Denise Richards has been caring for her ex husband, Charlie Sheen’s twin four year-old sons, Max and Bob, while their mother, Brooke Mueller, is in rehab for a reported crystal meth addiction. Brooke was put on a 5150 psychiatric hold a little over a week ago. She went missing for a couple of days afterwards and then went off to rehab. This is Brooke’s 20th stint in rehab, and she made the genius decision to go to the Betty Ford Center because she wanted to hang out with Lindsay Lohan.
Denise is a single mom with five kids at home under 10, but she’s not doing it for the money. She already makes a whopping $55,000 a month from Charlie in child support for their two daughters together, Sam, 9, and Lola, 7. (Denise also has an adopted daughter who is two.) Charlie reportedly offered her more money for caring for the twins and Denise turned him down! She did accept an offer to use his private plane to fly from New York to LA so she could see the kids on Mother’s Day. The kids were spotted out with Denise’s dad, who was presumably caring for them (along with a nanny) while Denise was away.
Meanwhile Brooke is squandering the $55,000 a month she makes from Charlie, she has no money saved at all and she’s afraid that her child support will get cut off now that Denise has temporary custody. She tried to strip guardianship from Denise and give it to her brother so that she can still draw checks from Charlie. Methhead logic. Thankfully this plan failed and the judge upheld the ruling that Denise has temporary guardianship.
Charlie isn’t about to cut Brooke off, and he probably didn’t think that her drug use was a problem until it got so bad she had to be put on a psychiatric hold. TMZ came out yesterday with more details about Brooke’s involuntary hospitalization. They claim that cops were called after she assaulted a man at her house and that she was ranting and raving about Charlie’s connections to the mafia, claiming she would bring him down. Their sources state that she was hopped up on Adderall, but I tend to believe Radar’s reports that she’s a meth addict. Charlie should call Brooke’s bluff and stop the money flowing, but I doubt that will keep her from using.

Two women who have both slept with Charlie Sheen and received large payouts from him, who have both been in rehab more times than they can count, and who are both in rehab this latest time against their will, are now in the same rehab together. What could go wrong? I’m sure they’re there to get sober and support each other as they work the program. Both TMZ and Radar report that Brooke Mueller has checked into Betty Ford so that she can be in rehab with Lindsay Lohan. Let’s see, Brooke’s rep recently confirmed that his client was in rehab for a prescription drug habit (cough crystal meth) and that she would be there for 30 days. Lindsay is in court-ordered rehab for 90 days. This is Brooke’s 20th time in rehab, that’s no exaggeration, and it’s really hard to confirm this but I think this is Lindsay’s sixth time.
According to Radar, Brooke went to Betty Ford because she wanted to hang out with Lindsay:
Charlie Sheen‘s ex-wife Brooke Mueller Thursday entered the Betty Ford clinic for a 30-day stint, because she specifically wanted to be in rehab with Lindsay Lohan RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The 35-year-old mother of Sheen’s twin boys Bob and Max was not legally forced to enter rehab, sources told us, adding that she’s not guaranteed to receive custody of the boys back when she’s through.
Insiders told us the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services didn’t want the former Palm Beach socialite going to the Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based facility because of the LiLo factor – Mueller apparently disagreed with their opinion.
The boys are currently cared for by Sheen’s other ex-wife Denise Richards who’s slated to attend a hearing in child dependency court early next month.
As we previously reported, Sheen last week issued a statement in support of DCFS’s decision to remove the 4-year-olds from their mother’s home.
All parties in the case have been instructed not to publicly speak on matters.
This is such a bad idea, but these genius addicts are anything but practical. If there are any staffers at Betty Ford left who will stand up to them, you know that they’re going to get pelted with telephones while these two carry out a crack scheme to sneak out to a local bar. Or they’ll call up Charlie and promise him a threesome in exchange for drugs. What a mess this is going to be. At least Lohan is supposed to stay another two months after Brooke leaves but I doubt that’s going to happen. I’m surprised that we haven’t heard anything about her in a couple of days. It seems just about time for her to bust out and go shopping for some sea jasper.
We heard last week that Brooke Mueller’s four year-old twins, sons Max and Bob, had been taken away by social workers following Brooke’s involuntary hospitalization for drug use. Max and Bob were placed under the temporary care of Denise Richards, the first ex-wife of their dad, Charlie Sheen. Denise has cared for the boys in the past but apparently they were with their mom when she got deep into drugs this time. Brooke was reportedly a crystal meth addict, although her rep only admitted that she was addicted to “prescription drugs” when she checked into rehab this time.
Yesterday Denise and Charlie attended an emergency custody hearing to review the boys’ placement. The judge agreed that they should stay with Denise, who is already a single mom to three daughters under 10. Their dad Charlie has agreed that the best place for the boys is with Denise, and the judge upheld that. He also read a “shocking report about conditions in Brooke Mueller’s home.” No news outlets have details of that report, but we can imagine how bad it was if Brooke was high on crystal meth all the time. There may be a reason that we aren’t getting specifics. Radar reports that the judge issued a gag order so that none of the parties leaks information to the press.
A judge overseeing the custody battle for Charlie Sheen and ex-wife Brooke Mueller‘s twins issued a gag order Tuesday preventing them from discussing the case, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Lawyers for all sides were in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday for an emergency hearing — Charlie and Denise Richards, the boys’ temporary guardian, showed up too — in the wake of Brooke, 35, being placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold and later checking into rehab to deal with her drug addiction.
The court reportedly maintained status quo, ordering that Bob and Max, 4, remain with Denise and her two daughters with the Anger Management star — Sam, 9, and Lola, 7 — as well as a third daughter she adopted on her own in 2011, Eloise, who is almost two years old.
But a source said: “The judge ordered no comment to anyone from everyone involved in the case.”
Late last week, Sheen went public with a statement declaring his support of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services who removed Bob and Max from their mother’s home late on Thursday.
“Charlie supports the actions of the Department of Children and Family Services,” the star’s publicist said.
“He knows Max and Bob are safe and in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys’s sisters. Charlie will fully cooperate and fully participate in all proceedings.”
Radar has had direct statements from Charlie in the past, so they’re probably getting this information from him. It was a smart move by that judge, he probably realizes whom he’s dealing with. It’s just sad that these boys had to see their mother like that, but at least a responsible person close to them stepped up when it was needed. It’s not like Charlie could have cared for his sons with the help of his goddesses of the month, ordered from the “Barely Legal” film franchise. He knows he’s not equipped to be a full time dad. That’s more than you can say for Brooke.

Ugh, this makes me sad. Radar reports/claims that Jason Segel (they misspell his name as “Segal” throughout the story) has been battling an addiction to alcohol after his split from Michelle Williams several months ago, and that Jason has now doing the Alcoholics Anonymous program and going to meetings. LaineyGossip had a blind item which seemed to be about this situation too (although some of you claimed it was about some other couple). I feel weird about discussing what went down during an anonymous meeting, though – but I guess Radar has a source within the meeting? That’s really gross and defeats the whole purpose of AA. If Jason wanted to sue Radar, he would probably win.
How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segal has checked himself into alcoholics anonymous in a desperate bid to win his battle with booze in the wake of his heartbreaking split from Michelle Williams, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The 33-year-old actor’s drinking was so out of control that he decided to attend a 12-step meeting on March 2 in Hollywood, Calif. in a desperate bid to save himself, according to a source.
“I have been sober for 12 days,” Segal, who starred alongside reformed alcoholic Russell Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, told fellow attendees at the mutual support meeting.
“He told everyone it’s time that he stops drinking, for good.”
Segal stayed for more than an hour listening to other people’s stories about their battles against alcohol addiction, the source added. A drinker for years, Segal is now determined to reclaim his life after Williams ended their year-long romance in mid-February. Williams, the ex of late Oscar winning actor Heath Ledger, wasn’t able to make a long-term commitment to Segal, leaving him devastated, according to sources.
“She cares a great deal for Jason but is not ready to make a commitment,” an insider said. “Maybe if they were together day-to-day, she would have more confidence in a future. But not at this time.”
Williams, 32, and Segal, began dating in 2012 and were photographed as recently as January in Cancun. Another insider cited long distance as the primary reason for the split. Williams lives in Brooklyn with her daughter Matilda, 7, and Segal is based in Los Angeles, where his hit CBS sitcom is taped.
“Jason never got rid of his place in L.A., and Michelle’s life with (daughter) Matilda was and has always been in New York,” another source said. “While Jason made every effort to make them a priority in his life — and they were top priority — he still couldn’t drop everything and leave his life and career in L.A.”
In the past, Segal hadn’t shied away from from his wild partying and heavy boozing. In 2011, a bumbling drunk Segal answered paparazzo’s questions outside a Los Angeles nightspot. He also starred in a viral video that hit YouTube, clutching a drink and serenading a fan with a karaoke version of Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” in Ann Arbor, Mich. in 2011. The actor was shooting The Five-Year Engagement at the time.
If it’s true and Jason is in the program and he genuinely wants to get help, good for him. Good for him for seeking help before he committed some crime or before he destroyed his career. I hope he realizes his sobriety is about him, not about Michelle and not about “proving” himself to her. I don’t think that’s the way recovery works. You have to get sober because you want to get sober, because you want to change your life. Good luck, Jason!
Russell Brand is suddenly all over the place at once to promote the second season of his “BrandX” show, which premieres on Friday on FX. Since I’m a bit of a Russell junkie (an odd choice of words, I realize), I tried the show out for size, and it was passable but not something that I’d catch every week. Essentially, it’s a very topical program that probably won’t hold much relevance over time because Russell’s basing the episodes largely on current events; but Russell is quite charming, gives decent stand-up intros during each show, and interacts quite lustily with his audience members. It will be interesting to see how long the show will last, and I am happy that Rusty is finally finding a niche in Hollywood beyond Judd Apatow films. Because, you know, Apatow won’t be around forever.
In the interest of promotion, Russell hit Howard Stern’s show (here’s a video clip), and of course, Howard brought up the short-lived marriage to Katy Perry (because that’s what Howard does) by saying “I knew you’d never stay married.” Then Stern asked what Russell thought of Katy dating John Mayer: “Doesn’t she know that he’s a worse womanizer than you?” Russell’s response? “Worse or better, depending on how you view it,” and then Stern countered with “He’s a better womanizer, then.” Naturally, Rusty took it all in stride with a “Hold on, I resent that! I’m world class!” Then Russell admitted that he’s not dating anyone right now, and he took great care to deny the supposed rumors that he’s been banging Demi Moore. Wait … there were rumors?
Russell also stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s show, and in doing so, he hit on fellow guest Katherine McPhee by making her sit on his lap. She handled his advances quite well, but Russell eventually relented and moved over to the next seat with a sly, “I’ll just be here…with my sexual charisma.” A few moments later, Katherine made a pointed mention of her husband, and then Rusty good-naturedly made a show of leaving the stage to avoid future ill-advised flirtation. I am almost certain this was planned beforehand for Rusty to poke fun at his own reputation, but here’s the video in case you want to judge for yourself:
In addition to the jovial business referenced above, Russell is gearing up to host a Comic Relief special (at Wembley Arena in March) to raise awareness and money for addiction treatment. We’ve already heard a lot from Russell on his beliefs concerning drug, alcohol, and other addictions when he eloquently testified in front of Parliament in an effort to classify addiction as a medical condition instead of mainly as a criminal offense. Russell believes that punishment does not deter addicts because it doesn’t treat the underlying psychological maladies, and he believes that methadone-type programs only serve as a crutch and replace one addiciton for another. In summation, Russell believes that addicts should be directed to abstinence-based programs if they are to have any hope for recovery. Given that Russell has now been clean for nine long years yet still admits he still fantasizes daily about doing drugs, it’s easy to understand why he believes it is a disease. Here are excerpts from his interview with the Guardian:
He thinks 1 in 10 are susceptible to addiction: “And if you have this condition, and I call it an illness, then drugs will address it really well, because they create a physical craving to accompany the psychological malady.” That doesn’t mean, he’s quick to clarify, that prohibition is the answer. “It’s not a moral or judgmental thing about drugs and alcohol; I don’t give a f–k if people drink or take drugs if they’ve got no drug or alcohol problem. But for those people who become a menace to society, and a pain in the arse to the people that love them, there is a solution. And that’s why I’m frustrated. ‘Cos the solution’s very, very obvious.”
He was tempted to destroy his career at the Olympics: “It’s kind of like a psychological vertigo — the knowledge that you can jump off an edge makes you want to do it a little bit. Like, what will happen to reality if I do that? Just in that moment, when I had that live mic in my hand, and I could say anything, and the knowledge that I could say anything to a billion viewers — and I think, oh my God, if I could do something like that, it would be almost just to watch the consequences — to see it all unfold. It interests me.”
It doesn’t matter what you think of him: “One of the things I’ve learned is not to live my life through others’ perspective on me, as it is irrelevant. My experience of being alive ain’t contingent — thank f–king God — on what people think of me. Now when you first get famous, there’s nothing more gratifying or exciting than reading that people like you. What one quickly — or in my case slowly — learns is that it’s irrelevant what other people think of you. It’s none of your business. Now of course I require a certain number of people to like me for my livelihood. But I’m beyond the point where I need to do a head count. All I care about now is having an intrinsic relationship with what I do, as a performer, that’s legitimate and real and authentic.”
He’s not being ironic about it either: “It’s not like I don’t care, in some super aloof cool way. It’s the same reason why I don’t go to nightclubs. Not because,” and he adopts a comic posh drawl, “‘Oh maa-an, this is so trash.’ No, because I know what it will do to me, I know what it will awaken in me and stir up. So I don’t look at newspapers no more. We’ve only got a short time here and I can spend my time stimulating my mind however I want. I can read whatever I want. I ain’t ever reading another copy of the Sun until I’ve read the complete works of Goethe.”
When Brand speaks of being tempted to self-sabotage his career while performing “I Am the Walrus” at the Olympic closing ceremony, I totally believe him. In fact, I was actually wondering if he was struggling with the urge to execute some well-timed pelvic thrusts while he stood atop that psychedelic van. Perhaps Brand can relive the moment and post the results on YouTube one day. I’d certainly watch.
Among the various Teen Moms on MTV, Jenelle Evans, 21, is probably the most messed-up out of the bunch. That’s really saying something when you’re including Amber Portwood, who is currently serving time in prison for violating probation. Both Amber and Jenelle have lost custody of their children, and both have histories of drug abuse, recurring trouble with the law, abusive behavior caught on tape, and volatile on-off relationships. Amber had the sense to sober up by choosing to go to prison (although her options were of course limited) and Jenelle is still deep in denial. The last we reported about Jenelle, in early December, she was marrying a guy who was literally convicted of a felony earlier that same day. How romantic! She since broke up and got back together with him again, all of which she chronicled on Twitter. Oh and she just got out of rehab in late November, where she was treated for an addiction to heroin. In a new interview with Star, Janelle’s husband is announcing that she’s pregnant with her second baby. Jenelle reportedly hopes this will help her earn custody of her first son back, since she’s so capable of caring for herself, not to mention two dependent children.
Jenelle Evans is expanding her family. The Teen Mom 2 star and her husband will welcome their first child together this fall, which means Jenelle’s son, Jace, and Courtland’s daughter, Jordan, will both be getting a little brother or sister — and speaking of Jace, Jenelle is sure that his new baby will help her regain custody.
“Me and Jenelle are so happy that she’s pregnant,” her husband Courtland Rogers tells Star Magazine. “She told me, ‘I’m looking forward to a second chance.’”
As part of that second chance, Jenelle is hoping that she will prove to everyone (especially the court system) that she deserves to have custody of her son. “She thinks if she can prove that she’s a good mother, she can get Jace back,” Courtland adds.
And that just may work. Jenelle is married now and if she’s staying clean and staying focused on her family and her work, that will definitely weigh heavily in her case to get Jace back. However, she’s still going to need the money to get to court, which she recently told fans she didn’t quite have.
According to the mag, Jenelle is about six weeks along and her due date has been set for September 4 — the couple’s nine month wedding anniversary, which means they could have actually conceived their baby on their wedding night right after they celebrated at Jenelle’s favorite hang out — the Olive Garden!
Just yesterday, Jenelle hinted that she was staying clean for more than just the sake of being drug-free. She wrote, “I’ve been clean for months now and there’s a reason.”
Jenelle has not been sober “for months.” Radar reported that she was “involuntarily committed into a mental health facility” after Thanksgiving, when her mom noticed track marks on her arms. That means she has been sober for a whole two months, tops, which I guess really counts as “months” in Jennele’s world. I just hope that she stays sober for her baby’s sake, but given her history and the very sketchy guy she married I doubt that they’ll have custody of the child for long.
Charlie Sheen was on David Letterman last night to promote his show Anger Management, on FX, which returns on Thursday. He was cagey when Dave asked whether he was still on drugs, implying he was, and he also said he doesn’t regret his epic meltdown. He acted like it was amazing and he fondly remembers that manic, drug-fuelled time in his life. I’m honestly surprised that it’s been nearly two years since Charlie spectacularly left his job as the highest paid actor on television, had a hoard of live-in prostitutes, and coined the most inventive phrases we’ve ever heard from a celebrity. I expected Charlie to spend an extended period of time in rehab, jail or the morgue, but none of that came to pass and Charlie is still around. He’s got a sense of humor about the whole thing, but he does admit that he’s embarrassed he was so vocal during his meltdown, which he calls a “meltforward.” Oh Charlie.
On his meltdown
A lot of it was memorable. A lot of it was experiences I would never otherwise have. I booked a 21 city tour in 33 days with no act.
On what he learned
I guess I’m not a normal person
On if he’s been to therapy
I spent 10 years in therapy. I quit about two years ago. Hey, right around the time of the meltdown… it was kind of a meltforward.
On whether he would go back on Two and a Half Men
I would like to go back, I would like to appear on their final episode.
On the fact that his character got killed off
I am dead but so is the show. They’re doing the best they can. One more season.
On Angus T Jones condemning the show I haven’t spoken to him I don’t know.
On his relationship with Jon Cryer
He’s great, one of my favorite people. I did [call him a troll] but I retracted it. He’s a genius, he’s one of my favorite costars ever.
On if he’s embarrassed
Of course! Have you seen some of those interviews? That stuff’s out there forever, man. If I had to do it all over, I probably would have been a little less vocal.
On his ‘amazingly descriptive phrases’
It was just part of where my mind was going, thank you. Stuff was just falling out and then there were T-shirts. Boom. It was a trip.
On if he was using crack cocaine back then
I like to call it base. “Crack cocaine,” I love my life. You’re awesome, I love it. Here’s the confusing part. I wish it was crack cocaine. It wish it was an ocean of vodka, a bathtub full of pills. It was just my brain was kind of separated into itself and uh, I just had to take a stand for what was right.
Dave asks “and the cocaine was a factor”?
Not just the meltdown, the previous 30 years, sure.
On if he’s sober now
I don’t really believe in that lifestyle anymore cause it doesn’t seem fair — you guys don’t want me clean and sober, that’s boring!
Please forgive me for saying that on some level I admire how Charlie Sheen is handling this. I hate that I’m saying that and I know he’s a crazy, drug-addled abusive a-hole – I know! But he’s like “yeah, I was embarrassed at how I acted but it’s all good.” Even though he’s a total addicted mess, there’s something appealing about the guy. He’s laughing at himself. I now need to go scrub myself from head to toe.
Over on The Huffington Post they report that Sheen told Letterman that he was about to be a grandfather. This begs the question: which child of Sheen’s is going to give birth? I thought he only had four kids, all little, but a quick glance at Wiki reveals that he has a 28 year-old daughter, Cassandra Jade Estevez, with his former high school girlfriend. That means that Sheen’s latest porn star/hooker girlfriend is younger than his oldest daughter. Of course she is.
Here are the videos of Charlie on The Late Show, thanks to Radar.
Denise Richards, Brooke Mueller and their kids out together in September
This is kind of a heart-warming story of a lone sober, responsible person, picking up the slack in Charlie Sheen’s mess of a life. So Charlie’s last ex wife, Brooke Mueller, entered rehab for the 19th time (literally, I’m not exaggerating) a couple of weeks ago after failing a court-ordered drug test and violating probation. Brooke is facing jail time, but that didn’t make her 19th stay in rehab stick at all. She left rehab after less than a week, using the excuse that she only needed to “detox.” I haven’t been following the updates on TMZ about this, but a quick look reveals that Brooke, 35, was under investigation by Child and Family Services while she was in rehab/detox (she has three and a half year-old twin sons, Bob and Max, with Charlie) and that the boys went to Charlie’s other ex, Denise Richards, to stay. Then Brooke tried to take the boys back, which she can legally do because she has custody still, and had them stay with another relative until she was done with rehab. She decided to do this after a beef with Denise over the fact that Denise wanted to let the boys see their dad, Charlie. Are you eyes glazing over yet? There’s more in this story on TMZ if you’re interested in the stupid details. Addicts are so logical and so concerned about their children’s welfare.
Anyway, again here’s Denise Richards, providing some semblance of normalcy in the lives of sweet, innocent little boys who are used to be cared for by prostitutes and an addict mom. (Not that prostitutes can’t be decent caregivers, especially when compared to Brooke.) Denise told Access Hollywood that the boys can stay with her and her three girls anytime, and that they’re family. The bad news is that they’re back with Brooke now that she’s out of rehab.
The beauty stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday, where she chatted about her work with ShoeDazzle – which is benefitting the Kidney Cancer Association – and she also spoke about helping Charlie and Brooke care for their 3-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max, while Brooke was reportedly in rehab.
”[The twins] are back with Brooke Mueller,” Denise told Billy Bush and guest co-host Vinny Guadagnino.
With the twins – plus her daughters Sam, 8, Lola, 7 and Eloise, 18 months, Denise had her hands full.
“This is not the first time I’ve had all five, they’re Sam and Lola’s brothers. It was a full house, lots of love and life,” she explained. “Brooke knows anytime, and Charlie, that any time they need help with the boys, that I’m there.”
Despite divorces and past problems, the actress stressed that they put their family first.
“They’re our family and they’re Sam and Lola’s brothers and I can’t imagine growing up without my sister, so anytime she needs help, I’m there for the boys,” she continued. “[Sam and Lola] are the best big sisters to [the boys] and they love them.”
Adding, “I know it doesn’t seem normal, but it is our normal. They’re little kids and I love children, and like I said, it’s our daughter’s brothers, so I can’t say no.”
I’ve heard some horror stories about California CFS and I’ve leave it at that. So don’t expect Brooke Mueller to lose custody anytime soon, despite the fact that she’s failing drug tests and is so obviously wasted out of her mind. At least Denise Richards is there to help when needed, but how confusing must it be for those little boys to have to be shuffled around like that? I just feel for them. It’s possible that Brooke will get some jail time and that Max and Bob will have to go live with Denise for a while, but again this is California. That’s not going to happen.
Another day, another story of some sad developments in Demi Moore’s life. The last we heard, she was getting dumped by her 26 year-old hookup for bringing him too much negative attention in Miami when he was trying to do business as an art dealer at Art Basel. At a party just before Vito Schnabel called it off, Demi was photographed and seen generally acting the fool, dancing in short shorts while other people were seated.
At another party in Miami, a source tells In Touch that Demi “partied until almost 4:30 a.m. She was by far the biggest party animal, her clothes coming off, making everyone uncomfortable.” Their source sums it up “For the past 15 years, Demi’s been dancing on tabletops trying to hang on to her youth.” Another source tells Star that “it’s so sad to see one of the most beautiful and famous women in the world acting so pathetic. She is oozing desperation.” Demi’s young adult daughters seem to agree, and according to the NY Daily News they’re still not talking to their mom. Apparently they made some tentative steps toward reconciling, but then Demi got wild again and messed things up with her girls.
Following her well-publicized off-the-wall behavior during Miami’s Art Basel, the small progress Demi Moore made patching things up with her daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, has come to a halt.
Moore’s daughters, whom she shares with Bruce Willis, cut off contact with their mom after her January hospitalization for inhaling nitrous oxide through whip-its, in a tough love approach to see Moore get healthy again.
They had initially stood by their 50-year-old mom after her split from 34-year-old Ashton Kutcher last year, thinking she was just “distraught.” But as her behavior has grown increasingly erratic in recent months — with her major weight loss, partying and cougar lifestyle taking center stage — the three girls decided again that removing themselves from her “needy” clutch was the way to go.
“Rumer is really the one making the decision to do this as the oldest,” a source close to the 24-year-old tells Confidenti@l’s Marianne Garvey. As the girls started to get close to their mom again last spring, the sources say Moore got weird once more.
“Around the time Bruce’s wife Emma (Heming) had the baby, it was this scary sense of, ‘Demi went off her rocker again,’” says our source. In April, Willis and Heming had an baby named Mabel Ray.
“Bruce is now very much out of the spotlight and the kids were very happy about that. They started feeling that Demi needs to stay home and be more of a mother. She checked into rehab and they’d always been pushing for her to do that. (But) After Art Basel, she came out partying and dancing on tables again.”
The source adds that Demi’s last boy toy, 26-year-old Vito Schnabel, runs in the same circles with Rumer Willis, and she was absolutely mortified about the fling.
“The kids are old enough to band together, Rumer being the ringleader,” says the insider. Our insider says Moore is also harboring animosity toward her girls because she feels they took Kutcher’s side after the split. According to our insider, “The family is very much divided.”
What would you do if you were 24 and your 50 year-old mom was dating some guy you knew through friends and generally acting like a teenager? You would probably hide in shame and stop talking to her. I know that I wouldn’t have the maturity at 24 to think “this is my mom, I have to help her.” I don’t even know if that’s the right approach to this. Demi is probably still an addict. If she’s acting like this in public imagine how frustrating it must be for her daughters trying to deal with her. They can’t help her until she’s ready for it.

Jon with his daughter Stephanie and wife of 23 years, Dorthea Hurley, in 2010
Jon Bon Jovi’s 19 year-old daughter, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, was arrested and released following a medical emergency in her dorm room at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY early yesterday morning. Police and paramedics responded to an overdose call and found Stephanie unresponsive after a reported heroin overdose. She was transported to hospital, and it sounds as if she’s recovering as she was expected to be go home yesterday.
The 19-year-old daughter of rocker Jon Bon Jovi was arrested on drug possession charges after she may have overdosed on heroin in her college dorm room in Upstate New York.
Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, a student a Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., was expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday, according to police.
Officers and a volunteer ambulance squad were called to the dorm at about 1:51 a.m. Wednesday to assist a woman who had possibly overdosed on heroin and was not responsive, police say.
After finding a small amount of heroin, police arrested a student, Ian S. Grant, 21, who, like Bongiovi, is from Red Bank, N.J. A later search of the dorm also turned up additional heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, say police.
Bongiovi, one of the rocker’s four children with wife Dorothea Hurley, was then also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. She was released and ordered to return to court. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
Here’s the thing that bothers me about this story, particularly since it’s so high profile. I think people should be able to call for medical help and get first responders on the scene for an overdose without fear of being busted by police at the same time for drug possession. Otherwise you have a situation where a call to paramedics is delayed while evidence is being destroyed, which can be dangerous or deadly to the OD victim. Kaiser made the point to me that people don’t get arrested for suicide attempts and that this is similar: it’s a medical situation.
On the other hand, this girl could have died and maybe by facing the consequences immediately she’ll get scared enough to clean up. Drug laws should be enforced, particularly in the case of hard drugs like heroin. This might also keep her friends who were using and supplying her with the stuff from getting hooked or dying themselves.
It just goes to show that drug addiction affects people from all walks of life. It must be heartbreaking when your child becomes a drug addict, I can’t imagine how painful that is. I hope Stephanie is able to get clean after this.
