The National Enquirer had this good piece of gossip about how Kate Hudson’s current boyfriend, rock star Matt Bellamy, is feuding with her ex husband, rock star Chris Robinson. You would think that those two might get along, since Chris has long since moved on and has a new wife and baby, and both he and Matt seem like relatively mellow guys. Plus guys don’t openly express hostility to each other much in my experience, and if they don’t like each other they just keep their distance. That might not be the case with Chris and Matt, though, because according to the Enquirer Chris told Matt to step off and stop acting like a dad to his seven year-old son with Kate, Ryder. Meanwhile Matt is upset that Kate is so close with Chris and his wife and “feels threatened by that.”

“The situation is very awkward because Kate is friendly with Chris, his wife Allison and their baby. Matt feels threatened by that.

“He and Chris are musical rivals with opposite personalities. Chris is an introverted hippie and Matt is a hard-rocking outgoing guy. Every time they talk, they wind up arguing…

“I think Chris is put off by how Matt has taken such a fatherly role with Ryder,” the source said. “He even told Matt, ‘Back off, man. Ryder already has a dad.”

Their frosty relationship appeared evident at Ryder’s Little League game in Malibu on March 19.

“Kate was hanging out with Chris and his wife, chatting and cheering Ryder on. But Matt kept his distance and wouldn’t talk to Chris,” the source revealed.

The blonde beauty, who gained 70 pounds while carrying Ryder, is reportedly suffering through a difficult pregnancy.

“Kate must feel like a bloated whale. The last thing she’ll want to deal with is playing referee between her ex-husband and her boyfriend,” said the source.

I don’t believe this. I’ll buy that Matt and Chris avoid each other, but I doubt that Chris told Matt to step off his son. He could of, though. He just strikes me as the type of guy who would try to get along with another guy. Kaiser and I were e-mailing about this, and in our experience it’s rare for guys to bitch another guy out to his face. (Behind their backs, sure.) Usually they either avoid each other or try to get along. I also think that a lot of guys forget that they’re mad at each other when they hang out. It’s like unspoken guy code or something. The Enquirer probably had a paparazzi source tell them that Matt and Chris didn’t talk at that baseball game, but the rest of this sounds like conjecture.

Also, how rude is it to say that Kate “must feel like a bloated whale.” She’s pregnant, give her a break!

Kate Hudson’s ex-husband and Black Crows lead singer Chris Robinson has some thoughts about Taylor Swift in a new interview with Nylon Guys. He thinks she sucks, basically. Chris is kind of coming across like a grumpy old dude who doesn’t care for these young whippersnappers on the MTV box, but I will allow that he has some semblance of a point. Chris is basically saying that Taylor Swift is an artist for kids – and after all, he’s kind of right. She sings about middle school and ponies, right? But even though I’ll give Chris his point, I still wish people would stop climbing all over Taylor. For no reason, really – she’s not hurting anybody.

Grumpy rocker Chris Robinson has become the latest star to attack country sweetheart Taylor Swift – almost a year after Kanye West ruined her big night at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards by protesting her first-ever win at the event.

Unprovoked, the Black Crowes frontman has taken issue with Swift over claims she’s one of the most talented singers in the industry today. He’s not a fan.

Robinson tells Nylon Guys magazine, “I find it embarrassing that adults are like, ‘Taylor Swift is very talented.’ She’s not. She might be cute, but she’s horrible.”

The rocker insists there are very few modern artists he enjoys listening to because most acts are little more than products of a computer.

He explains, “They have stylists who dress them, they make records with producers who play a chord into the computer and it all comes out the same… When you have computers doing it all for you… there’s no individuality. Singing isn’t always about being on key; it’s about emotionality (sic).”

I wouldn’t call her “horrible.” She’s just a kid. Ish. She’s like 20 years old, right? And she writes her own songs and she plays instruments and kids really like her and her overwhelming message to young girls is “It’s okay to be weird or strange or different, you’re still cool.” I find her sweet and harmless, especially compared to the other pop stars out there. Chris should find someone else to pick on. Hint: Miley.

Kate Hudson on 8/30/09 not wearing an engagement ring

When I’m reading about Kate Hudson’s dating habits and how she always rushes into commitment, and introducing her son Ryder to her whichever new boyfriend, I always wonder what Ryder’s dad thinks about all of this. Kate and husband Chris Robinson split back in 2006, and there were rumors at the time that she had basically left Chris for Owen Wilson, her costar in You, Me and Dupree. Of course, there were always rumors that Chris liked the groupies while the Black Crows were on tour, so it seems both of them might have had issues with fidelity. No matter what really happened between while they were married, they’ve always seemed to have a really great relationship as a divorced, co-parenting couple. Chris seemed to publicly support whatever Kate wanted, and they were even spotted kissing two years after their split.

I’ve gone into this little gossip history lesson, because I think Chris has done something that will send Kate Hudson into a minor tailspin. Chris has gotten his girlfriend pregnant! Chris’s rep confirms that the baby is due in “early 2010”:

Since Kate and Chris split in 2006 after six years of marriage, they have remained friends, sometimes even spending holidays together with 5-year-old Ryder and their significant others. Most recently Kate has been dating NY Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez — and has taken his daughter Natasha to home games along with Ryder.

This really isn’t the most exciting news, and there were some mutterings about it for a while. What’s interesting is that both People and Us Weekly ran stories about Chris’s happy news yesterday, and almost instantly Gatecrasher has an item about how Kate Hudson was spotted wearing “a sparkly diamond band on her left ring finger.” Saving face much?

Kate Hudson was sporting a very interesting new accessory at Monday night’s Yankees game: a sparkly diamond band on her left ring finger. Our spy caught the bubbly blond proudly sporting the ring while typing away on her BlackBerry when her slugger wasn’t up. Either A-Rod is making it official, or Ms. Hudson made some very careless jewelry choices! Neither a rep for Hudson nor Rodriguez returned calls for comment.

Yeah, I seriously doubt Alex Rodriguez wants to marry Kate, but he probably doesn’t mind an engagement rumor here and there, just to make her feel better. Am I the only one who find this engagement ring story a little suspicious? I think that Kate is probably happy for Chris, but it probably threw her for a loop to acknowledge that Chris isn’t waiting around for her. It’s like therapy through the tabloids.

A few weeks ago In Touch wrote an article talking about how Kate Hudson moves too fast in relationships. Then Lance Armstrong broke up with her shortly afterwards… basically because she was smothering him and moving too fast. Kate was organizing all sorts of “family” type dates with his kids and her son practically from the beginning. Now there’s gossip that Kate – who seems unable to be without a man for more than three days – is back with her ex-husband Chris Robinson.

It’s only been four days since Kate Hudson ended her relationship with Lance Armstrong — and our spies have already spotted the actress smooching in the street with her ex, Chris Robinson! The source tells OK! that Kate arrived at tiny Teteboro Airport in New Jersey yesterday in the early afternoon and took a car with her son Ryder to her SoHo apartment, where they were met on the steps by Chris.

“They were really affectionate with each other and gave each other a kiss which lasted much longer then a platonic kiss should last — 20 seconds, maybe a little longer. Without going into all the details the kiss was more than just friends. They seemed like something more going on and were very affectionate with each other.”

A pal of Kate’s tells OK!, “She and Chris have always been close and she turns to her exes after most of her breakups.” And just yesterday Perez Hilton revealed that Kate was “holed up” with another ex, retired hockey star Eric Lindros, at her mom and dad’s place in Canada, although pals say there nothing romantic between them.

Okay a few things here. First off, what Kate’s “friend” said didn’t deny or help the rumor at all. Especially with so many articles being written about how desperate she is for a constant boyfriend. Saying that she always turns to her exes after breakups just makes it sound like she’s going back to men she know will have her until she finds someone new. In no way does it make me think, “Oh, I bet she called up Owen Wilson and went for coffee.”

And that kiss sounds like a hell of a lot more than a friend kiss. I’m not saying it meant more than that to Robinson, but since Kate has passed her threshold of three days as a single, I’m guessing she’s trying to get someone safe to fill the void. Or latching onto that hockey player.

Your odds of getting to second base with her are higher in this rebound phase then they’ll ever be. Little Ryder Robinson, son of Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and actress Kate Hudson, has decided that he wants to chop off his long hair so he can look like Mom’s boyfriend-of-the-moment Lance Armstrong.

His mom, Kate Hudson, has been dating Lance Armstrong for only two months, but Ryder Robinson has become such a huge fan that he wants to be like Lance and get the same ‘do.

The 4-year-old always wanted to be exactly like his dad, rocker Chris Robinson, so he never let Kate cut his hair, says a friend close to the Fool’s Gold star. “But now that Lance is in the picture, Ryder wants Kate to lop off his locks so he can be as cool as Lance.”

The kid desperately needs a haircut. He looks like a little girl. However, given Kate’s track record, I wonder if it’s such a great idea for little Ryder to get too close to Uncle Lance. He could be out of the picture tomorrow, replaced by yet another celebrity bachelor. And I can’t help but wonder how his dad feels about this. Sure, Chris Robinson has been seen hanging out with Kate and Lance and the kids – but it’s a lot different when your own son starts idolizing the new guy. It’s got to sting a little bit. But whatever the motivation, I hope Kate brings the little tyke to the barbershop ASAP. He’d look so cute with a buzz cut!

Note by Celebitchy: There is a real trend for boys to have longer hair now, and you can see how Ryder is inspired by his dad to grow his hair long. Of course Ryder is going to emulate whichever male figure is in his life, and for some reason I think that Kate and Lance are going to last. I may sound idealistic or foolish or whatever, but I bet you they will last at least a few years. Sure it started fast for them, but they seem really suited to each other and they are trying their best for their families to get to know each other.

All of the latest divorcing celebrity couples share one commonality – they have toddler children. In fact none of the splitting couples are childless and all of them have children between the ages of one to four.

Whenever celebrities get divorced I am particularly interested in their children – how many they have and what ages and genders they are. It struck me that nearly all of the recently-divorcing celebrities have children that are going through toddlerhood and probably bugging the hell out of them. (Along with doing plenty of cute things to soften the blow of random tantrums, like saying new words you know you never taught them.)

I’m not saying that the innocent toddlers were the causes of these Hollywood breakups, children are never to blame for a divorce. It’s just an interesting coincidence. Here are the latest celebrity splits along with the stats on their children.

Chris Rock and Maleek Rock: double toddler trouble
Chris Rock was said to have filed divorce papers in early November of this year, but that turns out not to be true. TMZ reports that Chris and Maleek seem to be giving their relationship of ten years another try. They were photographed out at a charity dinner together last week and have not made their divorce official. They have two toddler daughters, Lola, 4, and Zahra, 2.

Chris Robinson has finally filed for divorce from Kate Hudson after this unlikely Hollywood couple announced their separation in mid August. They have a two year-old son, Ryder, who is such a handful that they don’t even dare cut his hair.

Reese Witherspoon wasted no time filing divorce from Ryan Phillippe, who was presumed to be cheating on her with his younger co-star, Abbie Cornish. Heather Mills and Paul McCartney seem as ill-suited for each other as an evil harpy and beloved legendary rock star could be. They managed to procreate, though, and it was undoubtedly great sex that got them together in the first place. Their daughter, Beatrice, just turned three.


Britney Spears and Kevin Federline: one soon-to-be toddler, one newborn
What recent celebrity divorce list would be complete without Britney and K-Fed? I almost didn’t include them, though, because Sean Preston turned one in September and only just entered toddlerhood. According to the Wiki, toddlers are between one to three, or maybe two to five, so little SP counts.

These breakups during their children’s toddlerhood may serve a biological purpose. Anthropologists have found that couples typically break up when their children are toddlers, with a peak in breakups after four years together. Having seen their children through the vulnerable baby stage, they are free to find another mate and reproduce again, which is our biological imperative.

The four-year pattern, as well as a tendency to divorce at the height of one’s reproductive years, also makes sense from a sociological point of view. “For instance,” Fisher says, “a prehistoric male who ‘divorced’ his partner after seeing one offspring through infancy would have had the opportunity to pick a younger ‘spouse’ more capable of bearing and raising babies. A female might leave one mate to ‘marry’ a better provider for her and her forthcoming children.”

Notable recent celebrity divorces that did not involve toddlers include Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, Eminem and Kim Mathers, and Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear. Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have two toddlers, though, and I didn’t include them since their split is old news.

There was a report last month that Kate Hudson was “about” to file for divorce from her husband of six years, scruffy Chris Robinson, but that turned out not to be true because no one has filed the paperwork yet.

Chris is currently touring with his band, The Black Crowes, and it is said that Kate is annoyed that he’s away from their two year-old son so often, which may have led to their breakup. It is also rumored that Chris wants to get back together with Kate and make the relationship work, and that Kate’s mom, Goldie Hawn, is also pushing for a reconciliation.

Star has a story in their latest edition about how Kate “tamed” her new boyfriend, Owen Wilson, but their only evidence is Owen’s toned-up physique and the fact that he doesn’t hang out at the Playboy Mansion any more. Kate and Owen are set to spend some time apart while she films “Fool’s Gold” with Matthew McConaughey in Australia in November, and Kate may have postponed filming to spend more time with Owen.

Star also runs a shocking picture on their cover of Kate’s 20 year-old brother, Wyatt Russell, on a stretcher.It turns out that Wyatt only suffered a back spasm and shoulder injury while he was playing hockey.

Overall it seems like there’s not a lot of meat to this story.

Kate is giving her estranged husband, Chris Robinson, a divorce consolation prize. She is said to be splurging on a pricey house for him so that he is set up in style to share custody of their two year-old longhaired son, Ryder:

Not only is she gorgeous, she’s generous too. Robinson is reportedly jealous of Kate’s relationship with her co-star Owen Wilson, and the house may be an attempt to placate him.

US Weekly reports that six-toed Kate Hudson is about to file for divorce from her husband of six years, Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson. She announced her split in mid-August, and some speculated that the couple would reconcile after they were photographed together with their two year-old son, Ryder, since the news of their breakup came out.

Kate has since vacationed in Hawaii with her “You, Me and Dupree” co-star Owen Wilson and was spotted out at dinner with him this weekend.

Owen has vehemently denied being responsible for Hudson’s breakup, but it looks like he might be the impetus for the divorce. An insider tells US that Kate is about to file:

Word was that Kate and Chris Hudson might reconcile after announcing their separation just three weeks ago. They were seen out with their three year-old son, Ryder, and there was a rumor that they were going to attend a NASCAR event together. That doesn’t seem too romantic, and it might not have been enough to save their marriage.

Chris was said to have involved Kate in threesomes and group sex while on tour with his band, The Black Crowes. There was a recent blind item in the NY Post that suggested that a famous woman involved in a high-profile breakup was more into the women in the menage a trois she was involved with than her husband. Many people assumed it was about Hudson. Let’s hope the chicks she liked were hotter than the ones she’s hanging out with now.
