The few times I’ve caught Wendy Williams’ show I’ve been thoroughly amused. Wendy seems to truly love gossip, and she regularly tells it like it is and calls people out. Wendy was discussing Heidi Klum’s new relationship with the bodyguard recently, and she pretty much said that Heidi must have been screwing the help back when she was married to Seal, considering that Heidi’s new boyfriend has worked for their family for four years. Heidi first confirmed the relationship in September, but claimed at the time that it was “new.” In a more recent interview, Heidi told the German press she was “in love” and that she fell for the bodyguard during the four year period he worked for her family. Well that really set Wendy off! She went off on Heidi during a gossip commentary segment on her show. Honestly, I didn’t care too much about this story before now. Wendy got so worked up that she got me to care, you know? Here’s more, from US Weekly. US gives the impression that Seal was there on Wendy’s show, but he wasn’t. Wendy was just kind of addressing him in general, letting him know she had his back.

On her self-titled talk show Tuesday, Williams, 48, tore into the Project Runway host, 39, and her intense new romance with her longtime bodyguard Martin Kirsten.

Although Klum went public with the relationship — her first since she and husband Seal announced their separation in early 2012 — in September, Williams argued to her audience that Klum and Kirsten have been romantically involved for much longer than that.

“He’s worked for Heidi in the family for four years. Seal, you know what that means — and not just when you were out of town,” she said, later adding, “I don’t think this is a new relationship, do you?”

(Of her South African-born beau, Klum recently told German magazine Bunte “I’m in love!” She explained to Katie Couric back in September that the romance had “just started” with Kirsten over the summer. Although Seal initially lashed out about Klum’s new beau, complaining that his ex was “fornicating with the help,” he later explained that he never implied his wife cheated during their seven-year marriage.)

Referring to a displayed snapshot of Kirsten carrying and embracing Leni, the eldest among Klum and Seal’s four kids, Williams commanded the “Kiss or a Rose” singer to “[get] half her money.”

“I haven’t reported a story about love this disgusting since Sandra Bullock and that man,” Williams continued, referring to Bullock’s ex-husband Jesse James, who infamously cheated on the Oscar-winner with many women.

“It pains me to report stories like this when the woman, in my mind, is clearly in the wrong,” Williams ranted.

She then offered Seal an action plan to “get back at” Klum: “You don’t let the finances go with this divorce. I don’t know how much you’re worth, but she’s worth more. you need half!”

Her second suggestion for Seal? “You need yourself a new girlfriend,” she advised. “Someone young, hot and with a long future in modeling, and really fertile.”
She added: “I’m thinking someone like Kate Upton would make Heidi’s pot liquor cooler.”

I went back and read US’ recap of what Heidi told German magazine Bunte, (I missed it because it came out on Friday) and Wendy is absolutely right. Heidi admitted in that story that the bodyguard worked for her family for four years and that she fell for him during that time. She said “I’m in love,” and added “This is one reason why I’m so fond of him. He’s been helping me for four years now, and he takes wonderful care of the kids. He plays with them, he protects them. I trust him.” That’s ridiculous! It’s one thing to openly date the guy, it’s quite another to admit that she fell in love with him while she was married to Seal! All of this happened when she was gushing about Seal and how Seal was such a great husband and father. Maybe she’s rewriting her history with this guy in order to make Seal jealous, but either way it’s very, very shady. You wouldn’t expect Heidi to learn that she should STFU about her relationships either, after how it turned out with her marriage.

I guess Seal was telling the truth when he said Heidi was screwing the help on the side.

Update: A lot of you are commenting that Heidi isn’t admitting falling in love with the bodyguard when she was married. That’s what I read into it, but I’m definitely taking a leap. The fact that she admits he has been with her for four years is very suspicious to me.

This is such a hot mess. Last Friday, former general David Petraeus resigned as director of the CIA, publicly citing an extramarital affair. Petraeus had been married to his wife Holly for decades, and after overseeing the surge in Iraq and then succeeding General Stanley McChrystal as commanding general of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (after McChrystal resigned after his crazy Rolling Stone interview back in 2010.) In 2011, Petraeus left the military and was confirmed for DCIA. So he had only been at Langley for less than a year and a half, and apparently it was just a huge mess and it’s only getting worse.

(Note: from here on out, I’m just going to call him David because I’m tired of typing “Petraeus”.)

David’s mistress was a woman named Paula Broadwell. Broadwell was with David in Afghanistan, at first working on her doctoral thesis and then writing an authorized biography of the general. According to David, their affair only began when he left the military and when he was at Langley. Here’s what’s known:

*Broadwell is married to a doctor. And she’s a mom of two. She’s 40 years old. David is 60, and he and his wife have been married for 37 years.

*An FBI investigation was triggered when a woman named Jill Kelley began receiving threatening emails from Broadwell. Kelley was an unpaid social liaison to US Central Command, and the assumption is that Broadwell thought Kelley and David were having an affair, and Broadwell was warning off her mistress competition.

*When the FBI became focused on Broadwell, they found that she and David had been communicating extensively over email, some of the emails being sexually explicit, including a reference to “sex under the desk”.

*Broadwell’s emails to Kelley include warnings to “back off” and “stay away from my guy”.

*Pres. Obama maintains that the first inkling he had of any of this was last week when David handed in his resignation (Obama said he wanted to think about it, and he accepted the resignation on Friday). Most senior Democrats only heard about it on Thursday and Friday too.

*But! There were some senior Republicans who knew about it the week before (before the election) – some “disgruntled FBI officers” leaked to some Congressional Republicans. There are now significant questions about how the FBI conducted their investigation into Broadwell and David.

*Before last week, David Petraeus was considered one of the ideal candidates for GOP nomination in a future presidential race. For real.

*Most commentators and journalists are going relatively easy on David, even going so far as to make excuses for him, but I did see one dude who really went after him – apparently, David’s wife Holly is widely respected and loved in the military community, and she does a lot of outreach and support work for wounded warriors and military families. Holly has not issued any statements yet, and that’s just a reminder that while this sex scandal is pretty epic and interesting, the dude is still a douchebag for screwing around on a good woman who stood by him for decades and worked tirelessly with great military causes.

There are a ton of recent stories about Brandi Glanville, and I’ll open with the most worrisome one. Brandi was rushed to the hospital by ambulance Thursday night after feeling nauseous and suffering chest pains. OK! Magazine has that story, along with the insider quotes that “doctors couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with her” and that “She’s home now, but she’s sick.” Brandi also found a lump under her arm that was not cancerous, according to doctors. I’m thinking she’s fine now and that she might be having some issues with medication. Before she caught a flight out of LAX last night she was been tweeting that she was on Xanax and antibiotics, writing “I’m high on Xanax and ant biopics tweeting f49m my flight so f y want an honest answe to something ask me now before I pass out.” Earlier she tweeted “Im hyper, nervous, anxious and heavily dosed with antibiotics my poor driver thinks im crazy.” Just put down the Blackberry, Brandi. Do not tweet when you’re not feeling well unless you can self censor.

As part of promotion for RHOBH, Brandi has been talking to multiple outlets. She recently told the NY Post that she’s completed a book detailing her divorce from Eddie Cibrian, who of course cheated on her with LeAnn Rimes. Brandi confirms the stories we heard at the time that she was struggling financially since Eddie was broke and didn’t leave her with anything. What’s more is that she had no personal credit and couldn’t even rent a home without having her father co-sign the lease. If Eddie had no money now we know part of his motivation for staying with LeAnn. I’m just saying, it’s not like he’s working much lately beyond doing bit parts.

The former fashion model — who replaces Camille Grammer this season — says she was nearly broke, with little income and zero credit after husband Eddie Cibrian dumped her for country singer LeAnn Rimes three years ago.

“I was a 36-year-old woman who couldn’t lease a car and couldn’t lease a house,” she tells The Post.

“For 13 years, my name wasn’t on one account. I am still building my credit.”

The Botox-loving mother of two claims she ended up with almost nothing in the divorce. “We were living way above our means,” she admits, “in a 10,000-square-foot house. There wasn’t a lot to get, honestly.”

Glanville was eventually able to rent a modest, single-story home in LA’s San Fernando Valley, which viewers got a chance to see last week on the opening episode of “Housewives.”

“I had to pay the whole year in advance,” she admits. “I had to get my daddy to co-sign.”

The new TV gig is helping Glanville get back on her feet financially, but she remains locked in a nasty legal dispute with Cibrian, who has forbidden their two sons to appear on the show.

“The kids are not on the show this year,” she confirms. “But my lawyer is working on it.”

Glanville and her ex share custody of Jake, 5, and Mason, 9.

“When I am working I don’t get to see my children,” she says. “And that is not OK with me. “

She calls Cibrian “hypocritical” because “he does red carpets and all these paparazzi shoots with them. It is the same difference…”

The Sacramento native has tried to bury the hatchet with the “Playboy Club” actor, she says. (“Last year I had Eddie and LeAnn over for an Easter egg hunt”).

But she is no longer speaking to Rimes, who is suing a pair of Glanville supporters for what the country singer alleges is Internet bullying.

“I want the lawsuit to go away,” Glanville says. “It is not going to end up good for anyone. I want LeAnn to be fine. And to be happy. Just take my husband and go away.”

Glanville says her children will one day learn the details of their father’s infidelity from a book she has just completed.

“For now they just know that Daddy fell in love with somebody else,” she says.

Glanville, meanwhile, is single but enjoying a “friends with benefits” arrangement with an unnamed Los Angeles businessman.

“I am treating this show as a platform and a window,” she says.

“If it is gone tomorrow, I made the most of it. I joke that I whore myself out to anyone that will pay me. But that is kind of what is happening.”

Brandi tells it like it is, that’s for sure. You know that LeAnn is going to sic her lawyer on Brandi once that book comes out. Then LeAnn will write her own book all about how she’s this great bonus mom and how Brandi is crazy. Wait – I looked it up. Of course LeAnn is writing a tell all book, she had plans to do it right after Brandi’s planned memoir was announced. But LeAnn claimed back in April (when that story came out) that although she’s writing a book it won’t be a tell-all. She’ll probably wait until Brandi’s book comes out and then make sure she covers the exact same material.

As for Brandi being left broke and to fend for themselves – a lot of women are in that position post-divorce and they’re much worse off than Brandi. She hustled and took the opportunity she had and now she’s on a reality show. I get the impression that she’s a wild person but that she’s playing it up for the cameras because she knows she has to bring the drama to keep her part. Look at what happened when Camille calmed down and got nice. I haven’t been keeping up with RHOBH but I guess Adrienne Maloof and Brandi are in some kind of feud now. Adrienne recently snarked in an interview that Brandi was an instigator. She said, in part “I’m not always sure of her motivation, but being involved in some sort of drama must make her feel more relevant.” It’s easy to see Brandi’s motivation. She wants to get paid and make a name for herself. She did what she had to do post-divorce.

Josh addresses the cheating at 2:00

Fergie’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview aired last night. I’m not going to front like I watched it at all, I didn’t, I’m just going on the clips and quotes posted online. We previously saw a preview clip in which Fergie addressed the “rumors” that Josh Duhamel cheated on her in 2009, nine months into their marriage, with a stripper he picked up in Atlanta while filming there. The story was pretty much confirmed by multiple outlets, and the stripper went on the record with some sordid details. Josh’s response at the time was to admit being in the strip club that night, but he dismissed the woman’s claims as “ridiculous.”

Fergie didn’t deny to Oprah that Josh cheated, she just very carefully worded her statement to neither confirm nor deny that story, while explaining how they overcame that period in their marriage. She told Oprah that they went to therapy together and that those “difficult times” made them “stronger as a unit, as a partnership… Our love today is a deeper love.” It looked to me like Fergie was kind of acknowledging that Josh cheated, while not directly saying it.

Well now we know how Josh addressed it. (That video is above.) He kind of talked around it, which I don’t blame him because he was at a family dinner with Fergie while talking to Oprah. It was uncomfortable to see. He said that he’s glad that incident happened because “it put me in check and made me realize what kind of man I wanted to be… As much anger as I carried about it before, I’m actually happy that it did happen. It made me straighten my ass out.” At no point did he deny cheating at all, which honestly surprised me. Here’s more, thanks to ET Online:

Nine months after Fergie and Josh Duhamel tied the knot on January 10, 2009, rumors hit the tabloids alleging that Duhamel had a one-night stand with a stripper. Today, the couple explained how that rocky period strengthened their marriage on Oprah’s Next Chapter.

“We went to therapy,” Fergie said when asked if the couple ever thought of breaking up. “The whole thing just became a positive for us … Our marriage today — I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Duhamel expressed similar sentiments later in the interview.

“Now, I’m actually happy that all that happened, because we wouldn’t be as strong as we are now,” said Josh, who has admitted to visiting a strip club, but has always denied the cheating claims.

“As much anger as a carried about it before, I’m actually thankful that it did happen, because in a lot of ways it made me straighten my ass out,” the former Las Vegas star continued.
With those dark times behind them, Fergie and Duhamel seem to be looking toward the future which could include kids.

“Two is our number. We negotiated that early on,” Fergie said when asked if they wanted a lot of kids. “He told me he wanted five and I said, ‘I’m not going any higher than two.’”

You know, these two were surprisingly honest and open about this. Just reading the quotes, I expected to find Josh full of sh*t, but I didn’t. I got the impression that he wants to change, that he considered himself changed. I was impressed that he didn’t directly deny anything, because I really expected him to. That doesn’t mean I think he’ll be faithful throughout the rest of his marriage, but maybe he’s trying.

That video above also includes the part mentioned by ET where Josh and Fergie say they want two kids, and that they negotiated that number together. Fergie is 37. I wonder if they’ve been trying to get pregnant for a while and if they’re having fertility issues. If so, they’re not saying.

Oprah has another clip with Fergie online in which she talks about overcoming her crystal meth addiction. She’s discussed this before. She says that “therapy, soul searching” and “discovering why I took the drugs in the first place” helped her get past that period. She claimed that “feeling inauthentic” in her group Wild Orchid led her to take drugs, but she didn’t know how to break free and “got into a [drug] scene” in which she was addicted for about a year. She also describes her rock bottom (around 2:00 in this linked video) in which she says she was having paranoid hallucinations and had an awakening in a church where she told God she would quit doing drugs. It seemed a little hokey to me, but it sounded like it was real for her.

Back in the fall of 2009, Josh Duhamel cheated on his wife of just nine months at the time, Fergie, with a stripper. The scandal took the covers of US Weekly and People Magazine. The stripper revealed her identity and gave several interviews complete with sordid details of the night in question. (They did it for hours and p0rn was playing in the background.) It was confirmed that Josh was filming in the town in Georgia where the woman worked on the night she said she was with him. Other people even confirmed that he was in that particular strip joint on that night. This wasn’t just a “rumor.” What’s more is that there were additional allegations of Josh cheating on Fergie with other women while he was away on set, as reported by US Weekly. So something went down, and it probably wasn’t just a one-time thing.

After that happened, we heard that Josh was in “the doghouse” with Fergie, but it’s clear she eventually forgave him since they’re still together. They even had a vow renewal ceremony a few months later, to coincide with their one year anniversary. Well I’ve wondered for some time what Fergie’s take on Josh’s cheating is, and she kind-of told Oprah about it. Fergie’s interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter will air October 21, and Access Hollywood had a juicy excerpt in which Fergie discusses Josh’s “rumored” cheating. A video of that segment is below. I see a sad look of acceptance and “what can you do?” in her eyes. Here’s a transcript:

Oprah:Nine months into your marriage, rumors began to swirl about him being with a stripper. How was that for your marriage?
Fergie: It was difficult

Oprah: Did that bring you closer together? Did it help you reevaluate your marriage?
Fergie: Definitely. When you go through difficult times it really makes you stronger as a unit, as a partnership. It does for us anyway. Our love today is a deeper love.

Note that she didn’t deny anything at all, which I admire. A lot of women chose to forgive their cheating husbands, and to either look the other way or believe they’ve changed and won’t ever do it again. It seems like it’s usually the case that they “won’t ever do it again” because they’ve been thoroughly busted and can no longer deny it, which is what happened here.

I don’t get why women without kids and with the means to leave decide to stay and to put up with it, but Fergie obviously did. She may actually think Josh is different now and believe that their love is stronger because they confronted this together. I guess that can happen, and that people can change, but it must be so hard to rebuild that trust again. (I do believe the “once a cheater” adage, but there have to be exceptions. I doubt Josh is one.) Fergie looks kind of sad to me here, and I wonder why she greenlighted this question from Oprah. She doesn’t seem entirely convinced in what she’s saying. Maybe she’s reached some kind of understanding with Josh about his cheating and she knows what she’s saying is BS.

I still remember the first time I became aware of Richard Gere — from the pages of a mid-1980s HBO guide advertising Breathless. At the time, I was crushing on Harry Hamlin from Clash of the Titans as well as Rick Springfield, but I still thought Richard was kind of cute in a movie idol sort of way. Since then, I haven’t really given the guy much thought other than his strange 4-year marriage to Cindy Crawford in the 1990s, Pretty Woman, and (of course) that terrible gerbil legend curated by Sylvester Stallone. Even if Sly made that up, it still kind of killed the Richard appeal for me. You know, animal cruelty and whatnot.

Richard has been laying pretty low in Hollywood these days aside from appearing in the occasional film and crapping all over Pretty Woman. (Although he will soon be appearing in an ensemble comedy called Movie 43 that stars Emma Stone and lots of other gorgeous ladies.) Speaking of which, Richard still loves the ladies even though he has been married to Carey Lowell since 2002. He apparently doesn’t let his wedded status stop him from putting the moves on women in public. He even does it in front of their husbands and doesn’t care if he causes a total scene. Richard Gere was told off by a diner at Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton on Saturday night when he began chatting with the guy’s gorgeous wife. When the hubby had enough, he told the star, “Get the [bleep] out of here” — but Gere still wouldn’t stop gabbing in the blonde’s ear.

Gere was spotted with a group of his agents at tony Nick & Toni’s after picking up a lifetime achievement award at the Hamptons International Film Festival. But during dinner, a blonde at another table — where three couples were sharing a meal — seemed to catch his eye.

“He kept staring at this woman,” an eyewitness says, to the point where “her husband seemed agitated by it.” But Gere, who’s married to actress Carey Lowell, didn’t stop there — he got up and approached the strangers, spies say, to zero in on the blond beauty.

“He approached the other table,” our witness says. “He didn’t acknowledge anyone around her. He was leaning in and trying to talk to her, leaning into her ear.”

The woman, our spy says, “was looking at [Gere] like, ‘What are you doing here?’ ” When her hubby had enough, “He said, ‘Hey, listen. Get the [bleep] out of here,’ ” according to our source.

But Gere didn’t get the message. “He didn’t leave,” the spy says. “He just tilted his head to lean in. He bent back down to her. He didn’t give a [bleep]. It was a bad situation.”

Before things got more heated, Gere headed out, and the hubby headed outside to see that he was gone. The rest of Gere’s group stayed for another half-hour, but, “There was tension in the room.” After he left, the woman who caught his eye “was trying to make [her husband] calm down,” the spy said. “It ruined their night.”

A rep for Gere says: “Reality is, he was at a table with his agents and their wives. On his way out, he stopped to say hi to the people at that table, and joked with the people briefly before leaving.”

Even if we give Gere the benefit of the doubt and just label him a “friendly guy” who likes to say hello to randoms, there’s still no excuse for him blatantly hitting on a married woman and ignoring her husband when told to get lost. Is Richard just clueless as to the conventions of society, or does his ego override all possible displays of manners? Not to mention Richard’s poor wife having to put up with this nonsense.

Does anyone else watch It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia? It’s not one of my can’t-miss favorites or anything, but it’s funnier than most of the network comedies on TV right now, and Danny DeVito is great on the show – he plays the crazy, perverted criminal patriarch to a band of losers. I always thought that DeVito’s casting on the show was kind of genius – even though Danny has played a lot of losers and malcontents in his career, most people have the warm-fuzzies for him whenever they see him, and the IASIP character subverts that. Anyway, it turns out that Danny might actually be kind of sleazy in real life. Following the announcement that Danny and his wife of 30 years, Rhea Perlman, were separating, Radar claims that Danny’s had a wandering eye for YEARS. Gross.

The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star’s wife of 30-years was finally fed up with the 67-year-old actor’s flirty and inappropriate ways and gave him the boot.

In fact, things have been bad between the pair for over 10-years with the marriage hanging by a thread.

“He may not appear to be a ladies’ man, but Danny certainly gets a lot of female attention,” a source close to the family told RadarOnline.com. “Danny can be quite the flirt and because of his powerful status in Hollywood, he’s not ashamed to abuse his position and chat-up young, aspiring woman looking to make it in the industry. Despite his reputation as a lovable, funny guy in movies and on TV, Danny’s actually quite the womanizer. And, like a lot of red-blooded males, if he sees an attractive girl in a coffee shop or walking down the street, he will give her the eye.”

“After years of turning a blind eye to it, Rhea finally snapped. She had enough of his bad-boy behavior and wanted an end to their marriage. The break-up has been on the cards for a long time, probably over 10 years, because they haven’t been happy for a long, long time,” the source revealed.

The pair married in 1982 and have three kids: Lucy Chet, Grace Fan and Jacob Daniel.

Danny and Rhea worked together on the classic sitcom Taxi from 1978-1983 and later appeared onscreen in 1996’s Matilda. In 1992, they founded Jersey Films. Danny and Rhea weren’t one of my “couples that can never break up”. A lot of you used to yell at me when I referred to Jessica Simpson’s lover/boyfriend/baby-daddy/fiancé as her “K-Fed”. Eric was a professional football player, and now that he’s retired, his main job seems to be “taking Jessica out to eat” and “having sex with Jessica Simpson”. He plays a lot of golf too. And there were a lot of rumors that Jessica put Eric on her business payroll, so he gets a check for “advising” her on various things too. So… it’s all pretty sketchy, although I will admit that Eric has always seemed like a half-way decent guy, and he seems to love being a dad to baby Maxwell. But Star Magazine is trying to start some sh-t! Star/Radar claims Eric might have still been sexually involved with his ex-wife when he started up with Jessica:

New mom Jessica Simpson will no doubt be praying for a happy ending when she finally heads to the altar with fiance Eric Johnson, as the new issue of Star magazine lifts the lid on his alleged past indiscretions with none other than his ex-wife!

The Dukes Of Hazard star may have thought that her future husband’s marriage to Keri Johnson was well and truly over by the time she started dating him, but sources exclusively tell Star that the former NFL player was actually sleeping with both of them at the same time.

The news shouldn’t come as any surprise to Simpson, who knew that Johnson was still married to the freelance stylist when the pair first met at a mutual friend’s house in Los Angeles, where he had even brought Keri along as his date!

The couple was already having problems, but it wasn’t until later when they officially decided to take a break, “hoping it would ultimately make their marriage stronger,” according to one of Keri’s confidantes.

Meanwhile, Eric jumped headfirst into his relationship with the sexy singer, which sparked outrage with his ex-wife’s friends.

“He’s a two-timing cheat!” alleges one pal. “He was still having sex with Keri after he started seeing Jessica. She needs to think twice before marrying him. He’s already cheated on her once — he’ll most likely do it again.”

Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Eric and Jessica, who recently welcomed their first child, daughter Maxwell, will be tying the knot anytime soon, and the bride-to-be even told Katie Couric that they haven’t set a date yet.

“It won’t be this year,” she told the talk show host. “I really want to do a big, fun wedding with my friends and family.”

Is it just me or is this really old news? Those of us who were paying attention when Jessica first got with Eric already knew that he had some sketchiness with his ex-wife. Like, they were trying to reconcile and then he met Jessica and the reconciliation was OVER. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was overlap in those first few months, and for that… well, all of them are sketchballs. But it’s not like this “cheating scandal” involves Eric currently cheating on his baby-mama. Right?!?

These are photos of Arnold Schwarzenegger out promoting his book yesterday in NY, and outside The Daily Show. His face looks so orange and tight, and you can see the makeup around his hairline. I believe he’s had a facelift that settled moderately well, and that he’s not getting botox and fillers at least.

In Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, he gave the impression that his estranged wife Maria Shriver was completely aware that he had cheated on her multiple times during their marriage. Arnold was talking about his admitted affair with actress Brigitte Nielsen in the mid 80s, when he was living with Maria but had not yet married to her. 60 Minutes’ Leslie Stahl asked him if that was his only affair, and he said “No. I had others. But I mean… it’s something that’s obviously between Maria and me.” So even though Ahnold didn’t state it outright, he definitely made it sound like Maria knew he was a serial cheater.

According to sources who spoke to TMZ, that’s not the case and Maria is peeved, especially because she defended him against sexual harassment and groping charges in 2003. First of all, 60 Minutes never asked Maria for her take on the story before it aired. This seems standard for their celebrity profiles, but in this case Arnold was talking about how his wife confronted him about his love child, and how she reacted to the scandal, and we had to take his word on it. He admitted that Maria hadn’t read the book at all, but said that she gives him a kind of blanket approval and “is wishing me well with everything I do.” When that involves sharing such personal and painful details of her life, I doubt that’s the case, but we can’t expect Arnold to try and spare his wife’s feelings after 25 years of marriage.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was lying through his gap teeth when he claimed Maria Shriver KNEW he was banging other women during their marriage … this according to multiple sources connected to Maria.

Arnold fessed up to cheating on Maria multiple times during his interview with “60 Minutes” last night … saying Maria knew about ALL of his trysts.

But one source close to Maria tells us … “BULLSH*T” — saying Maria never would have defended him against all of the groping claims several years ago had she known Arnold was stepping out. The source also says Maria would have ended the marriage had Arnold told her.

Another source tells TMZ … Maria definitely suspected Arnold was screwing around behind her back … but it was never discussed until she confronted him about his love child with the maid.

But we’re told Maria was really in love with Arnold during their marriage … and was truly crushed when she learned of his betrayal.

So here’s the thing. Maria “suspected” that Arnold was screwing around, but she stayed. A lot of women do that and I don’t blame them. They have kids and families and a life with these men, and they want to believe the best of them, and that they’ve changed or that it was a one-time thing. They stick their heads in the sand instead of doing some digging. The reality is often a lot harsher than they believe, and Maria’s being faced with it full-on now that Arnold is promoting his book – which she allegedly hasn’t read yet. Sources tell TMZ Maria doesn’t want to read it, and that “What Maria has already been through.. nothing surprises her anymore.” As for what’s in the book, The Daily Beast has a nice overview of the best parts, most of which we’ve already heard in the press. It doesn’t sound like Arnold admits to groping women, cheating on his wife, and generally being an a*hole beyond the minor details of his indiscretions he’s shared and tried to gloss over. (Love child – no biggie! It was a one time thing with the maid. It wasn’t hush money, I just wanted to help her out. I did cheat with a co-star but I wasn’t married yet.)

Arnold had a live interview on ABC News yesterday. He bragged about his accomplishments, but he did seem to be trying to sound more contrite than he did on 60 Minutes. He must have realized how poorly he came across, and how arrogant he seemed. He called his affair with the maid “one of the disastrous situations I’ve created and the worst thing that I’ve ever done.” He also dismissed it as “one stupid mistake.” He also said that he hopes to reconcile with Maria and thinks she wants it too. “Maybe Maria doesn’t say that, but I’m sure that Maria wishes that we could all be together and I definitely wish that we could all be together.” Keep dreaming. Stay strong, Maria, don’t take him back!

Arnold Schwarzenegger was on 60 Minutes in an extensive profile and interview last night to promote his new book, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, which is out today. The first part of the interview was a kind of tribute to the success he’s achieved in life, which is of course considerable. The second part was more about his screw ups, and his messed up relationship with Maria.

When it came to discussing his admitted infidelity he was arrogant, smug, and looked pleased with himself. He smirks when he describes cheating on his then live-in girlfriend, Maria Shriver, with Brigitte Nielsen when they made Red Sonja together in the mid 80s. Leslie Stahl asked Arnold if that was the only time he’d cheated on Maria and he said “no,” but didn’t get into details, simply saying “it’s something that’s obviously between Maria and me.” Damn this guy is cold, he really is. He’s not defensive and he’s not playing the victim card like Jesse James. It’s like he thinks things just happen and he doesn’t have to make excuses or apologize. He plays lip service to feeling bad, but Leslie said he didn’t even express regrets in his book.

On the scandal over his love child with the maid, he was vague and didn’t get into details, using the excuse that he wanted to protect his kids. It was weak, lame, and insincere considering he just put out a book describing how his wife found out about the boy, who was 13 at the time. Instead of focusing on what he did, Arnold chose to tell the story of how his wife confronted him with her suspicions and how it affected her. It seemed like a way to deflect blame from himself and to further humiliate his wife. Arnold claims he didn’t know he was the boy’s father until the child was around 7 or 8, meaning he’d known for at least five years and kept it quiet. As for why he never told Maria, he simply said, he didn’t know “How to tell her without worrying about, you know, that it would get out or whatever.” That’s exactly what he said. Stahl: You write in the book that you had an affair with the actress in that movie. You cheated on Maria. And you were in your relationship. And you don’t even write that you felt bad about it. You just write it.

Schwarzenegger: Actually, you know, I did feel bad about it. But, I mean, all of my various different things, they were mistakes. And this is, you know, my failure. My screw-ups.

Stahl: Was that the only affair?

Schwarzenegger: No. I had others. But I mean, ah, but you know, it’s something that’s obviously between Maria and me.

Stahl: She knew?

Schwarzenegger: Yeah.

Stahl: So it’s a recurring issue with you.

Schwarzenegger: I’m not perfect.

But by this time Arnold had already had the affair with the family housekeeper, Mildred Baena. And would later learn there was a son, Joseph. He says there were strains in his marriage while he was governor. The day after he left office in 2011, Maria wanted to talk.

Stahl: Maria wants to have a meeting with your marriage counselor. Tell us about that meeting.

Schwarzenegger: That particular visit that you’re talking about was the visit where she then said, “Hey, I think that Joseph is your kid. And, am I off here on this or– or not?” And I said, “You’re absolutely correct.” And I had to face up to that, which I have been kind of hiding but no one knew about. And that I knew about at that point maybe for five, six years or so.

Stahl: You just said, “You’re absolutely right”?

Schwarzenegger: I said, “You’re absolutely right, and I am sorry.” It was very painful for her. She was very disappointed.

Stahl: Maria asked you, “Why didn’t you tell me?” And what did you say?

Schwarzenegger: That I did not know how to.

Stahl: You didn’t know how to tell her?

Schwarzenegger: How to tell her without worrying about, you know, that it would get out or whatever.

Stahl: And that she’d leave you while you were still governor.

Schwarzenegger: I don’t think that was as much of an issue as just how do I keep this under wraps.

Stahl: Well, tell us how it happened. This is a woman who worked in your house–

Schwarzenegger: Exactly. And I found out about it kind of– seven years in or eight years in–…

Stahl: So you have this relationship. And she keeps working in the house?

Schwarzenegger: Uh-huh. (affirm)

Stahl: Do you keep having the relationship?

Schwarzenegger: No. But, look, I have caused enough pain to everyone as it is, if it is my wife or my kids. So I don’t want to reawaken and kind of talk about it because it’s not going to help them. And I just want to protect them as much as I can.

Later in the interview, Arnold admitted that he started paying the maid, Mildred Beana, money once he knew her son was his. He doesn’t call it hush money, though, and said he never even had a conversation with her about the fact that he believed her son, Joseph, was his biological child. He just said “I gave [the money] to her and she knew what it was about,” and added “Mildred is a good person. She was not out to get me or to take advantage.” As for why he never fired her, he said “it [would] be the wrong thing to do, to let them go. And, not make her feel like she’s being punished when I find out that this is my child.”

I got the impression that this guy does whatever he feels like doing, has the sense to hide it from the people closest to him that would be hurt, but is then surprised when those people learn about his behavior and are actually harmed by it. He’s so smug, so arrogant, and so sure of himself that he thinks he can get away with anything and that what people don’t know won’t hurt them. He’s still acting like he’s entitled to do whatever he wants, and that it’s other people’s reactions that we should be focusing on, not him. If he cares so much about his children he would have the courtesy to stop trashing their mother and exploiting her pain. Maybe if Maria would have put up with his bullsh*t for another decade he wouldn’t have written this book. This is payback for a woman who finally stood up for herself.
