the Rachel and Daniel pairing: I like that they’re close in age – she’s 40, he’s 42. It’s a very age appropriate pairing, and I really do appreciate that. I also like the way they look together – he’s all craggy and blonde and James Bond, and she’s all dark hair and ivory skin loveliness. Damn…poor Darren! I do feel for the guy.

i think darren got walloped by the ‘wow, she really moved on fast from me! nice to know im so forgettable/replaceable… disposable…’

  2. Eve says:

Us Weekly has an interesting little story about this uncool Bermuda Triangle, with Darren cast as The Aniston.

    LMAO!

Well, the situation is (to say the least) uncomfortable and I hope they’ll work things out for the sake of that beautiful child.

And even though Aronofsky is not exactly my type, I’d be his rebound girl if he wanted…so he wouldn’t be sad for long. Trust.

  3. DD says:

I find Darren more appealing than Daniel Craig. For me this is a downgrade on her part. Oh well.

  4. Chris says:

I feel sorry for Henry. If she can’t make the most of it with Darren, a rich internationally acclaimed director, for the sake of her kid, then she needs her head read, plenty of people have hung in there with much less to work with.

  5. guest says:

Am I the only one cynical enough to think that actors pair up with directors for their careers? (Kate Winslet-Sam Mendes, Mia Farrow-Woody Allen, Kate Beckinsdale-Len Wiseman, ect.)

  6. brin says:

You make a great body language expert, Kaiser. While I agree that Craig-Weisz look good together, I sure hope there is more than that or their relationship won’t last either.

  7. dayjolie says:

Kate didnt’ need Sam for her career.
Daniel Craig is ugly and extremly boring. I dont’ get why people consider him attractive, not even in the Bond films.

  8. munchies says:

Darren has much much better nose than Bond.

  9. Honey B says:

She’s magnificent looking isn’t she? Completely off the bat. I’m 25 and curious, how does one get skin like that at her age? We see women botoxed to hell and back, and those who don’t botox (Cameron Diaz) don’t seem too age too well. I would like to avoid such procedures myself. Is it purely genetics? I’ve seen candids of her smoking, also, I’m sure she enjoys a good glass of wine (an assumption) but she still has beautiful glowy dewy skin. Anyone have tips?

  10. Eve says:

    @ Guest (# 5):

No, you’re not the only one (especially when you mention Kate Beckinsdale-Len Wiseman — which didn’t exactly end up the way she expected if you think about it).

  11. Minx2 says:

Hmm.. I’m rather torn on this one. I think that both Rachel and Daniel’s former relationships were in fact in deep trouble before the two of them met. I don’t think you jump into an affair so suddenly when you have a great relationship at home. You simply live it even though you feel like it’s run its course until it’s either too unbearable or you meet someone you fall in love with, which eases the decision making process. Having a child complicates things but I doubt that Darren will become the new Aniston ;). Angelina would have to sweep Rachel away in order for this to happen. 😉

  12. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

She is beautiful. I have to admit, I’ve always had a girl crush on her.

I hate to see a family broken up but damn I love to see a great lustful match.

I do hope however, that she keeps her child her number one priority.

  13. mln76 says:

The situation is much worse than the Bermuda triangle Daniel Craig and Rachel were friends for years and there is a kid involved. Poor Darren. But yeah Rachel and Daniel are really hot together. I feel really immoral liking them together.

  14. Westcoaster says:

Not to be cynical, but does anyone else think that Rachel Weisz will get back together with Darren Aronofsky if he gets a Oscar nomination for directing Black Swan? It will be interesting to see who Darren takes to the Oscars

  15. Honey B–Use Retin A. It is prescription only, so find a dermatologist. You can google it. It actually arrests the aging process, but initially, you may have some swelling or redness. But if you continue to use it, you will see the difference.

  16. Minx2 says:

Honey B- first of all: stay away from the sun!! It’s the most important thing if you want to keep nice skin. People often comment how youthful my skin looks (I’m 40-something).. yes, it’s partly genetic, partly the fact that I never smoked and live a relatively healthy lifestyle (exercise!) but most importantly because I’ve never liked the beach too much and always wore sunglasses in summer as well as good sunscreen (I have coloring similar to Rachel’s). Removing your makeup at night and moisturising helps too as well as regular visits to a beautician who knows what she’s doing. And don’t forget to treat your neck like you treat your face. Hands too.
Rachel is a gorgeous woman and I don’t recall seeing her photos in a bikini in Cabo every other month 🙂

  17. Eve says:

Angelina would have to sweep Rachel away in order for this to happen.

I’m not a lesbian but now I have this super hot imagery in my mind.

  18. Sofia says:

Excellent body language analysis, Kaiser! I think you are right on. I too adore Rachel AND I love Darren for his aristry (but not particularly looks, although he isn’t unattractive but not my type). So this is hard. But they were not married and I do think that breaking marriage vows makes a difference. Yes, they do have a child together, but if you have not legally bound yourself to someone, there is usually a reason why….I mean, all of these folks who are engaged forever, I always wonder why is that? It’s almost as if they haven’t taken the last step because there is something that they are not quite sure about.

Honey- good advice from Minx there to stay out of the sun. I think a lot is alsoo genetic – Cammie poor dear has always had bad, problem skin with frequent breakouts…Rachel is just the gorge English Rose tyoe plus we never see her in the sun!

  19. Jaded says:

Honey B – get a good exfoliating facial once a month or so if you can afford it. If not there are lots of affordable products on the market. As you age, dead skin cells don’t slough off as quickly and you have to give them a little nudge. Also, a face cream with retinol and vitamin C is great and not as harsh on your skin as Retin-A, for which you need a prescription. And no tanning or smoking. SPF 30 minimum. Daily.

  20. Glyrics says:

Daniel Craig is fug, Rachel Weiss is 40, career death in Hollywood and Darren has a great future.

    See ya!

  21. P.J. says:

It’s not surprising that Darren is having trouble coping. It’s hard enough to break up, let alone having to deal with your partner running off with someone else — and having to endure the humiliation of the whole world watching!

I assume the Darren/Rachel photo op was to show they will continue to have a civil relationship for the sake of their son. It definitely helps her image. He’s being awfully nice considering the circumstances.

  22. Cindy says:

Do you even know how to check body language? They both look pissed because people are following them taking pictures while they are with their son.

As for Blaming Rachel for what has happen, word is that Darren is no saint and the break up was a long time coming. But its easier to blame the woman than the man. Notice that there is pictures of Darren with another woman kissing in a club but you would not find it here.

  23. Nicole says:

I hope Darren wins Best Director this year. If he needs comforting, I’ll be happy to help.

  24. Lori says:

I am curious about Cindy’s comments and if Darren was a saint. Time and time again, women are blamed.

But if Darren treated her well, superficially, I would take the artistic and smart director over Daniel the actor.

  25. fabgrrl says:

I’m totally in love with Rachel Weisz. I love Aronofsky’s films – I seem to be one of the few people who thinks that “The Fountain” is the most brilliant thing ever filmed.

I wonder if she got tired of waiting around for him to walk down the aisle? “Engaged” for six years? with a child together? Time to put up or shut up, Darren.

  26. Cindy says:

Here are pictures with Darren and another woman but hey, this site and some of people here will still try to blame Rachel for the break up.

    http://x17online.com/gallery/view_gallery.php?gallery=DAranofsky112610_X17

    • carrie says:

i’m late but Aronofsky and Weisz broke sooner (she came alone ,stayed 10 days in Cannes fest and she refused to talk about Aronofsky) and now he has a new girlfriend (she came with him at every award shows in 2011)

  27. Tina G says:

The reason why you see catty articles like this towards Rachel is the fact that she is with Daniel Craig. Darren will get a free pass, despite the fact that word was going around for quite some time that he was a steath womaniezer and was with other women behind Rachel’s back.

  28. jc126 says:

I can believe he was a stealth cheat. I’m biased because I once had an ex with the exact same birthdate, day and year, as Darren A. and my ex was a complete bastard. He was also quite taken aback and shocked when I dumped him.
You just never know about people.

  29. Cel says:

Together for nine years, engaged for five and with a four year old child but no wedding – maybe marriage wasn’t that important to them.

I too have heard plently of rumours about Darren and his playing away. Maybe Rachel had had enough.

  30. Anna says:

Omg their kid is the cutest.

  31. I Choose Me says:

I think their marriage ran its course and that they’ve both since moved on. There’s not always a BAD GUY when it comes to the demise of relationships. But it sure does make for great gossip.

  32. Cindy says:

“There’s not always a BAD GUY when it comes to the demise of relationships.”

You would not know it with the way this article is written. The author is trying to make it Rachel’s fault with her bad body language reading.

  33. whatyousay?! says:

did you say 5yr engagement? i think the lady just finally took the hint and got on with her life. Mr Darren apparently needed a wake-up call.

  34. endoplasmic_ridiculum says:

can anyone be more specific regarding the Darren “playing away”? Curious…

  35. Working says:

Honey B – I went to a naturopath once for this little patch of redness that wouldn’t go away on my jawline, she gave me this green goopy stuff (with aloevera and tea tree oil) to put on it. I used it on my whole face as a mask overnight, and let me tell you everytime i do it, someone compliments me on how dewy and great my skin looks! I’m 25 as well, and now i use this mask about 4 x a week, my skin looks amazing. (not to brag lol, just trying to help you out!) and it’s all natural

  36. Tiffany says:

Honey B. I think most of it is genetic. I am 41 and can go without makeup anytime. I don’t do anything special. I am usually always in the sun too but am Italian, so that helps. Always wear huge sunglasses and the whole new Olay line is brilliant.
I also got a touch of cellulite from that side of the family, just take care of your skin and work with what ya got
Her skin is beautiful, but I think she was definitely cheating on her kid’s dad, so that makes her ugly in my eyes.

  37. KLO says:

He was never going to marry her. She got sick of it. End of story.

  38. Heaven bound says:

    @ Honey-B

I have to agree with post # 15 and 16

I use Retin-A at night and a vitamin C serum in the day plus Sunscreen. I am also in my thirties and people always think that I am 21. I stay away from the sun always. Specially because I live in a place were it gets super hot. Exercise and try to eat as organically as possible. Use honey instead of refined sugar (it breaks your collagen, which makes you age faster) to sweeten your food. If you do this you will have nice glowing youthful skin.

  39. Cindy says:

To 35, Darren was not as faithful as this article would like you to think with its bias and ridiculous slant on things.

Let’s just say that Darren was playing the field while Rachel was away at work and has been doing it for years

  40. lucy2 says:

Whatever happened between them, it’s sad, they were together a long time and have a son. Hopefully they can stay friendly and be good, cooperative parents for him.

  41. Eve says:

    @ Nicole:

If he needs comforting, I’ll be happy to help.

    Get in line, bitch!

    @ Fabgrrl:

The Fountain is PERFECTION! I remember telling a friend that after watching it Aronofsky became one of my top favourite directors (a very select group with only three members before him). It’s one of the most visually stunning movies I’ve ever seen (which is ironic because its special effects were relatively cheap). Oh, and I cried like a baby during the final scenes.

    @ Cindy:

I’m really enjoying your comments here. Yeah, you’re right, people often blame the woman even when none of us know for sure when/where/how things actually happened.

  42. Ally says:

Directors tend to be controlling and self-important in their personal lives (and actors tend to be nervous narcissists), so I was surprised when this relationship lasted as long as it did (ditto Winslet-Mendes).

I think the only lasting director-actress relationship is Spielberg-Capshaw (though previously, Spielberg-Irving and Spielberg-Allen did not make it, either).

  43. Melanie says:

    Dear US Weekly,

Dorset is a county not a town

  44. Hiyathere says:

Honey B — your question about skin:

    Inside:
    –Exercise
–Drink water (at least 2 liters a day)
    –Eat fruits, veggies, lean protein
    –Take fish oil supplements
**Avoid refined sugar at all costs! Even faux sugar, like Splenda (the worst)**

    Outside:
    **Avoid sun at all costs**
–Use retinoids (Rx is Retin-A, or Roc at drug store)
–Use vitamin C topical creams during the day + sunscreen

    Darren and Rachel:

Who knows what the real story is. We’ll probably never know, but yes, the body language here is sad. At least they’re not screaming at each other for the sake of their son, who looks adorable.

  45. Crash2GO2 says:

I don’t think things were so hunky dory with them – 5 years of engagement and a child? Either get married or don’t, but to just hang there engaged forever seems weird…

  46. KateNonymous says:

I’m having trouble reading that into the body language in these pictures. DA is just making the faces you make before or during the process of hoisting a child to a more comfortable position in your arms.

  47. KateNonymous says:

Oh, and if you stay out of the sun, don’t smoke, and drink a lot of water, you dramatically improve the odds of having good skin that lasts beyond your 20s.

Genetics plays a role, too, but there’s quite a bit that is totally under our control in this case.

  48. MNGIRL76 says:

Thanks for all the great skin tips!
Has any1 ever tried this moisturizer?
I guess it’s only sold in Canada. Please let me know! I don’t want to waste my $

  49. Raven says:

She looks like Katie Holmes in the top photo and her son looks anxious. I wonder if it is pap swarming that is making him nervous or if he’s picking up tension between the parents.

  50. beth says:

stealth cheats. im not going to side with a man or a woman, but both sides can play the game. regardless of the reason, it’s sad, if one party isn’t in agreement at that moment. i say, ‘at that moment’ because you never know…
im 50/50 on this. no judgment until i know the full story from both sides.

  51. Camille says:

Rachel and Daniels celeb couple nickname will have to be ‘Beauty and the Beast’. *shudder*

  52. fizXgirl314 says:

If this is true, she’d be a complete idiot in my opinion… leaving someone who is so talented, unique, interesting and brilliant for a complete meathead seems like a high school thing to do… I would hope she’s better than that?

  53. Wanda teazis says:

Why isn’t anyone acknowledging Satsuki Mitchell, Daniel’s fiance? She has been by his side since he was virtually unknown as an actor. They have been together for close to 6 years. They were not married, but they have been engaged for 2 years. I’m sure Darren is blown away, but how about Satsuki?

  54. Mella says:

Who cares about Satsuki ?? She is a nobody.

  55. Wanda teazis says:

    Cold

  56. bappi says:

i can´t read anything from their body language except that they are pissed with the paps

  57. latam2012 says:

i feel sorry fo him, it hurts to have someone move on so quickly, like you’re nothing. the situation is suspicious

  58. brenda says:

What body language are you reading, Kaiser. All I see is a smug smile on her face in the first pic.

I’m not condoning cheating, but I think if you are engaged to someone for 5 years without actually getting married, there’s a problem.

  59. Tina G says:

I don’t feel sorry for Darren at all. Especially with word of Darren’s womanizing.

  60. Tina G says:

smug smile? You mean the smile she has for son?

If you call that smug, you have issues

  61. cn tower says:

I just feel so sorry for little Henry, who has got to be the most gorgeous child ever.

  62. Solveig says:

The kid is a mini-Paul Newman.

@Honey B, it’s genetic, too. My big sisters are much older than me and they got no wrinkles at all, especially my 42 yo sister has a flawless skin.
On the other hand I’m less lucky, nothing major, though. Probably I got these wrinkles as a result of being shortsighted (I always squint my eyes) and I suffered from anxiety for a long time, and above all I have a very dry skin no matter what I eat/drink or if I use creams or not.
Thus one of the main causes of wrinkles is muscular tension.
Despite the wrinkles people think that I’m much younger than I actually am, cold comfort.

  63. Tigs says:

    @wanda teazis

Surely you mean Daniel’s ex-fiancee Satsuki Mitchell??
If you looked at any pics of them from last March, April & May they looked very unhappy & distant from each other.
No one knows the truth about when these two couples broke up and when Daniel & Rachel hooked up properly or why they broke up, only the four people involved know this.

  64. amy says:

I don’t feel sorry for him at all. I’m just tired of people saying shit about Rachel while Darren after less than two weeks from their split was spotted kissing with a random girl at a pub, and now he seems to have a thing for Winona Ryder. So much for being desperate!
Body language? Oh god, they’re just walking around! How would you feel with paparazzi pestering you everywhere?

  65. Libby says:

Rachel is so stupid to do this to darren. And with Daniel Craig of all people. That relationship won’t last at all…you see Daniel in those pics? He can barely hold up when it comes to the paps. I’ll give it less than a year. Looks like rachel hasn’t grown up, she’s still doing everything she used to do back in the 90’s….leave one relationship and immediatly jump into another.

  66. Jim says:

I don’t feel sorry for this looser at all.TEN years with this lovely woman, and a baby…but he never though to marry her?WHY? So now he is jealous she got Bond–who loves to hold hands and cuddle-like she finally deserves? FINALLY.

  67. jobely espinoza says:

Daniel Craig is a man great, Rachel is very lucky

  68. beebee says:

what about the portman arnofsky conspiracy theory??

  69. Snooze says:

@Working is the goop you used a branded product for sale or do you make it up yourself? Name of product or recipe info would be awesome!

As for this article. My mother always told me that no-one (no matter how close they think they are) really knows what is going on in a relationship except for the 2 people in it. You can’t judge from outside because you just don’t know everything.

  70. Pete says:

So erm…..i wonder where the kid got his blue eyes and blonde locks from? Kinda looks like Mr Craig…..:o

  71. Amanda says:

    @#70
    LOL, that would be hilarious!
